Cons: "Aer lingus uses double prong headphones which dates the whole experience earphones are uncomfortable and volume is bad. You have to pay for booze in economy for international flight, seats aren’t that comfortable but the selection of movies and tv is good. I will probably look elsewhere next time"

The Aer Lingus flight was fine, but Vanama, the middle agency that youhave processed my tickets through- caused me a lot of stress. The daybefore my flight, I was trying to check in, and I received a message thatmy reservation was cancelled. I called Vanama, who rudely put me on morethan 30- minute hold on the phone, told me that Aer Lingus would not dealwith them, but the customer directly. I told him(Daniel of Vanama) that Ihave paid for my fare, that it was their responsibility, not mine to dealwith the airline. Never-the-less I tried calling the Airline, severaltimes, and listened to their own voice messages up to 2 in the morning ofthe day of my flight. Lacking sleep, and still not packed, I went to bed, went very early to the Madrid airport. I knew by the look on the AerLingus(Cristina) staff that there was a problem---she went ahead issued mea boarding pass, told me to go to the ticket counter in Dublin, and ask forhelp. After going from one floor to another, and another, to twodifferent staff-the problem sorter at Aer Lingus told me, Vanama never issued the ticket. That they should not have let me board the plane in Madrid, but he said he took care of the mess. Now you want to know how my flight went."

(A big help after a long trip and short on $!) And the best part? They dealt with U.S customs before we left Dublin so that we didn't have to deal with the long lines in Boston. So grateful!!!"

Overall, this flight was a nightmare and a huge let down after flying to Rome on British Airways. I can't say enough about how wonderful that flight was..Aer Lingus was a big disappointment and a poor substitute for BA. Very unsatisfied customer!"

It cost us (1) car rental, (2) lost day of sightseeing, (3) price of a new car seat, and (4) price of a replacement car seat when we returned home as the one we could find on the trip is not legal in the US."

Cons: "The entertainment service in my seat was not working. I had to ask two different flight attendant in 3 times occasions for help. Finally, one of them told that she could only do something after finishing serving food to the plane (worth mentioning that at this time, she hadn't start serving food). After 3,5 hours (on a 6,5 hour flight) she said that her colleague would re-start the system. After 30 more minutes, and after I went to asked what happened, she said that the system was not functioning and that there was nothing else she could do other than giving me some refreshments."

The scheduled time is longer than any flight has taken, but I think this is actually a realistic approach given the probability of a delay. There is an issue with 2-3 year olds and seat belts - they are not allowed to travel on a parent's lap, but they can wriggle out a lap belt easily and so are unsecured."

Checking in online was mandatory-something that wasn’t very noticeable in the email when we had a million other trip details to attend to so we didn’t and ended up having to pay a fee to check in. Ridiculous. My wife and I were not seated together even though I booked both tickets together. The inexpensive upfront price of the flight is not worth it since they will trick you into paying in other ways."

Cons: "nickel & dimed entire process. Crew hates their lives so they yell at passengers. They would not allow you to lower your window shade at any point during the flight and would verbally assault you if you did."

Cons: "We followed all carryon size and weight guidelines and passenger carried on bags much larger and heavier than ours. Why did we bother?"
