The perfect balance between a nicely remodeled clean, safe and affordable room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating the location is perfect if you were planning on staying in the Anaheim or LA area, but don't want to deal with the normal trouble associated with LA hotels. Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. This is the hotel base of operations for the local refinery workers, and things can get a little rowdy at night. The staff was nice enough to put me in one of the front rooms, which was much quieter on Night two.
helpful staff, free wireless internet and comfortable rooms includuing a fridge check-in could have been quicker
Very very clean I don't have any complaints about this place
By the appearance, it looks very clean and neat. We found bed bugs a few hours after we arrived and left immediately. Not worth $91
The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The hotel was very clean. No elevators.
Great breakfast. Again, it is no longer a Quality Inn. This made for a lot of driving around looking for the Quality Inn that is now a Clarion.
Your room keys are very poor, mine worked only after trying for several minutes, the secound day they would not work at all !!!!
The hotel staff was very nice. Very old room, not sure the sheets are laundered. Unfortunately it was the only room available. Had to run next door to the store and buy some flea spray and also Febreze before I could even unpack.
Nothing My room smelled like if it was a smoking, but I had requested a non smocking room. The front desk man said it was a non smoking, but that people don't listen to him. And he wanted us to deal with it. I wouldn't go back.
Location, spacious room, clean bathroom, free parking and WiFi. Carpet had built up dirt.
The frontdesk personnel Everything, too much noise, dirty floor, cockroaches in room, no water in room, people rumning at 1am, people smoking weed at the pool
Do not like and should be closed for morket Rooms are dirty. Not secureMy luggage was stolen from the room.Someone took away our luggage from the window which is covered by linen so we do not know whether it is open but ...so staff is with the thief.
Nothing Customer service Sucks
free breakfast quality of the room, staff and service.
Location The Blankets were old and itchy.. Also the cleaners failed to clean urine off the seat some how. They did just give us a new room which was nice. Staff there is actually ok. Well at least the lady that worked at night.
Spacious room, modern bathroom, great location.
The room was not cleaned from the previous stay, beds were a mess not made. Trash, staff cleaned poorly. Staff was only going to change bed linens and not blankets, after I noticed, and asked for clean blankets the staff indicated they only wash 1 wk.
Convenient drive from there to the funeral I was attending the next morning. Easy check out Parking fee and got the very last parking spot at night
clean & great location THe undisclosed fee to park at hotel. $10 a night which was never disclosed on either website, NOT RIGHT!!!!
In the middle of Long Beach downtown. You could walk to local restaurant. Free breakfast was good. Nothing I didn't like
Location was great. 15 minute walk to the Pike and waterfront location. Close to restaurants, and shopping. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and plenty of parking. The pool was a little small.
The hotel is clean and the rooms look modern and up to date. The location in downtown Long Beach is pretty central if you want to be in Long Beach. Two double beds instead of two queens, lots of sound traveling between rooms, not a very good shower, room was on the smaller side, check-in issues were an annoyance and were due to staff's actions. Price quite high for what we got.
Cleanliness and friendly AM staff No room service
Great Location for the Convention Center, lots of restaurant's in the area, and the comp. breakfast was good The comp. breakfast should be extended to 10:30AM , Refrigerator in rooms would be good improvement. The coffee pot and ice bucket should not be kept in the bathroom, its unsanitary
It was so close to shoreline and pine avenue You could hear through the rooms
It was clean and comfortable . I liked that it had things you might forget like a razor , sewing kit, toothbrush , ect. Not enough seating area at breakfast.
Staff friendly Parking could have been better, no big deal, we arrived late!
Location if hotel And cleanliness. the pool looked deceptivly large on the website. It was basically a giant hot tub. The staff was not accommodating. I wanted an earlier check in @ 2:15, I had three small children and apparently no rooms were clean. The breakfast was shady at best and not much room. I had to take the food into my room. This is the last Best Weatern I stay in.
The rooms were spacious and very clean. No complaints.
Rooms looked modern It was over priced. Def not a 3 star. Bugs in room. Bad area! No tv signal even worse was the Internet signal!!! I would and will not recommend Hotel Current! Place.
