Cons: "I couldn't get both of my boarding passes printed in London so I had to get it from an agent in Minneapolis. I hate that it's so hard to get a seat assigned and a boarding pass before the trip."
Pros: "The delta crew both ways between Portland and London was excellent! They saw to our every need and were smiling every air mile of the way. Plane"
Cons: "Need to have food choices available for those with allergies. Almost everything had gluten and soy in it and I am very allergic to those. I had to give away all snacks and most of my food. Even in comfort+ class the seats are tiny with little legroom. Also, please clean the bathroom every few hours"
Pros: "Food was so good. Crew was also very nice."
Pros: "Entertainment and food and service were great."
Pros: "It was horrible. Delta really should have cancelled and refunded the flight altogether."
Pros: "Amazing service and F&B offered was wonderful"

Cons: "Would have preferred they let me choose a window seat. I wasn’t given the option"
Pros: "The crew where extremely friendly, helpful and visible. As the flight was being boarded the gate agent saw me with my cane and she upgraded me to a seat closer to the front of the plane without being asked. Those extra little touches are appreciated"
Pros: "The crew were kind and courteous. The seat was comfortable."
Pros: "Boarding was swift and cabin crew where attentive. Baggage drop was swift and luggage arrived quickly. Global entry at ATL was swift."
Cons: "delta security in the UK is an absolute farce. The security screening at LHR was long and understaffed"
Cons: "Crew was rude and made everything seem like a chore."
Pros: "Decent service"
Cons: "I booked with KLM (sky team) two separate return bookings on via SKY TEAM JFK > heathrow (delta) Heathrow > Amsterdam (klm) On the return leg, I couldn’t check my bag all the way through to JFK even though I stayed on SKY TEAM carriers. That should be possible, otherwise the value of staying in SKY TEAM isn’t as valuable to me."
Cons: "One of the older male flight attendants was not polite. Got a ride, short response when asking him for anything."
Pros: "Good films"
Cons: "Seats cramped, legroom bad"
Pros: "Very friendly crew"
Cons: "Lack of subtitles on available movies & series"
Cons: "I had the feeling they were short on crew staff, they were barely checking and I called them a couple of times, the blue light was on but no one came to check what I needed. At first the reading lights were not working and they got those reset at least. One choice of food was not available anymore once they got to our seats."
Pros: "Staff were friendly and attentive. Boarding was good - efficient and quick."
Cons: "Seats were not that comfortable. Aircraft very noisy. Competition offers a much better service. Transfer in Atlanta was a nightmare, taking almost two hours from landing to getting to the domestic gate for the next sector. only three immigration staff working."
Pros: "The variety of what you could listen to or watch. Liked the way the seats reclined. Plenty of leg room (I am short)."
Pros: "There were alot of good movies to choose from, and the food wasn't bad."
Cons: "It's always very uncomfortable to sit on a plane for a long time, but that's nobody's fault"
Pros: "Flight wasn't full so the service was very good lots of food and snacks and we arrived early too"
Cons: "Music was a. Bit limited"
Pros: "The food was excellent, as well as the flight attendants."
Pros: "Crew, food was good, comfort"
Cons: "The boarding .. We had to climb the steps to get in .. But the crew apologised"
Pros: "Extra leg room with Sky priority"
Cons: "We upgraded to Sky priority but we're not allowed to load with Sky priority. They made us wait for Zone 3. We also did not get the designated overhead space we paid for and had to put our bags under the seat in front of us. A bit disappointing to pay $240 extra and not get what we paid for."
Cons: "The entry into the Atlanta airport after landing was somewhat chaotic. We were backed up circling before landing for ~ 1 hour and there seemed to be an unusually large number of folks trying to get through customs/security - noe Delta's fault but an unwelcome experience after being in the air for 8+ hours."
Pros: "Super friendly and attentive crew. Good food. Nice new seats. Great tv entertainment options!"
Pros: "The crew were nice"
Cons: "The wifi didn't work at all, the entertainment system wasn't working until they did a reboot during the flight"
Pros: "I like Delta empowering women."
