KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Batumi

  • A little-known fact about Batumi Airport (BUS) is that there is a convenient shuttle service available for passengers arriving at the airport. The shuttle can be found just outside the terminal building at the designated shuttle pick-up area. It offers a cost-effective and efficient transportation option to the city centre, allowing travellers to easily reach their destinations and explore the charming city of Batumi.
  • When travelling with large luggage bags, consider booking flights that include luggage transfer, like Turkish Airlines flights via Istanbul Airport (IST) or Pegasus Airlines flights via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (SAW). These are more expensive but generally cheaper than adding luggage to flights that don't have an included allowance.
  • When flying to Batumi from London, Gatwick Airport (LGW) is often considered the best departure airport for families. It offers a range of family-friendly facilities and amenities, including play areas for children, baby-changing facilities and a variety of dining options suitable for all ages. Additionally, Gatwick has good transport connections, making it convenient for families to reach the airport and start their journey smoothly.
  • Budget travellers hoping to save some money on trips should consider booking flights with multiple airlines that have self-transfer stopovers en route. Flights with Wizz Air and Pegasus Airlines travel via Dalaman Airport (DLM) and Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen and offer reasonable airfare with stopovers long enough to collect luggage and check in again at each stop.
  • Those travellers who want to stay connected to the internet while travelling between these cities have a couple of options. Flights with Ryanair and FlyDubai offer Wi-Fi on flights from the second leg of the journey from Dubai onwards. EL AL and ISRAIR have flights with a single stopover at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion (TLV) and offer Wi-Fi throughout the journey.

Food could of been a bit more premium, but everything was excellent. LOVED the innovative boarding drinks and terrific service!

Staff could have been friendlier and offered drinks more often

They have adopted a crazy "no paper boarding passes at all cost policy". We spent half an our at the checkin stall – my elderly mother and her grandchildren were flying. She had no phone reception for some reason (besides being an inexperienced smartphone user), the kids had dumbphones, And they still won't issue a paper boarding pass. We had to do a lengthy dance with getting the boarding pass SMS on my phone and transferring them to her phone via WiFi. This was horrible, honestly. I can't imagine how they could manage it without me being there. Trees (and airline profits) should be less important than people.

We were charged for checking in our bags! One bag per person was supposed to have been included in the ticket price, and yet Turkish Airlines charged us nearly $200 per bag!

Staff friendly. Business class but issue with flat bed. Incoming Turkish flight delayed. Made connection due to fast buggy but luggage did not make it. Confusion at Delhi airport

With a 4 hour delay its was a very basic flight which was just bearable. We were offered food vouchers for the delay and then they didnt work, so that was annoying. Also poor communication about the delay which got pushed out 3 times.

Very good overall.... apart from the cost of extra check ed in luggage where they charge £17 per kg, and no option to just buy an extra bag allowance (at least on the route I took)

Very old plane on the Istanbul to Bangkok flight, had an emergency exit isle row, no where to put anything, on a plus point loads of leg room. Food was the best I have had in 39 years of flying.

A good airline, but at checking in, they allocated seats for my wife, and I far away from each other, and to change them, they wanted a payment, such a bad policy, it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth All was good on the plane, good food, but the air hostess was abrupt and a bit rough dealing with the passengers, but one has to find excuses for staff working under pressure

I found it okay. Did not think the food was that great. And the service could have been better. Seat was a little cramped. Delay getting to Istanbul made me rush all the way across the airport to get to the connection. This was a not good experience.

It was a safe flight with a friendly cabin crew.

The flight was never confirmed, I was not sent a ticket, and my account was charged for this flight. I’m trying to get my money back for a flight that was not booked or confirmed. Terrible experience

Online check-in was unavailable for my flight. So I waited 40 min in the queue at the check-in counter. Then, unlike any other airline in the world (and I am a very frequent international flyer) Pegasus was adamant that my CPAP was just another carry on and that I had to pay extra for it. Then, after I had paid in advance for a seat, they insisted I could not sit in an exit row because I was over 60 years old (I'm clearly in good shape and buy exit row seats more or less weekly). We pushed back harder and harder and insisted on talking to the station chief, who spoke with the counter staff by phone (not to me) and eventually relented. Experience on boarf was ok-- for a budget airline.

Not because when i try to do check in there is only in turkish language i can not select other language

The crew were outstandingly kind and cheerful. We carried our cat and they offered help.

Pegasus is a very efficient airline. Passengers, however are sometimes unruly. Getting up right after take off. Getting up right when we land and before getting to the gate. Switching seats to the front so she can get a better seat. It is unfair for those that actually paid for seats. Flight attendants seem to not enforce it. One or two bad actors ruins it. Overall, the airline is great.

All good but air not give the pasing er any food even glase of water

Flight delayed by 1hr when we already boarded because someone had to get off. Leg room is terrible for 6ft people like me.

Cheap and cheerful. It’s a super cheap, no frills flight. Very professional and as it’s an A320 relatively spacious. Seats do not recline. Happy with the service. You get what you pay for. Can’t complain

Didn't enforce passengers to wear medical grade masks nor that they even properly wear their masks throughout the flight. So it was lots of people of unknown vaccination status all around me without masks on the whole flight.
