Flights from Paris: the best tips from KAYAK users' own experiences

Insights shared by verified travellers who flew from Paris to anywhere

CDG is fairly efficient but it takes time to get through passport control and then security. If flying internationally and we were mid week, arrive up to 2.5hrs before flight to have time to make it through and grab a coffee before boarding. Oh and if out of T2C, hit the Pharmacy before crossing over, there isn’t one after security.
Juan GFlew with Air France-Jun 2026
Due to the excess of hand luggage, the airlines are offering to take it at no cost. What provides a lot of comfort.
RobertFlew with French Bee-Jun 2026
Extra time for the airport, have your devices fully charged.
Verified travelerFlew with Condor-Aug 2026
Eat before you get to the airport there are virtually no dining options.
Verified travelerFlew with Icelandair-Apr 2026
Order your food ahead of time is a good rule of thumb. Give yourself time, a minimum of 2.5 hours is good. Make sure your international phone capabilities are tested, my carrier said they were on, but they were not complete, but I did get them completed once I was in Paris. HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE!
ÁsmundurFlew with Icelandair-Apr 2026
The CDG airport is a bit complicated so I reckomend the informatin boards be studied ti find the shops and where yu can by food, books etc. Also to arrive well ahead of time to have time to get aquinted with ypur surroundings. The building is circular so it take a while to get used to.
KevinFlew with Norse Atlantic Airways-May 2025
Terminal 3 at CDG is very bare bones, with no network lounges and few charging ports.
Verified travelerFlew with Air France-Jan 2025
Eat a light meal at the airport as you will get a full meal late in the evening after taking off. Or eat a substantial meal at the airport and skip the plane meal. Either way the food at the airport you'll have to buy, but the quality of the food on the plane is no better than the airport food. I had lounge access so ate a full dinner before taking off. The lounge food is much better than the plane or regular airport food.
Leedje AnellFlew with Air France-Dec 2024
Please get air tags, some kind of tracking device just incase your baggage doesn’t make it on the plane. Also keep one of those stickers that come on the checked luggage tag. That sticker has your suitcase number and it helps if you have that information if it’s lost.
Verified travelerFlew with United Airlines-Dec 2024
Bring your own food AND drink on the plane with you.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Sept 2024
The BA team was ready when we arrived at the airport for early morning check-in, which made the transition through customs very easy. Just remember to allow enough time to go through customs and to separate all fluids before hand.
Verified travelerFlew with Air France-Oct 2024
We arrived early , check in process and navigation through airport was very easy and fast , later it got much busier.
RadoslavFlew with Bulgaria Air-Sept 2024
Be at the airport 2 hours or more before the flight time.
Verified travelerFlew with United Airlines-Jun 2024
Pack efficiently, arrive early to the airport and check in ahead of time.
Verified travelerFlew with WestJet-Jul 2024
I heard from other passengers that WestJet does not load passengers using the jet way at Charles de Gaulle airport. There loading involves a flight of stairs from the terminal to a bunch of buses. All passengers are driven 10-15 mins to the aircraft and then, one by one, each bus unloads and passengers climb a ladder into the plane. A horrible experience for anyone with mobility issues or for parents with little kids / strollers. I have also flown Air France to / from CDG and the flights were loaded / unloaded on jetways.
Verified travelerFlew with Air France-Jul 2024
Don’t use Paris for transiting from another airport. It is not transit friendly. Use Munich of Frankfurt instead.
Verified travelerFlew with Transavia France-Mar 2024
Try to have only carry on luggage if using Orly airport.

It was a really good experience. Food, snacks, and beverages were good. Flight entertainment was also a good one.

Everything was wonderful, with the exception of boarding a bus to go to our gate. Seems odd, that on both the arrival and departure from Paris we had to drag our bags down stairs, get on a bus to do the next step.

