Pros: Staff is friendly, fantastic service. Rooms were clean and for the reason of my stay it was fine. It had everything I expected. Location is very good specially for walking. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family.

Pros: In the center of the city Clean modern rooms Professional staff
Excellent10.0
Pros: A nice hotel in a great location
Excellent10.0
Pros: The hotel is right in the middle of everything. Very helpful staff. Easy walk to sites and dining. Very affordable and convenient
Cons: Nothing about this hotel that I can say bad.
Excellent9.7
Pros: Big room, great localtion, low price
Excellent8.5
Pros: The newly renovated rooms are every nice. When we first checked in though, we were given a room on the ground floor, right next to the office with two single beds. This room was quite crappy and old, and there was renovations going on directly outside the window. We asked for a room with one bed, and were given a much nicer room higher up and on the back side of the hotel.
Cons: The older rooms are quite crappy, and I would not have stayed in that. Also, being winter, the A/C is turned off. But, it's hard to open the window, so our room was quite hot. An there was no working fan.
Located in Retiro, this luxury hotel is steps away from Plaza de Canovas del Castillo, Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum and Paseo del Prado. Prado Museum and El Retiro Park are also within 10 minutes. Banco de Espana Station is 6 minutes by foot and Anton Martin Station is 10 minutes.

Pros: The room The location The general ambience
Cons: We reserved a room with breakfast thru 'get a room' and surprised to see that it was not a buffet breakfast!!! for getting the buffet breakfast we needed to add some more money.... Not all the recommendations of the concierges were good, sometimes it seemed like they recommended places that they had personal interests/connections in.
Excellent9.6
Pros: Staff was delightfully enthusiastic. Setting was beautiful!
Good7.0
Pros: The beds were amazingly comfortable, the housekeepers were not only very amusing but extraordinarily nice. The hotel was insanely clean and had a very comfortable feel to it, as if a lot of fancy people had been through it over the years. The location is good, but not great, for accessing most of the touristy stuff in Madrid. But I found the Prado (directly beside the Ritz) to be horrifically overcrowded compared to some of the other museums like Sofia Reina just down the street. Note: Not really easy to access via metro, I'd recommend taking a taxi to/from.
Cons: Take the following review with a grain of salt. I am a young person who grew up poor and wanted, for once, the "Ritz" experience: While I am a big fan of trying new things, I have to say that the Ritz experience just wasn't for me. I don't mean to be crass, but if I had a fistful of fives - I can think of a few places I'd rather spend it than tipping the endless stream of people trying to help me with things. Additionally, there is a little doll that you place on your door if you do not wish to be disturbed. Note: Don't leave the doll up for very long, because if you do, they will call your room until you answer so that they can ask when the next time they can come in your room is. I nap maybe... 2-3 times per year at most, and I am severely irritated that they felt the need to call during my biannual nap to ask me when they can come in my room. Instead of changing my sheets 3X per day, how about leaving me the hell alone when I have my DO NOT DISTURB DOLL up? Perhaps I am not cut out for the lifestyle, but I don't want/need people treating me like a helpless child, yet simultaneously making me feel "lower" than they are. Every time I offered a "no thanks, I don't need a taxi, I'm walking" or walked into the hotel from the street, I received these weird looks of incredulity/disdain that I didn't particularly care for. When I brought my own luggage downstairs on checkout I absolutely horrified the front desk attendant. Why the need to treat people like this? I have no idea. My recommendation? Take the $500 per night you'd spend here for the standard room and split it in half. Take $250 / night to spend on some other hotel's suite. Take the other $250 and stick it back in your pocket.
Excellent9.4
Pros: Old world charm and location. Great lobby and dining rooms
Cons: Room furnishings and hall carpets need refreshing

Pros: The location was GREAT!!!!! One block away from main street, so quiet in the evening, and perfect during the day. I would definitely stay here again!!!
Excellent9.4
Pros: My boyfriend and I stayed here with extended family for a week. Great location, everyone that worked there was really nice/helpful and the rooms were great. So happy to have stayed here during our European adventure!
Cons: Breakfast/buffet was not included in our stay but there are great little breakfast spots for a cheaper price right down the road from the hotel. workout facilities were a little older
Good6.5
Cons: They advertised a gym with a sauna, and both days I was there they were both out of order. I managed to convince the staff to let me use the gym and they did try to fix the sauna to their credit.
Mediocre3.1
Pros: Discovered bedbugs before going to sleep. Had to pack up my belongings in the middle of the night and move hotels. Staff had said they were going to pass along my contact information to the manager. Days later and I've heard from nobody.

Pros: Walking distance from pretty much everything (bars, restaurants, palace, etc) but the museums (Prado and Reina Sofia). Good taste in the choice of furniture and design.
Cons: We had a room that was facing the interior "courtyard" which is in fact the hotel restaurant/bar, which makes it really noisy, impossible to sleep before 2am if you're lucky even with good earplugs. Sometimes it seems that the restaurant staff makes more noise than the clients. There is also no space reserved for the hotel clients such as a lobby or anything.
Excellent9.4
Pros: Fantastic location on a street that has many great restaurants and bars!

