Cons: "I could have been warned that you need to get a pass to go to Hanga Roa before you can board. I had checked because I had heard there was a fee but upon investigation, it was said that this requirement had been eliminated. Wrong!! You still need the pass but you don’t get charged a fee. The extra time required for this tedious meant we missed our chance to check bags and do incurred hundreds of dollars more to get on the same flight the next day. No Bueno!!! This should be highlighted up front!!"

Pros: "I'm not sure since I slept through most of the 90 minute flight, which is a good sign, I guess. It was an older plane with no entertainment system, but I hate those things, so fine by me. I missed the food this time around, but it was a crappy cold sandwich when I took the same flight a few weeks earlier, but it's a 90 minute flight, so what do you expect?"
Cons: "The boarding process was pointless While this is a quirk of the airport, the airline should change their procedure for this scenario. LATAM splits passengers into different groups: first class, special needs, priority because you paid, everybody else. That's fine at most airports. At Santiago's airport, however, passengers ride a bus from the gate to the plane, mixing up all the groups on the bus, so what's the point? Worse, special needs passengers were the first to get on the bus, but end up last to get off screwing over the elderly and those with small children. What a system!"

Cons: "Try to avoid LATAM. Actually low cost competition is offering a better service. Latam grew too much and the service is bad. They are making too many mistakes such as not delivering basic information such as where to pick up luggage claim. Honest advice: look for alternatives and avoid big headaches"

Cons: "Flight was first delayed 1 hour then jumped to 3 more hours. Gate was constantly changing so we relaxed at a nearby gate. Never heard a boarding call. Then there's a security check right before you get on the plane so we have to throw away bottles of water that were bought in the terminal after passing initial security. Ridiculous!! How are we to keep hydrated on a 10 hour flight without being able to bring water on the plane?? The flight attendants should, at least, come around with cups of water. Service on LAN was excellent 10 years ago but has deteriorated when it changed to LATAM."

I am very displeased that I had to throw out $15+ dollars of food and drink and that I had zero water when getting on an 11 hour flight. that's outrageous."

Cons: "Oddly, the seats were slightly less comfortable on this larger jet than on the LATAM flight from Santiago to Lima which was a smaller jet with one aisle and 3 seats per row."

Cons: "Boarding was very disorganized and not on time. My seat assignment was changed upon boarding the plane. They had assigned 3 people to my seat which was an isle seat I had chosen upon purchasing my ticket 5 months prior. I was changed to a middle seat. They had an extra (makeshift) security check point on the actual boarding ramp. They made everyone open their carry-on bags and suitcases on folding tables just before entering the plane. They also took beverages bought at the gift shops, right before getting on the plane which was unusual. Overall ground crew was not very customer service oriented. In flight crew was better."

Pros: "I left a scarf on the plain when we landed in NY. And a lamd team member, Kelly, went out of her way to get it back for me right at the airport, and I did!!!! So helpful and efficient and curtious!!! Thank you!!!"

Cons: "Overbooked flight we had to wait with baby and 4 years old kid till last minute to know if we could get on board or not. Latam wanted us to fly in three different seats we told them that we were happy to flight next day but they pushed till last minute waiting. Cons: "After about 40 minutes of waiting in line to check in almost all employees left and left just one person to check people in. Not sure what happened as the employees pretended not to speak English. Also, everybody in our group was given seat multiple rows apart."

Cons: "Latam could not link with American Airlines. It was like I had two separate tickets even though they had a code share with AA. I couldn't get a boarding pass across airlines and my seat assignments were a real problem."