The maintenance guy, when we were finally able to get the front desk to have him check out our room, was a fast worker and great to talk to. The bathroom was really nice, aside from the faucet not being screwed on (maintenance guy fixed it), shower gel container they provided was broken, and toilet looked about 20 years old. They gave us a bottle of wine since we were there for our honeymoon. It's really a motel, not a hotel. Room was not artsy, eclectic, or colorful like they advertise- it was brown, beige, and black with only 2 splashes of color in the whole room. Housekeeping sucked- didn't vacuum when there were obvious areas of food crumbs, left the garbage can on the toilet, didn't replace ice bag, didn't notify maintenance of problems with room (he specifically said they're supposed to do that). Internet was practically nonexistent and we were only allowed two devices. No HDMI hookups on the tvs. Front desk wasn't very helpful and didn't notify maintenance the first time we came to them with problems. Curtain was ripped so 6 inches of light poured in the room. People smoked outside our room so the smoke smell got in our room die to the 1 inch gaps around the door. They overpriced every service ($2 to wash laundry, $1.75 to dry laundry, $3 minimum to use their computer and $0.50 for each additional minute, $1-1.50 to print per page, etc.). No hot tub, just the pool, though the pool was nice.
It was value for money and the staff were great! There were not enough facilities in the room
The rooms were very big. Bathroom was great.
Good money value - better than expected Cleanliness and nice furniture Lots of lighting in the room Breakfast only starts at 6:30AM Difficulties to excess wifi through multiple devices
The hotel was nice, clean and the location was close to downtown long beach, staff was really friendly and helpful. Our stay was great, beds were really comfortable and our room came with a fridge and microwave. Would comeback to stay for next years Long Beach marathon. Only thing wrong was the walls are a bit thin you could hear door close from other rooms down the building. But other than that's no other problems.
Very clean and the staff was great, very nice and accommodating! Location was a little noisy and the power went out for 5 hours one night. I know they can't always control that but looked like it was just the hotel that was out, not sure what was going on.
Very comfortable beds; clean room (trivial) Limited number of power outlets; TV remote had poor range
The staff were very nice and very accommodating. They helped us with all of our requests. Highly recommend and also in one of the safer areas in LA. I was horrified to see some of the things I saw in California and didn't realize Long Beach was considered "safe" as I am from Australia and we don't have much crime or homeless! It was really an eye opener and we didn't like LA at all. We left the next day, but that's not to say the hotel wasn't good, and the area was away from the horrible areas like downtown LA. If you've never been here be prepared! Only certain areas are OK and that's because the police kick out the homeless from areas like Beverley Hils and Malibu. It's not safe at all HATE everything about LA. Never coming back. Visit Australia, and then you'll know why I say what I say
We liked Best Western because it had a shuttle to the cruise Horrible location, ice machine not working couldn't find it anywhere, refrigerator not working, bed and comfortable pillows horrible, staff had no answers to any of our questions and were unable to accommodate us for any inconveniences.
Helpful staff. Parking. Free but tight.
Nice Staff, loved the shuttle and the free breakfast Horrible Wi-fi, kicked off every few minutes. The area around hotel is pretty ghetto, lots of homeless people.
Best value for a modest hotel. Conveniently located with excellent desk help. Amenities are good and most important good mattress and pillows.
Friendly staff Bad area
The rooms were clean. The staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast was great. Having the Metro right across the street turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Even though we had no idea what we were doing, others from the area were quite helpful. It was a fun adventure. We would definitely stay here again. The pool was a bit on the small side.
The room was very clean and nice. Had a fridge and microwave which is very useful when you don't want to spend much on food. The staff was rude and unprofessional! We arrived earlier than expected and yes we made a mistake of when our check in date was but the guy working overnights was not willing to help us find other hotels with rooms. We decided to park outside the hotel because we were hungry and he came out and told us to leave and asked why we didn't go find a room. They also had a lot of miscommunication of when we could check in the next day. The hotel manager was helpful though
AC didn't work correctly and there was a strange odor in the building. Beds were also not very comfortable.
Checking out!! Changing rooms! I would not stay at this hotel again. The walls are paper thin, Brothel springs to mind, we heard things noone should ever have to hear!! The restaurant was rather expensive, try Jack in the Box next door!
One of the employees with the kitchen was seriously the greatest human being on the planet. She made our trip, her enthusiasm and excitement was amazing! Refrigerator didn't work bu the next day they fixed it. Food was always cold.
The bed was comfortable, check in was easy and it was accessible to shops. The toilet was a bit clogged.
Free breakfast, nice staff. The surrounding rooms were loud. There was no pool or gym. Cleaning wasn't done everyday.