My recent Air France flight from Paris to Toronto was a genuinely pleasant long‑haul experience, marked by strong service and thoughtful touches throughout the journey. The boarding process was orderly and efficient, with only a short wait before passengers were invited to step onboard. Everything moved with calm coordination, setting a positive tone right from the start. Once in the air, the inflight crew truly shined. They were warm, friendly, and consistently attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Their professionalism and upbeat energy made the cabin feel welcoming and well cared for. The meals and overall service were very good—well‑timed, nicely presented, and satisfying. Air France’s reputation for quality inflight dining held up, and the crew ensured that drinks, snacks, and small requests were handled promptly. I traveled in a business‑class pod, which offered excellent privacy and comfort. The seat itself was spacious and well‑designed, ideal for both resting and working. The only minor drawback was that the pod felt a bit warm when fully closed, but it wasn’t enough to detract from the overall comfort. Overall, this Air France flight delivered a smooth, friendly, and enjoyable experience from gate to landing. The combination of efficient boarding, exceptional crew service, quality meals, and a comfortable seat made the long journey feel easy and well supported.

The boarding was efficieng. Staff in flight smiling, polite, attentive, patient. Very professional.

Middle seats SUCK!!!! I paid more money than I should have because of your terrible site Kayak.com. I'll try to use your competitors going forward. I am so disappointed you would play off business class.com as business class seats

They lost my bag and I still haven’t received it yet

Safe and stable made me sleepy and I slept and dreamt 😂😂😂😂

I don’t like that an equipment change caused my seat to change from 23A to 44A. The boarding was also delayed. The crew were excellent, however and very attentive. The food was not bad.

Our flight crew were terrific. And they handle a difficult passenger with finesse.

I bought business class tickets but the seats are exactly like economy with no comfort seats nor an empty seat next to me provided. Very poor, low quality airline.

Have to offer water. Leg room and space is non existent

The seat was surprisingly comfortable and the crew was great.

The boarding was terrible. Confusing, long and with multiple checks.

One of our suitcases was missing at arrival. No news from the lost and found desk so far. As for 3 or 4 other passengers, they said it probably was missent at Orly airport. Hope it arrives. Not sure whether a compensation will occur if not found.

Stuck on the hot overcrowded bus on the tarmac without ac

Transit through Cairo was abysmal and I will never repeat this journey !!!

There was delay of 2 hours and all related announcements at the gate were done in French. It is not acceptable on international flight! The sandwich that I paid €6 for, was dry, hard and impossible to eat it. This is really a shame for French airline serving such sandwich.

Cancelled while we were waiting at the airport and the flight ready for boarding because of only one Stewart missing! Unacceptable! We were proposed another flight: 5 days later! Unacceptable! We had to pay other tickets of course very expensive the same day!

too hot and too tight, no even small cup of water.

I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with any type of airline, they destroyed my baby’s baby stroller, that cost more than 2000$,the seats in a 13 hour flight was broken,so I definitely not recommend that airline for other people

I recently flew with Saudi Arabian Airlines, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff were exceptionally polite, professional, and attentive throughout the journey. Check-in was smooth and well-organized, and boarding was efficient and on time. The cabin was spotless and comfortable, with plenty of legroom and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The in-flight service was top-notch — meals were delicious and offered with generous portions, and the crew made sure every passenger was well taken care of. I also appreciated the wide range of entertainment options, including movies, music, and TV shows in multiple languages. The flight was punctual, and the overall experience reflected the airline’s strong commitment to hospitality and passenger satisfaction. Without a doubt, I’d highly recommend Saudia to anyone traveling within the region or internationally. Their service quality easily matches — and often surpasses — many top global airlines. I’m looking forward to flying with them again! ⸻ Would you like me to tailor it for a specific flight route or class (e.g., Economy, Business, Jeddah–Washington DC)? I can make it sound even more personal or detailed.

They lost the stroller and car seat which they found after 4 days, and on the way back they damaged the stroller.

Same situation saudi lost my pram and car seat and damaged lagguage

Ok, the flight was not full yet I had people on both sided and the chairs were tight. Only 2 kinds of snacks didn’t even have milk for the coffee.

Food was bad, boarding experience especially at Jeddah was extremely chaotic. Flights were very uncomfortable with Meals at odd times

This booking was as a result of stolen identity and hacking my debit account. I reported it to my bank. The thief tried to book two flights, maybe more. Hopefully, Kayak will be able to block fraudulent bookings and charges better in the future.

