Pros: "Professional, but friendly crew."
Cons: "Hello, I just needed to voice my dissatisfaction with this fight. I’m not sure if every Westjet flight I was lucky and had amazing crew members or if the staff on this flight was having a bad flight. Our flight was delayed by 75min. The flight crew did not attend to any requests from the customers for the 75min we were on the tarmac. I asked for headphones and the crew member look agitated I asked made a remark about how nobody buys them so she didn’t know how much they are. She said she would come back with the price, and did not. I had to wait for the beverage cart and then order them again. Then I asked for an additional can of ginger ale. The gentleman said he’ll need to come back (as he was cleaning the garbage). He never came back. I had to hit the assistance button again and got the original woman. Once again agitated and when I asked she said to wait for the beverage cart again. After another 10-15min they started the beverage service again. On previous flights there were delays, shorter like 30min westjet crew members gave free headphones. And those are the kind of experiences I’ve come to expect from westjet. Not the free aspect but flight crew that care about the customers. The entire crew on this flight was agitated and annoyed from boarding and it definitely showed. Small things like even a smile or even sorry everyone, would’ve gone a long way. But when the crew doesn’t care the flight gets 10x longer, and when the flight is already delayed by 25% of the flight duration it comes to a point where you’re counting down the seconds to get out. The delay was unfortunate and out of the control of the company and crew but that doesn’t mean the crew couldn’t still make it into a memorable experience for the guests."

However,there was a screaming and coughing child behind these seats also. Perhaps grouping families to a section would help?"

Cons: "When tavelling with a child, which is always identified at the time of booking by providing child's age, every other airline was able to accommodate seating together. Even at the lowest fare class. Not Westjet, their automatic computer seating assignment gave us seats in separate rows !! When asked at the checkin and also again at the gate, we were told that the fare class that we paid for does not allow seat changes. They simply would not seat a parent and a child together unless we paid extra $25/person to change seats. This kind of gauging for money was shocking. Especially when there were 3 other rows behind us with free seats together !! This was clearly a case of wanting more money. At the lowest fare class parents travelling with children can expect the child to be sitting separately from them. Or pay up more."
Pros: "Boarding went well. Although it was a full flight, they asked for volunteers to check in hand luggage (free of charge) I did, trying to help. But once I picked up my luggage and got to destination point, I noticed that 2 small items (gifts for family) had been pilfered. Not happy and will not volunteer to help again."

Cons: "One of the flight attendants was incredibly dismissive. “Forgot” to ask for my order to get lunch, so needed to call him so he could take my order (he was already in the middle of eating his own food) and of course by then what I asked for was not available, and the options for food were bad. On top of that, the trash from the top of my table was not cleared for a long, long, long time (even though everyone else’s in my section were clean). First time this happens to me in all my years of flying, specially in upper economy class."
Pros: "WS Care Center staff Minmico (think it was her name) arranged the 4:15 flight instead of the 6 pm flight but only because I requested her to check that flight when I returned to the CC to find out if it was possible to get on an earlier flight. I should have been advised when I first arrived at the CC from my delayed flight from Toronto that I could check back at the CC to see if there was a cancellation. Minmico allowed me to use her phone a couple of times to call my husband to advise him of the changes in my flight, which was very helpful. She tried hard just prior to the flight departure to have my bag delivered to the 4:15 flight but was unsuccessful. She gave me food vouchers, which I liked. I also thought the WS CC staff in Abbotsford was very helpful explaining the process for making a baggage claim when my bag didn't arrive due to my last minute flight change - the $100 voucher was appreciated when I picked up my bag the next day."
Cons: "Had to sit in the plane for almost 2 hours because the computer was being fixed on the plane. Crew did not communicate in a timely manner about when we would be flying.The plane should not have been in operation if the computer didn't work and passengers should not have had to wait on the plane for two hours while it was fixed. I missed my WS connecting flight to Abbotsford from Calgary and was only rescheduled on a plane departing 6 hours later! No one at WesJet Care suggested there may be a cancellation on an earlier flight - I had to arrange it by returning to the WS Care Center. I just barely made it onto an earlier 4:15 pm flight but without my bag which was put onto the later 6 pm flight. I chose to return the next day to pick up my bag."

Her impatience with them ended up that she didn't get their drink order right. She challenged them on whether they really said they wanted milk and sugar or just sugar. Then she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed about someone else waiting to get down the aisle after going to the bathroom. The client was had patience and was talking to those around her. The server was verbally frustrated and everyone knew by her words and facial expressions. There was an elderly lady with a cane who she was very brusk and impatient with. Her tone was condesending and dismissive."