Clean Quiet Easy check in and out No ice machine on each floor. It was hidden in a weird looking garage next to the lobby. Uncomfortable towels Limited breakfast items, should be more than just cheap bread, frozen waffles and 2 kinds of cereals The hallway smells bad There are exactly one table and 2 chairs in the office for breakfast. I didnt have anywhere to sit down. Creepy looking staff in the morning.
Everything was as advertised. Great location and friendly staff.
Get longer curtains.
The location was nice for what I needed and the cleaning staff delivered anything we asked for quickly and were very friendly. The manager has absolutely no customer service skills. I was charged an extra night that I did not use and she REFUSED to speak to me about the charge. I understand if I did something wrong but at least have the customer appreciation to talk to me. There was a clog in our shower from hair. Another group's shower knob freely spun so they were unable to change the temperature of their showers. I won't stay at a Ramada Inn again.
The staff was knowledgable and very friendly. The historical information was incredible both posted and what staff knew. Being able to explore many places on the ship on our own was really fun. Wish there was a microwave in the room.
It's a cool, old cruise ship. It's kind of a tourist destination in itself. Also, it's really close to the helipad if you're taking the helicopter to Catalina. Overall, the boat felt old and empty and dingy. The bathroom looked a little dirty —probably just age—and there were lightbulbs missing from some of the fixtures in our room. I wanted it to be like stepping back in time, but that wasn't the experience on a weekday. Maybe weekends are better?
The Queen Mary is an amazing hotel: historic, beautiful and a great location! We can't wait to stay there again!!!
Atmosphere, history The bathroom wall in the shower was peeling. Looks like they don't maintain their rooms.
the novelty of staying in an ocean liner the value for price, the staff, the size of the room, the parking, the lack of amenities onboard, the check-in process,
I enjoyed the history, as the ship is a museum. I also enjoyed the scariness of it. I caught orbs in my room, B505, and it was spooky. I enjoyed the feeling of being on a ship and the sights from the decks. I don't know if the rustic feel is part of the theme but it seems as if it could use some maintenance.
Right next door to the Carnival port. Enjoyed the self guided tour of the ship. The rooms are large. We had a 3 person room which consisted of one large room with a king bed with an adjoined small room with a twin bed and bathroom. They offer free shuttle to/from downtown Long Beach. They charge $35 to check in before 4pm. They charge parking for hotel guests. The rooms, food, and drinks are overpriced. The bedding was dirty, and it didn't look like they have ever vacuumed under the bed. There was a fire alarm at midnight. The submarine was closed.
Cool old ship. It's old ship, so the rooms are a bit old and not exactly sparkling clean. But the real issue is the Dark Harbor, haunted house event that goes on in October. We were not informed till arriving that are room would be adjacent to this raucous event. From 7pm until 1 am in the morning, extremely loud music, screaming, grass breaking and roaring gas flame would shoot off. It's criminal that the Queen Mary would rent rooms next to this mess. Oh but the front desk gives out cheap ear plugs, so that makes it all better.... not. We were on our one year anniversary and needless to say, were extremely disappointed and frustrated,
We left to go to Catalina and asked them to hold wedding cake til we returned later that eve. When we got there they had put the cake in one of the catering refrigerators, and didn't know which one. Front desk people said the catering manager had left and he was only 1 with key & asked if we could come back the following day, which we couldn't. I said someone must have a key. He called around & finally someone said to check w/security, who had the key. I waited 35 mins. to get my cake. Why didn't person at front desk, and the manager he called, know security would have a key. Or why didn't they put it in a refrigerator they could get to knowing we were coming back that eve.
There was no hot water in the shower. I told the staff I was sick and needed my room right away and they didn't really seem to care.
Being Located near Long Beach was the main reason i booked. It was so easy in the morning to get into Port of long Beach, cruise terminal, downtown and aquarium. I would only give 3 stars for cleanness. It's old cruise so you can't expect the bathroom to be modified or anything but seem to work sometimes, the shower and flusher was an issue in the room I stayed.
Unique and different. Good food although pricey as well. Lot's of things to do and see. Lot's of channels in room. Bed a bit small... We went during a special event and spent extra for the winter "chill" event. avoid at all costs. totally overpriced for what you get. Most disappointing part of our trip.
