FAQs - booking Armenia flights

  • Which London airport is the most convenient to fly from?

You can fly to Armenia from four of London's airports. For the best convenience, choose the one that's closest to where you're staying in the city, or where you're coming from when getting to London for a flight. If you're in west London, or travelling from cities like Reading or Bath, choose Heathrow Airport. Luton and Stansted airports are to the north of London, serving areas like Oxford, Northampton and Cambridge. If you're coming from the south of England, or staying south of the Thames, Gatwick Airport is your best bet.

  • How can I save on carbon emissions on this route?

You can save around 58% in carbon emissions by catching the Wizz Air flights from Gatwick Airport, flying via Vienna International Airport. From Stansted, choose one of the Ryanair flights, which switch to Wizz Air in Vienna. This cuts emissions by 45%. From Luton Airport, book with FLYONE to save about 40% – you'll stopover in Chisinau, Moldova. Leaving from Heathrow, Aegean Airlines emits 45% less CO2, travelling via Athens.

  • What's the easiest way to get from Yerevan Airport to the city centre?

You can take public transport from the airport in the form of an Elite bus. This will take about 25 minutes to get to central Republic Square, with buses leaving every 30 minutes. These are really cost-effective too – you can expect to pay about 415 drams (£1). If you've hired a car or prefer to catch a taxi, the city centre is about a 15-minute drive from the airport. Average taxi costs are around 2,000 drams (£4.50).

  • What other Armenian cities can I reach from Yerevan Airport?

Yerevan is quite centrally placed, which makes it pretty easy to reach the two other main cities in Armenia: Gyumri and Vanadzor. They both lie to the north of Yerevan. It's about a 2-hour drive to Gyumri if you've hired a car. Otherwise, a bus will get you there in about 3 hours. Travelling to Vanadzor is just as convenient and will take you roughly the same amount of time by car or bus.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from London to Armenia?

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from London to Armenia?

Top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Armenia

  • Armenia's Yerevan Airport (EVN) has excellent passenger support and limited mobility services. This includes assistance for elderly flyers, pregnant women and travellers with very young children. Customer service personnel are always on hand in the Arrivals Hall.
  • You don't need to apply for a visa to visit Armenia as a UK citizen. You can stay in the country for up to 180 days per year visa-free. This can be in one continuous stretch or spit over multiple visits.
  • You can't fly directly from London to Armenia, but you can shorten your flight significantly by booking with Condor out of Heathrow (LHR). This is a roughly 7-hour flight, stopping over in Frankfurt.
  • If you're travelling with young children, both London Heathrow and Gatwick (LGW) have Stay and Play areas where they can burn off some energy so you can have a more relaxed flight. These are safe and fully supervised.
  • Yerevan Airport is close to the town of Ararat, near the Turkish border. From here you'll have a great view of the mythical Mount Ararat, where Noah's Ark is purported to have come to rest after the Great Flood in the Bible.

The seat was hard as a rock. Business class seats were coach seats with no one in the middle. Service and food were excellent.

The crew was awesome. There was a school group of about 60 14 year-olds. The food is standard greek fare, Baklava was pre-packaged like it would normally be sold in a vending machine, and it was the highlight of the meal. Plane was in great shape, and seating was like a any A319 you would experience at a national-level carrier (i.e. not like Ryan Air). Like many European airports, they bused us to the plane, so the process of boarding groups is useless, and not well understood by infrequent travelers.

Departing from the Parikia apport on Paros was chaos. It is a 3rd world airport, and my home has more square footage. Olympic Air has several instances where there are less than two hours between flights leaving Paros. Further, there are two airlines at the airport, so airport resources are limited. With only one check in desk for each airline, the folks who are getting on the earlier flight are the only people who are able to check in. So, don't get there too early to check in. Also, the airport waiting area, after you go through security only holds about 1/2 of a plane's worth of people. So, the security line also has the same restrictions as the check in desks. Depending upon what time you get there, two queues will extend into the entry road. If your plan departs within the hour, go up to the front of the building and check to see which flight they are checking in or running through security.

Every one was attentive, the food was really very good . All and all was an excellent experience .

There was no enterteinment onboard. Food was good, and service too.

