Forced gate checking of a soft sided rucksack while allowing hard sided cases on the plane when claiming there was limited room was a bit of a joke. The boarding was a free for all with business classes not getting priority and the food was pretty bland and cold (KLM can do a hot meal on shorter European flights). For a National carrier operating from a home base I expected better. Flight was delayed in both Berlin and Munich and due to the delays I missed my ground connection costing me another £80. Had my bag not been gate checked by a overzealous gate agent doing selective enforcement for non Germans then I would have easily made the connection even with the flight delays. Think I will avoid star alliance in the future and stick to sky team or one world.
1. One of the crew who was managing the crowd in the business class line specifically asked me if I am travelling by business class while I was standing in the business class designated line. She specifically was asking only me and no one else. Seemed to imply that I may not be aware of it and may be I don't belong there?(Based on my color?) 2. The business class seats in the aircraft was average regular economy seats with middle seat kept free.
Flight map did not work. Crew was great, food was good, plane took off on time and landed early. That's all I can ask.
Flight attendant was very rude helping me out. Food was discussing did not eat any of it.
Paid for exit row at the back of the plane. Window seat with lots of leg space. Food was inedible (as usual). Brought my own.
We didn't get the coffee with breakfast in the morning.. 30 mins lazer I asked flight attendant why don't we get coffee now at least.. after the breakfast..she said that captain announced possible turbulences fee minutes ago, which didn't ecplain why we didn't get it with the breakfast..breakfast was very poor btw..just little pastry which you can eat in 4 little bites. Turbulences fortunately didn't even happen.. but we didn't get that more than necessary coffee in the morning after the night flight with very poor sleep.. They just served breakfast 1 hour afzer we took off..at like 11 PM.. that doesn't make sense at all.. Also, flight attendants weren't very nice..they looked like they're not happy with their job.. :/
Lufthansa is turning into a budget airline. On transfers, the luggage never arrives if you have less than 2 hours for the transfer. This is happened to me multiple times when I end up on flights serviced by Lufthansa. The first leg of the flight was serviced by Discover Airlines. It was a 3-hour flight and they only offer a glass of water. Everything else is for purchase. I purchased my ticket as economy which should have included a bag but it ended up booking as economy light so I had to pay for a bag in each direction.
Efficiency of staff, and comfort and cleanliness of aircraft was all great. Maybe a hot drink without payment at that time in the morning would be good!
We flew first class - the screens are outdated and very small. Even on highest brightness level is was hard to recognize anything. Food was on average, nothing special. Champagne served was the same other airlines serving in Business Class.
Horrible seats. They were just coach seats with the middle seat blocked with a dirty seat tray.