I actually came to kayak to book my ticket for Friday to go to London however when I got to the airport it says it was for Monday. Because I had to be at London the next day for a wedding i had to buy another ticket for almost 1000. I also couldn’t contact u so I’m emailing now. I didn’t get on the plane for west jet because I am already in London. I also have a screen shot that shows me that my flight details were for Friday however another email shows me that it’s for Monday. Even the workers at th airport were confused and felt strongly bad for me. I would like a full refund as well. Thank you. Cons: "The management of carry on luggage on the flight. It seems that there is no control over the placement of carry on luggage in relation to seat selection. many people entering the aircraft drop of luggage in the bins close to the front of the cabin even when they are sitting at the rear... Simple solution would be to assign luggage based on zone. Zone A to Be Window seat. Zone B to be a centre seat and Zone C to be Aisle seat. Designate a portion of the overhead bin to be A, B and C like the seats. Ensure that baggage is transported to the seat designated."
Pros: "The female flight attendant and the pilot spoke reassuringly and with friendliness."
Cons: "This was the most negative experience I’ve ever had flying Westjet. The female flight attendant was wonderful, fun and friendly and professional. The two younger male attendants were incredibly rude, rolled their eyes, ignored me, put themselves first (at one point instead of making room for me to return to my seat the blond one insisted I let him pass when it was unsafe for me to do so and nowhere for me to go). I felt demoralized by these two men and it’s both surprised and disappointed me as Westjet staff have a reputation for friendliness. These two men will Discourage me from flying Westjet when travelling to LA again. Not pleasant. Again the women was lovely. I tried to catch the male names but they wouldn’t stop and face me for long enough for me to see their name tags. They seemed to have some inside jokes between them and gave me the sense my requests were not welcome or respected. I am a nervous flyer and this was such a difficult and uncomfortable Experience."
Pros: "I went through customs and then walked via escalators and moving walk ways to b4. It took me almost a hour. I was the last to board I am sure And had to collect my own luggage and take it from one point to another. I am 70. thank god, when I got on the plane I sat in 3a and was offered a free glass of wine. halleluya. I was exhausted Toronto airport is always a nightmare. I travel a lot and will avoid this airport if I can. I do like West jet but Delta /west jet connection means I have to take my bag from one place to another and I walked miles and could have missed my flight. I am tired. I am going to bed"

Cons: "This was my first time booking a PLUS seat and never realized that row 2A seat sucks. Its a bulkead row seat that is by the window. This seat was worse to sit in than any other seat on the plane. This seat is located were the plane starts to curve in toward the front of the plane reducing the seat width, I have a 33" waist and it was tight. The arm wrests in this row don't come up as they stow your table, as well the leg room is only as good as a regular seat because of the bulkhead location. So FYI do not book this seat on a long flight."
Pros: "The information given by the pilot overhead was timely and well delivered. The flight was smooth and we arrived safely."
Cons: "We sat for 4 hours on the runway. Aside from 1 crew member, they were impersonal, rude, and unaccomodating. They pilot spoke overhead very pleasantly and apologetically and encouraged walking around and using the restroom but they crew gave everyone a hard time. There was no offer of complementary food service or compensation for anyone despite being on the plane for double the amount of time planned. Finally, the in flight entertainment worked for maybe half hour of the actual flight with no explanation or acknowledgement."
Cons: "Our original flight was cancelled due to WestJet reasons (plane was not safe to fly) the following evening the flight was supposed to depart at 7pm we didn’t take off until 10:37 pm causing an arrival of 940AM into London instead of 7:23AM primarily because the crew they chose for this new flight was coming from Montreal so we had to wait for them to arrive."

Cons: "The seats were up there with the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced--mostly due to the lack of ability to recline. I feel a four hour flight is sufficiently long enough to provide people some space to relax. We were delayed for whatever reason, lack of communication from staff to the passengers that were boarded really quite early (perhaps too early). One of the staff, while nice enough, was being a bit snarky to people as they were trying to, what I thought was helpfully, give them their garbage."

