Cons: "Flight got delayed in Xiamen, miss the connecting flight to chongqing."
Pros: "Getting off of the plane"
Cons: "This was a discount garbage carrier. I have ridden on cargo boats off the coast of Nicaragua that I would recommend before Xiamen. They don’t give you your connecting boarding pass when you leave the country. You have to go through China’s bullshit customs service three times just to get to your next flight. Chinese customs is like a bowl full of retarted fish smelling their own farts. Six people doing nothing while one blithering idiot Stubles through paperwork."
Pros: "food and service"
Pros: "The flight was fine"
Pros: "No problems for the price"
Cons: "Ok no problems for the price"
Cons: "I didn’t realize that Chinese transit visa is needed to transfer at Xiamen airport. When I bought the tickets, I wasn’t notified nor advised to get the Chinese visa. The Xiamen rep at Lax didn’t let me board first and I explained and they gave me the visa waiver paperwork. It was so much of hassle. I’ve laid over many Chinese cities via different airlines and never had any problems. Will not fly again on Xiamen!!"
Pros: "The flight is easy to check gave us 23kgs check in luggage 46kgs if u have intl flight. Free hotel with breakfast. Not bad at all."
Cons: "They require us to get the luggage and check in again tomorrow."
Pros: "Flew business class. Cabin crew was some of the most attentive I have experienced. Food was very good and nicely presented. Pillows could be better, but had two. Same with blankets. One thick and puffy, the other lighter. Nice for temperature regulation."
Cons: "First leg lax - Tao delayed almost 3 hours. Fortunately the 2nd leg was delayed 1.5 hours. 3rd leg on this itinerary was also delayed, I could have made the flight, but they gave my seat away. It was a bit of a Charlie Foxtrot rearranging flights and overnighting Hotel. 2.5 hours. A supervisor was needed to sort it all out. We will see if the above was bad circumstances or not. I run the same itinerary in reverse on the way home in a week."
Pros: "The number of take offs equaled the number of landings :)"
Pros: "the order of boarding the plane"
Cons: "food was dry"
Pros: "Empty seats"
Cons: "Everything else. Staff was rude and did not speak English, food was terrible, and the airport was very confusing. We had a 4 hour layover at Xiamen airport and instead of going straight to our gate, they made us go through immigration, then transfer services, then back through immigration. We landed at 5am, the transfer services open at 6, then check in opens at 6:50, but we weren’t allowed to check in until 8am because our flight was at 10am. We basically stood in line without anyone giving clear instructions and waited at different line ups for 1 hour each. Horrible airplane, horrible airport. Never transferring here again."
Cons: "Airplane was loud not with crying babies but passengers yelling over one another. Food was mediocre, and plane had no entertainment consoles."
Cons: "I was very sick and contagious and asked for a single person hotel room for the night before a connecting flight. It was not accommodated. It would have cost extra 100-200 yuan. Then when we asked for the shuttle to the hotel, the security at the departures level meant we could not exit and be picked up. No one could arrange pick up at arrivals. Instead we paid for a taxi ourselves. Poor service and coordination, especially considering I could barely talk and just badly needed a rest."
Cons: "u had to transfer ur luggages even though its the same airline. what a joke? u had to get through numerous security points to get through the airport what the hell?"
Pros: "We left 13 mins late but landed 45 mins earlyearly"
Cons: "Nobody could rearrange any flights for me, zero help!"
Cons: "Nobody helped me switch my flight around, I hate you."
Pros: "Crew working hard. Seat comfort and clean restroom."
Cons: "Awful food. I basically not eating, going hungry."
Cons: "I couldn't fly because they said there was NO TRANSIT lounge in the airport and I didn't have a VISA to enter China? Who ever heard of a visa for transit?! My destination was Singapore! I am told I have to get a transit visa in order to return home and for me and my son 350!! For 2 hours transit in an airport??? This is NOT a world class airlines, they make their own rules. I will buy another ticket!!"
Pros: "All announcements in Chinese and English. They keep feeding you."
Cons: "Lots of checkpoints but hey. Why complain about them trying to keep us safe."
Pros: "I was forced to buy a new ticket home, which made me discover how wonderful Japan Airlines is..."
