Clean Horrible View
Loved the comfort of the hotel and the location Nothing
The hotel was in a great location, near the Gaslamp quarter, friendly staff, and could sit outside and have a great view of the water. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a bay view for $20. However, when we checked out we were actually charged $30/night for a total of $60 (so $40 more than we were expecting). The view wasn't that great, but wasn't terrible. It was almost a $600 stay (with the upgrade) and it may seem silly, but we were on a super strict budget so $40 more actually was a challenge for us. Also, the room only went down to 65 degrees and our room was quite warm so that did make sleeping a challenge. Overall, a pretty decent experience but disappointed that the hotel itself overcharged.
Excellent location All charges are extra Parking extra Water extra in room
Location and views Paying $35 a day to parking
The hotel was nice Hotel was expensive
Well kept room Terrible wi-fi and 17USD / day upgrade is utterly ridiculous
Price point and location We got a handicap room and I'm a Hilton member. No love there and it was my anniversary no love there!
Great location, rooms are spacious, lobby and building are beautiful. 5 minute walk from Gaslamp, 5 minute drive from Seaport Village and close to everything else. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.
Location is great. The view from our room was beautiful. Comfy and clean room. Too expensive. $35-$50 for parking. 18% gratuity upcharge for everything along with all their fees. No fridge in room. Ac didn't work well.
Great location. And close to restaurants
Location Given room with bad view. When others were available with good view.
Our checkin was quick and we love the location. I expected room to be a little cleaner for what we paid...
The room was beautiful and clean! The facilities were amazing and the gym was phenomenal. So much is available at this hotel. It's truly "grand".
The view They changed $47 for parking
Everything! Service and location was best Dusty room
Unlimited Access To EVERYTHING FUN Leaving
Facilities Location & price.
View. Room size. Location. When I woke up in the AM i noticed my iPhone was covered in dust. I then noticed the desk with my black laptop, across from the air conditioning vent was also covered in dust particles. This is a big deal for me because I have a dust mite allergy, but still have never seen this level of dust collect just overnight. I think the air filter vents in these rooms are very very dirty and just blow dust all night as Long as the AC is running. I was extremely congested all day due to my allergy and had a hard day networking at my convention. Also, the TV service this day and age is sub-poor. No guide and some of the channels didn't work "no signal".
Great location, we had a beautiful view of the water and of the pool area. The pool was very nice as were the hot tubs. The room was very clean and spacious and the staff was very polite. And I did not have to wait long for an elevator. The only issue we had was that our parking pass was note coded so we were unable to exit the garage. The staff quickly corrected it thouh.
Beautiful views of the marina, which is right out the back door. Great view of Coronado from the pool/jacuzzi deck. Nice ocean breeze. Proximity to Gaslamp Quarter is just a walk away, or a short cab ride. Staff is friendly and on top of cleanliness and service for guest needs. Pretty much top notch all around. Parking in the structure was difficult. More compact parking spots than regular size it seemed, which inevitably means trucks and oversized vehicles are going to park there anyway, so they do. Also, when we pulled up to valet, they said it was full, however, there were plenty of valet spots open in the parking structure. Maybe it was because we were in a Kia Sorento rather than a BMW X5. Also, once you do get parked, there is ONE elevator, or ONE set of stairs to get up and down to and from your car, which is very inconvenient. Once inside the hotel and settled though, aside from over priced food and drinks, it's a great luxurious family hotel. You get what you pay for. If It Were TOO easy, EVERYONE AND Their Mother Would Stay there. Overall: Parking=Booooooooooo! Staff, service and rooms=Yaaaayyyyy!
Great service and friendly staff. Room was clean and updated (with an incredible view). Also a great location for hitting the downtown SD spots. Only downside (very minor) is the breakfast in the hotel restaurant is buffet only. Would've liked an option to just get some eggs and a juice without paying $40 for all-you-can-eat. But there are plenty of other places to eat, so no worries. I'd definitely stay there again.
