Top tips for finding a cheap flight from Edmonton to Scotland

  • Edmonton and Scotland might be more than 6,000 kilometers apart, but you will still be able to find flights from Edmonton International Airport (YEG) to Scotland. Before booking a flight, though, you’ll need to figure out which airport in Scotland you would like to fly to, as Edinburgh Airport (EDI) and Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ) will both be options. You’ll also have to decide which airline to fly with since Air Canada, American Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, and Virgin Airlines can all take you from Edmonton to Scotland.
  • Many airlines will be able to help you travel from Edmonton to Scotland, but none of them will be capable of offering direct flights. You’ll have to make one, two, or even three stops between Edmonton International Airport and your final destination. • As you fly from Edmonton to Scotland, try to get some sleep if you can. It’ll prevent jet lag and make your travel time go by faster. You may want to explore the idea of upgrading to first class when traveling with an airline like Air Canada or American Airlines, as it will give you access to a lie-flat seat. You might want to book an economy-class ticket with one of these airlines first and then look out for emails advertising cheap upgrades to first class.
  • If you fly first class from Edmonton International Airport to Scotland, you should be able to bring several bags without facing baggage fees. Otherwise, you will have to pay to check bags through airlines like Air Canada, American Airlines, and others. They’ll often charge you around $30 for one bag and $50 for a second one.
  • To make sure you don’t miss a flight from Edmonton to Scotland, plan to get to Edmonton International Airport two to three hours before your flight. It’ll give you plenty of time to get through security in time for your international flight. I didn’t have any food but my Prosecco hit the spot. We left on time and the crew was friendly.

Flight didn’t happen because both my connections were lost and Toronto wouldn’t let me board. I was checked in to all 3 flights at the check-in fest in Dublin.

I wasn’t able to book or pay for a seat and they forgot to check me in for my third flight so I spent 24 hours in Toronto waiting for another one.

Flight was delayed for 5hours. Food vouchers just aren’t good enough

Flight was early. That’s the only positive I can share. I paid for wifi on the flight and it didn’t allow me to use any streaming services so it was a waste of $20. West Jet also lost my ski equipment on my way to a ski vacation. They told me it would be delivered to the hotel as soon as it arrived at the airport. It was never delivered. I had to pick it up at the airport on my way home. I am completely disgusted with my experience on west jet

No kiosk to help pre boarding unlike other airlines, still lost the luggage despite its own crew/TSA or security tagging it, poor handling of lost luggage and possibly compensation is likely poor too.

Everything was great until we had to get our bags. The bags came out in several different batches over 90 minutes after we landed maybe more we got our bags. So much for the old West Jet where they promised bags in 20 minutes. I Next time I will pack lighter and go with a carry-on.

The flight was full and good as could be expected. We arrived early which is always a good thing.

Plane was one hour late. Hardly any space for our carry-ons. Stressful to catch connections.

I like the wider seats, Plus lots of legroom, Lacking entertainment, no tv or screen to play with