Conveniently located at the intersection of HWY 110 and HWY 1 in southern Los Angeles, the best Western Worldport is a reasonably priced hotel. The accommodations for our party were modest but clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. The continental breakfast is good, and considers special needs (such as gluten free options and almond milk), which is appreciated.. there are also several local options for food, including a Dennys right next door. Note that some rooms may be designated for smoking, despite the California prohibition on smoking in public accommodations -- we had to request a change to ensure we got non-smoking rooms, but wthat was resolved quickly.
The staff was very courteous from the moment we arrived and very helpful the entire time. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Long Beach area in the future.
We (either spouse and/or kid) have stayed here at least once a year and have watched it undergo many improvements, it is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be close to the Queen Mary but would like to avoid the noise or prefer a larger room and a pool. Since it is set up like a motel, you have to walk over between buildings and to the pool. The Sunday brunch is fantastic, there is a cute sand area for the kids, decor is cute and the facility always appears clean. I have not used any of the service options (in room or pool side) due to some really bad experiences prior to the change of ownership. During the last stay there was a music festival at the Queen Mary which is to say that it was difficult to get to the hotel and once there, parking was difficult and people were pre-partying around the hotel. We had dinner reservations on the QM and the woman at the front desk offered a golf cart shuttle to the ship. On our way to the room we watched concert goers jockey for a space on the golf cart and then proceed to sit on one another's lap to fit. When we later approached the golf cart pick up area we were relieved to find it empty. A person identifying himself as a manager informed me "this cart isn't working, the battery is out" and then he clarified that it was the only one they had. Lame. In the end we were able to get to dinner in 10 minutes via sturdy Louboutins and the walk path but I would have liked a more professional handling of the situation.
The atmosphere, view and vibe was relaxing and incredible !! the guy at the front desk was really respectfull and helpfull and even gave us free fresh baked choclate cookies at check in and compt our parking for our visit , think his name was Noor ... Highly recomend and will definitley be coming back soon ! Thumbs upppp
Easy access to bus line ( bus line is Clean an convenient) takes you to downtown long beach. Free shuttle to cruise ship terminal. Great pool and pool bar staff. Cool/funky mayan theme throughout.
I would recommend a water view. It was a great! Nothing
The views, particularly at night. It was undergoing renovation of one of the towers. Some noise etc. associated with that although it stopped by 5 pm. The staff at the restaurant was really terrible when I had a late lunch. I have stayed there before and enjoyed good service, but it was quite bad on this trip. I waited for at least ten minutes while waiters walked by me and waited on tables seated after I was. There were only 6 or so tables total as it was late afternoon. At one point my waiter talked to the table next to me about personal matters for about ten minutes and then walked off without coming by my table or refilling my water. My experience with all other staff was excellent. The restaurant staff is entirely responsible for the Okay rating.
Nice waterfront location Hard to fine by drivers
Beautiful view and location, and very nice room. The staff was very nice to deal with. The price was a little high, and the rug in the room should be replaced.
We especially liked the location and the service by the front desk. Fuego is a great place to dine. Unfortunately, we were placed next to a family that were loud and disrespectful until late night. The hotel staff tried to quiet them; however, it took many attempts. It was not the real fault of the hotel; but it did make our stay unpleasant.
The location of the hotel was great. There were plenty of stores and restuarants to take care of all your needs. The only thing I didn't like was I that wasn't aloowed to use my triple a discount. But other than that the hotle was excellent.
Staff were excellet and plotted my route when pressed for time. Good bed and internet access.
Clean, comfortable. Poor quality of toiletries.Thin walls - room over the breakfast room - heard everything.
Clean room and comfortable bed and a/c was working. There was also a nice breakfast and free parking. there was no elevator, had a lot of bags I had to drag upstairs. The laundry room was out of order. Staff seemed confused at morning checkout, said I was listed as a no show?
The location, room & pool The front desk was helpful , housekeeping was very good,, breakfast staff was clean & food was GREAT (eggs, cereal, waffles, fruit, juice & coffee). Friendly staff
Great location, shopping nearby. comfort inn is currently under construction.
Excellent location, has many food joints around, good for family or business
The room looked and smelled clean. This was not the best location, if you want the convention center there is still travel required.
Very close to LAX Staff was very rude and unwilling to help.
