Pros: "The flight started with a visit in the recently renovated KLM crown lounge in Amsterdam airport. I liked the various seating options and of course the upstairs bar. The service on board was attentive and efficient, the food options I really liked (especially the Chinese dish) but also the little touches like the nuts & gouda cheese which were served in small porcelain bowls. The seat itself was very comfortable when sitting and the structure gives a lot of privacy. However for couples or friends travelling it's a bit cumbersome to have a conversation even when sitting in seats next to each other. Overall my expectations were fulfilled."
Cons: "This seat is not ideal for sleeping for taller persons (I'm 185cm tall) as the space to put the feet is very narrow and it's uncomfortable when lying on the back (as one cannot put them in the natural resting position). Cabin temperature could have been a bit lower for my taste. Crew needs better training with regards to transfer procedure in Chengdu."

Because of an allergic reaction, I asked for ice a number of times and the attendants were more than happy to meet my needs."

Cons: "There are two types of foot-rests, both are a nuisance for people with long legs. The one popping up from below one's seat is extremely hard to put back in place. The metallic one folding down from under the seat in front cannot be secured back and is always in the way if the passenger needs to stretch his/her legs. This seems to be a new appliance, and I jut wish they would do away with it altogether. More is not necessarily better."

Cons: "Air France’s apathy towards its customers is shocking. Traveling with three children , our flight was delayed by 3hrs resulting us arriving in Paris after 1AM. With the airport shuttle(CDVAL) to our airport hotel closed, they offered no assistance despite of my request. Simply asked us to take a taxi (when all taxi stands are abandoned at 2AM). Beware if traveling with family."

Cons: "They have a terrible communication problem, they never communicated why the flight was late, they never communicated what they were doing or what was happening. Bad customer service. Bad communication with the client. They told us when I asked several times that we would not lose our connection and that everything was fine and that was not the case. We lost the connection. No one told us anything. Another problem was that the girl in the boarding process removed the suitcases tickets from the boarding pass and did not want to return them, and held it without any cause. Without that tickets we can not claim the bags. The flight staff went looking for us. Pretty sad and disappointed by their service. I understand that they were causes outside the airline but must communicate to the client. They cannot remain silent and say nothing."

Cons: "Had to use a shoe horn to get into and out of my seat and I'm not a large guy. But really my harsh criticism comes from the loss of my girlfriends luggage. It was left behind in Paris on our way to Casablanca causing us to waste a day in Casablanca traveling back to the airport the grab the bag the next day. And to add injury to insult her bag was left behind in JFK during our transfer for our flight to Seattle. No big deal right, Delta will deliver the bag to our house the next day, wrong, we were told we have to go to the airport ourselves to get the bag."

Totally unacceptable. They started the boarding process early (50 minutes before departure), but passengers were allowed to actually board the plane at the time it was supposed to take off."

Cons: "The whole checking in process was ridiculous!!! You can only check in on your phone otherwise everything is fee. There are no self check in computers. I'm flying international so don't always have wifi available. Charged to check in my luggage. Which is horrible. It's not even a flat fee for the luggage it's by waeight and I had to go back and forth to a different counter for weight, then to pay, then back to drop off the luggage. One person at the counter should be able to do that one transaction.. it's such a waste of time. I will never fly this airline again."

Cons: "The flight was delayed one hour by an unknown issue and boarding staff did not communicate at the gate. Some of the passengers were boarded then the rest of the passengers were left standing in line at the gate for a prolonged period of time. Boarding staff did not address the passengers while we waited. We did not know how serious the issue was while we waited, if we were going to be allowed to board, or if the flight was going be cancelled. Just before boarding the issue was attributed to a passenger from the previous flight who was in a wheelchair and required assistance. Would have been nice to know while we waited."

Cons: "Our flight from Menorca to Barcelona was delayed. We got to Barcelona for our flight to Berlin about 3 minutes after checked baggage was closed. They refused to let us check our bags so we had to go through security with are checked luggage. I had to throw away three beautiful bottles of French and Spanish wine. They also told us that the next flight they could get us on was Sunday when our flight that we were on was on a Thursday. So, we ran through the airport, through security, and through the terminal to get to our flight. We arrived at our gate to see that no one had boarded and an announcement that our flight had been delayed an hour. Not one person on the Ryanair team told us about the delay. It was an awful experience and I will never fly cheap airlines again. It's not worth the savings."

