While there were other options available, easyJet slightly undercut the competition to sell a ticket for a seat which they never indicated was standby. Since my trip was only for the day, taking the next flight half a day later wasn't a great option. I attempted to check in but was presented with an unhelpful error and then told me the situation at the airport checkin. Inside Luton terminal, there is no easyJet representative to speak with past the security checkpoint until you arrive at the front of the line for your flight boarding. The suspense and lack of service was unnerving. Some passengers might appreciate a small compensation for the inconvenience of taking the next flight. If you absolutely need to be somewhere, don't buy a last minute ticket on easyJet. They don't tell you if you're buying a real ticket or just a standby spot."
Cons: "Arrived at the airport 1 hour 30 min before scheduled flight time. Asked where I could print my ticket and was referred to the check in desk by 2 different employees. After almost an hour on line I was informed they stopped boarding(10 minutes before schedule). I was told to check in in person even though I had already checked in online, and informed both employees of this fact. I was also not informed that only one piece of carry on was permitted as I had brought two. An effort to clarify necessary stipulations and assistance to do so on the part of the Easy Jet employees would HAVE NOT lead to ANOTHER purchased ticket and my current 15hour wait for another plane. Extremely disappointed at the lack of coordination and assistance on behalf of easyjet employees. I was also not offered a discount on the subsequent tickets I was forced to purchase. This will definitelly affect any future bookings I make through kayak and or easyjet."

It was really weird but I understand that as it is a low budget flight provider. The thing that made me really upset was that we all (passengers) left the terminal to get to the plane and we had to wait outside till we could start entering the plane. I really don’t understand why someone made us to wait outside while it’s freezing cold when the doors are not open or plane is not ready. That was unreasonable and ruined my trip."

Also they said I had no checked baggage allowance and was charged an additional €150 !!!!"

I was abroad so chasing up details I should have been provided with / were never told that I should have, were not on the top of my to do list. I only found out that I had to check in online and that I hadn't been provided with these details when I arrived at the airport. I spent 30 minutes on hold before the problem was rectified and I was given my online check in details but it was now top late to check in online (by 5 minutes ). The flight was delayed due to a number of things - a late arrival, people being let onto the plane slowly, people not sitting down and allowing the plane to taxi and leave. This had a knock on effect of making the plane land late and for me to miss my connection (train) so basically through last minute.com not providing me with the correct details regarding the flight and the flight then being delayed it tripled my whole journey back home."

Cabin Staff just wanted to get away as fast as and gave up preventing these degenerate snowflake freeloaders from stuffing their bits and pieces in several storage cabins along the cabin. Of course these people went to all of the lockers in turn and rifled through them as their stuff was spread across several lockers. Luckily my bag, with it’s many padlocks, was completely locked down, and it survived an attempt to open it. My partner was not so lucky, however. Clearly the cabin staff are under pressure to get moving and keep the passengers happy. But it is obvious to m that these ‘later’ passengers are working a scam to steal from other passengers. RyanAir need to make these argumentative over packers, put their stuff in the hold, without question or get off. Off-boarding was also a joke, the priority boarders at the front of the plane that Paid the most, had to get on a bus to the terminal that was the last to move...so forcing a lengthy queue at passport control, it took over an hour to get into the terminal. As the less exoerienced traveller faffled about with their documents, multiple children, and no queueing system. It was chaos on the Spanish side. RyanAir would avoid the delays by having better trained assertive staff, and a little better administration on the ground to ensure that priority boarders get what they paid for. Otherwise I might as well fly SwissAir, or Lufthansa, which are only a 15% price point away. [after seat booking and other RyanAir add on costs.] Passenger===Disappointed [and literally was robbed in flight.]"

The miserable bits about flying with Ryanair are: - The terminals/gates are frequently sheds (Grenoble, Bergerac), or in bigger airports the most distant and least well appointed (Liverpool). - Very little consideration is given to customer service (such as announcements for delayed flights). - The planes are as basic as can be, as is the service. - The scratch cards, food, drink, and all the "extras" you'd get as standard on other airlines such as included baggage, seat choice etc are all ways to boost profits given the low fares. - "They always leave late" - my theory is that the flight times are exaggerated so that they arrive on time at the expense of departure times, i.e. extra time is built in to the departure time to make up for cleaning / other gate delays. In short, flying with Ryanair vs KLM, BA, Virgin or Lufthansa is like taking a long distance Megabus instead of booking a seat on the train. It's cheaper. It's cheaper because it's a bit rubbish and a bit inconvenient. If you want a flight that's nicer, pay for it. Stop moaning about Ryanair."

Cons: "There was a charge to check in - which I attempted to avoid by checking in online but I didn't have access to a printer so there was a charge to print my boarding pass. A charge to check bags (since they wouldn't let us carry on - additional $70) there was no food (it was a 55 min flight so that makes since.) The seats were cramped and hard. And for whatever reason the landing was very hard/abrupt that people screamed. If I had the choice I wouldn't fly this airline again."

Cons: "I was unable to take my Ryanair flight bc I couldn't get to Athens after a previous flight had been cancelled due to the bombing in Istanbul. I could not get through to anyone in customer service, only live chat and all they would do was have me fill out a complaint form. They refused to give me any refund or credit despite these terrible circumstances that were entirely out of my control. They took 4 days to respond. All of the other airlines I flew have full refunds or credits. Ryanair is horrible and greedy and supports terrorism"
