Your questions about flights to Kalamata, answered

  • Are there any hotels at Kalamata Airport?

No, there aren't any on-site hotels, but there are hotels and accommodation providers nearby that provide airport shuttles; when you book your accommodation near Kalamata, double-check to see whether you can arrange an airport transfer for your arrival. If you land late and want to stay somewhere nearby, then continue your onward journey in the morning, you could stay at the Hotel Drosia; it's a 3min drive from the airport, and a free airport shuttle is included.

  • Can I fly direct from London to Kalamata?

Yes, multiple airlines offer direct flights from London to Kalamata Airport. British Airways offers direct flights from London Heathrow Airport (LHR), easyJet has direct flights from London Gatwick Airport (LGW), and Ryanair offers direct flights from London Stansted Airport (STN). There are also several routes that have one stop. • How do I get from Kalamata Airport (KLX) to the centre of Kalamata?

Your guide to booking Kalamata flights

From booking to airport arrival, find tips to help you plan your flight with more confidence.
  • For the best chance at a low fare to Kalamata, aim to book around 13 weeks before you fly. That window historically saves about 39% versus last-minute pricing based on KAYAK booking data over the last 12 months.
  • For flights to Kalamata, recent KAYAK data shows that stronger deals tend to be around £167 return. If you see a fare below that threshold, it's a good deal – book before the price climbs back up.
  • If you can choose when to go, aim to travel to Kalamata in April. Return fares historically average £163 that month – typically the cheapest month to travel based on the last 12 months.
  • Before you book:

    • Check the route's typical price range so you can spot a deal.
    • Confirm baggage fees and seat selection costs on budget carriers.
    • Verify whether you need any travel documents beyond an ID.
    • Pick a departure airport, since your nearest may not be the cheapest origin.
  • Shift your departure to evening to save up to £81 per return. Evening flights to Kalamata average £212 compared to £293 for afternoon flights. See the time-of-day chart above for the full breakdown.
  • Bag allowances vary by airline, fare type, cabin class, and route. On flights to Kalamata, some airlines may include bags at no extra cost. For example, British Airways includes a cabin bag and a checked bag in Economy class, Jet2 includes a cabin bag and a checked bag in Economy class, and easyJet includes a cabin bag and a checked bag in Economy class. Always check the fare details before booking, since bag policies can change by ticket type.
  • Staying a little further out from Kalamata? We recommend that you book your transfer online before you fly; ground taxis can be expensive if you need to cover a long distance, and some resorts served by Kalamata Airport (for example, Stoupa) are around 1h away from the airport by car.
  • Want to see more of Greece once you've landed at Kalamata? You can book a hire car through KAYAK at the same time as you book your flight, then pick it up at the airport when you arrive. Multiple car hire agencies have desks in Kalamata Airport's Arrivals Hall.
  • Kalamata Airport (KLX) has no airport lounges, but if you're looking to relax near the airport before you fly, you could wait at the beach around Kalamata Marina. It's less than 15min by taxi to the airport, so you can enjoy the sun right up until you need to leave.
  • Got some work to do? Kalamata Airport has Wi-Fi but no dedicated work stations with charging ports. If you need to get work done, you're better off using one of the hotels near the airport. For example, the Messini Hotel is 5min from the airport and has a dedicated business centre with internet access.
  • Despite its small size, Kalamata Airport still has a couple of snack bars and a duty free area, so you can get refreshments and souvenirs on-site.

Apart from the delay, it was very good. Crew were great and the plane was great - looked like a newer one.

Generally excellent but a couple of areas could be improved. After boarding we were delayed a full 20 mins whilst various ground crew, flight crew, captain faffed around counting and recounting passengers. Said discrepancy between computer and manual. All OK in the end. So why o why did it take 20 mins to find all OK? No sense of urgency shown Secondly the seat base is just not supportive/resilienfor a 4½ hour journey - backside really aching by journey end.

The staff are just so friendly travelling alone was a bit scary but they made me feel comfortable and nothing was to much bother I loved how one of the girls was talking to the old ladies she really took time thank you jet2 shame I can’t get home with u guys 🥲

On time flight. Reasonable comfortable but a bit cramped. Excellent jet 2 staff as usual.

A good flight with friendly crew and check-in but disembarking was chaotic and badly managed

Flights were on time, boarding was straight forward. Very good attentive staf

Delays on both journeys - only found out before geting to the airport as had created trip within Kayak.