Pros: "Meal quality has improved"
Pros: "Plenty of movies and music to entertain"
Cons: "Economy seats have no leg room and seats are very uncomfortable to your back during a 8hr flight. Flight attendants skipped rows for drinks, snacks, etc and would have to be called back. Paying close to a thousand per ticket, you'd expect a little better experience but oh well."
Pros: "Service was good. Attendants polite. Information good."
Pros: "There wasn't much to like. Just about everything was wrong. The plane was a newish 787, so it didn't feel old. Boarding went well because we complained about how tired we, at 70+, were because the flight was late and we'd been standing up; this resulted in us being boarded with some of the latish priority passengers."
Cons: "Everything, really. The plane was very crowded; small seats, little leg room. The meals were mediocre and the cabin staff were just barely the good side of unhelpful, officious and unfriendly The flight was inexplicably 2 hours or more late in excellent weather. No apologies given, the flight that was originally scheduled for 8 pm left close to 11 pm. While boarding the only light is a purplish ambient lighting that made it impossible to read anything, including the safety material, until the inflight entertainment was loaded up (the lights are only controlled through software-actuated virtual buttons on the screen). The inflight entertainment system is hard to use, too, designed by idiots for use by geniuses. But the very worst thing was the stress caused by Virgin Atlantic in just about guaranteeing that we would miss this flight. On our outbound voyage in January, VA, for reasons nobody knows, booked an ADDITIONAL leg from JHB to CPT on BA at 12:30 pm, even though we were already ON the earlier 9:30 BA flight we'd booked and paid for. Then, when we didn't show up for this spurious flight (because we were already in the air) we didn't book (BA swears they have evidence that VA made this booking), our return flight CPT to JBG three months later was cancelled WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. If I hadn't been interested in knowing, the day before the flight, if the return BA flight had a meal, I would have showed up at the CPT airport in April and discovered that I had no way to get to the VA flight in JHB! As it was I spent an entire day trying to get back on the flight I'd already paid for. I advise EVERYONE who uses VA to reconfirm flights over and over. There is still no explanation for this. I will never NEVER fly VA again. They are not to be trusted."
Cons: "Entertainment was working, watching movie when they said done didn't have do they were resetting system. They tried twice taking over an hour and it never came back on for anyone..... :("
Pros: "Boarding and deplaning were efficient. Crew was good. Seats were comfortable."
Cons: "Seat was near the restroom and there was an odor for the second half of the flight. Issues with the A/V - hum in the headphones and the touch screen only worked intermittently. Cabin temperature was a bit cold."
Pros: "spaced out"
Cons: "there was no food alergy alternatives (Gluten Free)"
Pros: "This was my first flight in Polaris and I was very impressed. I had a window seat and the cabin is configured so that you do not have to climb over someone else to exit your seat. In some other business class cabins on other airlines this isn’t always the case. This reminded me of a BA first class cabin setup. Nice large TV screen and window locker to hold items you want to access during the flight and also a small locker with a water bottle, headphones etc. Food was good and there is an option of do not disturb that you can switch on from your seat. One passenger slept through this meal and the crew were able to reheat his meal. Final comment. I had a 70 minute layover between landing from Hamburg and leaving to the US. Heathrow is a big airport and on a previous flight with BA I have missed a connection with a 90 minute layover. However with United, it was very efficient. No time to visit the lounge but made it to the gate with approx 10 minutes to spare."
Pros: "Not so many passengers so we're all spread out and enjoyed the space and privacy. Got free upgrade to Premier Plus."
Cons: "There flight was a bit on the long end (9.5 hours). There was at least one baby crying pretty much most of the flight."
Pros: "Flight left on departure and on board air cooling system was much welcome. Cabin crew were polite."
Cons: "Cabin was untidy, goodness knows what was stowed away at the back of seats towards the rear of the cabin, so rear of cabin was unwelcoming. Cabin crew should keep some overhead lockers for their own use. Poor sound quality on Inflight entertainment, either that or Headphones were poor. Food portions were painfully small (lunch of chicken risotto) AND I found pretzel flavoured breakfast bap unpopular."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Food was poor"
Pros: "Came close to missing flight because of gate delay because of connecting flight, but one of the flight attendants saw I was flustered and sweaty and gave me a cup of water before the flight even took off. Very thoughtful and nice."