Cons: "Well, they mixed up my check-in luggage during transit. As a result it got delayed and I had to spend the night without it. Although, I was informed about this miss when I landed in Vancouver, the team did not seem to feel particularly bad about it. Also, the process of getting reimbursed for the predefined expenditure allowance needs to be more efficient. Ideally, in such cases, the airlines should not only refund the check-in fee, but also provide a prepaid card to make any urgent purchases. Their current process requires one to bear the expenses initially, scan/click and send the original receipts and await a response from their baggage team. I am waiting to hear back from them on my submission."

Cons: "Flight on tarmac for 2 hours after loading passengers no word regularly from pilots or anyone for a long time. Baggage loading and no accountability for huge delays for lost luggage containers? Who is the logistics team? This is not the first time westjet has provided poor service on their international flights. Training if ground staff onsystems is poor. He guest services at tronto openly claimed they did lot know how to operate certain screens for transactions."

Cons: "On an 8 hour flight there’s no complimentary meal. I paid for a meal and it was worse than free plane food and starved for the rest of the trip. The chairs were horribly uncomfortable with no lower back support and we were not even given pillows and blankets. There was also no free entertainment. I rented a tablet and had it taken away an hour before landing while I was in the middle of a movie. I might have been ok with that if the flight attendant had politely asked for it back rather than rudely waving and pointing while I stared at her blankly trying to figure out what she wanted. Next time I’ll pay a bit more for an airline that respects its passengers and our comfort."

Cons: "This was where the real fun in my trip happened. After my arriving flight got in 2 hours late and sat on the runway for 45 minutes because there was too many planes in the way for my plane to get to the gate I was not in the mood to run across the airport to go through customs and then through security (for the second time). However in order to make it onto this final flight that's exactly what I had to do. I also might add that it is incredibly stupid that connecting flights have to go through security again after deplaning, it's not like we're suddenly going to have weapons or anything so why waste that time? After I sprinted across the airport and got onto the plane the pilot announced that we were waiting to hear from the airport to take off. Long story short the poor pilot was trying to figure out what was going on but no one was even answering his calls. Eventually he realized that the plane hadn't been refueled and had to get a hole of them to refuel. At one point he must have gotten really frustrated because he left the plane in search of answers as the Toronto airport wasn't giving him any. Eventually after 2 hours of sitting on the plane we refueled and took off. On top of that my travel partner didn't get her luggage, we assumed that the Toronto airport lost it somewhere or something. Overall a complete nightmare."
Cons: "I was given a ticket with the seat 3A (one of the plus seats); I didn't ask for it or pay for it, I just got that seat when I was checking. After I found out it was a plus seat, I acknowledged to nearby the flight attendants and nearby passengers I didn't pay for this, that there was a mistake, and I could move if there was someone who did pay for it. What I received from the flight attendants are accusatory remarks/comments about how shouldn't be there because I didn't pay for it (after I acknowledged this before anyone even had an issue about it) and passive excuses that didn't make much sense when I asked them why there ws this issue in the first place. I was fine with moving seats from what I was initially assigned to, I was fine with being moved twice thereafter (first moving to 21E, then to 23E). What I was not fine with was 1. the accusatory tone by the flight attendants that I tried to take someone else's seat 2. even though I was given the seat by the person at the check-in desk when I didn't even ask for it and 3. after I was the one who initially brought up this issue in the first place and was willing to changet seats with he rightful passenger. Please learn to take responibility for your actions and mistakes and errors rather than blaming it on a passenger who just wants a safe flight home. Thanks."
Cons: "Didn't fly on the day I was supposed to fly due to delays. I had to figure out for myself that I wasn't going to make my connection and thus I went back home. We agreed to itinerary for the next day that had a 2+ hour wait at la Guardia and yet I still almost missed the N.Y. to Tampa flight due to delays out of toronto. Had to sprint from one terminal to the other. In Toronto we sat on the tarmac for 90 mins, and this was after dealing with security and other issues with checkin before i even got on the plane. For example, it was difficult to explain that i had already paid for my checked bag the day before. As a result I never got a chance to eat the entire day. And then my bag didn't get to Tampa until later that night anyways. Although the individual staff members were all very nice, there were institutional flaws that made two days very frustrating. I have some sort of debilitating delay on more than half my flights over the last few years, and rarely is there ever an explanation or compensation."

