I've never heard of an international airline that doesn't feed you for 10 hours and then runs out of food for you to even purchase. It's madness. I will NEVER fly Norwegian again and I will let everyone know not to either."
Cons: "The cabin crew didn't have any personality, and didn't look happy most of the time, a smile goes along way. When you look for a cost effective flight especially when flying with family including 2 young children you think it is good that the flight costs were quite good, however when you add in the additional baggage fees each way and the reserving you seats so you can all sit together the overall flight costs including the extortionate food prices on board makes them out to be much the same if not higher than that of one of the premium airlines that already include all those things in your flight cost. Not to mention when arriving home in Boston around 40 passengers bags had been left in London and there was NO Norweign staff available to help with this, it tool numerous requests from passengers as well as the flight services people to get a Norweign member of staff to come and help. SO there were a lot of unhappy passengers. I will be seriously considering whether i use Norweign any more in the future because of this."
Cons: "We were diverted to Dulles because of weather, which is no one' fault, of course. We were assured on the flight that there would be buses ready to take us to New York or accommodation for us if the roads were too dangerous. We went through immigration and were greeted by a resounding silence on the part of Norwegian. No representative, no message, no announcement, no luggage, which we STILL have not received a week later. All efforts to get in touch with Norwegian were fruitless. Never, never, never will I give them my business again."

My single checked bag was $65, there was also a charge for reserving a specific seat (not even the upgraded seats), there was no food or water on a 9 1/2 hour trans-Atlantic flight unless you paid extra for it. After arriving at Orlando, the cargo door of the aircraft would not open meaning bags had to be unloaded 1 at a time through a smaller hatch resulting in a 2 hour delay to get a checked bag. Not impressive for a supposedly new Dreamliner."

Cons: "We didn't pre order food but understood snacks could be ordered during flight. The sandwiches had all sold soon after we departed New York. We were lucky enough to buy the last fruit salad. We had nothing else to eat for the entire journey. We booked hand luggage only. Obtaining a boarding pass electronically for myself and my partner was impossible. On the fourth attempt I booked myself in individually and was successfully. I then booked in my partner successfully.We tried to go through departures armed with our boarding pass but we're refused entry. We were redirected back to Norwegian main check in to obtain a happy face stamp on our boarding pass which is obtained after the weight of the luggage has been checked. Unfortunately this means that instead of going straight through departures with hand luggage only we had to go to the main Check in anyway. I agree with checking weight of hand luggage but the process could be improved greatly."

I tried to order it while checking in online because I realised only at that point that it was likely I would have to order in advance...I was charged but did not receive what I ordered. One crew member was nice, the others were not. When checking in at the airport the staff desk attendant was very rude. Too many hidden costs. Paying for extras like food and luggage does not make the price economical."

For the basic fare (which I didn’t realise I was even purchasing), you had to pay extra for a seat and for luggage, on long haul transatlantic! 3. I wasn’t offered food or beverage once on the 8 hour trip 4. You had to purchase a blanket if you wanted one. Everyone was wearing their coats onboard. It almost felt like they were intentionally keeping the temperature cold to induce passengers to purchase blankets. When I requested they raise the temperature, I was told that this was the warmest they could make it and this is the warmest on any plane. (Obviously not true. I fly every month and have mostly found plane temperatures to be manageable.) Oh, and did I mention how you had to pay to check luggage on a transatlantic flight!!"

Pros: "I flew round trip from Oakland, CA to London. This is a budget airline. You pay for anything extra. That said, the airplane was new, spotless and comfortable. The toilets were clean and well stocked with paper products. ( I have experienced quite the opposite on more expensive flights.) The crew was efficient and responsive. The plane was on time and the flight was great. Given the $700 price reduction, I don't mind paying to check luggage or bringing my own food, water, blanket, pillow, ear phones, music, sleep mask and earplugs. If you want a snack, drink, coffee or water, it can be ordered for airport prices. The snacks looked better than the food they served."

Cons: "I fly routinely for work including internationally. I have always been able to carry on 2 pieces of hand luggage -- 1 small rolling bag and a personal messenger bag. I was surprised upon my return flight to be told I had to check one of my bags because their combined weight > 10kg. There was no problem with me having both bags for carryon during my departing flight. The return flight wasn't even half full, so there was plenty of cabin space for my rolling bag. Instead, this was a ridiculous policy of Norwegian so that they could ring some money out of me. I doubt I will fly with them again."