Cons: "My name was on both reservations, i did not notice this until my wife and i tried to check in. They would not change the name on one of the tickets to my wife, Kathleen. So we had to cancel the entire reservation. I have trip insurance with Allianz, and am trying to get a refund for the tickets. If"
Pros: "The crew were all very friendly and very helpful; one gentleman even took time to help me figure out how to get around the airport before we landed since I had a very short amount of time to make a connecting flight."
Cons: "Honestly, this was the best flight I've ever been on. I've never had the pleasure of having an entire flight crew be so friendly, and since the flight wasn't full, it was very comfortable."
Pros: "Generally flight was ok."
Cons: "Food was not too much. Probably men was hungry, for me it did not taste good."
Cons: "Totally false information provided by Kayak re: seating and seat assignment. Sold as Austrian Airlines flight w/ links to their baggage policies and ability to pick seat. Arrived at airport and told I must check in with United, who charged me baggage fees contrary to Austrian policy."
Pros: "Helpful crew and loads of space on bulkhead with bassinet (had to pay extra for the seats though but worth it when travelling with five month old)."
Cons: "Misinformed about luggage being checked all the way to Auckland - like other US airports all luggage must be collected and handed over again for onward journeys. Also travel cot was lost in transit."
Pros: "Clean modern plane"
Cons: "Switched to American airways so the booking reference did not work. Had to call them to get a new reference so I could check in. But could not get boarding pass. Food not too good on the flight."
Pros: "Comfortable and efficient"
Cons: "No vegan food options left"
Pros: "Check in was very good Both Outward and Return flights were on time. Crew very attentive Seating not too bad (if you haven't got long legs)"
Cons: "Food could be a bit more varied - some people don't like pasta and some people don't like chicken - what was left????? Should have different entertainment on different legs of the journey Not really Flight-related but Passport Control in US could do with a review .... waiting a good hour or so - come stations were empty and those that weren't the staff were changing shifts while there was still loads of people to go through - not nice when you have people meeting you."
Cons: "Couldn't connect to the onboard entertainment system through my laptop."
Pros: "The seats on the 777 give a little more leg room than other airlines. They are attentive with the food, which isn't bad. The attendants were pleasant. Lots of choices for movies, tv, or relaxation screens on the small individual screens."
Cons: "They never offered earphones for the movies. Good thing I had some in my bag already. I also wish airlines would make small bags available for passengers to put their trash."
Pros: "Crew were good, flight not too noisy and was thankfully quite full but not complete."
Cons: "Poor food and food choices. Poor choices for in-flight movies and tv (was much better on the SFO -> Frankfurt leg)"
Pros: "The crew was stellar! For a change, the flight wasn't too full, and one of the flight attendants went out of her way to move me and my husband to a row where we could have the middle one open. Another flight attendant was so pleasant and friendly, without being in the least intrusive, and so was one of the flight crew who I by chance exchanged a few pleasantries with. The food was reasonably good, although oddly leaning a little too heavily on the carbohydrate side. The WiFi actually worked, and the entertainment offered not bad. I liked that there were a few off-the-beaten-track choices in movies and TV documentaries."
Cons: "What I didn't like was after booking a ticket, then calling before my round trip to see if I could make a change of one day for the return. I was quoted a price of $4,870 to change two $300 tickets. I opted to not change and expressed my dismay at this preposterous fee to change. Her best suggestion was to check again after the trip out (Denver to Heathrow). I did, on Friday April 13th, when I called Lufthansa (it was a Lufthansa flight operated by United) I was told it was a mere $600 to change 2 $300 tickets. Again my husband and I decided not to do this. Yet, when we arrived at Heathrow for our return trip, we couldn't get our boarding passes because they said we were too early for our flight tomorrow. Somehow they'd changed it after we declined to make the change! We were able to get it changed back and get on the flight, but got not a word of apology or explanation. Still waiting to see if any kind of charge shows up we will have to dispute. Not at all happy with Lufthansa for this."
