Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "I had a 3 hour layover in Auckland before my connecting flight to Queenstown on the South Island. Quantas delays in Melbourne wiped that out forcing me to pay $500 NZD for a later flight on Air NZ. After contacting with Air NZ customer service and explaining the circumstances, they reduced it to $100 NZD. Pretty cool. Quantas basically said that since I had purchased a rock bottom priced ticket I should take a flying you know what at a rolling donut."
Cons: "Staff only do the minimum they don’t go out of their way to make your experience special, unfortunately if you don’t ask you don’t get"
Pros: "The crews were very polite and efficient."
Cons: "The seats were excellent, but the storage and configuration below the Airbus equivalents."
Pros: "Fantastic crew members who were very helpful with our infant."
Pros: "Love qantas airways! Such a great and safe airline."
Pros: "It was our first time flying on Qantas. everything was above expectations."
Pros: "Crew were super helpful. Have flown with other airlines, but have to say Qantas crews are very professional and helpful. They go that extra mile."
Pros: "Good crew, efficient and pleasant"
Cons: "1. The entertainment system had good choice, but screen resolution wasn't as good as recent flights with Lufthansa, SIA, Malaysia Airlines and AirNZ 2. Nowhere near enough toilets in the middle of the cabin, had to queue over 20 minutes 3. The announcement said water refill stations - where?"
Pros: "Same as previous answer!"
Pros: "Fast boarding and great entertainment."
Cons: "Food was sparse and water hard to come by. The ability of passengers in front to deeply recline their seats made the flight uncomfortable and claustrophobic."
Pros: "Crew were great"
Cons: "Not enough toilets - always a queue. More leg room."
Cons: "We came from a week of 45° heat to air conditioning with misting capability, very impressive, loved it. But l got very cold, my own fault didn't a ask for a blanket quick enough."
Pros: "Great crew and good was good"
Cons: "A bit of turbulence during the flight"
Pros: "Food and comfort of the seat"
Cons: "The USB charger, the whole entertainment, anything on the remote including light control and bell, stopped working! I wasn't given enough attention, i had to chase the crew a few times, it was a 14 hour flight with nothing working, miserable experience. I was offered a window seat, which i hate, without considering to give me an upgrade. I was given 5,000 Qantas points, i don't know if they can be moved to my AVIOS."
Cons: "I wasn’t given the seats I had chosen when purchasing the ($3,000) tickets. The seats in the “Dreamliner” were cramped and hard—uncomfortable."
Pros: "Crew was nice and ready to help"
Cons: "Not being able to web check in causes stress pre-flight."
Pros: "The Qantas lounge in Singapore is very nice. Nothing special relative to some others like Cathay, but lots of showers and good food are the key for a stopover, and the Qantas Lounge has that. The meal options are better out of Singapore than coming in to Singapore, The "order ahead" breakfast concept, where you place your order for breakfast when you board has it pros and cons. The personal service is nice, but one needs to know almost 12 hours ahead of time what they feel like eating. Overall a positive, but for me, it's hard for me to anticipate my appetite. It was my first A380 flight (together with the Sydney - Singapore leg), and overall I was disappointed relative to the Dreamliner. Yet it stands out as a positive the way that Qantas has configured business class on the upper deck. It's quite peaceful."
Cons: "Mostly an issue with security, two separate very long lines. The lines are marked priority and economy, but those are not adhered to. The seats in business class are not very comfortable. I feel like I had more comfortable seats 15 years ago on BA, and the world has come a long way since then. The planned upgrades are sorely needed."
Pros: "Friendly flight staff"
Cons: "Cramped conditions in economy but you get what you pay for"
Pros: "Entertainment Options"
Cons: "Confusion in boarding"
Pros: "Comfortable seats, good food choices, great service."
Pros: "Singapore airline best for Australia"
Pros: "Excellent service and helpful staff."
Cons: "Some seats including mine did not recline, looked like the engineering service have missed checking mechanisms."
Pros: "I don't remember much about this plane. It was nice to get food service for such a short flight. I believe we had the two seats to ourselves, and they were comfortable."
Pros: "Excellent value for money, great food which is normally a no no for me, Charming and attentive cabin crew service, making a journey enjoyable !"
Pros: "Staff were friendly but emeriates offer a much better overall service"
Cons: "Long wait times onew calling quantas customer service"
Pros: "Boarding from an obscure gate, then being bused quite a long way to the plane was slow and tedious. There were many queues and delays along the way and the plane was late leaving. Food was not great but we we were not offered anything to drink not even water with the meal until we had finished eating. I know crew works hard but that seemed a time management problem. There is no service involved plonking down a tray. Water could be included."
Cons: "All of the above."
Cons: "We missed our flight due to Justfly and Quantas not informing us about our schedule change. Did not get on our flight"
Cons: "Delayed flight without any explanation. Unable to check in on phone. Checking into this flight at the airport took over 2 hours. Hated everything."
Pros: "Food and service were ok"
Cons: "Every other flight I had on my holiday I was give an exit row or extra seating as I am 6ft5in. Not with Qantas. I even lined up 5 hours prior to flight. Nothing special about this flight unfortunately."