Cons: "I felt this was a bait and switch offer. Cheap price offered, but no checked in baggage included nor any food and drinks or snacks. NOTHING. Flight attendants basically ignore you the whole flight unless you purchase on the flight or in advance. Very poor choice of movies, all old movies. And no WiFi whatsoever. All of these are major inclusions on trans-Atlantic flights, and were not visible when purchasing this flight. I thought it sounded too good to be true. To be honest, if this were all included up front, I couldve brought on-board food and drink for the flight. I dont like being nickel and dimed on everything. Charging over $50 for a checked in bag is ridiculous. At least if it were for $25 like every other flight, I wouldnt of minded."

But be prepared: even on an 11-hour flight you must also reserve meals (i.e., prepay), or you'll be looking forward to buying from the "snack bar"--$9 for a small sandwich. Other items they charge for: water, earbuds, blankets... Don't even ask if there are free snacks. I'm surprised I wasn't charged for speaking with a crew member (when I could flag one down--good luck with that). They begin "boarding" 2 hours before departure. Why? So you can stand in a long line, no food venues nearby, to then be sequestered in an enclosed waiting area until they condescend to let you on the aircraft (no fee for that, surprisingly). Unless you prepaid another fee for expedited boarding. But if you're a common peasant I suggest taking a different discount airline where they actually care about their customers."

I ordered a meal for the flight, but was surprised that when I needed even just an additional glass of water (during the 12 hour flight) I was charged $3. If I had not ordered a meal, I would not have received even the one drink that I got. This was a 12 hour flight, and most people around me were not offered even water."

When I booked my flight there was no option to opt in nor out of any meal package. I called the airlines 48 hours in advance, and they told me that, in order to pay for a meal package I would have to have called at least 72 hours in advance. Also the flight had no vegetarian hot meal options, which sucked for me. I was appalled that you had to pay for, even, water!!!!"

Cons: "There was a mechanical issue which delayed boarding and since we were quarantined to a small area without enough seating, no restrooms or food services which made me very upset. Once we were on the plane there was a possible terrorist threat which delayed us even longer and scared everyone on the plane after police entered the cabin. We were not given any services for the 12+ hours we had no access to purchase food. The food service system was no working on the plane. It also took us 20 minutes to find a gate. The plane was very warm and everyone was angry. The check in process was also horrible with the staff being rude. The flight attendants were also not very nice and after experiencing the scare of something going on they should've been a bit more accommodating. I will never fly Norwegian again or fly out or into Gatwick Airport."

And if you didn't order any food or extras, the crew pretty much ignored you like you werent there not good Norwegian Paid extra for baggage-and a lot! Sizes/weighs allowed for baggage is less than American air carriers and they charge you per kg for overage."

I understand that it's a service industry job and dealing with customers/passengers can be difficult at times but it's really unattractive to do it directly in earshot of other customers. The price is great for the flights but I'd really rather not travel Norwegian again because of the attitude of the service team. Really, the worst. The breakfast meal was pretty unsatisfactory. The cold wraps are not appetizing and the juice is just super sugary, kind of garbage quality."

Very narrow seats, the only type of person that would fit comfortably would be a child. I was given a different seat from what I reserved and sat in the middle of 2 men (one with horrible body odor), both whom were very thin, but it was if we were all sharing the same seat, I couldn't move!!!! Toilets hadn't been cleaned, absolutely disgusting. When the pilot spoke, he had such a thick accent no one around me could figure out what he was saying. And last but not least, we sat on the plane for 3 hours before we took off, 2 of those hours was without airconditioning."

I would like a refund of my $542 since I was told the wrong information and was on time for boarding."

Cons: "Having fully boarded the plane, and with no prior indication at all, it was then announced that we wouldn't be leaving for another 2 1/2 hours because of an air traffic control strike in Italy. Instead of allowing us to stay in the terminal, we sat in tiny seats for longer than the flight itself was scheduled to be, with no offer of any refreshments. The pilot who made the announcement made it seem like a minor inconvenience and got the times wrong twice. Of course the strike isn't their fault but their handling of it couldn't have been worse."

Cons: "Very disappointed with Ryanair and lack of communication from kayak regarding the checking in process. This was our first time to Europe and we booked a last minute trip to Dublin. We arrived at the airport 3 hours in advance to check in and allow time for navigation. We waited in line for an hour only to know that we were either supposed to check in online or upstairs at the airport. We had 4 minutes to check in when we got to the front desk. Staff was incredibly useless and did not assist whatsoever. We had to logon the airport WiFi and watch the video then missed the checkin by 1 minute. This is absolutely unacceptable. We were then directed to another service department for a 55 pound charge each! Which was the same as our original flight. I did not receive any notification email to check in ahead of time. This was a very stressful time for my traveling partner and I and do not feel obliged to be paying the consequences given the circumstances. I am hoping kayak will honor us as loyal customers and reimburse us for these unforseeabke fees. This would be greatly appreciated. I can provide receipt and documentation if needed. Thanks"
Pros: "I was pleased with the RyanAir staff at the Dublin airport and on the flight. Easy booking process and many options to help make traveling a bit easier"
Cons: "I have an American passport and did not realize I needed to get a visa stamp before boarding the plane. While I do realize now that it is mentioned on my boarding pass, there was no other mention of it along the way from arriving at the airport, checking my bag (I used self check), going throigh security, or anywhere else in the RyanAir terminal. Perhaps this could be made more clear for travelers who have never experienced this before."
Cons: "They made is walk around barriers carrying our bags slowly shuffling forward to get into the seated area in front of the gate. It took 15 mins . They could set up the ticket check inside the seated area so we could relax."

