Pros: I had a great stay in this hotel in Madrid! I was very impressed by the breakfast, which offered options for vegan guests too including a large selection of fruit, soy yoghurt and milk. The staff was wonderful and made me feel at home. My room was also great (no. 503): large room, excellent bed, complementary mini bar, coffee and tea facilities and a pleasant bathroom filled with nice products. I also liked that you can have a glass of wine and some food downstairs. I hope to be back soon!

Cons: The only thing I did not like was that the room was very warm. Every morning I turned off the heater system, but when I returned in the afternoon it was back on to 22 degrees. Not sure what went wrong there!

Cons: Our bathroom sink had make-up residue on the countertop. When they did the turn service it looked like corners were cut to save time by the housekeeper. Despite this, the room was over all clean, but not prestine in my opinion.

Cons: I feel if you are staying at the hotel (it’s not cheap to stay) then you should be able to use the facilities. I’d have liked to get up and go for a swim first thing but the pool did not open until 11am and you had to pay €15 per person per swim to use the pool!

Cons: Often noisy. The room looks to an inner yard-like space, often loud of neighbours, especially Friday night. Also, neighbouring rooms and corridors can be noisy, loud door slamming etc. even at 1AM. The inner yard is also often full of strong frying oil odor, therefore often the window cannot be opened.

I tried to have a breakfast there one day, but i was unlucky communicating with one of the personnel not speaking any English, and could not understand my broken Spanish, so I preferred to try another cafe.

Personnel is friendly and competent, always ready to help and/or give advice. Rooms show some signs of wear and tear, but I assume a renovation would follow -or maybe is already underway- after the name change. Nevertheless, Muralto Madrid Princesa provides very good quality the money. Check-in and check-out are hassle-free, so that you can enjoy your time or do your business without wasting time. Breakfast is kind of basic, but you still have good espresso coffee plus a selection of a few others like americano, with milk, etc. There are several cheeses and sausages, as well as several kinds of fruits and fresh juices. Bread, croissants and sweets are also included, so that the main food groups are actually covered.

Cons: There was a smell of sewage coming from the bathroom, but i kept the bathroom door closed and it didnt bother me at all. The buffet breakfast is average, so i have my own in the room. I could hear everything that the guests next to my room were talking about.

Pros: Perfect location just in front of Arguelles Metro. If we want to walk to the centre it is possible - about 30 minutes along a very nice avenue. My choice of this area was the nearby Moncloa bus station to get a bus to El Escorial: just 5 minutes walk - excellent. Very nice hostal, friendly staff, simple and comfortable room.

Pros: Nothing to like, maybe location, near Metro.
Cons: They don't understand the meaning of hospitality, we got a disease from a restaurant in Toledo and they wouldn't renew our room, even though we were spending half of the day in the hospital and we offered to pay more money.. The elevator carries 1 person. Room is tiny and extractor in the toilet didn't work.. The fridge next to your head keeps you up all night.. Shame on them.

Rooms are not sound proof - you will be woken up in the middle of the night by neighbors walking into their rooms.
Towels were not changed daily.
Soap and shampoo was also a commodity.
Elevator was not working one of the days - this hostel is on the 3rd floor, we had to carry our luggage 3 stories.
We payed 75$ per night, we had other options at that price. I would have rather stayed further from the center, but had a more comfortable living arrangement. If you are paying less than 45 id say its acceptable accommodations.
