Public transport buses do not go straight into the Tel Aviv city centre, however there are shuttle buses that do, they cost about 15 GBP per person and run 24 hours a day. They collect and drop off passengers at both terminals 1 and 3. Should you wish to go to Jerusalem, there is also a shuttle bus (number 485) running to Jerusalem for about 4 GBP per person.
The easiest way to get from the airport to Tel Aviv city centre is by train, especially for flights to Tel Aviv arriving in the middle of the night. However please be aware that it stops in the week-end from 3pm on Fridays and restarts after 8pm on Saturdays. Outside of those times, the train runs 24 hours a day and costs under 4 GBP.
Taxis in Tel Aviv have fixed airport fees, in general costing between 20 GBP to 40 GBP. The exact fare depends on the time of the day, number of passengers, and drivers may also be charge for luggage. There are also shared taxis called Sherut, found on ground level outside arrivals, which take about 10 passengers and run between the airport and Jerusalem or Haifa. They cost between 7 GBP and 23 GBP, depending on the destination.
While there isn’t a hotel located inside the airport, there are three hotels nearby. Avia Hotel & Resort is located within 7 mins, but doesn’t offer a shuttle service to and from the airport. Kfar Maccabiah Hotel & Suites and Sadot Hotel are both within 15 mins and both offer a shuttle service.

Cons: Initial flight from London to Rome left late, so missed connecting flight to Johannesburg. Although we were put up in a hotel and got a flight next day, missed another connecting flight, which was with another flight company and had to pay again to get another flight. No apology from the airline for the inconvenience this caused. The travel to South Africa was for an emergency and ended up getting there two days later.
Pros: I liked the explanation given by the pilot when we finally got our seats on the plane. Apparently one of the computer racks wouldn't switch on, so they changed some other computer racks, and then the delay was two hours so he decided we could go flying without the broken bit. No doubt they'll be having another attempt to fix it during the next delayed turn around, or he'll phone up tech support and do a factory reset.
Cons: The crew called the gate, allowed the entire flight to pass through the gate and then as we stood in the boarding gang way told us the flight had been delayed by the captain but they did not have any more information. We were then held for 2 hours sitting on the floor because the crew had taken our boarding cards and didn't want us to return to the terminal. At least I didn't pay for any upgrades as that was a just sitting on the floor closer to the plane. Funny how the plane miraculously got better when people started to talk about compensation!

Pros: So if you exceed 10KG by 100grams they will charge you as separate luggage. In my case I was 1 KG more so I paid 66 Eurosbor I won't board. Which was 20 minutes before take off. So I paid.