Pros: it was a 6 bed dormitory; the bed was comfortable, they have individual reading lights and sockets, two toilets and two showers which is convenient. The location was perfect, it is a three minute walk from Sol and the metro station. The breakfast buffet is worth it, the food was great.
Cons: I liked everything about this hostel, definitely my go to for Madrid.
Excellent8.0
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, great breakfast and cozy lounge.
Cons: The shower in the 4 bedroom; it was out in the open without a lock, no privacy. It was uncomfortable when there is men and women in the same room, I had to put a towel and clothes on the shower door.

Pros: Location is great, 3 minute walk to Sol. Staff is friendly and amazing.

Pros: Great rooms, very cozy hotel, and in a great location.
Cons: Very limited internet, it actually didn't work for most of my stay. Check in was delayed, there were a lot of exhausted travelers waiting for their rooms.

Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful
Cons: As an older hotel I understand you can only do so much, but it would be nice if the hallway noise level could be controlled.

Pros: DATED, ROOMS ARE LOUD, NO ISALATION CAN HEAR NEIGHBORS ON ALL SIDES AND CLEANING STAFF, THE BED WAS 2 MATTRESS PUT TOGETHER AND VERRY UNCOMFORTABLE, IM 5,10 AND MY FEET HUNG OFF THE END,
Cons: ONCE INSIDE YOU FEEL LIKE A HOTEL FROM THE 70s THE DECORE IS OLD. THE BREAKFAST WAS AGOOD VALUE. OVERALL WE DID NOT ENJOY OUR STAY. MADE 2 PHONE CALL TO TRY AND GET A REFUND WITH NO SUCCESS, IT WAS SO BAD WE CHECKED OUT 1 DAY EARLY.
Excellent10.0
Pros: The location and facilities are excellent. The staff, especially the front desk personnel, were great—very helpful and knowledge.
Cons: Noise from other rooms and service vendors is a bit distracting in the evening. Breakfast in the restaurant is very nice but formal. it would be nice to also a venue that is simpler and more low key without the white linens

Pros: Great view and beautiful suite on the 5th floor

Pros: Facilities, food, service
Cons: internet and web connection wifi did not work
Excellent10.0
Pros: Hotel is located 2mins from Madrid metro, as well as supermarkets and authentic local tapas bars and restaurants. Attraction of staying here, eventhough your a short complimentary hotel bus ride from the touristy centre, is the hotel's interior which has been designed by a number of world famous architects and designers - Foster, Hadid, amongst others. This is matched by the 5-star service of the hotel.
Good7.3
Pros: Cool design, friendly staff, good restaurant, close to airport
Cons: slow wi-fi, no workspace for business traveler, small gym
Excellent9.7
Cons: There was a rotted banana in the bin (not ours), but otherwise completely swank hotel!!! Outstanding experience!
Okay5.1
Pros: The rooms were beautifully decorated. Each floor has an invidual motif. The staff at check in were courteous and efficient. I enjoyed the experience of choosing the style of room on an iPad.
Cons: While waiting for staff to fix my door (keycard would not work), I decided to wait at the main bar on the top of the hotel. one side was marked for a private party, one wasn't. I went to the unmarked side, ordered a drink, and as I was about to pay, the bartender asked if I was part of the event. I told him no and he said that he couldn't serve me and took the drink away. I informed him that I was a guest of the hotel and that this area was not marked as reserved. His manager apologized but asked me to leave. This added insult to injury of being locked out of my room. Were it not for an early flight and the hotel's free shuttle, I would have checked out that instant. Furthermore, the hotel is poorly located in the middle of a boring residential neighborhood. It may be a good value for anyone about to travel but the device and amenities do not merit 5 stars.
Excellent10.0
Pros: Very ecological Staff was very friendly Staff was always helpful Very unique floors Excellent breakfast
Cons: I wished the room's shower had had a door for privacy (second floor)
Mediocre3.7
Cons: Amateur front desk staff and missing informations
Excellent9.1
Pros: Front desk staff was very responsive. Hotel architecture, floors, rooms, etc are amazing. Never saw anything like them!
Cons: The restaurant staff was terrible. We were two businessmen dressed in suits. We entered the restaurant at 9:15 pm; It was not busy but had a number of tables with patrons. We walked out at 9:40, having gotten not so much as a glass of water, or even a nod in our direction, let alone an "Ill be right with you." Instead the 3-4 waiters and the captain never even made eye contact with us. So we went to the desk and got a recommendation to a very good restaurant right down the street.
Excellent9.1
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic! The concept is so interesting that I will have to come back at least 12 more times!

Pros: Clean, comfortable and newly renovated. Shuttle to and from the airport makes it convenient for flights. Restaurants close by. A quite residential area.
Cons: If you don't eat at one of the restaurants across from the hotel you have to walk a long way for others
Excellent10.0
Pros: Beds were super comfy, shower had a non slip mat, everything was clean and working, and the breakfast starts real early and has SO MANY options... Highly recommend this hotel
Cons: Only way for this to be better was for it to be free

Pros: Location was excellent - a two minute walk to the Palace and Cathedral and a few more minutes to Plaza de Espana and Gran Via. I would absolutely stay here again when I'm back in Madrid. Staff was very nice and helpful. Oh, free wifi and a large safe in the room were nice to have.
Cons: Only complaint was that the room was dusty in certain areas.