- Great location - Great drinking & dining options - Great interior design and decor - Clean - Loud guests after 10pm - A little on the expensive side - Add-on expenses (parking, water, etc)
Two-minute walk to the exhibit halls and lots of shops and restaurants just outside the hotel doors. Central location for site-seeing as well.
Location is amazing!! Very clean! Nice staff Didnt end up getting a room with two beds like I had reserved because I booked through a third party.
They gave my Wrong room
Staff was exceptionally nice & friendly. Room was perfect, clean & comfortable. Location was amazing, close to everything, but not too close, so noise was never an issue. Would be nice to have a larger bar that offered tap beer
Room was nice and clean. The view was great. Location was great, located is in the middle of gas lamp and the convention center to take the ferry to Coronado. No self parking garage. Valet only at $47 a night.
Very expensive parking
Very good location for the Gaslamp Quarter Didn't know that it was Valet Parking only at $47 per night. With this charge added to the room charge per night, I don't think I'd stay here again.
Convenient location, friendly staff. Super corporate, fixtures seemed old, rooms poorly ventilated.
Hotel was excellent location. From the minute we drove up to valet to checking in and out, customer service was great. Right in the main location of downtown gaslamp, next to Petco park which we were there for the All Star game. Had an amazing time. Would definitely stay here again. Customer service, location and hotel. Room was comfortable.
The hotel was lovely and the concierge was super helpful in finding me a place to get a relaxing mani-pedi.
Loved the room and location At check in, the young man at the front desk seemed a little condescending and rude.
Room per night was cheap 120... plus tax... I was there for comic con...it's a hotel it's not a 4 star hotel though...maybe for location but the amenities are very basic and the guy there was rude at the front desk.
Solid hotel as always Front desk clerk who checked us in was not professional and quite curt. Train your staff for those who travel far distances who deserve a little common courteously, will you?
The room was clean and well laid out. The bed was comfortable, and the windows was nice and big. The bathroom stayed humid/moist for a long while after taking a shower.
Staff was very courteous, rooms were clean and well stocked, beds were comfortable and had clean sheets. Clise to bars and restaurants. Overall very comfortable. Location is a bit far from the beach
Very friendly and helpful employees everywhere! Need better nacho chips
Staff were very nice. Clean hotel. Very accommodating I got charged $42 fot valet parking. Valet parking should be free. You are already spending money in staying in that hotel why wouldn't the valet parking be included?? That's one thing I was Not happy about.
it's a great location. Easy access to any part of sd. Our neighbors were partying until 4 am despite complaints. Hotel did not do anything about it.
Its was clean staff was amazing I have nothing that we didn't like
Facilities were very well kept. Room was very nice, and looked out over the Bay Area. Great location to GasLamp Quarter, restaurants, and connects to Petco Park. Great proximity to the convention center. Staff was accommodating. Concierge and valet staff were very knowledgeable on good places to eat/see in San Diego and other surrounding vicinities such as La Jolla, Coronado, etc. Also, got a little discount on zoo tickets by purchasing them at the hotel. Valet parking is a little steep. They charge $40.00/day. I agree they should charge for the service as its quicker and easier for someone to park your car and bring it to you, but $40.00/day is a little high. On the upside, you can use it as much as you want.
friendly staff, very clean rooms, beautiful view, accessible inconvenient parking fees for valet, no fridge in rooms, pricey
Loved the location, bed, look and feel of the room, and the staff. I stayed in a water facing room with a (sort of) balcony on the 20th floor. It was a tremendous view I had a fantastic time. Couldn't possibly be closer to gas lamp district The room was a bit small and unequipted for the price per night. No microwave or refrigerator unless you call and ask for one to be sent up which was a bit tedious. Overall only complaint I could have
I love everything about this hotel! From the location, the rooms, the staff, the bar and restaurant, to the new friends I made.
