KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from Kathmandu to London Heathrow Airport

  • If you can’t find an airline offering direct service from Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (KTN) destined for London Heathrow Airport (LHR), there are several of them that provide one-stop service to London. Etihad Airways, Emirates and Qatar Airways are three such airlines, which provide multiple one-stop flights along this air route.
  • Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport is the principal gateway to the city as well as being the only international airport in Nepal. Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport has two terminals, one for domestic flights and another for international flights, and is located less than 4 miles east of Kathmandu city centre.
  • There is a parking facility in front of the international terminal building at Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport, which is very convenient if you’re being dropped off by a friend, relative or taxi. The parking garage has space for over 250 vehicles, including pre-paid taxis, private and VIP vehicles and government transport.
  • There are no trains running from Kathmandu city centre to Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport, so take a taxi or use hotel airport shuttle transport if the service is provided. There are city buses that stop at the airport’s entrance, and while this is the most affordable option, airport bypass buses make frequent stops along the way so travel times could be lengthy.
  • If you are having difficulty negotiating the environs of Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport, there is an Information Desk where you can enquire about flight schedules, terminals and the locations of airport services and facilities. The Information Desk is located landside of the main terminal building.
  • If you have a disability that requires assistance transiting through Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you can request help from your airline. You should do this at least 48 hours before you arrive at the terminal, so that your airline has time to make suitable arrangements.
  • You can get to Kathmandu Airport from a variety of nearby locations. For instance, you can drive to the terminal from Lalitpur in about 15min, Godawari in around 35min and Budhanilkantha also in approximately 35min.

I had a good experience flying with Emirates. All of the flights were on time staff was very professional and kind. So I had a positive experience..

Hospitality is good. Should improve on buggage handling because l lost a suitcase. Layover in Dubai was too long , 6 hours

We loved flying with Emirates in business class, the staff were fabulous, going above & beyond

Very pleasant. The crews are very nice.Food were excellent.

Very pleasant. The crews are very helpful.Food are very good.

They should resume the fast track for business / first class passengers

Excellent comfort and entertainment. Service poor..Food average with little choice.

Comfort good. Service as usual poor. Cabin temperature as usual too cold, about 15 degrees

The service was excellent. We flew coach on this leg of our trip and it was still very pleasant.

We had to deboard using stairs. Why didnt you have the aero-bridge?

I wish the leg room was better for Economy especially for the outbound flights to India . The outbound flight to US and Qatar was good

Economy travel is really hard with no room to move especially when the person sitting beside you is an XL or XXL size person who if moving could hit your face

Overall the experience was neat with crew being nice and caring especially to parent with kids. The free snacks option was okay. The kiosk at Philly airport didn’t work.

It was excellent in all respects. I don’t think it needs any improvement

Awful plane to Tashkent. Not even possible to sleep. In business class does not even recline fully

I’ve flown with Qatar multiple times and the service has always been great. Very professional, organized, the food is delicious and plentiful, tons of entertainment.

The staff was great and probably that's the single most thing that distinguished this particular Qatar flight from my average typical experience. They genuinely wanted to please you and do their best.

I was unable to pre purchase sear upgrades or internet. Their online site is not user friendly and poor. I felt singled out in customs. Seats are very small even for a small person.

riding in first class, you don't expect every time you order your dinner or breakfast that the first thing the stewardess says is Let me see if we have any left. Also, the food selection was not great: 3 of 4 entrees had mushrooms and I dont eat mushrooms, the 4th item was 'let me see if we have any left' and this was within 30 mins of entering the flight! Same experience level, it didn't feel first class this round.

My carry on bag was taken by Alaska Air as we boarded in LAX! She said there was not room. There was plenty of room. I told her that my meds and personal items were in it. She did not care. She said it would be sent to my final destination, Nairobi. Well it got to Nairobi the day I was to fly home. The handle of my bag was crushed so could not retract. So I had to remove it. I had to buy converters, malaria medication. personal items. I filled out the missing form at the Nairobi airport. I asked that it be shipped to the Kisumu airport. When it was obviously not going to make it for my time in Kenya. I asked that it be sent to John Wayne Airport. NONE of that happened. I only knew it was at Nairobi because my air tag indicated it was finally in Nairobi the day I was leaving Kenya! Now I need to purchase a new carry on bag!!!