Cons: "Over all service was poor. TVs weren't working either."
Pros: "Typical great Qantas customer service and safety"
Cons: "I don't understand why the fourth busiest route internationally is still so expensive.."
Pros: "Personnel were very pleasant and helpful. Service was great. Plane was clean and organized."
Cons: "Economy seating is cramped, but I was traveling with my adult son so all was good! Night flight was delayed by almost 2 hours, not fun when there's nothing to do and no place to eat/drink in the waiting area."
Pros: "The crew was pleasantly pleasent when passengers make mistakes but firm as need, thus getting what needed done as pleasantly as possible."
Cons: "Entertainment system was stuck and stay stuck on kids program and system had no way to get back to main entry point. Software programmers had either failed to put in a "home" icon / link on the Kids home page. Also, turning system off, and leaving it off for 3+ minutes did not do so either; this likely a failure of software designers to specific such or system itself not functioning per design."
Pros: "Excellent people who made the flight very nice. Extremely personable."
Cons: "I asked for coffee after the first meal service but it never came."
Pros: "Complimentary healthy food, iPads, smiling staff"
Cons: "Flight was delayed 2 hr 30 min because of catering issues. Because of that only one hot meal for 14 hr flight. Diabetic food was the worst I ever had. My prepaid seat for extra $35 AUD wasn't available. The seat was uncomfortable and the pillow was huge - I had to put it on a floor. I am surprised why Qantas is rated #9 among best airlines for 2016. I will try to avoid Qantas in the gorier."
Cons: "Bags won't arrive for another 24 hours; which means we now have no clothes. Grrr."
Pros: "Great selection of entertainment. Good pillows."
Cons: "I had a flight Auckland-London, booked through Emirates but operated by Qantas. The flight got to London with a delay of 2 hours 20 min, because they made us wait 2 hours 20 min more than planned in Dubai, where incidentally all the other Emirates flights had no delay, only our Qantas one. This made me lose my next flight (to Luxembourg) and have to pay for a new flight and stay that night in London. Since I had booked them separately, no one helped or offered any compensation."
Pros: "Staff were super accommodating and friendly. Best pillow I've had on a flight. Blankets were nice as well."
Cons: "Seats didn't accommodate my broad shoulders well. Seats seemed tighter than ones I've flow long distance on before ie. Iceland Air, New Zealand Air, and Emirates. Head phone jack is inside the seat arm rest which made it awkward when adjusting. No standard head phone jack but a converter is provided."
Pros: "Not much - everything was below average Q Meal worked - the miso salmon was good. shape the breakfast was almost unedible - uncooked bacon, gooey egg stuck to side of container - mushy potato cake soaked by the fluid from the tomato - you would think they would get it right after 20 years!"
Cons: "broken tables and damaged seats ( electrical cords lose) they give you a menu and have no pre-dinner drink service don't ask for a drink after meals have been served - you won't get it too much service to ask for snacks after six hours - the staff eat them and give you their vegetarian sandwiches, then other crew try to say no that's not true - one of them is lying seats are tight - especially if you are 188cm tall. they throw all the cooked mid flight snacks out after three hours of being in the oven yet they don't walk up and down the isle and offer them to you. Yeah right - 23 staff eat them themselves. same movies and TV - I do a flight every month and its always the same with maybe one or two new movies added unloading oversize in LAX - give yourself at least 1.5 hours - they are slow and inefficient. Unloading in Melbourne was ok but bags took for ever. Wish they would go to Beijing or Shanghai and see how it is done in less than 15 minutes from docking. United/Delta is looking good at this stage"
Pros: "Friendly service."
Cons: "Didn't bother to offer acting other than fruit juice, water and tea or coffee with the meal seemed in a hurry to get the meal service over"
Pros: "First time I flew Qantas and it was a flight from Melb- Dubai and then Dubai - London. I sat in row 62 and the food three times the food selection had run out the fruits and beef curry. I wasn't able to check in online which was quite annoying. The crew from Melb-Dubai were fantastic. So friendly and talkative and I think one was called Jordan."
Pros: "Normal economy seat. It seemed as if there was a little more leg room than normal. Crew was very courteous and accomodating."
Cons: "Typical airline food. Nothing else to complain about."
Pros: "Prompt and efficient with helpful informative checkin (warned that luggage would probably need to be cleared and rechecked in Sydney). Reasonable choice of snacks (inc. crisps that were I think GF - same as in lounge)."
Cons: "BA (FF) lounge facilities at Tegel are pretty limited, but some reasonable snack choices (crisps, fruit, biscuits, ...)"
Pros: "The overall fought was great. The crew was amazing, especially since they had been up since at least midnight to get everything ready for us. They were cheerful and extremely kind."
Cons: "The only reason the food is not ranked lower is the great wrap we had when we boarded. But, the breakfast was just awful. To be fair, I have never had breakfast on a plane that I have enjoyed. But, word to the wise, skip the eggs and always go for the fruit!"
Cons: "Flight cancelled, not told"