Cons: "How are these people still in business? The only people answering customer service hotlines were from the main HQ who only spoke Chinese and would immediately transfer callers to a line for “forgeiners” which would just ring awhile and then disconnect. Same thing happened for at least 10 different people stranded by cancelled flights, even had people trying to call for me from the US. A travel agency was able to switch my friends flights, only to be blocked at his gate by an uninformed Xiamen agent saying he needed a visa for his layover in China, ultimately forcing him to buy a whole new ticket. Xiamen never answered, reimbursed, or recitified any of this. On the flight there, flight attendants had attitudes and SMOKED IN AIRPLANE, it STANK like an ashtray!!! And the food was the worst I ever encountered."
Pros: "Crews, food. Also Transfer Lounge in Xiamen is a good place without charge."
Cons: "Boarding because we have to take bus at Xiamen airport. Also, security checks at Xiamen are very complicated."
Pros: "The offerings of beverages and the choices were good"
Cons: "Lack of communication by staff. Lack of entertainment on 14 hour flight. Was told not to use device while others were able to use."
Cons: "The flight was delayed due to air traffic control. Subsequently I missed my connecting flight -- Xiamen to Manila that evening and had to spend another night in China. Next flight out of Xiamen was 6pm, Nov 2. Xiamen ground staff was very helpful in booking me the option to fly China Southern to Guangzhou the night of Nov 1, stay for free in a hotel, and then take the 0835 morning China Southern flight from Guangzhou to Manila. It was difficult to identify the right people to speak with and get clear assistance and direction in both Xiamen and Guangzhou."
Pros: "Crew was friendly."
Cons: "couldn't book through from Shenzhen yp Guilin. Had to check-in again at Fuzhou and go through security again."
Pros: "Overall Ok"
Cons: "They stole my laptop on board, and they cannot secure the thief even though we know who it was My bike bag was broken"
Pros: "Service in flight was great ! Meals were surprisingly tast and the seatback entertainment was well equipped for the 13 hour journey"
Cons: "Since the airline is so small, they don't schedule agents for check-in prior to a couple hours before boarding. That was a bit frustrating when we wanted to be at the gate early."
Pros: "Their price"
Cons: "Delays, delays and more delays. Then cancellations after!!!"
Cons: "The staff was rude and the flight was delayed twice."
Pros: "Comfortable and friendly"
Cons: "No problems"
Cons: "1) I asked for a window seat so I could see Hong Kong on the air. They put me in the row in front of the wing. No window! 2) Almost constant announcements about seatbelts and electronic devices, not loud enough to actually understand, but just loud enough be annoying. 3) Flight crew go down the aisle with the grace of drunken rugby players. On the return flight I sat on the aisle and got positively battered. I don't work for an airline but I can walk up and down the aisle without touching anyone! 4) The morning meal was a bottle of water, a bruised banana and a piece of bread with what smelled like dog food inside. Revolting. The meal on the way back was ... the same! Give me real food, a snack or nothing at all. It's only an hour flight. 5) On the return flight we sat at the gate for 40 minutes. No explanation or apology. 40 minutes late on a flight that was only an hour... 6) I had to ask for an arrival card as we descended. They could have been given out while we were sitting at the gate doing nothing for 40 minutes. 7) The only "entertainment" was about 15 minutes of commercials. My boss booked this flight for me. I will not fly with them again. They were so incompetent and overmatched, on a flight that was only an hour. I was embarrassed for them."
Pros: "Airline was great, staff was nice and attentive. Entertainment was great although the airline will not let you use your cell phone even on airplane mode. I couldn't listen to a book I had downloaded."
Cons: "Bathrooms needed to be cleaned. Changing flights in China was stressful and confusing. You have to go through immigration and my experience was stressful."
Pros: "I liked how much space I had when I was on the plane, the meal and thw drink was good."
Cons: "There was no automatic check in online or no place to check where to flight to, for exampleT3 or T4 to the building. For foreigners, this is a big deal because I felt lost and uncomfortable. And there was not a very good reminder of the flight. The ususal reminder should be send out within 24 hours, however, it didn't show on the first trip and it popped up when return but 4 or 5 hours to the flight. This need to be changed!!!"