The room and view we're great. Very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable, I took pictures of the label to buy the same mattress for my self. The valet parking Was over priced at $41/day. Especially since there is a garage 3 blocks away that is only $15/per day but I had a broken ankle and had to use their valet parking. Most of the time had to wait over 20 min one day they misplaced my car after about 45 min had to go with the valet to find my car in the garage. To the hotel's credit they were very apologetic and comped my valet parking fee for my entire stay so they still have good customer service in my book.
Very dog friendly, friendly professional staff, comfortable spacious room
The hotel was clean and modern, what I would expect from a down town hotel. There was advertised parking but it was valet and an extra 40+$. Nothing extravagant, aveda products, ample space, modern touches, restaurant and bar on site. In gaslamp quarter perfect for walking any where. Every thing was clean No parking, they have valet. It's 40+$. Views of other buildings, down town standard. Thermostat didn't bother me, but was a bit warm for my partner.
It was a beautiful, well managed and well located hotel I did not like that when I booked it said parking was an amenity. That made it seem like it was included. It would have been helpful to know that it only offered valet parking that is $41/night. That was a big shock when we arrived and a bit upsetting it was not mentioned before we booked
pretty clean place, very good location, very good value for a money. Valet scratched a bumper on my car, they took responsibility for it right a way, absolutely no questions asked. They had their report when checked in, all paperwork ready, and handled the accident in a best way. Offered as a 4 star hotel. IT IS NOT A 4 STAR IT IS A 3 STAR!!! Does not have a pool or a Jacuzzi. Asked for a housekeeping twice, room was never cleaned up, called for a 3rd time, they said "crew has gone home" but we can send you some towels... . That's when I expected to stay in a 4 stare hotel. Valet took 30 min to bring a car. Bumper got scratched.
Beautiful room (upgrade) Great location Friendly and helpful staff Excellent upkeep Parking is high... better to use taxi/uber
Proximity to downtown SD. No pool, no airport shuttle.
Clean, great location, nice room and a modern feel. Valet is 41 bucks... Give me a break. Parked a block away for $15
The room was very clean and well designed. The bed was just right soft. Pet friendly hotel. The staff was very friendly. Room needs a fan to move the air because the a/c stops at around 69 degrees.
I paid 42$ for valet because i didn't want to walk the 2 blocks away for self parking that cost 30$. It isn't the amount that bothered me the valet scratched my brand new 2016 highlander. None of the valets fessed up and I didn't notice until after i checked out and drove off.
It was quiet and close enough to walk to the trolley and other activities in the gaslamp area. Liked the security of the elevator requiring the key card to go up to the room. Staff was friendly. Parking is too expensive so we didn't feel like we could afford to rent one to get around. The restaurant coffee was too expensive. More than Starbucks.
I love the location! The view was pretty good. Loved the room. I'm a huge fan of Aveda products and for them to have them there, was a huge plus! The friendly staff was great. Always greeting and always smiling. And the price was good. Great place to stay. Not a big fan of $40 valet parking. I didn't like that they didn't offer smoking rooms. Also, I didn't like that you couldn't vape up stairs at their rooftop bar. Why we left to another roof top bar that did allow vaping. That was kind of a bummer.
This hotel is very chic and modern loved everything about it!
The staff. The staff were beyond curteous and very welcoming. Made our stay a very pleasant one and will definitely be visiting Kimpton Hotels in the future because of them.
Perfect location for Gas Lamp bars and food.
Room was dirty
Near the convention center and very comfortable. No complaints
The lacation was fantastic.

Great location just seconds away from Petco in the Gaslamp The lobby lounge area was dirty Carpets look old with stains Morning coffee was a treat but only if you got there before it was a mess
Great location and very nice staff (did a lot extra due to it being my GF's Bday). No
Very modern hotel, friendly staff and great location to many shops and restaurants Bed wasn't very comfy
Awesome location for Halloween celebrations!! Had so much fun! Lots of places to go within walking distance. Didn't have to leave the hotel except that we wanted to people watch. The costumes were amazing! Can't beat the Gaslamp for Halloween!

