Pros: "Due to a hurricane, I actually missed my original flight date, but Aer Lingus allowed me to rebook (2 days later!) at no cost, which was really great of them. Absolutely no wait at check-in and very good service there. Got window seats on both legs of flight, with no one in my row. Meals on first flight leg were very good. Crew did a good job and made me confident of their work. Both flight legs arrived early. Everything went well. Very good airline - I will certainly fly with them again."

Cons: "It was a short flight, but we had to walk literally a mile (I measured it with my fitbit) to get to the gate to board. Manchester security is frustrating...they follow different rules. Turns out you DO have to have your camera and ANY electronics (European converter, batteries, charging stations) placed outside your carry on. Only place that did it. And then they kept me in security for over an hour to have 3 different levels of security ask me the same questions over and over again. Don't know why they flagged me...maybe a false positive...as usual they won't tell you a damn thing. But the security guys weren't bad people..just been given their orders."

The seats are veryyy cramped, the entertainment system was outdated, the food was gross and wine was expensive."

They are supposedly partner airlines but told us we had no choice and had to wait till aerlingus opened customer service. We were stuck for 7 hours outside of security with our bags and 1 Duncan donuts kiosk. The 12 hr overall layover was bad enough without that. I understand that booking through discount sites comes with its own cost, but you should know if you have assigned seats and that your baggage will make it."

And there was no indication when booking the ticket (which was about $700) that there wouldn't be any meals. Even the selection to purchase was poor. In a 5+ hour flight the crew passed only once with beverages. They completely turned off the lights during the entire duration of the flight. Overall, by far the worst International flight I have ever been on. I wont choose Icelandair again. And I will let my colleagues know about my experience."

Please be sure that your representatives do not LIE to customers as it is misleading and unnecessary. I usually have great experiences with this airline and this misinformation was rather disappointing."

Cons: "It took three attempts to land. First Manchester, then Liverpool and finally (after declaring a fuel emergency) back at Manchester. Everyone knew a storm was brewing so why didn't the plane have extra fuel on board in case of a diversion?"

The check in staff were rude and homophobic at check in, forcing my partner and I to separate for check in while we watched heterosexual partners check in together freely. The disabled toilet alarm broke as we descended into NYC and we listened to end-of-the-world death sirens as we were landing. It was not communicates that food was a microtransaction on flight and was so overpriced so we went nearly 13 hours without food because the flights were also delayed on the tarmac. The de-icing tow truck in Iceland was broken down so we were delayed two hours on the layover. On return, both Icelandair gates opened late. During the layover we were kettled in hot container units before 20 min before being bussed to the plane and held for 15 minutes. Then, the icing on the cake was landing back at Gatwick and seeing my brand new luggage I bought on the trip damaged with thr back pocked ripped out along the bottom seam. I will never again ride with these rude, price-gouging, apathetic amateurs."

There was a medical situation that cost me far more than and then they would not honor my ticket to Manchester, so I had to fly WOWair to Bristol UK instead."

Then it was 14. And an hour later, we left. Apparently it was still five. That is how many of us were still waiting at the carousel when all the bags had come off. I suspect Iceland Air decided that was an acceptable number and sent us on knowing that they hadn't found all the bags. I did eventually get my bag... six days later and after quite a few unanswered messages. That is partly because Iceland subcontracts list bag service to a company called THS, which again subcontracts delivery to a company called APC. All of these appear allergic to caulking US numbers. Iceland Air for the win."

Cons: "Although I paid for a confirmed seat and chose my seat 6 months in advance, when 24 hour check-in rolled around I was told I had been moved to standby and would thus only have a seat if there were any left once everyone else had checked in. I had to wait until I arrived at the airport the day of to even find out if I had a seat. There were only two left when I checked in, so I just barely got on the flight. I had originally chosen a seat next to a friend traveling with me in the middle of the cabin, in the end I got a seat in the very back of the plane- no room in the overhead bins since they were reserved for flight equipment, couldn't recline, and was right by the kitchen, so it was too noisy to sleep. When I called customer service to try to fix all of this, in the middle of explaining my problem (after waiting on hold for an hour) I was told to stop talking and that it was the rep's turn to talk. In addition to not getting my problem resolved, he hung up on me! Worst treatment I've ever received on an airpline, and I've flown thousands of times on dozens of airlines. Once this trip is over I am never flying Icelandic again!"

Cons: "The crew did not know the law about child safety seats. They tried to inform us we could not use it, even though it is approved for air travel. Then they tried to tell us we had to face it forward, which is illegal and it cannot be secured like this. Then they told us the car seat needed to be against the fuselage, but that all the fuselage seats were taken. They did not offer a solution to this problem. I informed them this was TAP's fault for assigning those seats to us. They said they were not responsible, which is clearly wrong. They could have reassigned us at check-in and avoided the problem. They were very concerned about the ability of the person in front of us to recline their seat, but no interested at all in the safety of our baby. They told us we would not be able to use the seat, although our baby was already asleep. They were trying to find a way to make us leave the plane. Finally, some other passengers volunteered to move so we could sit against the fuselage with nobody in the seats in front of us, so we would not block them from reclining. A solution would not have been found by the crew. Only thanks to generous passengers were we able to stay on the plane, even though we were doing everything completely legally. They made my pregnant wife feel so bad that she cried for the first hour of the flight. Then, as the flight was concluding, our baby got airsick and vomited. They crew did nothing to help aside from bring 3 (!) napkins and then leave again. Incredibly unhelpful, mean, ignorant, and combative cabin crew. Truly appalling."

