KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from Miami to Medellín Jose Maria Cordova Intl Airport

  • Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) is only a few miles away from Miami. If you want to avoid the queues at Miami International Airport (MIA), consider booking a flight that departs out of FLL Airport since it is less busy.
  • When booking connecting flights, avoid those that have the self-transfer option. While they may be cheap, they require you to check yourself and your bags into every flight, which can sometimes be quite hectic.
  • The Miami International Airport hotel is the only hotel located inside Miami International Airport. When flying out of MIA, consider staying here since it puts you right in the heart of the airport.
  • To save on ticket costs, go for connecting flights instead of booking one direct flight. Due to the added convenience of flying directly, most airlines will charge a higher price for direct tickets.
  • When traveling with a pet, ensure they are in their safe carriers at all times and aren’t being a nuisance to other travelers. The only time that they are allowed to be out is when using the pet relief areas.

Deplaning was a mess, I sat in business (seats are horrible) and the front door had a problem so we had to deplane from the rear exit. The stairs were not tall enough to reach so there was a large step down from the plane to the top of the stairs.

The seats were uncomfortable and barely reclined at all. Very little leg room despite being business class. The crew was friendly and the food was good. Had to use my own phone for in-flight entertainment.

Boarding was excessively slow. They do it by groups in a way that it doesn’t make sense. After business class , ppl that need assistance and any other priority group they should have ppl board from the back to the front. First rows 20+. Then 15+. Then 10, etc. having ppl sitting in the back board last makes no sense. The libe backame long as soon as ppl on rows 10 or so where told to board. The line went all the way up the ramp and tunnel for 25 mins.

Late departure. When the flight arrived in Medellin the plane sat at the gate for 20 minutes waiting for a bus for us to get off the plane.

I enjoyed it! In that case, I should have been offered this choice. On my first trip to Miami, I was asked to pay $320 for my luggage just for getting it totally broken. I cannot accept this situation at all!!!!

I was surprised that they didn’t offer drinks at least even though it was an international flight.

$120 for a carry on bag !!!!!! Insane. Back-breaking seats. Do not recline. Food service is a disgrace. They give only water and a salty snack. Everything else has a price.

Terrible. Flight was delayed without explanation, airplane was in poor condition (old, dirty) and crew was not in a good mood.

No complimentary snacks food, beverage (not even water), pillow and blanket on a 6 hours long flight (including economy comfort). A low form of nickeling an diming. Lost a recurring passanger over a soda. Avianca never again.

At least free water in all flights Beverages are desired in international flights Luggage damages need be refund!
