We waited in the jetway for over an hour before we got on the plane.
My long-haul flight experience with this airline was not very pleasant. Earphones were paid, and no eye mask or other amenities were provided. The meals were served in cardboard boxes with plastic cutlery. The restroom was unclean and ran out of toilet paper. However, the boarding process was smooth and well organized.
The plane was very old, no power outlets. We also had to wait a long time to board. They kept moving us to different lines before we actually could step foot on the plane. We ended up being delayed an hour but we were never told or informed for any reason. After the meal I asked for a coffee which the flight attendant forgot and I had to ask again. Overall not the worst but not the best experience.
They didn't even give us water, everything was sold
i paid accidently for a second bag instead of a golf bag (Eur 40 instead of 50) they would give me credit when i tried to change the second bag from a regular suitcase to a golfbag. The comment was "you made a mistake, your problem"
Terrible app. Working off paper stickies for seat reservations doesn’t work anymore.
Impossible to check in via the App. Kept on getting emails offering upgrade. When followed through not available. Wasn't any food anyway.
Flights from MADRID to CARACAS and back Seats on the plane were too uncomfortable for a 9 hour trip, especially when the flight was completely full. Crew treated passengers as if we were cattle. Desperate rush to get food served so they could enjoy First class food at the back of the plane... I went twice to the back of the plane (no one answered the flight attendant button) to ask for coffee and was met with a very abrupt response... 'YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR IT'. The only thing staff could think of saying to me was 'la mascarilla senior!'.... In a way I do not blame Air Europa for getting away with this lamentable service, they are one of only two carriers flying between Spain and Venezuela so do not have any competition... I do not think they would dare offer the same service on a flight from London to Los Angeles!

I upgraded to businesses class. Because of that the flight was comfortable.
The incoming plane was late and no information was shared. They even announced we would board in 10 muntes 40 minutes prior to the plane arriving, and the website said until takeoff that we had taken off an hour earlier
A few years ago long flights 6 hours or so used to have video screens and they offered ear phones. The food cart used to come and drinks. Now absolutely nothing. Avianca is as bad as Spirit Airlines. Avianca will now be my last choice when booking my next flight.
They charged me $120 to check one bag and then charged me another $120 for a carryon. Ridiculous!
The airline doesn’t provide nothing To their customers. No water , no food , no any drinks, no any kind of entertainment for free or at least paid with money cash currency . They sell some basic goods only credit card . Shame for an old international long distance trip. Never again .
