When we checked in - they asked us to both check in our carry on luggage. The reason why is because they said they don’t think they have enough space for our carry ons. I told the crew member checking us in that other people that was checking in with the same hand carry size luggage with us had no problems taking it with them. For being about to be on a 17 HOUR FLIGHT we should be ALLOWED to have our carry ons with us! We take carry ons for that reason! I had to argue and prove my case to the crew member to atleast keep 1 carry on with us. I thought that was an UNACCEPTABLE reason for us to check in a carry on luggage when we had a 17 hour travel time ahead of us. Not a happy costumer here."

Also insisted my sleeping 7 yr old upright his chair for beverage service when everyone around us had their seat reclined(the people around us were all Caucasian btw) and she didn't seem to feel the need to remind them."

One flight attendant was not pleasant and wound up spilling a full cup of water on my lap, followed by another hitting me with the food cart. I am a frequent traveler so for me this shouldn't sway anyone's opinion on a minor instance."

Pros: "The crew was phenomenal. They were able to handle the plane issues and boarding problems with a smile and did their best to accommodate and make things right but unfortunately had limited resources available to them."
Cons: "Did not like the 2.5 hour delay and plane de-boarding/change - this is something that should have been checked before 200 people were allowed to get on the plane and get situated. Also did not like the fact that I called ahead of time (5 weeks) to request a gluten free meal (which was on my flight to Dublin I will add) and it was not on my return flight to the USA. I was starving and was not able to eat that day because the cafes were closed in Dublin (Christmas eve), no food on plane, and because of a missed layover due to flight delay was scrambling to make the new connection and could not get food. Also, rescheduling for missed connection was a nightmare. Not enough personnel to assist in process and took over an hour just to get re-assignment information. Was sent to wrong gate and almost missed new connection. Then on top of that my luggage was lost and the american airlines operating staff sent me to the wrong terminal to make a claim and it ended up taking 1.5 hours longer than it should have just to submit my claim. This is on Christmas Eve mind you, after everything else that is happened that day on this nightmare of a flight. I realize American Airlines is just a partner airline, but you choose to partner with a company that provides sub-par service and an inability to resolve issues so I suggest finding a new partner if you want your customers to have better overall experiences."

It probably has to do with U.S. security, but certainly something more accommodating could be worked out. They had an Aer Lingus lounge, but only for business class and gold card holders, so after spending thousands on tickets, we were not allowed in. Guess the "1 percent" privileges."

Cons: "Plane was delayed by nearly 1 hr. No information of it until 15 min before the scheduled take off time, inspite of me signing up to text alerts at the flight booking. Boarding via bus and just 1 staircase. Passengers with children under 5 years announced to board first, but no chance as no way through unorganised crowd of passengers waiting."

Cons: "We were not told the reason for the delay. We were not given an estimate of the length of the delay. No update information was given. We all understand there can be problems; but just tell us what they are? Then, we were all called forward to board, but I was still standing 45 minutes later in the queue. Let us wait in (relative) comfort in the terminal (restrooms, drinks, wider seats etc), don't start to board us ridiculously early."

Pros: "On time and fairly quick baggage retrieval. Being able to check-in before you leave UK is very useful."
Cons: "I booked through Kayak and although it does warn about extra charges for baggage, I feel I was duped because I booked for 3 check-in bags at additional cost thinking that would mean for outbound flight and return but once the booking transferred to Last minute on completion it turned out I only had check-in baggage for the outbound flight (different airline) and not for the Ryanair return flight. Ryanair charges more if you book check-in baggage after the original booking so the flights were much more expensive than I had thought. Kayak did not help with this issue. I would not use them again."

Cons: "Nearly 3 hours late and no proper explanation for delay. Sorry but delayed incoming aircraft doesn't wash. Also had to wait nearly half an hour upon landing at Stansted before we could disembark"

Pros: "If you pay for priority boarding you do expect to get first on the airplane But you go with everyone on the bus and since you got first you are among the last to board ...what the point to pay than?"

Pros: "I arrived safely without a scratch. The entire crew were very nice. Things were clean. There were no screens for the addicted. I got some sleep before the announcements and sales kicked in on the short flight."
Cons: "Gate was changed after initial assignment. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't sat almost in front of the counter and overheard a customer there saying my flight. I asked someone even closer to the counter if that's the gate, and was told no. There aren't even display boards at the counter so you really have to check. The right gate ended up on the opposite end of the airport, so I wasted a trip and a half, in a way. The previous flight was late, so we boarded half an hour late. We were warned to wait another half an hour on the tarmac but luckily got out in less than half that time. There was no liquid soap in the toilet. I unscrewed the bottle (they really save money and the environment there), put in hot water, and was able to get the soap I needed."

Pros: "I needed a glass of water as soon as I boarded to take some tablets as I was starting to feel unwell. The crew accommodated this immediately and were very pleasent."
Cons: "Why people don't just pay if they want to sit together. It is that way now so go with it rather than main and play chess on the plane, asking people if they will change seats. Sort it out your adults. Surely you can cope for a few hours?"

Cons: "The flight was delayed as the flight before hadn't landed, which happens. But when we arrived at Stanstead we waited a long time to get off of the plane, and the bags from the hold were not released for another hour and a half after landing, with no recogition of this or apology for the wait."

Cons: "CHAOTIC. Found the Ryanair booking site difficult to log into with my booking number constantly not being recognised. Once I'd booked it was pay, pay, pay for luggage and seats making the flight expensive. Biggest insult was they took my money for a transfer, return email saying it was accepted. A later email saying it was cancelled with no refund of money. A 12 month credit note ( not seen yet ) which I can't use in 12 months. Now feeling ripped off Will not be flying with Ryanair again."

Pros: "Price was good. Staff are good in general but felt that the cabin crew lacked professionalism - a tough job noted however. Overall very happy with the service - please note my comments."

I note below someone has stated crew were professional and VERY entertaining ...... thatnis not professional I am afraid. A crew that is busy entertaining the passengers is a crew that lacks focus on the primary role of the cabin safety ... Human Factors !"

Arrived at Edinburgh airport and was told that since I did not check in and it was within 2 hours of the flight, I would have to pay 50 Euro per passenger to check in. There were 3 of us. I had previously paid for checked bags and to reserve seats. Sneaky way for an airline to sucker people out of money. Have flown Ryan air before. Will never again. Unfortunate. Staff was welcoming and flight was comfortable. Not a reflection of employees. 100% reflection of upper management."