It was a short flight. It did leave about 15 minutes late but other than that everything went well!! There was no food service or entertainment so can’t comment on any of that.

Not good, the seat was broken and the middle seat table was not lowering, no option on the food, despite the business class wasn’t full. In the menu offered they had fish or chicken, no chicken available when was my turn (seating in raw 2!)

For a quick trip to athens they did a great job plane was spacious, and we boarded quickly.

it was hard to find the check in at the airport no signs food was average

Short flight. Was not told if there was a kosher option for the snack.

Efficiency of staff, and comfort and cleanliness of aircraft was all great. Maybe a hot drink without payment at that time in the morning would be good!

This flight had way more space than my international flight which is just embarrassing

The plane was late (as was my flight out from Birmingham the day before)

At baggage claim, I was given the wrong printed ticket. The ticket belonged to another passenger for a different flight — to Zurich instead of Frankfurt (layover). I was even allowed to pass security, and when I asked the Lufthansa employee if I was on the correct flight, and why it was changed. The employee said everything was correct and I should board. When I got on the plane, there was someone in my seat, and the crew on the plane finally realized that I was on the wrong plane. When I got off the plane, nobody was willing to help, and the security refused to provide my original printed ticket. That was until I showed them that I took a photo of the ticket; once they realized I had photographic evidence, they were suddenly ready to help me. The Lufthansa employee began communicating with other airlines and found a flight that would take me to my destination via Polish Airlines. I was required to once again go through security, re-check my bag, and once again pay for my checked bag and weight overage fees. This experience was incredibly stressful and very frustrating, as you can imagine. A Lufthansa employee told me I would be eligible for a refund. Please tell me what steps I need to take in order to make that happen. Thank you!

Excellent flight overall. Lufthansa Business service was excellent with great cabin crew and very good food and wines. The seat comfort was excellent. Only a slight reduction in score due to the 747-400 being a relatively loud aircraft these days.

The flight was delayed by an hour. Made the connection uncomfortably tight.

The experience was great. A330 needs an upgrade between RDU and FRA and vice-versa.

When we went to the lounge they told us to go into the main lounge and not the full business class section, later they told me that Lufthansa wont pay the full fee to alloq the business class passengers entry to the nicer sectikn where all the other airlines nusiness class passengers go into. Very poor arrangement.

Not what I expected for the last leg of a $5100 business class experience. Boarding was a nightmare. The flight was delayed and I had to keep checking my email to ensure I was at the right gate since the airline or the terminal had no clue until 15 mins prior to boarding. Food was gross, limited drink options.

Flights scheduled with impossible connections - Lufthansa apparently believes it takes 7mins to change terminals, go through passport control, re-clear security and walk 1.8kms…..and everything will work perfectly (which it never does at Frankfurt). No staff on hand to assist with transfers on delayed flights. No transfer guidance provided by app. No compensation offered for 6hr delay to connecting flight.

Boarding from Teminal C, which requires long walking to it from main terminal A.

delayed flight, bag was delivered earlier than I landed, no even water was offered during the flight...

The 50 € boarding fees per ticket are completely unjustified. I lost all my savings because I arrived at the counter barely 5 minutes late (2hrs and 55mine before departure). This feels like an unnecessary penalty. It's especially disappointing considering the initial flight was canceled by WizzAir. I expect a partial refund of the 196 € paid for the boarding.

Boarding kept us waiting for ~15 minutes in the sleeve. Other than that, excellent for a low cost carrier.

Low cost carrier, you get what you pay for. Cardboard-quality seat, no recline, minimum pitch, bus-to-board service (no jetbridge), and overworked/underpaid flight attendants. But, they got the job done on-time with no major catastrophes.

The behavior of the front desk and lack of explanation of hidden fees and prices in emails send pre-flight marred things up. 1 star

2 hours delay, very disappointing, at least they didn’t cancel at all as they do often

I miss my flight due to boarding pass won’t load up

Flight schedule was modified and the final departure time delayed.

Big delay because of the weather but communication not so good. Boarding already late (due to tight schedule on Wizz side). When you get in you are hurried every second even if you still need a few seconds to arrange your bags. Food far away from how it looks in the catalogue and right on row 8 already out of chocolate although you are supposed to receive one for a menu. No replacement was offered.