Cons: "First of all, I would like to start by saying that I flight with TAP very often. I guess you can check on your system. I had good experiences in the past and actually recommeded to friends/family. I hope this flight was an exception. A few things were not that good this time. 1) First of all, the online check-in wasn't working until a few hours before the flight, and I didn't even give me the option to choose my seat. Once in the plane, I noticed plenty of empty seats in several areas of the plane. I could have had a much better seat. Also, the fact that the price of the luggage in the ticket is not included is insane! They let you know right at the boarding area. Another 100 plus dollars in addition to the 1,6000 that I paid for the ticket. Incredible!! And they only gave us 15 dollars voucher!! 2) There was a 2 hours delay due to a storm in the south of the USA. Although I am fully understandable with the fact that this situation is out of hands for the TAP company, is it in their hands the care and wellbeing of their passengers. As previoulsy stated, I received a 15 dollars voucher to use becasue of the delay. At any airport, for any decent meal, you will pay a minimum of 25-30 dollars. All items are more expensive. While waiting in the gate to board, we were not offered with snacks, water, etc.. additionally, no announements or updates at all. 3) I had a very uncofortable situation with one of the filght attenders. Male, very tall, dark hair and dark skin. When distributing dinner, I found the way he approached me very disrespectul, ironic and dismissive. ZERO customer services and he is actually the face of TAP in these planes. Unaceptable. I have to look all the way up to him, he wouldn't make an effort to band a bit (of course, not completely) to at least try to hear what I was saying. He was requesting me to speak loud but he would not make a minimum effort to get close to me. His demeanor and attitude made me feel very upsted... abuse of power... to the pooint that I ended up not taking the meal. No manners at all. He should understand that after hours of waiting (check-in usual time plus the 2 hours delay) we were all very tired. Particularly at that timeof the day. Some of us where up for since earlyi in the moring and you could tell that most of the passengers were exhausted. The second we got into our seat, we all used our blankets and try to sleep. He was not empathetic or councious about that. I felt very uncomfortable. Both of the girls that were also in the back area of the plane, were also lacking manners and customer services. I don't know.. other times was much better."

Pros: "First off I'd never heard of this airline but that was ok because we (group travel) were originally booked on another aiine I'd never heard if before either called Nirwegian. Well less than 24 hrs before we were scheduled to fly out, the exact same day, they cancel our flight! After a lot of phone calls and wait times we were booked onto TAP AIR PORTUGAL. Easy check in, my carry on was great, entertainment was on point, food was good (first European trip), crew was nice, plane was huge; just a good experience overall. I will definitely fly with them again."

The gate keeps changing and they've been getting ther run around all day. No food vouchers. This is horrendous. I am here at Prague airport. We only have a few days here and now one day is gone. They should be reimbursed! We are paying 400 euros for hotel rooms that aren't even being used because of this delay."

As I arrived in front of the airplane door, the crew said the remaining luggages couldn’t be boarded with us because there wasn’t anymore space in the lockers. 3. The crew was very unprofessional. So, in the end, after paying more for first rows tickets and after being one of the first people in line to be boarded, because of poor organizarion I ended as one of the last to be boarded and without the right to bring with me the personal luggage. A nightmare"

He assigned a seat to my boyfriend and informed me that I wont have a seat due to overbooking. We explained to him that we absolutely mus be on the plane due to the importance of an evening we had ahead. He seemed to enjoy the difficulty of our situation & had zero compassion & showed no attempt to help or to see what he can possibly do. The grim on his face suggested "screw you, guys!" And sarcastically added "good luck to you"! Seriously!? I was furious & so upset & also nervous because not making it to the point of our destination would be extremely unfortunate. My boyfriend suggested to assign a seat to me & to check in two luggages under my name & he would figure out an alternative scenario for his way to get to our destination in case they wouldn't find a seat for him at the gate. At the gate we met with two other associates who seemed to have zero training in what their job is. They had no understanding, no outside of the box thinking, no creativity & no any hint of compassion! Striking! Only because a guy from Iberia airlines came to help these two incompetent associates we started to feel that someone with the brain & knowledge is finally involved. Finally, we were given a second seat "miracoulasly" somehow it was available.. hmmm... and guess what!? Not just one! As we got on a plane I saw at least 4 seats (in my vicinity) unoccupied! The bottom line Lafth (the check in guy) knew it! But his miserable attitude had caused us all unnecessary stress, my nerves & caused his company this review. My suggestion- choose other airline!"
