The following is a review for a flight from Johannesburg to Washington, DC with a connection at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and refueling landing at Rome, Italy. The flight was provided by Ethiopian Airlines. There were two of us: me and my wife on this flight. Everything was on time. Enough legroom between the seats, I was able to stretch my legs and sleep for at least some time during the 14 hour second flight (19 hours in total for both flights). Very decent meals that included two lunches and one breakfast on the flight from Addis Ababa to Washington and one lunch on the flight from Johannesburg to Addis Ababa. The lunch choices were beef, chicken and fish, I think the vegetarian option was available as well, accompanied with beans. The breakfast was a choice between egg and pancake, accompanied with a fruit salad. The egg breakfast was awesome, it came with a scrambled egg and a sausage. However, my wife mentioned unusual taste of the pancake breakfast meal, by all means those were not pancakes. What wasn't good: Externally initiated commercials on the infosystem screens, you couldn't turn the screen off. These commercials were accompanied by loud and annoying music, transmitted through the entire cabin. Obviously, there was no escape from this music as well. Additional moment: on the flight from Addis Ababa to Washington, DC, we landed at Rome for refueling. This was totally fine and it was in the flight itinerary. But, the flight attendant asked me to straighten the seat while we were at the steady position during the refueling. I can't rationalize this order except that some people just like to be a boss of some kind. Keeping the light lit in the economy cabin while keeping it dimmed in the first class also didn't improve my and my wife's feelings. Overall, the services were very good and the flight, despite its longevity, went on very smoothly.

The TV wasn't working No music for the whole flight from JFK to LOS It was too burring.
I had a comfortable seat that makes my trip wonderful. I appreciate the Ethiopia crew, they were very helpful
Food was really not appealing. There was a blocked sink in the toilet. Toilet is cramped and the wall between the 2 toilets are not secured properly.
Plane was late with no information or announcement … had to walk up n downstairs.., had not communicated this … and ppl had suitcase to carry .
Like: It arrived, Dislike: Boarding was a separate corridor with no counter announcements at the passenger waiting area. Very dirty airplane and toilets, food options were terrible - everything even the vegetarian option was a curry spice. Many other passengers using the toilets would not lock the door and kept door partially open during use - flight attendants would not enforce or direct them to lock it and light turns on, no entertainment options at all, other passengers would be singing and not peaceful. Atrocious flight experience.
My entertainment screen wasn't working and they couldn't fix it.
It is just ok, the sits are very uncomfortable, the temperature too low and there weren’t blankets. The food is mediocre and there are no screens to watch movies.
The food really sucks And they really need to work on entertainment The movie selection is herendous .
I've never been served three bread courses in a single meal before. Was really impressed by the novelty of that.
Worst Airline Experience of My Life – I Would Never Fly EgyptAir Again Our family of four traveled from Makkah to Washington Dulles (IAD) with a connection in Cairo, and it was by far the worst airline experience we have ever had. Our problems began before we even reached Cairo. The aircraft made what felt like an extremely hard and rapid descent, causing severe ear pain for me and my children. My son was crying in pain. When I asked a flight attendant for earplugs or any assistance, she simply replied that they had nothing. At Cairo Airport, EgyptAir left us and three other connecting passengers in a deserted area away from the terminal. Despite a three-hour layover, multiple requests for help, and shuttle vans passing every few minutes, the staff refused to assist us. Only after another passenger loudly confronted the staff were we finally allowed onto a shuttle, leaving us with barely an hour before departure. The onboard experience was just as disappointing. A middle-aged male crew member was rude and dismissive. During our 13-hour flight, no one offered us water, our call button was ignored, and meal trays remained in front of us until I had to repeatedly ask for them to be removed. The food was unpleasant, the aircraft was dirty, and the seats and windows were covered with fingerprints and grime. Cairo Airport itself was shockingly dirty and poorly maintained. I have flown with Emirates and Etihad Airways, and the difference is remarkable. Those airlines prioritize professionalism, cleanliness, safety, and customer service. EgyptAir did not. This experience was stressful, exhausting, and unacceptable for my family. I am sharing it because I do not want other families to go through the same ordeal. I will be telling my family, friends, colleagues, and anyone considering EgyptAir about what we experienced so they can make an informed decision. If I could give zero stars, I would. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend EgyptAir to anyone.
During the direct flight to egypt with egyptair the crew was very rude and forced me to accept food when i had asked if they had juice because i was not hungry and did not want the food he just yelled and gave me the food and so i asked my husband to ask him in arabic to take the food back because i did not ask for this and he told my husband to keep the food my husband is palestianian jordanian and i am irish american so clearly some discrimination towards me took part here not my husband as he respected my husband in his tone , i had been to egypt alone before and other parts of the middle east alone long before i met my husband and i have traveled with my family since a baby by plane for extra perspective as half my family is upstate new york and the other half texas . So every year of my life on planes before solo traveling and this is the only time my entire life i was given by force food on a plane by a flight attendant and yelled at to keep the food and felt unsafe the entire flight to egypt and the entire return flight from egypt because the plane was not the best quality and the return flight the entire flight the air conditioning among other things did not work . I will definitely try my best to find other options in future travels to egypt as i love egypt and loved egypt long before being married to my husband and i will be back even if alone .
Hello, I did not take the flight from IAD to Cairo- Istanbul on July 14 and could not travel because my next flight was from Istanbul to Tehran. Due to the tension there, I was advised to not to travel. Indeed, I was at the IAD airport at the boarding time 9am, on july 14, I informed egypt air counter head then that I am not taking the flight to Cairo and istanbul!, the team head gave me the contact of local office of egyptair in vienna, VA but they were not in the office on July 14 and I left three voice messages and email explaining my situation to them, but no reply came back from Egyptair Virginia office yet.!! I then informed underpricer customer support on whatsup about the situation and there auto reply sustem said that the support team would call to arrange for rescheduling or refund. but no one contact me yet. Can you provide proper support ?? Thank you Alaa Mohseni B 703655 1662 conf no. CYFFHW
Overall it was a good flight like any other normal flight staff could a littler nicer pretty short and was their to do their job so overall good services can’t complain
The experience exceeded my expectations and reflected the significant progress.
My flight was great. Service by the crew was great. Only issue I had wss it got extremely warm mid way thru the flight. To the point it was a little uncomfortable
As usual, the flight was late with the typical excuse of "a technical issue beyond our control." This is the same excuse they use every late flight which is EVERY flight.
To be honest, there has been a significant improvement in the level of EgyptAir in terms of service and food quality.
Flight was delayed for 3 hrs and there is nothing at the terminal except going back through security again. Food was offered but no vegetarian option
Despite paying business class, the angle seat was uncomfortable. The crew was just ok. The baggage checkin was a mess at JNB.