The bed was very comfortable and my view was amazing! One of my towels was dirty upon arrival.
Fine hotel Was charged for a king suite and received a regular room. Haven't received the credit yet.
Location was fantastic, the room was completely adequate for what I needed and the fact that I could stay on the 4th floor and not hear the rooftop club was amazing! I didn't eat at either restaurants because they looked expensive enough that I didn't want to bother as there were hundreds of great restaurants within a 2 minute walk from the hotel. I love the Starbucks in the building and your staff was outstanding. I'll have to check but if I got charged $50 for the "All Access Pass" I will be disappointed because I didn't use it. I know that you are catering to the 21-40 demographic so I would have thought that you would have had restaurants set up for that group, as opposed to a high end sushi restaurant that looked empty most of the times that I walked by. Food and drink is where your bread and butter profit is so why not entice people in with better, less expensive restaurants?
The room decor and layout was very modern and had a nice feel to it.The staff was very friendly and nothing but helpful when needed. Couldn't have asked for better service. The mattress was a bit too soft for my liking. Also the walk in shower looked great and the dual shower heads were nice but it caused large amounts of water to pool up where you're supposed to dry off
Location is excellent - in the heart of Gaslamp Quarter, actually right next to the Gaslamp sign. Pretty good view depending on where the room is located. Direct exits to 5th Ave, 6th Ave, and L St is a nice added convenience. Studio King room was great - clean, modern decor, comfortable bedding, great bathroom with rainfall and standard shower head, iPhone 5+ dock, good channel selection on TV. Lobby and surrounding have nice, clean, modern decor. After housekeeping, we found that the original iPhone dock we were provided was switched for a different model. The original one was better for us, as we could directly mount the phone for charging without a cable needed. The newer model required a cable, which we didn't have. Called the desk and they didn't know why it was switched, and said they'd follow up to resolve the issue... they never did. Overall, staff is not the most helpful.
Location was great. Right at the start of the Gaslamp District. Walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. Close to the baseball stadium. Staff was friendly and offered good suggestions for dinner. Gym was nice. Arrived on the day of a baseball game. Road closures made it difficult to get to the valet drop off point. Valet only. Cannot park your own car. Wish the hotel room was more clean. Lots of items in the room (i.e. Snacks and items for purchase) that hadn't been swapped out in a long time. For a 4 star hotel I expected a little more. Room needed a refresh - signs of wear and tear.
Great location, great staff, clean, funky and fun. Rooms are small and water pressure sucks.
Stop charging resort fees. Include microwave and minifridge in each room.
Tech /music accesbility. Hospitality. Clubs, bars, and restaurant in the building Price for parking
Nice Location High price
Mattresses are too soft
We were able to walk to everything we wanted in gaslamp from here. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good an extremely convenient. $20 for parking seemed like a lot. Also breakfast was good but the coffee was aweful.
Free breakfast and wi-fi with easy walking distance to convention center and sights at Gaslamp district. Front desk helpful, especially with calling cabs. Rooms were cleaned daily. Small room, but cozy.
Small-ish room, but free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, and only a couple blocks from the Gaslamp District. The bed was comfortable, the staff were attentive. There was a fridge in the room for leftovers. No complaints. I'd definitely stay here again.
The location The room was small. Toilet inside was dirty . Old and not worth the money paid
I was not satisfied seeing as how they tried to charge my card after they said they wouldn't and also charge my mom's card when my mother was the one who already paid for the room. They charged me an extra 100$ on top of the 100$ my mother put down
Excellent for the price and location!
We stayed for a baseball trip. The hotel was very close to the park and convention center. Plenty of restaurants and nightlife nearby. Breakfast was very good! The temperature on the shower kept fluctuating. We were given a parking pass and found a ticket on the car the next morning.. Still waiting to make sure that is taken care of by the hotel.
I loved it all! That that the its in the gaslamp district, inexpensive and room includes so many amenities .