Cons: "5hrs and 9min flight time. Add boarding and alighting at the other end - adds up to over 6 hours travel time. WestJet will supply you with a coffee or tea and a cookie, pretzel or cheese stick packet. Wow! You get to watch fair selection of movies etc on your own phone or tablet - IF you have downloaded the app BEFORE you leave the terminal.Wow! If you need to wait for the bathroom the stewardess tells you to wait in the aisle behind row 3... really? So I can't just stand here in the galley and wait... no sir, behind row 3. Best advice - fly Air Canada - these guys do not deserve your money!"
Pros: "I was traveling with my 11 month old daughter and everyone went out of their way to assist us and I didn't feel like a burden to them. When she was sleeping on my lap during the flight they even brought me my meal in portions so I didn't have a huge tray to balance over my baby."

I fly often and I always pack a sweater and a blanket but even that couldn’t keep me warm because the cabin was so cold Also, my meal that I purchased on the flight was frozen all the way through. It was literally like biting into a popsicle. My teeth hurt for the rest of the flight after just one bite. I asked for another sandwich which took a while because they were busy with other passengers. My replacement sandwich felt just as cold but it wasn’t frozen solid like the first one. It seems like a minor inconvenience but it became quite frustrating."

I was delayed 3 hours first flight, 1.5 hours second flight after watching two flights that I “wasn’t allowed” to be on depart right in front of me at 9 and 10 instead of the 11 that they rebooked me on. Once I landed in Lisbon after the second flight that o wasn’t supposed to take. We missed the connection by 5 minutes and there were many people flying to my same destination. I had to wait 5 hours in Lisbon when I shouldn’t have ever went to Lisbon. I bought a ticket from Newark to Zürich through Porto 10 hours in total. I think TAP overbooked everyone and seated us on purpose. The secondflight was delayed due to “bad weather” and it was perfectly nice outside. Shame on TAP. I’m sure other people are complaining."

There was no good communication. We also were unable to choose our seat and were stuck in the two middle seats when there were free aisle seats still available. My controller for the tv didn't fit back into the holder easily at all and my husband got a blood blister trying to force it back in. Headrest to hold my head didn't stay put to give proper support while trying to sleep."
Pros: "Flight was delayed leaving Newark so we missed our connection in Portugal which was supposed to take us straight to Venice. Instead TAP gave us a replacement flight to Madrid and then from Madrid to Venice A FLIGHT WITH TWO STOPS IS NOT WHAT WE WANTED OR PAID FOR. Madrid was also delayed and we missed our connection to Venice. We got a new flight from Madrid to Venice and had to wait 5 hours for it. A trip from New Jersey to Venice ended up taking OVER 24 HOURS!!!! Due to the disgraceful disorganization and service of TAP PORTUGA we missed our best friends rehersal dinner a memory we would have loved to have. Extremely disorganized, terrible customer service OH AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR OUR BAGS TWICE to get reimbursed later but I don’t believe anything Tap Portugal says so we’ll see. Staff advice did not align and they were unapologetic for the experience we received."

I wasted good hour and a half on this and I had to pay $180. After all that at the boarding gate they announced that they will call by zone .they called especial need called frequent flyers zone A never called zone B all they said last minute was this is the final call for flight #.... and I was right in front of them and guess who were the people making the announcement yep the same people at the check in counter"

Cons: "My wife and I arrived to the airport for our honeymoon extremely excited. We had been saving for our trip to Italy for months, and we were finally going to get things started. Everything fell apart when we went to check in and we were told that my wife couldn’t use her ticket because she had changed her last name. We were told that there was no way that the name on the ticket could be changed because of TSA regulations. Of course, we were also told that we could have changed the name had we purchased a more expensive ticket. In other words, we were lied to and told the issue was regulation, when really they wouldn’t help us because we couldn’t afford a more expensive ticket. The only help we were given was the pleasure of paying over $1,500 more to get my wife on the flight. I am in the process of trying to get this refunded, but as of now we have paid twice for my wife to fly, and neither ticket has been refunded. We may have accidentally broken a rule, but the only function that rule seems to have is to make us pay twice for the same seat. As of now, I would never fly this airline again, and I would warn everyone away from it. I will update this post if TAP does the right thing by two honeymooners."