Location near the airport. Breakfast included in room price. Proximity to food court. Free print-out of boarding passes. Shuttle pick-up at, airport, only after telephone request: no regular pick-up. This is most inconvenient as, arriving from abroad, our telephones do not work in the USA. Not knowing this in advance caused us to wait more than an hour before returning inside the airport terminal to inquire at the tourist information desk. The comment of the tourist information desk attendant was, "Oh, Travelodge South LAX has ___tty service". In comparison, the shuttle of Travelodge Century Boulebvard made 2 rotations before I went and calledTravelodge South LAX from the Tourist information desk. The room we occupied was inadequately sound-proofed. I know that US hotels are notorious for this, but our room seemed particularly subject to incursions of noise; from around and above. The battleship gray paint, used for the exterior walls, has the effect of camouflaging the hotel so that it disappears from view.
Staff was friendly and efficient. Access to LAX very good. Rooms were inexpensive. Facility was a bit down at the heels; stains on carpet and furniture surfaces. Toilet did not flush. Breakfast had no fruit or protein.
We checked in at there check in time but the room was not ready. We were asked to return in an hr. Upon our return the room was still not ready!!! I was very patient with them but VERY disappointed in the quality of service!!!
The staff was wonderful. Truly made our stay better. Nothing :)
close to LAX,provides shuttle service to/from airport, room was comfortable and quiet breakfast did not include any fruit
Close to the airport, with shuttle service. Clean. Five dollars extra for parking--the usual gouge of hotels but, for a motel, a ridiculous charge. The rooms are tiny. The price was too high.
close proximity to the airport. They have no pick up when I arrived at 0130. I have to find my own transportation in the early morning. they said they would refund my taxi ticket but has to have a printed receipt. Of course I could not have one as I was traveling. To use their computer to print it would cost me almost the fee of the Uber. Forget it!
The shuttle was conveinet. Roderick the front desk man was funny and helpful. I didnt like how in front of us checking in their was a group of irresponsible swearing mid 20 year olds. The walk to our room was long and cold. We tookthe 6 am shuttle but I wasnt able to eat your " continental breakfast".
The facility itself was not that bad. Location Customer service was horrible. I stood at the front desk for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. There was two people at the front desk and none bothered to even say anything. One was on the phone and the other was just sitting there. I was told over the phone several times before arrival that I could request a roll away bed if needed. I planed on having my son over for a night or two. Upon requesting one on arrival I was told they would get me one. I later received a call questioning how many guests I had and harassing me as to how many guests I could have in the room. (after I had already explained this to the front desk prior to making a reservation). They refused to move us to a bigger room. The break feast was a joke. It was completely messy with cereal and spilled liquid all over the place. The trash was overflowing and there was obviously plenty of staff to take care of it. The internet was down about 30% of my four day stay. The room and air conditioner smelled like urine. The hotel facility itself was no bad at all. This place definitely needs new management. They need to start by training and/or simply hiring front desk staff with better manners and people skills. The information given needs to be consistent with the actual hotel policies. This was just a bad experience. We travel frequently and hardly ever deal with so many issues at once. Again with better management, I think this hotel has the potential to offer so much more. We paid a ( Marriot ) 5 star price for this room and we probably could of got better service at motel 6 for less than a quarter of what we paid a night. This is just my 2 cents and observations. Stay here if you just want a place to sleep.
The bed was comfy, AC worked well, location was close to a lot. Best of all tho was the Wifi, it was incredibly strong, never had a problem streaming Netflix. Carpet was dirty, sheets & towels had old dingy feel, furniture was old and all scratched up, refrigerator barely worked, shower head had no pressure, almost no hot water, constantly had lil flys in the bathroom, lots of escort visits.

Non-smoking room had ridiculously strong smell of smoke Cigarette burn holes in comforter Someone's car was broken into in the parking lot (okay maybe just the car alarm went off, but we couldn't help but wonder) Constant police sirens in this neighborhood People swearing on the balcony outside of rooms After an hour we just decided to abandon the room even though it was prepaid and stay elsewhere.
Mattress smelled heavily of smoke. Febreze between visits could be used. Flat screen tv was a plus
staff of the hotel are friendly everything are fines
i like the location its quiet and accessible spacious parking. the water has a bit ocean salt smell maybe due to the fact that the location is near a salty river but all in all good location and price.
Price Lighting. Neighborhood.
I thought this room was great for the price. (TV microwave, fridge) The location was ideal (there was no outside noise to disturb us). The hotel is conveniently located near the Home Depot Event Center (and our visit to Cal State Dominguez Hills for a basketball tournament) I saved this hotel as a favorite site on my Map Quest account for future use.