Cons: "Cramped seats. Did not disclose that you would have to pay an extra fee for seats if you wanted to select them (so I could sit with my husband). First time flying Ryanair. Did not know we had to print out our boarding passes ahead of time (until they emailed us a reminder the day before) or pay $15 each for the print out at the counter. The place we were staying didn't have a printer, so I had to waste a good deal of my vacation time dealing with this and finding a way to get it printed. I chatted with someone at Ryanair and they said the thing about printing your boarding passes was in the fine print. Why? This shouldn't be a secret!"

Besides being able to change our flight to go from Barcelona back to the states (with Norwegian) due to changes in plan, we would have considered booking through another airline. Yes, it really was that bad! Food was fine but you have to pay extra for all of it."

Literally for touching the top but still fitting inside fine. Worst legroom ever. Terrible. I had a middle seat and elbows digging into me on both sides. Awkward! Online check-in automatically selects for one person to be in the front and one person in the back unless you pay more to sit together. Unless you pay the fee you cannot sit with someone you're traveling with. Bathroom broken on flight and only one stall available. Long wait! No pouches in the seat in front of you-- kind of annoying... Staff seemed burnt out and ready to get off the plane. I totally could empathize. Maybe it was because we were heading to Barcelona, but major party crowd who was pretty rowdy on the flight. People standing in the aisles blocking the flight attendants, people sitting on each other's laps some and being loud-- kind of like being on a party bus. Will for sure be telling friends to avoid this airline no matter the price-- not worth saving a few bucks for the discomfort and hidden fees. DON'T FLY this airline if you have kids. Your 5 year old will probably get a middle seat at the back of the plane while you're in the front unless you want to pay extra for everyone to sit together. DON'T FLY this airline if you have American sized carry on luggage. They don't care about your American sized luggage. Whatever the baggage guidelines are, subtract some because that's what they REALLY mean. Get the tiny hard case Euro suitcase if you want to carry on a bag. Otherwise the fee is very high! DON'T FLY this airline if you are over 6 feet tall or have long legs. Ok, they let you stand most of the flight anyway. You'll feel better on another airline. If you can spend an extra 15, do it and AVOID this one."

Cons: "I didn't like that the originally fairly cheap price became higher and higher to provide minimal comfort and service. 30-35 euros per bag, paid ahead of time, is a ridiculously high price to charge in addition to the flight cost. Middle seats unless you are willing to pay more. Not even a drink on the plan unless you are willing to pay. etc etc. It is EXTREMELY inconvenient not to provide a paper ticket. I was unable to print a boarding pass as I was away from home. At the check-in I was not given a paper boarding pass, and then when I got to the entrance area, my phone would not work to show the boarding passes electronically. Ryan Air's website was impossible to navigate to find my boarding passes, taking me literally about a half hour to figure out. This delayed our entry tremendously. On the flight out from Barcelona to Rome my son was allowed to carry on his skateboard plus one small other carryon. On the flight back, he was NOT allowed to take the board through security, and was told he was too late to check the board. This turned out not to be true, but we were not informed of this at check-in, again seriously delaying our boarding. Luckily we had arrived at the airport way too early, and this worked to our advantage given Ryan Air's incompetence. The next day we flew home on Swiss Air - what a pleasant difference to fly on a real airline! No issues, lots of help, etc. etc."

Pros: "Cheap Ticket (up front)"
Cons: "--Online check-in system is strange and puts the onus on passengers to do the work w/in a bizzare window of time. If you remember to do it too much ahead of time, then you get charged a fee. If you remember to do it too late, then you get charged a fee. --The fee for missing the check-in online window is exorbitant (50 euros per person) and seems to be a punishment more than anything else, since I don't see how buying and installing a kiosk for customers to check-in at the airport would be less cost effective for the company. Particularly when you consider the cost of the employee's salary whose sole job it is to sit and process the "late check-in" paperwork at a different window. --The luggage fee is among the highest I've ever encountered and also has to be "processed" at a different window with a Ryanair employee who literally fills carbon copies of paperwork in for every single person in line. (There must be a more modern option for their infrastructure than this.) My husband and I had to go back and forth to this other window since the people at the check-in window didn't bother to tell us that we'd have to process the luggage fee + the check-in fee at the separate window. --Finally, the boarding process was chaotic, crowded, and late. And I was kept awake the entire flight by flight attendants making several announcements about Ryanair promotions, including employees pushing actual carts full of non-food items (like cologne) up and down the aisle to sell as if the airways were a flea market. Overall I would have saved time, money, and huge headaches if I had booked a pricier flight up front. At least those companies have some integrity."