It was pleasant except for the boarding at Istanbul and long wait for the wheel chair almost missed the flight Itambul to Dubai

During mid flight, try to get a flight attendant to help I couldn’t find one Otherwise, everything was perfect

We couldn’t fly to Chicago on our booked flight. The flight was overbooked.

It was great except my luggage was C severely damaged over i picked it up off the carousel in London. . A suit case that had been used once does no longer have the use of the extendable arm as it’s broken

Overall great airline that still provides two suitcases, has a huge hub and crew goes above and beyond to assist you. Boarding took a lot of time as there were only 2 people checking in. Also, in Istanbul, taxing took almost 30 min.

Amazing trip! No delays, no broken or lost luggage, and amazing food.

Aircraft you use on this route are always old and poor! This drives the entire experience down

I recently flew with Turkish Airlines, and I can confidently say it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I boarded, the crew was incredibly attentive, warm, and professional. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of throughout the flight. The highlight, however, was the food! I’ve flown with many airlines, but Turkish Airlines sets the bar incredibly high when it comes to in-flight dining. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The variety of dishes, even on a long-haul flight, was impressive. It felt like dining at a high-end restaurant at 35,000 feet! The seats were comfortable, the entertainment options were great, and the overall atmosphere made the journey enjoyable. Turkish Airlines truly excels in combining luxury and hospitality. I wouldn’t hesitate to fly with them again—highly recommend!

One of the best flights I have been on in a while. Food was excellent. The chair-back screens in economy were A+. The crew was friendly and helpful.

Here's a sample answer: "Honestly, I was really impressed with Turkish Airlines, but if I had to suggest one area for improvement, it would be: - *More efficient boarding process*: I noticed that boarding took a bit longer than expected, which might be frustrating for passengers with tight connections.

Everything was good and no points to complain. Food is always a tricky concept. Sometimes you like it and sometimes you don’t. Food was redundant from Kuwait City to NY-JFK.

Beautiful Flight took off on time and everything was good

Next time im going to use Kuwait air lines, hopefully

Comfortable seats. Be aware there is no alcohol on this airline.

Seats were comfortable. Be aware there is no alcohol on this airline.

Every thing was very food except the meal. It was a sandwich of something like a beef kebab. It was really bad in terms of hardness as well as taste. We were a family of 7 persons non of us could eat it his sandwich. Cake was good.

It was very nice flight only suggestions to upload recent videos and English subtitles. Thanks

Wheelchair service is not available right away on Kuwait Airways

Everybody was so nice to treat me good all the workers When I came to Bangladesh there was just a little problem with the luggage but I got my luggage it took like two hours Other than that everything is good

Food quality should be upgrade. Plastic spoons looks like not good as well as food quality not up to the mark.

very run down aircraft. seat tilted. the mobile / magazine holder was broken. The entertainment screen was not working. The crew was good, polite and helpful

Boarding at Mumbai airport was terrible, the staff had no idea how to handle it. It was chaos - and led to a delay

It was far better than what others had led me to expect. I would fly with them again. Don't expect all features of the entertainment system to work.

Terrible. Air India canceled my flight out of Kathmandu because of airport constructions but did not tell me. They should not be selling night flights out of Kathmandu right now that they know they will not honor. The staff was terrible and not helpful with my rebooking or compensating me.

Flight leg to and from IAD/Delhi was good. The leg to and from Delhi/KTM was terrible.

Other than the inflight video screen freezing for about four hours everything else was brilliant.

Business class recliners and entertainment system was not working, it essentially became economy travel at the cost of business

The boarding was not in sequence. All were invited altogether. I was not secured the meal I had asked for.

Information about when boarding would start was missing. Ground staff wasn't ready to provide any information with the answer being in the next 15 minutes any time we asked. (Took 2 hours)

First and the foremost I was shocked to see airindia standards have come down so low . The food was horrible . They served us 3 meals for vegetarian and all the was paneer . The orange juice was not at all cold it was smelly . After you take this heavy price air India should learn from other air lines . I at one point felt like throwing up . After all this when we landed we were not given landing slip . We had to wait for 45 min at the immigration just because no one was given landing slip . To top it all we were 3 passengers and had checked in 4 check in luggage . Out of which 3 have not yet arrived . Basically status says the loaded it in our flight ( this was a direct fight ) and it never reached . We are still waiting . There is nothing great to tell about our flight . The he only good thing was the crew were very helpful .