ok hotel mattress smelled strongly of smoke next time try febreze
Excellent quality furnishings, the staff was very welcoming.
Read some reviews after I prepaid and didn't have high hopes. Got the none smoking room and it was OK. Plesently suprised that the room and small fridge, microwave and a wet bar! Did hear some street traffic in the early morning hours, free breakfest was OK, cold cereal, toast, coffe and juice. Just needed the room to get laid
Nice remodelded room , maid service done well every day. Said pool but now gone, bummer. easy to find and we felt safe in the area. Well kept outside and owners very nice. Was always pretty full, a good sign. Enjoyed our time there.
The staff had no idea how to handle booking.com customers and treaded us like second class customers. The breakfast buffet is weird, it's one buffet for continental and american breakfast. As booking.com customer, you are not allowed to touch the american breakfast items.
The staff was rude and even lied about the rooms I booked. I had booked a room with double beds only and they gave us a king. I told them I had comfermation that it was double beds and they said it I could not find them and print it out, it was just too bad for me. Luckily, I did find it....it said double beds only....so they finally gave us the room. The staff person to.d me I booked a king...I I to.d him he was wrong and he hung up. It was a bad experience. I had to speak to the manager and the home office and print out the paper that promised me a double bed room before anything was done. Never had such a bad e perience.
Pillows and beds are perfect.
Rooms were lovely and reception staff were very friendly
rely was normal hotel, nothing is spacial
Excellent facilities. Very efficient service. Only one restaurant/ bar open in the evenings. No restaurants/ bar nearby. Consequently, service was slow.
Are room was right next to the service elevators which kept us up all night long. Only thing the staff would do was discount the valet parking charges. Won't stay there again!
It was clean. And staff was very kind . I paid in advance online for 2 Queen beds, and checking in at 5:30 we were told they only had a king! Then we go to park our cars and the spaces are like for Barbie's car !wayyyy to narrow spaces & posts that many cars have played tag with! The location is just ok...tO far from Pine Ave & 2nd Street where all the restaurants & shops are ! And they charge $15 per car per day to park in that horrible parking structure! They had NO shuttle for around town locally. The walls are thin, we had neighbors on both sides of us keeping us awake all night, laughing & partying!
We spent 4 nights at the Doubletree before going on a Panama Cruise and we enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is located in a quiet area but close walking to restaurants, etc. The surroundings are lovely and also it's very convenient to the docks for people going on a cruise. Another bonus is that the hotel supplies transporation to the docks when you ready to board the ship. All in all staying at the Doubletree was a very pleasant experience and my husband and I would highly recommend it.
I actually stayed at the wrong place. Our cruise was leaving from Long beach instead of San Pedro, Ca. The hotel provided transportation to Long Beach. which is not their standard procedure. We enjoyed our stay at a very lovely place.
If you have a boat, this is the perfect place to stay. People are nice. Service was great. Location is a bit out of the way to cruise around LA, but great if you are just staying around Long Beach.
Hotel was nice with a good restaurant. Fun place to walk around with a park close by. Great shuttle to cruise line.
This hotel does not transport to Carnival Cruise lines terminal in Long Beach. I was misinformed when I called Doubletree San Pedro and asked about shuttle transportation. I was told that they provided it as a complementary service but failed to tell me that this did not include Carnival Cruise Lines (which I was sailing on!) I found the service efficient but not friendly. The dining room staff was very friendly and quick to resolve a problem I had with their white rice (which was terrible!). They resolved this matter quickly. The room was comfortable but the TV needed replacing as it had a terrible picture. It's a clean and safe location but not a 5 star hotel.
WE STAYED THERE THE EVENING BEFORE A CRUISE AND LOVED IT...IT WAS BEAUTIFUL...SERVICE WAS GREAT AND WE LEFT OUR CAR THERE UNTIL WE ARRIVED AND WERE PICKED UP BY THE HOTEL VAN. IT REALLY WAS A NICE START TO A GREAT VACATION.