Pros: "The leg room and comfort in economy, for a 767, were surprisingly good but the quality of screen and entertainment was lacking. The screen on my iPhone is bigger than the screen on the seatback which if compared to other airlines is not up to the mark. The lack of facilities to charge things like ipads or iPhone was disappointing."
Cons: "The seat comfort was good as was the legroom in economy. The crew were friendly and helpful and I found the overall experience good. If Unitied could build on that and just offer power (even usb) and larger screens they would be onto a winner."
Pros: "all smooth"
Pros: "The journey was smooth"
Pros: "The flight went very smoothly from start to finish"
Pros: "Entertainment and the crew"
Pros: "Relatively comfortable seat, decent entertainment and nice crew."
Cons: "50 minutes on the tarmac in Newark waiting for the gate."
Pros: "The flight length and capacity was fine. Crew was nice enough."
Cons: "The plane was outdated, the entertainment was a screen smaller than my phone and had only set movies or shows that played in repeat. Apparently you could download their app and watch other stuff but we weren't informed of that at all while waiting to board which would have been sensible (when there was Wi-Fi access). For a long flight, that would have been nice. They also made a big scene about the bathrooms, apparently us in economy didn't pay enough to use the bathrooms in front of the thin blue curtain that wasn't really closed. It was a bit weird, they're just crappy bathrooms regardless of where they are on the plane."
Pros: "bad movie choices"
Pros: "Crew were very helpful and flight was direct and on time ( unlike my other UA experience hence I started taking Air New Zealand )."
Cons: "Thought it was Lufthansa. Missed the partwhere it says “operated by”. So it wasnt the flagship Lufthansa aircraft but United Airlines. It was an ok flight with UA. Cant complain. It was a direct flight."
Pros: "Friendly staff, happy to help"
Cons: "Was all good"
Pros: "Easy check in. Good flight. Good food."
Pros: "We were told that if we boarded quickly we might be able to leave early. That was motivating."
Cons: "In-flight service was a bit spotty. But crew was courteous and professional when it really mattered."
Pros: "The service and convenience was excellent. Straight forward and smooth transition throughout boarding and catching connecting flight"
Cons: "The piece of mind given to me by the staff with baggage and connecting to the other flight"
Pros: "Staff were very helpful especially with delayed flights etc"
Cons: "Aircraft was very old, bad food, lack of entertainment, poor tv and hard to use, uncomfortable seats"
Cons: "Seat kicked throughout the flight from behind, screaming child in my ear on the side, constantly declining and inclining chair in front. Melted ice cream and butter. Butter poured onto my lap on opening! Audio didn't work on films. Couldn't store my bag anywhere near my seat Utterly dreadful"
Pros: "All the staff (both at the terminal and on the flight) were all extremely friendly and helpful and very efficient."
Pros: "Check-in at Heathrow T2 staff were excellent and very helpful."
Cons: "Price of a small mug of coffee £3.85 and it wasn’t even Starbucks it was a machine at the weatherspoon’s!"
Pros: "overall very pleasant and relaxing food good able to sleep due to luckily extra space! very pleased"
Pros: "The United Airlines lady on the desk at Terminal 2 was tremendously helpful (she had an Indian name beginning with S). She helped me sort out my ESTA and ETA for Canada and ensured I got through security without too much delay."
Cons: "Entertainment was awful. You have to watch movies on your phone and then the wifi/app doesn't even work!"
Pros: "New plane, friendly flight attendants, quick meal and drink service and we arrived a bit early. Nice job overall."
Pros: "The crew were excellent and receptive to needs on the flight."
Cons: "Baggage Claim was a nightmare. I did not receive a baggage ticket when I checked my bag in London. Part of that is my fault. I should have made sure I had one. It took an extra long time to get my bag. Everyone else had left the area from my flight and I approached the counter. The attendant at the counter was rude. She said she couldn't help me unless I had the baggage claim ticket. Which I get that, but it all comes down to how she said it to me. She went over to the carousel and said that my flights bags were still going around and at that time I saw my bag. I said there it is to her and she responds, well you can go get it yourself then. Just completely rude. It all came down to how she responded to me. I was freaking out at the prospect of my bag being lost and she responded as clipped and uncompassionately as possible."