I could not have asked for a better location. We were in the heart of gaslamp! The night scene was perfection for all ages and had a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and clubs near by. but by far THE BEST PART was that when it was time to retire for the night the room was very COMFORTable. Not a negative thing to say.
Only good part is the location and the staff was friendly Facilities are sub par and room was dirty. Entire hotel had a bad musty smell. Definitely not worth the price.
Nice clean little place, an easy safe walking distance from the San Diego Conference Center with a particularly nice breakfast spread. I've stayed here several times.
Not too far walk to gaslamp Dirty, old, so noisy that even with earplugs I was constantly being woken up in the middle of the night by bums yelling, car stereos, and sirens... And I'm a heavy sleeper so that's saying a lot.
Really great location. We went for a date night and were close to great restaurants, nightlife and the mall. Really loved the Victorian feel Tiny room! No fridge in the room (sad to not store our dinner left overs)
I loved the whole experience! Friendly staff, helpful front desk and the rooms were SO beautiful! We will definitely be coming back :) I didn't like how short my stay was...nothing you could do! When we had brunch, I feel as though we could have had faster service but other than that the food was yummy and the space was beautiful!
I liked the location, the decor, the patio dining, food, staff, price. Nothing.
Nice ambiance. Restaurant was great. Front desk service was very friendly. Being near the convention center it was a bit noisy and rooms that face the center courtyard are subject to echo of conversation late at night.
Charming hotel with unique "old times" style with newer modern amenities. Their balcony rooms are beautiful and the beds are amazingly comfortable. Great location for gaslamp!
You guys cancelled my reservation for a conference....... You guys cancelled my reservation for a conference....... :(
The whole experience was great. The room was perfect for the 2 of us and the gas fireplace was wonderful. We had a great view as well. The downstairs courtyard was gorgeous and I wish we had taken advantage of it more. The location was ideak, walking distance from everything we wanted and needed to do. The staff was super friendly and the room service was great. i would just suggest bigger pillows :)
Room nicely appointed and bed extremely comfortable The valet needs to bring his coffee with him at 7am or drink before he leaves home. I had to rustle him up to make an 8am appointment.
The location was fantastic, right in the middle of downtown. Walking distance from nearly everything. The price was significantly better than other much pricier hotels in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The fireplace in the room didn't really work. The maintenance guy came to the room, but couldn't figure out how to fix it. Not a huge deal, but a bit disappointing. The ceiling above us was creaky... every time the people in the room above would move around the ceiling would creak and squeak. It was annoying, but otherwise the room was quiet.
The hotel definitely had a lot of charm. It was nice and clean. A lot details throughout to notice. It had a New Olrleans-esque courtyard that was really nice. Room was a bit smaller than expected. I didn't like that there was no place in the hotel to heat up any food.
Clean, nice, and elegant hotel. Great location to Gaslamp District near bars and restaurants.
location was nice. Common areas beautiful. Staff helpful. Overall clean. In general, happy with our 1 night stay too celebrate anniversary Room on the small side, which was ok for our short stay, but not if you've got plenty of luggage. Some minor details could use touch ups (e.g., bottom corner of doors in bathroom chipped). Not sound proof.
Really liked the Hotel. The location was great. Service was excelent. We will stay there again.
convenience to Petco Park, Seaport Village, & the Midway carrier lack of free parking
Everything was very clean, tidy and the staff made you feel at home. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The night time hours were quite noisy due to guests in rooms close by coming and going around midnight/1am.
Again the staff was excellent, from the valet guy to the maids, they all go beyond there line of duty. The room I stayed looked like one of the older ones that hasn't been updated, the beds were worn and very lumpy, the shower did not work properly.
Early check-in, option to add microwave, fridge and a crib, friendly staff and fast service. $15 self parking per night right across the street. Small restaurant, no swimming pool or a gym.
it right by Petco Park, you can see the baseball game from our room no pool or hot tub, parking was incredibly high $32
The location is great, right in the Gaslamp Quarter. Everything is walking distance. They charge for US$30.00 for an overnight valet parking. There is no other possibility to park anywhere nearby. I think 30 dollars is a lot for it,. or they should include this in the hotel room rate so the guests will not feel that they need to pay some more extras.