We took the Super Shuttle from LAX. First stop was another hotel. We were in awe of the people getting out at this stop because the hotel was so 'rich' looking. The first stop seemed so 'tight' because the hotel was embedded in the city. We didn't know what to expect at Doubletree. Next stop was the Doubletree San Pedro. Oh my gosh, we felt so lucky! Everything was perfect. The room was clean and well appointed. The balcony was roomy and refreshing. The weather was fabulous. The hotel shuttle took up to a restaurant nearby and picked us up. The morning of our cruise, we have a wonderful buffet breakfast. I would recommend this place just because of the beautiful views. Looking out at the marina was breathtaking plus we saw our cruise ship arrive the next morning! Just try to get a room with a balcony.
In short, the hotel presents itself as an upper scale water front stay, but is in fact worn down and dirty. The rooms and buildings are showing their age, and have TERRIBLE up keep. Wost of all is the completely dishonest and apathetic staff. The front desk manager tried to at first give me a completely different room than what I had reserved and pre-paid for, then tried to give me a sub standard room. When told that I wanted the room I paid for, I was told that despite being 30 minutes past check in time, my room wasnt ready. I came back later in the evening and got a room of the type I had reserved. It was in poor repair, with exposed wires and loose electrical outlet covers, dirty bathroom, and stank of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking room. The next morning there was NO WATER. When I called to ask what was going on, I was essentially told 'tough luck'. I will spare you the saga of trying to deal with management and corporate. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
Room not ready an arrival. Room not cleaned the next day until after several phone calls. Noisy party on balcony next door not quieted until after phone call. Abt 130 AM.
The rooms were nice. The food in the restuarant was very good. The view of the marina was lovely. The staff was courtesy and helpful. The only downside is that the pool, although heated, was outside and it was not quite warm enough to utilize. The fitness facility was stocked with good equipment. I would recommend staying here.
We had a very nice 1 night stay at the Double Tree in San Pedro, CA. We ate in the resturant and the food was quite tasty. It was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The front desk people were very helpful and got the room ready for us before the designated check in time, as we arrived early. I loved their cookies! 4 thumbs up out of 5!!!
As I sit in my run down room with no hot water for the second day in a row, I feel the need to warn any potential guests of this facility to not be swayed by the great views of the marina. That's really the only redeeming factor for this poor excuse for a Hilton property. The furniture in the rooms is shabby , dirty and in need of replacement. I do not have a desk chair, but a chair from the banquet facility. No hot water for two days and a staff that could give a flip. I stayed T this hotel last month and I had no airconditioning. I will not be coming back.
Booked online for a room with a double bed. Reservation confirmation after booking the reservation snuck in "double or king." When we arrived at the hotel, there were no rooms with double beds and not even any rollaway beds. So I canceled the reservation. Kayak may not be the responsible provider, but when the website option selected is room with double beds and that's the primary reason for my selection of the particular hotel, they better have that kind of room available to backstop my booking. Otherwise, it's false advertising. I will think twice before using Kayak again to book a hotel room.
Breakfast was very expensive, but also very good. No fridge, no ice machine on my floor, very dirty bath tub, uncomfortable bed, no outlets by mirror, outlets by bed did not work,
The hotel itself was beautiful, and edgy. Everything was an additional charge and expensive. I've stayed in NY and never thought i'd see pancakes sold at $15. I also would expect a hotel to include wi-fi. Water for $5???
The staff was very helpful and nice. The price was high for what you get at the hotel. I have stayed in very nice hotels that offer a more luxurious feel. Also, there were protesters there outside the main entrance almost every morning around 0700. You could easily hear them and it was quite obnoxious.
Elevator music vapid & hilariously loud Wi Fi not free @ these prices? Told suite would have welcome basket w champagne--got nothing No newspaper weekends @ these prices?
Good location. Near shopping and the beach. Construction made accessing/finding front of hotel difficult. Hotel had no signs indicating where entrance was located and no street level signage visible. Confirmation emails did not indicate hotel was under construction. Room service would not take our breakfast order, weird.
And prRoom was nice. But the staff was very helpful
Super clean and nice. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to leave it. Beautiful pool deck on the roof where you can eat and relax. The shower was amazing. Super large.
Everything was great No shuttle service
Very comfortable. Nice stay. Staff were friendly. Iron didn't work. Vanity mirror didn't work. One request from staff wasn't filled. No microwave.
Modern feel, staff friendly Parking 16$ extra per night! (Hidden cost) pool not heated and small. Did not like outlet mall being attached to hotel.
Comfortable room. Nice bathroom. Price was too much.
J'aime boucoup le location. J'aime pas de petit roms et parking.
Clean. Upscale. Comfortable Cost per night
