Napa is a city in California at the southern end of the Napa Valley. As it is one of the major wine regions in the world there are plenty of sprawling vineyards to explore; and no trip to the area would be complete without visiting at least one winery.
There are a few international airports that travellers can land at for their Napa Holidays. Among them are San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport. There are scheduled Evans Transportation shuttles between the San Francisco and Oakland airports to Napa itself. Once arrived travel in style with the Elegant Wine Tour chauffeur which offers Napa winery visits in a limousine. Napa is eight hours behind GMT, and has a Mediterranean climate. Consequently, it has wet winters but very little rainfall during the summer. The best time for Napa holidays is during the autumn harvest season.
One of the best destinations to visit for wine tasting tours is the The Hess Collection Winery & Art Museum. Their winery tours give an overview of the history of the vineyards, and visitors can sample wines such as chardonnay as they browse the local art on display. Another way to explore the vineyards is to go to the summer Music In The Vineyards Festival, which offers various wine samples, live music and is held amidst the stunning landscape of surrounding Napa.
Aside from vineyards there are also a variety of theatre venues in Napa. The Uptown Theatre in the West End district showcases a number of live performances. At the Napa Valley Opera House there is theatre, jazz, blues and a city winery serving crisp, full-bodied flavours from the Napa Valley. There are also numerous golf courses in the region to play a relaxing round, such as the Chardonnay Golf Club championship course and nine-hole Mount St. Helena Golf Course.