Great location walking distance to food and bars/clubs. Rooftop bar was good but overpriced drinks The beds were really small
the front desk was very accomodating to any questions or requests we had
Roof top bar is a lot of fun No swimming pool
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the service was good. The facility is very nice and the location is prime. Everything was overpriced. Valet was $47 a night ($35 for self parking), the hotel charged an extra $12 for Internet service, and the room service arrived in a paper bag and plastic cups (very disappointing).
The location and the view of the room Subaverage room. The price of the room and the room itself does not match. Small beds, small bathroom, small sink area, not a luxury hotel, less than average room.
Experience was great
Great gym; liked having Starbucks in hotel. Great location. Construction site. Hallways super narrow. Bathrooms small. Will be nice to see it in a year from now
Option for self parking with option to come in and out. Great fitness area and pools. A little pricey. Internet charge.
Nice grounds, hotel staff very friendly. While on vacation being woken up at 4:00 am and 6:00 am every morning due to construction work being done on the expansion of the conference center was a bit maddening. I got the impression that they were behind schedule due to the 3:30 am dumpster clean out. The services at the one and only restaurant was very poor. Complete mayhem in the understanding of the services due to poor management, Often times we would have to go look for a server to get a drink at the lounge area.
Large clean room, good views, many on-site amenities shops and restaurants, great location, helpful efficient staff. Expensive rooms, extra charge for internet, no ventilation fan in the bathroom.
The location, staff, atmosphere spectacular customer service. The pool area was heavenly. I wasn't able to stay forever.
Location Family friendly Great staff Would definitely stay there again! Self parking is horrible. Valet parking is $45 a night.
Beds were comfortable. Concierges were all great -- friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Pool was lovely, view was lovely. Nice pre-set videos for fitness classes. I did the yoga. Balcony quite small. Restaurant nice for breakfast buffet but dinner wasn't very good.
Love the pool area, felt as if I where in an all-inclusive-resort. Like that the Boardwalk was just steps away. Would definitely recommend this hotel I stayed on the South Tower, did not like the construction noise and sight of construction
As a young couple, we have not stayed at many nice hotels. This was a very refreshing look into the "adult" world, and truly sets a precedent for what a well put together hotel looks like. No complaints whatsoever.
Space, cleanliness and kitchen, will definitely recommend. Parking valet is $41, ouch !!!!
I liked everything. Great location right in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter, friendly and helpful staff, downstairs bar, clean and spacious room, nice decor, free wifi, and the mobile check in via text was a cool feature. $40 valet is the only parking option offered by the hotel, and although I didn't have a problem with the service, a discount for hotel guests would be nice
The room was clean and comfortable. The location for functions at he Convention Center is excellent.
Great location, right in the heart of downtown. It was a block away from a CVS and close to other grocery stores. Extremely close to the Padre's baseball stadium and about a mile or two away from the USS Midway. For the price and location it can't be beat. I chose a shared room with 4 other guys. Our window faced the street. I don't drink alcohol so it was a little hard to get some sleep. We either had the window closed to help muffle the noise and were really hot, or we had the window open and had a lot of outside noise.
I like it on general, their breakfast was nice and the staff is pretty helpful and nice Did not like the the soap and the room location only it's not facing the street
The room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathrooms pretty well maintained, pleasant staff. Basic breakfast but I guess that is standard for hostels, at least it was something. Not too far from public transportation. HI San Diego took care of my needs while I was checking out the city for a couple days. More counter space in the bathrooms would be nice. Several of my toiletries fell in the sink/on the floor because there is not much room for a girl to spread out her things. Also their power source is weak or something. I had to sit around and wait forever for my phone to charge at the end of each day and I tried several outlets in the building. It would have been nice to have an outlet by my bed so I could charge overnight.
