KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)

  • There are available flights from most London area airports to Trivandrum International Airport (TRV), or Thiruvananthapuram Airport. Several airlines such as Etihad Airways, Air India and Qatar Airways offer one-stop service from London Heathrow Airport (LHR). Wizz Air and Pegasus flights involve multiple stopovers from London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and London Stansted Airport (STN) respectively.
  • If your flight departs from London Stansted Airport, Stansted Express from London Liverpool Street Station is a fast and convenient transport from Central London. Trains depart for London Stansted every 30min with a journey time of about 47min. Standard Express one-way fares start at about £19.90 per person with return fares at about £31.50 per person, but discounts apply when you book online. Stansted Express service is also available from Tottenham Hale and Stratford.
  • A Fast Track Security Pass provides access to an express line through security checkpoints at London Heathrow Airport terminals. Pre-order the service up to 2h in advance of your flight to safeguard a spot; present your confirmation to security officials for expedited service. Frequent flyer program members along with first and business class passengers may already be included, so make enquiries at check-in.
  • Take a load off and enjoy complimentary fare with table service, in addition to a range of amenities including free Wi-Fi, games and a library at one of the lounges at London Gatwick Airport. You can find Club Aspire, No1 Lounge, Clubrooms and My Lounge locations in both North and South Tower, where entrance fees start from about £25 up to £38, depending on the location.
  • With a London airport app, you can always stay abreast of live flight data and receive instant notifications regarding any changes to your flight’s schedule. The app also previews discounts on airport services like Fast Track, parking and lounge fees, as well as special promotions on behalf of participating airport shops and restaurants.
  • When landing in Thiruvananthapuram, using a rideshare app to arrange your transport to the city centre is an ideal option. It's often difficult to find a driver that understands enough English and negotiating can be difficult. There are specific pick-up points located outside of the Arrivals Hall of Thiruvananthapuram Airport (TRV) for the different rideshare companies.
  • If you're staying in the city centre, consider booking flights from London Heathrow (LHR) rather than London City Airport (LCY). The Heathrow Express is an affordable transfer option from the city centre and flights from Heathrow are usually cheaper for these routes.

The quality of food is going down comparing with old history of excellent food. It was cold and a bad quality. The crew is always excellent and caring.

Great flight - Clubhouse met our needs, and the staff provided good service. Boarding felt a little chaotic, but given the size of the aircraft, it's always going to be challenging. Whilst the crew were friendly, the number of passengers meant that we received our breakfast items, but had finished breakfast before we were served a drink. Lunch was much better organised, and throughout the flight, the crew were attentive. Found the seats and ICE to be excellent. Disembarkation was fine, and everything possible to expedite the process was being done.

The seating is spaced out nicely, The crew could have offer more drinks.

Excellent comfort and entertainment. Service poor..Food average with little choice.

Comfort good. Service as usual poor. Cabin temperature as usual too cold, about 15 degrees

Fresh energetic and friendly crew, great food, brand new plane and non stop entertainment

The boarding experience was worst ever. Single aerobridge used for boarding and deboarding which led to lot of chaos. Food options were not great. First flight delayed by more than 3 hours which led to missing of the next flight we were stuck at Dubai airport by more than 6 hours

Superb check in, lounge, boarding and flight experience. On time departure and before time arrival. Couldn’t have asked for more

Flights were both delayed. No luggage on arrival for the whole plane and no contact since submitting a PIR.

They had superb boarding (started an hour before flight time). Timely pushback from them gate and an early arrival. Flight and service was very comfortable. I wanted to move my flight to an earlier one, only thing was there was no one at emirates in Heathrow to help. Had to call the call the center and pay to change. There were ample seats on the flight though

Much better seats on Airbus 321. Food prices are very reasonable.

My flight BKK–SHJ–TBS was changed, and I was notified only by an email that went into my spam folder. I found out only 1 day before the flight when I checked in online. The new flight had a 15-hour layover in SHJ and arrived in TBS 1 day later than my original plan. I needed to adjust my plan urgently and lost the cost of one hotel night because the free cancellation period was over.

My flight BKK-SHJ-TBS was changed and I was notified only by email which went into spam folder. I found out only 1 day before the flight when I checked in online. The flight was slightly delayed because of change of plane but informed beforehand. Flight was very good and comfortable

Superb like always. On time and quite comfortable. Only thing is that the arrival movement was by bus.

We were boarded by bus. That was a bit of pain.