Pros: "Despite having a high "Sapphire" status with this One World Partner and being promised "preferente" seats by the airline when I reserved seats months ago, I was unable to view the seats or check in online. Both their App and their online system were down and unavailable. We were never able to view our actual seats online. The "preferred seats" my group on 5 could not have been worse!! We were seated consistently in row 11 or the very last row of the aircraft immediately in front of the lavatory, where the seats do not recline at all and where you hear and smell the bathroom for the entire flight.. There was NO space to breathe in our seats. I have traveled on dozens of airlines and this experience and these seats were the WORST! After this happened once, I specifically asked to insure that it would not happen again and was told that seats on my next flights were good but they were the same horrible seats. Part of our itinerary was on LAN and part was on TAM, who have now combined into 1 airline, but still operate on separate systems. So LAN customer service could not see the seats for TAM flights and vice versa. Their online system reflected a changed time for our return flight from 145pm to 250pm from Rio. We verified it 3 times (even though we could not check in or view our seats because of "technical difficulties" we could see the new departure tie, and the change was confirmed by our Sheraton concierge, but when we arrived to the airport they informed us that we had arrived to late for our 145pm flight! We showed them the app that showed our flight was changed to 250pm and they could not explain the problem. We were delayed 4 hours and arrived too late for dinner in Santiago. The final 4 hour flight at 4am flight from Santiago to Lima was torture. The seat in front was literally 6 inches in front of my face when they reclined and I could not recline. It was absolute TORTURE! Avoid this airline! To add the agony, they have lost my bag and do not know where it is!"
Cons: "HORRIBLE seats with NO space and no Recline as a "preferred" clients. Impossible and inaccurate online App and check in process that was always unavailable. Unfriendly and poor customer service at check in, and inaccurate information (being told that we had good preferred seats, for example) Lost luggage still pending."

Cons: "One of my bags was damaged on the direct flight from Santiago to Miami. It looked like it had been dragged down the runway. I showed this to Latan representative Angel Pupulin in Miami who's first statement was, "Latan is not responsible." He was rude and initially refused to even fill out a damaged bag report. I explained that I would call my credit card company and put a non-authorization on $2500 worth of tickets. He continued to speak to me in Spanish although I told him, " No habla Espanol." He spoke English but was trying to jerk me around in every way possible. This is not going to be ignored! One employee screwed up all the positives of multiple flights with Latan. I will avoid flying Latan in the future and will not recommend Latan to others."

Pros: "Loading the back of the plane first."
Cons: "Canceling a flight, and not telling passengers what gate the flight is at till 2 hours before and then still switching gates. At one point the gate switched 5 minutes before boarding to the other side of the airport."

Pros: "Most of the crew was really nice. The plane was extremely new."
Cons: "One crew member jacked my blanket and gave it to a different passenger. Also, my originally assigned window seat was reserved for cabin crew, so I was moved to an aisle seat that was narrower than my previous seat due to its in-armrest tray table."

Cons: "It took forever to load the plane and they overbooked a few seats. The crew was clueless about how to handle seating a nice family whose seats were taken. 20 minutes later, the crew finally got it together. Also, the sandwich sucked. Some type of cream cheese on a lousy roll. Unbelievably bad and a calorie waste; tasted like wall paste."

Pros: "I am deaf, almost 68y. Old. They insisted to escort me to the gate, I was very happy to be escorted by a beautiful young girl. I would have been a little lost had I gone through the screening by myself. The indicated gate number was changed as well."

Cons: "LAN told us our bags were coming in the next 2hrs all day & they never arrived! They were clearly telling us lies the whole time."

Pros: "crew and cleanliness"
Cons: "Uncomfortable spacing of seats on short flights a nightmare on long hauls. Have to assume the distance between seat and seatback ahead is now a safety issue should an emergency evac. be necessary. Had to argue over an imposed seat change despite holding a 2 hour old agent issued boarding pass. Gate agent plainly lied in claiming an equipment change was making it necessary. At start of trip (1/14), not allowed to board connection and suffered an additional 5hr. layover delay due to baggage transfer problem. No compensation of any type graciously offered for any of the inconveniences."

Pros: "A business class upgrade, lay flat bed, very comfortable. Overall wonderful, made me want to take this flight every time I travel to Chile for business."
Cons: "The flight attendants were not very attentive compared to other business class flights I've been on, especially Delta. Seemed a little rushed, felt as if I wasn't able to enjoy the business class amenities."
