Because of the volume of flights leaving Doha airport, taxiing for take-off was almost 45minutes, so the flight was delayed. Qatar Airways does not use a jetway gate at Montreal YUL airport, so one has to plan for an additional 30min or so delay in getting off the airplane, going down steep steps, boarding buses and finally getting to the terminal. The buses drop international travelers at one end of the terminal, so there is a 15min walk to get to Immigration.
The plane cleanness, punctuality and crew attention was great. The airline is offering free fast wifi on the flight, however apparently without much policy on the use. Quite a few passengers felt the liberty to watch shorts or other content without headphones from their devices as well as talking for long durations over phone calls. This made a 4-hour, fully booked flight somehow difficult to bear.
One hour before landing was the most scary part of my life. The plane just dropped from the air . No explanation or apologies from the captain. Women and children screaming everywhere. Would like to know what happened
My flight going to doha had economy seats that had a little more leg room. Coming back the leg room was not there. I'm 6'3" and my knees were against the chair in front of me. I couldn't slide my feet under the chair. The 15 hour flight felt like torture from the lack of sleep I was getting being so uncomfortable. Food and crew were great though.
Flew first class. Was excellent. Lovely crew. Seats were amazing and could convert to flat bed on the A320 we Flew. Good food and drinks choices.
Qatar Airways has consistently established a standard in my mind that very few airlines manage to sustain, and once again, this Economy Class journey reaffirmed precisely why. As an avid globetrotter who travels extensively for work, I experience many airlines, service cultures, and interpretations of hospitality. What continues to distinguish Qatar Airways is not any single element, but the complete proposition: professionalism, courtesy, warmth, attentiveness, consistency, and a genuinely polished hospitality culture. There is a reassuring confidence that comes with boarding Qatar because, over many journeys, the airline has simply never underdelivered against the expectations it has established for me. This particular journey was especially memorable. I had recently been promoted to Gold tier with Qatar Airways Privilege Club, was travelling on my birthday, and was flying into India on Indian Independence Day. Collectively, that made this considerably more than another flight. The crew made the personal element truly exceptional. Cabin Supervisor Hershel and Cabin Crew Ali deserve particular recognition. Their hospitality went well beyond procedural service; they took the initiative to acknowledge my birthday and, using the resources available onboard, thoughtfully assembled a small presentation with KitKat chocolates and dessert to wish me. It was simple, spontaneous, genuine, and immensely memorable. For someone who spends a considerable part of life travelling, these are precisely the moments that transcend service delivery and become lasting memories. That is where Qatar continues to excel: exceptionally well trained, composed, aligned, and polished crew who can deliver consistency without appearing mechanical. The human warmth remains evident, and individual colleagues repeatedly find ways to distinguish themselves. One small opportunity would have made the occasion even more complete. As we were travelling from Doha to India on 15 August, still within Indian Independence Day, a subtle acknowledgement of India celebrating its 80th Independence Day, perhaps simply wishing the Indian guests onboard on this proud occasion, would have been a thoughtful and culturally resonant gesture. It certainly does not detract from an excellent journey, but would have added another meaningful dimension to an already memorable flight. The only substantive disappointment was that my checked luggage did not complete the journey with me from Seattle (SEA), via Doha (DOH), to Kolkata (CCU), having been delayed in Doha. A baggage exception report is already on file with the local airport team in Kolkata. Given the confidence Qatar Airways has earned from me over the years, I remain optimistic that they will once again live up to that standard, work their magic, and reunite me with my luggage within the next 24 hours. Overall, another exceptional experience and one I will genuinely cherish. Hershel and Ali, thank you for making my birthday in the skies so memorable. Way to go, Qatar Airways. Please continue investing in and developing your cabin professionals to this calibre. When service excellence is combined with authentic human connection, an ordinary journey becomes an experience a passenger remembers long after landing.
It was excellent except for at the very end. I woke up about 1.5 hrs before touchdown and wanted to order food in the Business class. I was told they had shut down food service. It would have been good to get a heads up before they closed the service. Anna the air hostess was wonderful. She did get me 2 bowls of fruit and I was very appreciative of her. Wonderful human and a hostess.
The boarding was truly bizarre. The staff did not know about the fast pass biometrics and I had to block the line digging out my passport. Then when we got to the aero bridge, we could not board and instead were lined up in 3 lines for 10 minutes before we could actually step on the plane. The last 3 rows in the middle on the 797-9 do not have overhead lockers and the side lockers were all filled with crew bags and spare paper cups. The whole ground experience at Doha airport was strange. Staff seemed to be mainly decorative and were not very competent, but they were pleasant.
Amazing airline accommodations. The cabins were so great. The food was very good and the flight attendants were so nice. Made a 15 hour flight seem easy.
I paid extra for seating when first booking flight to be in a comfortable economy seat They still changed it to a middle seat regardless. When I asked for it to be changed back to aisle, they could only give me one at the back of the plane in the least comfortable seats.
Taking the bus from the terminal to the plane isn't an easy experience, especially when traveling with an elderly person and have to carry the carry-on bags up the plane stairs.
ABSOLUTELY THE WORST AIRLINE. LOST LUGGAGE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER BOOK
They robbed me, filed a complaint and they ignored me
We missed our connection and they put us in a hotel our luggage didn't get rerouted with us so we arrived with no luggage
The crew was friendly, 5/5 stars. The food was better than ok, 3.5/5 stars. The seats were tight, 3/5 stars. The entertainment was 2/5 stars because of lack of WiFi.
Delay, no announcements, no support to fast track transfer in Casablanca, made the connection despite all but my bag didn’t make it.
Hot plane. No AC for 3 hours in the middle of Summer.
They canceled my flight and they haven’t reimbursed me yet.
The flight attendants were very nice, friendly and went above and beyond in making our journey pleasant.