Cons: "We arrived 2 hours before the flight. No gate info available for 40 minutes. After 40 minutes it said gate info would be in 20 more minutes. After that 20 minutes they said another 20 minutes. There was no info on the flight and you have no place to wait until they decide to tell you where your gate it. When the gate info finally came up it said to report to the gate immediately and then we were supposed to board. Basically you are forced to stand for 3 hours not knowing anything about the flight."

Forced to print our tix before arrival we "failed to read the fine print" that we were supposed to undergo a "visa check" before the gate. Whatever the heck that's about. First time requirement and totally obtuse. Gate agents did their best to humiliate. No inflight free services. Just be glad you aren't made to pay to pee (yet)."

Cons: "Had two bags to check. Paid for two bags in advance. Didn't know there was a total weight allowance across two bags. First bag ate up most of total weight allowance which forced me to pay for the overage on the second bag of €70. I thought I could bump up my second bag to the higher weight class when checking in instead of having to pay the overage charge that was three times as much. Found out during boarding they were checking bags for free...should have done carry on and avoided the extra costs."

Cons: "Hidden fees after hidden fees... The lady at the check in counter said my bag was fine... At the gate they said it was to big and weighed too much. £50 Extra. I bought an exit row seat because I'm big guy. The seat belt didn't fit so I asked for an extension and the flight attendant got very snippy with me and said she would not give me an extension because of "safety reasons". (This has never been the case on any other airline I have flown.) She then very rudely said because of your rather large size we are going to have to move you to another seat where we can give you an extension. Like I said I know I'm a big guy but you don't have to so loud and rude about it. At least say it with a smile and some kindness... Wow. It was just uncomfortable and not a good feeling. Later when I got to sitting in my new seat, they came through with the convince cart (no free snacks or drinks, you pay for everything.) She nor the other attendent with her asked if we wanted and thing, if we were doing alright, nothing. Thank God it was only a 1.5 hour flight. So glad that experience is over."

Cons: "The flight was delayed for over 2 hours with little information to passengers about why/with new expected times. Boarding was a mess with people all of a sudden rushing towards the door. On board, the crew seemed very flustered and was constantly rushing around, unsure who ordered what, etc. At a minimum, I would expect free coffee and water and was surprised to find out that was not the case on this flight. Not a positive experience and will try not to fly Ryanair in the future, will also not recommend to friends."

Cons: "Ryanair is a bunch of criminals that prey on the Americans traveling abroad. Yes its a discount airline but my $18 flight turned into $150 after all the hidden fees were paid for. To charge a passenger 15 pounds each to print a boarding pass is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone else around us could use their phones as a boarding pass except for the traveling Americans who did not have access to a printer while on vacation is criminal. Lesson learned, I will never fly Ryanair again and will tell every American I know not to be blinded by their discount fare."

Pros: "On arriving at London, Gatwick, for our trip to Dublin, discovered that Ryanair wanted 105 pounds sterling for our luggage for the 3 of us. That was a surprise I did not appreciate as was not highlighted on their website when I made the reservations. Also, the lift to allow our daughter, in a wheelchair, access to the plane was broken and her Mom and I had to help her carefully and with a lot of effort up the plane 20 step ramp from the tarmac to the plane's rear door. We got there three hours in advance, tried to check in online but the the page always redirected you to their wifi which they want you to pay for. The only other way around this was to use the other wifi but that means we would have to do download their app. In the end, we nearly missed my flight because of all this and so we ended up checking in there and being charged £90 or $135. What a ripoff."

Cons: "Flight was delayed by more than an hour and we weren't given any notice or information as to why. When we were finally given a gate number to board (barely 30 mins before our scheduled take off) we were directed to a closed gate with no staff or plane and waited there for over half an hour before Ryanair staff arrived. When staff members arrived (after the scheduled departure time) they had no idea what was going on or why there was a delay. I clearly heard one of them say, "I don't know why all these people are here." The lack of information was frustrating and it was unfortunate the staff at the gate had to try to deal with a problem they had absolutely no clue about let alone seem to even care about. I do not plan on flying with Ryanair again because of this horrible customer service experience."