They lost the baggage and said it was deleted from the system. I had baggage tag so was able to file the complaint but there was no PIR number and update so far

I booked tickets for a family of five and specifically paid extra to select our seats together. We spent nearly $1,000 extra (around $100 per seat) for extra legroom so we could sit near each other. However, despite paying for this, we ended up being separated on the flight. This caused a major issue for our family because my parents do not speak English and rely on me to translate and assist them during the journey. I do not understand why Etihad changed our reserved seats without explanation. I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience. I expect the airline to do better, and I am requesting a full refund for the seat selection fees we paid.

1 hour delay meant missed my connecting flight and 1st day of holiday

Good service. But on flight to Kochi no entertainment except in app. And no working outlets to charge phone.

Etihad Check In counter/Station manager in Heathrow was bothering and not helpful at all. They are rude and not customer oriented

I am a larger than average person and in my opinion i don't think it's fair to allocate a window seat to anyone who is my size or larger, i was seated between 2 large passengers on a full aircraft. The guy in the window seat also occupied a portion of the middle seat (my seat) which made my experience of flying with etihad very cramped and uncomfortable, i was flying from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok. Had this been a airbus 380 it would have been better as the seats are larger but unfortunately it wasn't so i had to endure the 6+hrs unable to get any rest

Boarding was efficient, had to check in cabin luggage. Seats were narrow, food was more in quantity, received cabin luggage on the luggage belt which was fine.

The business class experience is fantastic. The crew were polite but often unavailable even when I tried to call them! I even found myself bringing my used dishes and cutlery up to the crew because no one had come to collect it after over an hour.

Food and beverage service have rooms for improvement .there were no entertainment facilities available

Very very bad service very tight seats never ever flying with Etihad again

I have paid extra money for my special meal service but I received the the local food. Which is not acceptable.

More entertainment channels and better food, whatever food requirement you select.

As I mentioned flight from NY to Bangalore was excellent but the return flight from Bahrain to NYC was mediocre, Looks like a old aircraft also not much choice in entertainment.

Pretty much what you'd expect for an economy flight. The crew were excellent as usual. The food was ok, but nothing special.

The Senior Flight attendant was just amazing on our Flight GF 284 on 30/11/25. She was so attentive, helpful and caring not just to us but to all in our cabin.

They flight was without ait conetion weather was very hot

I like it very much. Gulf Air is always the topper rank of the world. I love it very much.

The drinks should come before food. Unable to have any fluid unless after food. Thanks

Gulfair were on top form and everything went as planned

The boarding at Heathrow is chaotic. That's partly due to the lack of space and seating at gate 8, and a Qatar flight from gate 9 at the same time. That's down to Heathrow rather than Gulf Air. I've had a similar experience here before. Another problem which isn't specific to Gulf Air or Heathrow is announcements, and those for boarding in particular. They are difficult to hear with all the other noise and for me with hearing problems it's even worse. A simple tv screen would help, so long as it's updated of course.

I paid $110 for a seat located at the start of a section and therefor would not have a chair in front of it, but this is not what I received. The floor plan was different from when I booked my ticket. This is very disappointing and my money needs to be returned.

When landing in Hyderabad, the pilot made a hard landing. Everyone in the plane were shocked. The captain landed the plane hard and felt as if we were going to be thrown out from our seats. It was surprising the captain didn't apologize or make an announcement about. Again a surprise no crew acknowledge this. This was an odd experience!

I appreciated a meal on the shorter flight. It was slightly delayed with no announcement but I was able to determine what was happening.

Very comfortable flight. I appreciate the announcements were also in English.

Aircraft condition poor, no inflight entertainment, broken seats, seats worn, split armrests, flat seat cushions and seat would recline. Aircraft needs refitting completely!

The crew on the flight was great and the food was good. The flight was on time and in fact arrived earlier than scheduled. The boarding process however was not great. I had a business class ticket but I had to stand in line for about 20 minutes at the gate before I could board. The bottleneck is that at the gate they check the boarding pass and passport all over again and there is no separate lane for business class and there were only 1 agent. The aircraft is very old . The entertainment system is antiquated and the programming is sub par.

I did not expect from Tata group like this worst experience food is too worst

Things have improved still cleanliness of aircraft and maintenance of flights, still needs attention. Crew members have become more welcoming, which is indeed a welcomed change.

Chaotic/Crowded check in. Delayed departure from LHR, resulting in a very delayed Dinner service. Since takeover by the TATAs, Air-India has become Uber commercial and not in a good way, but more like Ryanair. Most seats are now sold and at too high prices (£24 add on for a single windows seat). The promised transformation into a better (clean), efficient and professional airline is nowhere in sight ☹️ Thanks

Horrible flight conditions. Entertainment system not working. Charging points not working.