Pros: "Just whet I had booked a flight to and from Barcelona."
Cons: "On the way out they ran out of drinks, on the way home we couldn't here the staff over the tannoy."

Pros: "The crew was nice. The flight was safe. Boarding was efficient."
Cons: "Questionable ethics in terms of check in. You have to check in online at least two hours before or prepare to pay a fee. This is not spelled out upon purchase of ticket. When checking in, you need to print or download boarding pass or pay a fee when arriving at airport. You must pay for a checked bag before arrival to airport or (you guessed it) pay a fee. We were fortunate to avoid all fees except for the checked bag fee (a convenience fee on top of the price to check a bag). Ryanair's emails provided no link or instructions to check a bag. Also, springing all this information on us two days before travel was sketchy at best. My guess is a healthy percentage of customers use Ryanair for flights in the middle of a vacation and investigating these details are the last thing on travelers' minds. Ryanair knows exactly what they're doing revealing the info when they do."

Cons: "Awful experience. Could not print boarding passes online and tried to pull them up at the airport, but there was no internet connection. Staff was incredibly rude and tried to make us pay $50 to print on site. Finally downloaded the passes (which, by the way, we had to obtain at least 24 hrs in advance - an easy email to miss). "Priority boarding" (also paid extra for) was a joke. Everyone had to get on a bus to arrive at the plane, and no order was kept, so it was basically a free-for-all to board the plane (lots of flying elbows). As a result, the overhead space by our seats (second row) was filled and we had to put our bags much further back (again defeating the purpose of "priority boarding"). Upon arrival to our destination, there was zero indication that our checked bag would be at completely different terminal. It took going through lost and found and 2 information folks to find the correct baggage claim area (and another go through security). All in all, a terrible experience. Not worth the extra $$ we may have saved. AVOID!!!"

Pros: "The plan was clean and seats comfortable with enough leg room for all but the longest legs. Hot drinks, as in all flights way to expensive. Flight crew very nice and helpful. Over all we were very pleased and we fly quite a lot."

Cons: "This flight was about the 5th leg of our European trip. I attempted several times to complete the early check in on the website so that we would save the fee of checking in later at the airport but I was unable to. We left our hotel 4 hours prior to the flight departure because the metro ride was 1 hour to the Barcelona airport. Next, we waited in line at the airport and were then told to go wait in another line and pay 50 euros each for the airport check-in. Then, our flight was delayed so we got to spend a whole day of our vacation in the Barcelona airport! What a waste of valuable time for us. Next tour of Europe I will gladly spend up to $400 more for a reliable flight on a different airlines. Time is more valuable, especially vacation time!"

Pros: "Ryanair has the no nonsense way of doing things and I noticed for example the lack of the seat pockets in front that usually hold magazines.. and passengers rubbish... I recon whats not there doesn't have to be inspected preflight. I love these things. The app works just fine for boarding. Loved the priority boarding too. I'm always happy to get on a 737. And tired of seeing companies get the airbusses."
Cons: "On the return a 45 odd minutes delay, caused by? The weather maybe? I had to guess but... Not really a big deal tho.. oh and 2 gate changes... gate 10 to 15 and then 10 again... again not something isn't out of the ordinary when you fly any airline out of a busy airport... security que took ages too ;)"

'Chat rep' finally asked what browser I was using. Google Chrome! It's pretty common. She had to input the info and then told me to print the boarding passes because RyanAir would charge 15 euros EACH to print at airport That's highway robbery! We finally managed to forward the ..pdf to hotel reception and they printed them. RyanAir should not assume that a traveller has access to a printer or a cell phone that functions abroad."

Cons: "Not much TO like. The biggest problem was having our luggage LOST for 90 mins after arriving at Rome. How does the plane lose our luggage on a DIRECT flight? And in that time items disappeared from one of our suitcases. Specifically, $60 U.S. And a set of Bluetooth wireless earphones. My fault I know for putting cash in a checked bag, but I KNOW they were in there when we left Barcelona. Just a huge lack of respect by their employees.But having to wait 90 mins to retrieve our luggage was just uncalled for. Also, having the flight crew acting like street vendors trying to sell items during the flight was very low class. I know you get what you pay for, but it felt very cheesy and unprofessional to have them moving thru the plane hawking wares."