There is nothing I can think.of that jet2 need to improve They offer a great package. Very efficient

All was good but they should bring back seat pockets. It’s difficult trying to travel with small children and keep having to get stuff out of flight bag and then have nowhere to put it!

The flight was okay, seats slightly more comfortable than Easy jet, but wouldn’t want to fly much more than 3.5 hours in those seats, hard and uncomfortable for further journeys. Boarding was okay, never eat or drink on Eco airlines, food not good and expensive for what you get. But it is what it is, and for the price one can not really complain.

There was a delay because they had to switch planes it wasn’t explained very well nor were there updates.

Flight was two hours delayed then instead of flying to Gatwick we got diverted to Southend airport! Then they cancelled our flight and we all got told we had to get off the plane and make our own way to wherever we had to go? EasyJet just abandoned us, no help and as a tourist not knowing even where I was? Disgusting behaviour from the company!!

I’ve always flew with Ryan, but never again I’ll always fly with easyJet

There was no useful information given regarding the flight back to the UK from Tenerife. This despite the week publicised problems around the EES system and the delays caused to boarding. This aspect of the customer experience could have been much better.

Fast boarding, smooth takeoff and landing. plenty of space in seats. Excellent air-conditioning on a hot day. Perfect experience

Whole way through - far more professional and slick than I expected

Sitting on the last row in between the aisle and a massive person, all people going to the bathroom bumped into me including the flight attendants.

The best budget airline in Europe. Flight was on time, crew friendly and worked hard during flight and were able to meet our needs. Only downside (not the airline's fault), there were no rear steps.

It was transportation nothing more. I will give a positive rating over Ryanair. We missed our Ryanair flight the night before and received rude and unconcerned treatment from the Ryanair customer service. It was late. We were very tired and stressed after doing our best to get to the airport. The so called customer service ladies were completely unconcerned from the start. Aside from that, the flight to London seemed to be their opportunity for advertising. No time to relax as attendants were constantly in the aisle selling. I will never fly Ryanair again!!

Would have liked the plane to leave on time so I didn’t miss connection upon arrival. Some pathetic excuse as to late departure bought about by easyJet incompetence

I didn’t take that flight. My original flight was cancelled from Los Angeles. They rebooked me following day through Montreal My flight was LAX to YUL and YUL GVA

It makes no sense for several types of drinks to already be out of stock in the middle of the flight.

Pleasant and friendly staff. Comfortable aircraft. Speedy boarding. Took off on time. Arrived earlier than scheduled. Overall very enjoyable flight.

I have a walker I need it to get from the plane to customs and baggage claim. It had a huge orange tag on it saying it should be given to me as I got off the plane. It was not and the flight staff didn’t know where it was—both on my flight to London and on the return. In It was very frustrating

Very bad check in service. They hardly spoke of any English - at least in a way to communicate. Downgraded from Business due to seat malfunction. Could not even allocate a seat in economy with an empty seat next to me. So called manager at check in was a total waste of time

It's hard to tell where to plug in electronics, and the port on my seat didn't work. Their entertainment system was down. Vegetarian food options were tasty. Friendly, helpful flight attendants.

Our flight BA638 was cancelled with very short notice. It was supposed to depart at 7:25am. We had left Chichester at 3:30am in order to make the flight, and we were notified of the cancellation while en route to LHR. We were told the cancellation was necessary because a plane had not been scheduled to be at LHR for this flight! We were rescheduled to BA636. This flight was supposed to depart at 11:00am but didn't actually take off until ~12:30pm. Consequently we arrived in Athens several hours late, missing out on half a day of our sightseeing time. We had booked transport with MyTransfers to pick us up at the Athens airport and drive us to our Hotel Adonis. I was unable to get a refund for this service because our flight was so delayed. They required 24 hour notice of pick up time changes. I instead had to pay for a taxi at the airport. I have tried to fill out a request for compensation online but have been unsuccessful. How can I get help for filing a claim?

They could do everything better!! From the rickety plane to the flight attendants, when American Airlines is operated by British Airways, their standards are lowered! It’s like Macy’s, operated by Walmart!!

It was ok but not at a business class standard No entertainment system available which is poor for a 3+ hour journey Food was ok and service was good though

Late boarding with inconsistent excuses. Bulk head seats were very small and uncomfortable. 1 tiny candy bar and a water were only food provisions. Food for purchase was unavailable.