Cons: "To start off our trip we weren't allowed to get on the plane until an hour after our boarding time. After we were allowed on, the air conditioning was not working and continued to sit on the tarmac not even leaving our terminal for another two hours. Within this two hours there were many elderly people asking for help and one specific gentleman whom was in his late 70s, informed the people around him that he had a pacemaker was pleading to get some air conditioning to the point where 6 people on the airplane were fanning him off. It was 90 degrees in the airplane and we had been sitting in the plane without any help even pleading with the attendents to let the elderly off so they did not pass out. Once we reached the 2 hour mark without any ac the gentleman in his late 70s was beginning to lose consciousness and many people had to call the emergency services, and the crew on flight TP214, tried to tell us everything was fine while the plane was pulling away from the terminal ... as they were giving the man oxygen, even though the elderly gentleman had lost the ability to communicate verbally and was about to pass out. They had to pull the plane back off the tarmac fully delaying us 3 hours in the process making us miss our other two flights. Once we were finally in the air for the 6 hour flight our entertainment system was not working so we were left to twiddle our thumbs for the remainder of the trip. It really ruined what seemed to be an exciting trip and I highly doubt we would ever take TAP Portugal ever again or recommend it to anyone no matter the price."

Cons: "The airline makes money by having very low weight allowances on carry-on and checked luggages. The staff at the check in desk act like they are surprised and symphatetic about the overages meanwhile they enforce the weight limits to the gram. Most deplorable of all is the fact that they have one person on staff at a special desk where one can go to pay for the newly discovered overages. This desk and the person assigned to it full time is the proof that the company expects this kind of result before hand. Where on most continental flights the weight limit is usually set at 31 kilograms for checked-in baggages TAP Portugal has a limit of 23kg. Where most companies have no weight limit or around 20kg on carry-on baggage they have 8kg. The overages in weight result in a flat fee of $100 per luggage, even if the luggage is just one kilogram over the allowed limit. The low ticket purchase price is in my opinion a deplorable marketing scheme aimed at getting people to buy their tickets and then be faced with extra charges when it turns out weight alloweances are set at domestic standards."

Our 7 year old son spent most of this time desperate for the toilet but we weren't allowed. We all just wanted to go to sleep after a long day, I wanted to get to sleep because I faced 4 hours drive home after landing in London. We were served food and drinks at around midnight... I was asleep and was woken by a stewardess shouting "Would you like a drink" (not sure if she was speaking to me - but to be honest on a night flight I expected the aircrew to be a little more tactful). The cabin lights were eventually dimmed at about 1:30 for perhaps a couple of hours, when they were turned back on and we were served a slice of carrot cake for breakfast. The whole trip felt very bizarre, the opposite of the outbound trip where everything felt very special. After landing we retrieved our luggage only to find our cases were badly damaged, we've traveled with the same cases for the last five weeks during which time they have survived without a scratch."

Really made you feel like you inconvenienced them if you ask them a question..... I only asked one, "what are the food options?" I didn't have a measuring tap to prove it, but the seats definitely felt tighter than most aircraft, and were very uncomfortable. I never have difficulty sleeping on a flight, even a Ryanair flight, but I along with half the cabin could not get comfortable enough to nod off on this flight. It was reassuring that I wasn't being overly picky when I saw half the cabin going through the same discomfort as me. Food was even worse than the usually bowel clogging garbage that you usually get elsewhere. All in all, if you are saving $400-500 flying with these guys might be worth the trip for you......do not penny pince and fly with them if the are $200 cheaper, absolutely not worth it. As for me I travel too much, and life is too short to have to put myself through that again."

Neither of us could nap And the fare was not particularly cheap at $580 one way. It was truly horrible. I arrived exhausted and am still recovering from jet lag"

Then we were told to return to the airport the next day for a 2pm rescheduled flight only to find no Air Europa workers even there, and that we'd be put on the 10pm flight for that night, combined with people already on that one. Virtually no compensation nor apology with the exception of ONE worker who joined the air europa staff that afternoon during the re-check in process. Once finally on the aircraft, we left an hour late, as well. Upon arrival in Madrid, spent a long time searching for the way to get compensation back for my taxi rides, and was given options to do online, call, etc., so the process is still ongoing. I will think twice before flying with them again!"
Cons: "the flight kept getting delayed. There was NO AIr Europa represtentatives at the airport. Telephoning them was not helpful. They either hung up on me or kept saying to call back later. Flight ended up being cancelled. Shuttle busses to hotel, which was a a full hour away took us hours to get to. Arrived at hotel at 5 am! Return was said to be at 10am but wasn't until noon for what they told us would be a 3 pm flight. Ongoing lies. Flight didnt leave until 10:30 pm and then there was a 45 min delay on the plane. Plus lots of waiting in lines all day. It was horrible. Missed a full 24hrs in madrid. Hope to get some money back as compensation."