Pros: "At boarding there were delays which the boarding personnel updated as they had information. After boarding flight crew passed out water while we waited on the tarmac for hours while a maintenance issue was reviewed. Safety protocols that had a engine issue looked at on the ground prior to putting us in the air. Curry chicken was good."
Cons: "Several issues that caused this flight to be late. Part of the issue was the plane was not available to be in the gate on time. The longest delay was on the tarmac for over 2 hours as an engine was analyzed. Does this suggest need for more regular maintenance? I don't know. Given the delays I think United could have done more in recognition of the delay to its customers on the flight such as not charging for some of the services they normally charge for like wifi access and such. As it was I was delayed on both legs of my trip by a minimum of an hour. United should do better."
Pros: "Comfortable seats, the complimentary wine and beer, the service, the movies!"
Cons: "The flights was delayed, but it worked OK for our schedule this time."
Cons: "I understand sometimes there are problems with gates once a plane lands, but an hour on the tarmac waiting to get into a gate is ridiculous. Pay up to have gates available for your aircraft. We have choices when flying. If you disrespect the customer's time, we take our business elsewhere. Also, having the customer do everything from tagging our baggage and automated check-in at the airport should reflect in the price we pay for a flight. Instead, you make us do all the work and keep prices the same."
Pros: "The people at the gate were very friendly and helped ensure we made the plane although we were late because of a misunderstanding of the boarding times. The original itinerary was booked through Kayak for Lufthansa months ago. The flight was 10:25 and boarding time was 9:50 up until the night before the flight. The crew members made a remark while we boarded as if it was because we went to the duty free. It was not because of the duty free visit and would have liked to tell the flight attendant to keep that remark to herself or wait until she was in private with her coworkers. It's a matter of professionalism if she wasn't going to confront me personally."
Cons: "Plane was old. The overhead compartments kept opening upon takeoff and landing. Although passengers were able to close them, they would just open again. This posed a safety concern to the passengers near the compartments. (3 compartment doors that I know of opened). The TV screens were unsatisfactory for an international flight greater than 5 hours. The food was disgusting and competitor airlines offer a much better selection for international flights. Would not consider United for an international flight based on this experience despite price."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled, instead of a direct flight back, we had to go to Munich and then fly to LA"
Pros: "At gate, staff generously gave me priority boarding because I'm pregnant."
Cons: "We couldn't access the inflight entertainment because we didn't have the United App and you can't download it once the flight has started (flight was operated by United)."
Pros: "The plane was almost empty so I took a 3 seat and layed down to sleep. There is not entertainment or reading material so there is nothing else to do. The crew was exceptional in all ways."
Cons: "There is not entertainment or reading material so there is nothing else to do. It would have been miserable if the flight was full."
Pros: "United now has small mattresses to put on your lay flat bed in business class. Very comfortable! For once they had my first choice for lunch and it was delicious."
Cons: "The seats are lay flat beds. However they are very narrow especially where the feet are resting. If you are over 5ft10 it's too short a bed. You feel that your feet are pressed together when you sleep. Also no seat level storage space. Seats are narrow and are almost impossible to sleep in resting on your side. Would suggest united try out the Emirates airline business class seats on the A380. The British Airways business class seats and New Zealand business class lay flat seats are also much nicer."
Pros: "The flight was fine. Trouble is, it's not a Luthansa flight, it's a United Airlines flight. That's not clear when you book, and the reservation shows up with the confirmation number on the Luthansa site. We had to call them to find that the flight was actually United when we went to book the boarding pass. It didn't flag the flight as united...it would look up and find the reservation, then the web site would simply hang when we tried to print the boarding pass. That's poor customer service to say the least. I get that the Star Alliance and other partnerships are eroding brand, but this should have been listed as United."
Pros: "Choice of entertainment was great."
Cons: "The system kept malfunctioning repeatedly, and had to be restarted by both the flight attendants, as well as myself (I had to keep turning it off and on and restarting movies)"