Flight was delayed by two hours and we then sat on the runway for another 40 minutes and circled Gatwick twice making it 3 hours later landing this is very poor compared to all the other operators I’ve flown with the outbound flight was an hour late

There were not enough staff and signage to direct people to Wizz Priority lanes for check-in and boarding. It didn't feel like we were Wizz Priority holders.

Had to pay £45 to check in at the airport because I didn't check-in online at least 3 hours prior... and it wasn't mentioned on the booking / App (online check-in is only marked as "included service"). Upon landing, captain failed to land the first attempt and had to take off again for an re-attempt. Overall mid experience, would definitely pay a bit more at first to avoid this again.

Two of our boarding details were missing and they wanted to charge us 84 pounds for that, although it was totally their fault

They boarded us despite knowing we wouldn’t be taking off for another hour and boarded us into a plane who’s air conditioning was not working properly. So we were sat in a hot plane for an hour with no access to the bathroom getting hotter and hotter. A little bit of communication between the teams would have avoided this.

I planned to be working during the flight but next to and in front of me there was a family (basically all around me) who had screaming kids all the way long and they were rude and the kid was kicking me as well and constantly wanted to grab my phone etc. I was so pissed, I didn't think they will travel priority so I didn't think they'll sit next to me but they did. I asked the crew if there is a chance for me to go to another seat far away from there...And they were so kind, immediately after take off they showed a seat for me that is far away from these people. I'm so grateful for this!!! I hate that I cannot figure out these things in advance. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PAY MORE IN ADVANCE TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO FAMILIES W KIDS AROUND ME!!!!

Brand new aircraft Airbus 321neo, good seats although no recline (so no arguments with other passengers). Orderly boarding using front and rear aircraft doors for efficiency. Departed on time and artived 25min early. During check in, ground staff are very strict about permitted baggage and carry-on weight and size - you're only allowed what you paid for. Onboard food and beverage prices are a bit high but similar to airport coffee shops.

Boarding was fine, crew professional but not very friendly. Seats are very tight & uncomfortable. 1h delay due to crew change and mechanical issues - no communication whats going on.

Crews are great, chill, good snack sets on offer, I didn't feel they play any annoying budget airline games. I will probably fly with Wizz every chance I get it

If you don't want to pay a lot at check in desk, you need to use online check in tool, but you still need to go to check in desk to have it printed out. Then what's the meaning of "online check in"? Extra security check, as if 9/11 just happened!

You adjourned my flight by 1h 30 mns and only updated me 1h30 mns before the new scheduled flight. I submitted an email to Kayak asking for a refund. It was the most stressful experience I've had.

Not because when i try to do check in there is only in turkish language i can not select other language

Don't fly Pegasus, terrible service at the airport and boarding was really bad. Both flights I took with them were significantly late. This flight had us all changing the gate at the last moment and it was chaos.withour explanation or apology. The planes have seats that don't recline and seats are really hard. The crew on board was good both flights, but that is the only positive thing I can say about this airline. It's not worth it and I won't be flying them again.

The airport staff were some of the worst I've ever flown, and I fly at least 50x every year. From the staff at the gate, to the check in staff, to the ticketing sales staff. My experience in Instanbul was so bad Ill.never fly Pegasus again. They were incredibly rude, dismissive and not helpful whatsoever. This is the worst of the worst if you want to fly a budget airline I'd go elsewhere. The airplane seats are really uncomfortable and don't recline at all, you get charged for every single thing so in the end you will pay more flying with them. The crew on the plane were the only kind people we encountered with Pegasus.

Pegasus Airlines which is the most efficient and cost worth low cost airline all over the Europe

Flight from London was delayed and we had to hurry up to catch the connecting flight to Riyadh

The crew were outstandingly kind and cheerful. We carried our cat and they offered help.

Late departure. No announcements. Boarding was a disaster. Some kind of technical issue scanning boarding passes.

Pegasus is a very efficient airline. Passengers, however are sometimes unruly. Getting up right after take off. Getting up right when we land and before getting to the gate. Switching seats to the front so she can get a better seat. It is unfair for those that actually paid for seats. Flight attendants seem to not enforce it. One or two bad actors ruins it. Overall, the airline is great.
