FAQs - booking Bermuda flights

  • I’m travelling to Bermuda to visit Horseshoe Bay. Which airport should I use?

Horseshoe Bay is a particularly popular attraction in Bermuda. Fly into the main international airport, Bermuda L.F. Wade International Airport, for easy access to this attraction, which is on the south coast of Bermuda. You can then use public transport or a taxi to reach your final destination.

  • What direct flights are available from the UK to Bermuda?

There are direct flights to Bermuda from the UK, operated by British Airways. These tend to operate at more popular times of the year, such as around the long school holidays. If you want to travel at a quieter time, most flights from the UK to Bermuda operate with at least one stop, usually somewhere in the USA.

  • Which airline should I fly with from the UK to Bermuda if I want to connect in the US?

There are various airlines that fly this route. If you want quicker transfers from the US, it may be best to fly on American Airlines into Miami or Delta into Atlanta; you’ll then be under 3h away from Bermuda.

  • What visa do I need to travel to Bermuda?

It is not necessary for British passport holders to get a visa to enter Bermuda, but they must provide proof of accommodation. It is possible to stay for up to 90 days visa free in the country, and your passport will need to be valid for the duration of your visit.

  • Which Bermuda airport should I fly into to visit Hamilton?

Book a flight into the main international airport in the St George's parish on Bermuda. L.F. Wade International Airport has easy access to the capital city of Hamilton, as once you have landed, you can just hop into a taxi to take you to the city.

However, you'll want to book these before you arrive.

  • Can I hire a car at L.F Wade International Airport?

There aren't any hire car companies available at the airport or anywhere else in Bermuda. Instead, if you're hoping to get around the island on your own, you can take a taxi across The Causeway to Hamilton Parish. On the other side of The Causeway, you'll find companies that allow you to hire bicycles, motorcycles and mini-electric cars. Movie selection was meh. Food was great. Crew as always great. I paid for premium because that’s the only way not to feel like a sardine. That’s how economy should be imo. Sadly passengers have to pay an extra $1000 to get what they should at base price but that’s all airlines. The airline industry in general treats passengers as cargo.

My only complaint on any flight is meals but your gnocchi was good. The worst is breakfast. I can’t understand why you don’t just serve something simple like yogurt, fruit and a muffin or cinnamon roll.

Cramped seating for me. Luckily it wasn’t a long flight

Wrong numbers on the seats, side rows had different numbers than middle row caused lot of confusion.

The food was terrible especially for a 15 hour international flight. The crew was unpleasant as well.

Our seats were comfortable with adequate room to stretch out and recline. The food was tasty and served it just the right intervals. Our flight attendant was extra attentive and friendly. Flight arrived early. And the most turbulence. Overall that’s good and experience for an 11 hour flight as can be hoped for

It was beautiful easy and smooth experience. Thank you. Will definitely get Delta for my next travel.

I'm a tall guy and even the seats with more leg room were not as comfortable as I had hoped.

Excellent flight, the planes were newer, they did a nice job with boarding, great service overall.

Amazing flight! I have never noticed the uniforms of the attendants before in twenty years of flying except today when one female had the most amazing dress on. It was beautifully designed and showed she was in charge. I never dreamed I would google who designed Delta uniforms . The ultimate compliment is when another woman admires your outfit. . I hope your designer puts it on the market

Great. It was awesome to have boarding from the front and back of the plane as it made the process go very quickly

It was okay. The airplane was a little smaller than a flight from Thailand to Helsinki.

Wish that everyone would board the back of the plane first. Also let kids on first. The gate wasn’t open at arrival and we waited 45 minutes to takeoff. They made up for time in the air.

This was an absolutely exceptional flight. The flight attendants were extremely attentive and very friendly. They seemed to go out of their way to make us comfortable and to make sure that we had everything we needed., We were in business and were very happy with the size and the details for our pods. We would definitely recommend Finnair and will definitely be flying with them again.

We had an excellent trip with Finnair. This was our first time and we’re very pleased. The only issue was with the boarding - it was a little bit confusing and needs a little bit of streamlining.

Crew very lovely. Arrived an hour late due to bad weather. We were given new tickets to an other flight but it could have been organised better, so we did not have to run through the whole airport to.

Flight delayed over an hour. They said they would hold our connection but then did not.

Major problems checking in at Alaska counter. They could not find our booking code because it came from Finnair.

Do not use KAYAK or Finair for future travel. Unless you purchase the tickets directly from the airline, you were going to have a difficult time checking in. Kayak canceled my flights twice and ended up causing great difficulty in me getting back from Europe because they double sold my tickets between American Airlines and Finair. The event caused significant delays and led to me having to rebook my flights.