Flight was delayed, but there was no explanation why. Seats were comfortable and service was good. Food was good and there were more snacks than I expected.

my screen did not work properly. I couldn't watch any movies nor the flight information. I can see the flight info on the remote only. the toilet is very small and tight actually it is the smallest toilet I've ever seen in a business class. ( I'm not a big body person) in Jeda airport the first bus broke down so we transferred to a second bus and it took a long time to move. the seat spacing was good in 2 by 2 configuration. the food and the service was OK for a short flight.

The check in process was a disaster. There no clear lines and there were people everywhere, pushing and cutting in line. There was no communication about flight delay and our flight arrived 5 hours late. Causing us to run to our next flight. Our luggage did not make the flight

It would have been better if I was not ill so I didn't go and I didn't come back and I could not transfer my tickets to a later date as Ryanair stop flying from Manchester at the end of October till next year

Delayed delayed delayed and then cancelled very late not allowing for too much time to find a room for the night

expedite passengers through passport control when the airport authorities are processing inefficiently.

You can only check in maximum 2 hours before your flight. But it’s not written anywhere on your ticket or your boarding pass or in any of your emails. The only sign is at the beginning of a huge snake queue on the barrier which is easily blocked by people. So you queue for half an hour only to be turned back. Plus on the flight we paid for priority which included two carry on bags in addition to our backpacks plus I had a letter from Ryanair for my CPAP machine to be allowed as free carry on as well. As it happened, we only had one carry on and the CPAP and two backpacks and the agent insisted I shove my CPAP under my seat which I refused as it wouldn’t fit without jamming it. They had oversold priority (or didn’t check bags) and there was an enormous fuss about overhead storage. Poorly managed and the inflight ordering service didn’t work. It was awful. I will never fly them again. And before you say it was cheap, it was most certainly not. So Ryanair can kiss my business goodbye.

Well... Our flight departed with more than 3 hours delay from Beauvais.

The worst low cost airline in the world! It’s absolutely the poorest costumer service and my worst experience!

It was a short flight (1.2h), and everything went smoothly.

Loupé l'avion pas pu embarquer mon bagage en soute. Pas compris l'heure de fermeture.

I hate Ryanair and have decided never to fly with them again, they treat you like animals on the way to slaughter and they never take responsibility for their errors and lousy service.

Toulouse Alicante, excellent. But the 2 next fligth by Air Europa canceled. Bad bad

Queuing for quite a while despite using the "speedy boarding".

Nice to fly out of Orly smaller easier to navigate airport. Being able to receive boarding pass well in advance of trip was comforting to know all travel was in order.

Boarding was smooth and quick. Flight departed on time. Equally evacuation upon landing was from both the front door and the back doors. Bags were on the conveyor belts before I got there. Excellent service.

I got caught using a stolen credit card number. Michelle Siziba is my name Nice to London Gatwick on 7/31/25.

This was our first time using them. I gave okay ratings for food and entertainment because it was minimal or not provided so I couldn't judge, but much better than most budget carriers we have ever used.

There were a lot (4 I think) of EasyJet flights leaving Agadir, we arrived two and a half ours before our flight. Very slow to get through the booking in, passport control and security!! We had booked in on line but had to Queue with others who had not to drop our bags off!,

I was charged at the gate for bags I had already paid for. There was no other option. I am trying diligently thought easyJet website but making no progress HELP!

Worst airline in the world, will never travel in it again.

I am writing to share how your teams can better serve your youngest customers. On 9 January, 2024, I boarded and then de-boarded a flight with my 6 month old daughter. I have four children and travel extensively. Delays happen, but the stress my daughter had to ensure was avoidable with simple and straightforward actions. (1) communicate delays to customers -- Breastfeeding mothers are constantly timing feedings. If delays were communicated, I could have camly fed her instead of attentively waiting for priority boarding. There were no announcements and no updates to the monitor; (2) honor the priority boarding process -- While a staff member waved us in for priority boarding, half the plane boarded while the "priority check-in" representative was preoccupied; (3) anticipate challenges creating unnecessary stress to infants -- after completely ignoring the priority boarding procedure, and knowing that the plane had not even arrived, the team could have offered to board us last. My daughter could have been calm in the waiting area while breastfeeding. Instead my 6 month old was completely unnecessarily stressed in the middle of the jet bridge, packed in solid.

The communication about the delay could have been better before and during the flight. Also, this online form could have less bugs. It is almost impossible to type in this window.