The staff were all particularly great. The plane was clean and fresh. The bassinet worked great. It was all very nice.

very difficult boarding process - aggressive passengers not the friendliest crew

I paid extra for a seat closer to the front. The TV didn’t work at all for the entire flight. Would have been nice to know before I purchased an “upgraded “ seat

JetBlue is always consistent and great, the food is limited in selection, but at least you can grab as much as you want on snacks and drinks at the Blue Locker.

The plane was late to leave.. Internet was lousy. TV was not working. when we arrived, We stayed on the plane for a long time before we got to the gate. It took us a long time to retrieve our luggage because they didn’t know what carousel to send them to. It was a bad experience.

You get what you pay for with JetBlue. Every little thing costs more, you are nickel and dimed until the end. Entertainment doesn’t function. Flight attendants do the bare minimum.

It was too hot in the cabin. The AC did not help.

The regular feedback of any changes to our flights. The Jetblue staff were very helpful. Our flights were great. Lots of leg room!

Overall was excellent. Will definitely us JetBlue in the future.

Smooth boarding and friendly crew. Unfortunately as soon as we boarded the unit that provides air circulation failed. The pilot informed us and requested maintenance technicians to check it out. The plane became uncomfortably warm without any fresh air coming in. Plus the repair delayed our departure. I am glad the maintenance crew were able to fix the problem. I also was without use of my tv monitor for the first 1/3rd of the trip.

The flight itself was fine, but the boarding process was extremely frustrating. There is no one scanning boarding passes - passengers just scan themselves and enter the jetway. By the time my husband and I got on the plane and were halfway to our seats they determined there were too many bags on the plane and everything at that point needed to be checked. This created a lot of unnecessary chaos. They should have alerted people before getting on the plane that they would need to start checking bags instead of waiting until people were already on the plane.

We were a little late pushing back ,but arrived a head of time.

W ended up getting stuck in Edinburgh Scotland during the air strike. They cancelled our flight and No help to get us rebooked. All said down that cost us over $2,000 extra at least to get home. Hopefully we will be reimbursed somehow! Won’t be flying Air Canada again

The seating and lack of leg room. I paid extra for more leg room. The space for under seat storage was a joke.

Don’t book a middle or window seat the leg room was very tight and very difficult to exit your seat. I was sitting in a window seat. I’m not a large person. I booked economy plus for the extra room. There was no extra room for the additional cost to the flight.

The 787 Dreamliner that we flew on was relatively new and a nice aircraft. We flew on a 777 which was noticeably older and the seats were average” but the 787 was very nice, especially for the price. No window blinds anymore, instead high tech adjustable polychromatic glass!! Nice.

Would have liked more than just a cookie for breakfast

No Charging ports for personal electronics, which were required to use wifi entertainment.

an absolute disaster and nightmare on air condition. IT WAS FREEZING!! everyone around us had hats, hoodies, gloves outdoor jackets on. that segment of the aircraft had a fault I assume...no amount of suggestion to turn down the air con helped. otherwise all good.

Actually as my experience with air Canada from Canada to Newark it was crazy for me because it was a lot of delays which for me it shouldn’t be like that, but I was able to coup with it so that was my experience I hope next time they will do good on that thanks.

Everything was very good, short delay Toronto to Regina on my return to Canada but not a big deal. Thanks Kayak, Dr. Ian Stewart

Cabin crew lovely and accommodating and I'll always fly BA in the future

It was perfect. The service was exceptional. I would never want to cross the Atlantic in anyone else's sardine tins.

As I have said it sucked, the ticket counter to have to find and pay for another airline to get home. Now I understand this happened over the weekend but they should have someone there to talk to us instead of throwing the regular crew under the bus.

Everything excellent except for bag drop off. We started at the D area and that was so slow that it was eventually closed just as we were about to go to a station. We then went to F. We got one suitcase checked and then the screen showed that the station was no longer operable. There were long lines everywhere so we had to ask if we could butt in to the next station to finish. Again, this was the only incident, otherwise it was an excellent flying experience

Adequate to good experience. Comfort was mediocre but everything else was good..

They need to improve their service at the airport. Rather than a bus, they need to park the plane at a station like normal airlines to so passengers can just walk out of the plane into the airport and catch their next flight

Boarding was a complete shambles, groups in all the wrong places, queuing up before the crew had even arrived. Service was kind but slow, food was tasty and beautifully presented. Seat was comfy and private

It was a good experience, especially travelling with a baby and their accessories

what would have been better would have been that my booking not been canceled by the system and had I been informed that the booking had been cancelled by the system I could have immediately rebooked and not found out that there was an issue when I was told by the system that I needed to book in. It would have also been good if either the booking agent or BA or anyone been in anyway useful. In the end I had to rebook a flight at an additional cost of $350. So no I'm not impressed by BA any of the other parties involved.

we had to walk up stairs to get into the plane--no jetways. Perhaps that's a problem not with the airline but with facilities at Heathrow, Glasgow, and Edinburgh. But it was inconvenient.
