Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Better reading material"
Pros: "The crew was friendly. Baggage arrive safely. But the repeated commercial interruptions trying to sell things made me wonder if it was commission based - a nap was not possible from the announcements but you could buy things duty free. I am glad it was a short flight. A new plane."
Cons: "There are no queues. A free for all to load and unload the plane. If you are looking for Swiss order, look elsewhere. Nothing is free, not water (1.5 euro) or any other beverages or anything else. We paid double what the flight should cost to not even be offered water. The seats were lightly padded to maximize seats. There was a small amount of leg room but some. No power outlets, wifi or media. The worst aspect is I bought a flight on Baltic Air from Tallinn to Riga and had the price from Riga to Paris on the next tab on kayak. I bought the ticket from Tallin to Riga then flipped to buy Riga to Paris only to learn it was a bait price. The price was actually $200 more. Baltic would not refund the first flight (within minutes) so we were stuck to either walk away from our 2 tickets to Riga or pay the bait and switch rate. We begrudgingly paid 400 (200 each) euro MORE than the initial price shown so we could fly out of Riga back to Paris (to be back in Paris by Jan 7). A non alcoholic beverage, a small snack, and power access would be helpful. Ground crew helping with order would be helpful. I was shoved and run over trying to get onto and off the plane. It is the wild west of flying except the plane is new...oh, and it is 30 euro if you do not check in online ahead. But you will still need to stand in line to check a bag (where they can issue you a boarding pass)."
Pros: "Nice stuff."
Cons: "Probably teleportation?"
Pros: "The crew, plane and airport was great!"
Cons: "Part of our luggage was disassembled and not delivered to the final destination."
Pros: "We made it safely to our destination."
Cons: "There was no WiFi. Comfier seats or at least a pillow and blanket."
Pros: "Arrival in time"
Cons: "Compartment for hand luggage was full, no space"
Cons: "Flying with the same company from Vilnius, only on Riga they decided to weight the cabin bags. I understand the police, the limit weight, but they should apply it from the first flight, not just half way"
Pros: "Very nice plane and we left on time and the flight was very smooth."
Pros: "everything was good enough"
Cons: "I would like a meal and drinks on the board"
Pros: "flight crew was amazing."
Cons: "Boarding was poorly handled by airport staff"
Pros: "They just wanted more money. Charged us one small carry-on bag over 60 Euro! Ridiculous. Horrible airline, will never fly with airBaltic."
Cons: "They should have told us that one person can only bring one bag. we just flew with Ryanair and Easyjet, which allow one carryne and one bag. Again, will never fly with such horrible airBaltic, never!!!"
Pros: "Small compliment from Air France was lovely and unexpected"
Cons: "Horrible customer support"
Pros: "Helpful crew"
Pros: "It was a fairly ordinary flight"
Cons: "Our luggage never arrived at our destination, perhaps something to do with a connecting flight although there were 2 hrs 15 mins between connections. After informing Male Airport, a message was sent to Condor. No news all day. Next day lodged complaint replied they're investigating. Holiday ruined"
Cons: "Short flight and unmemorable (that's a good thing)"
Pros: "Instructions for connected flights at airpotr were clear"
Cons: "Connection time 10 minutes instead of planned 30"
Pros: "My checked in bag did not arrive to HEL... Nedless to say I did check the bag tag was properly labeled RIX to HEL... oh well ... bad score for Baltic Air ... truly hope to see my bag in CGK when I arrived. Qatar airways pls come to the rescue."
Pros: "Short, convenient, direct, value for money."
Cons: "Not comfortable, small plane."
Pros: "the flight started at time. the attendant were fine. but i consider this flight not as a cheap flight. therefore, it should be possible, so early in the morning to offer a coffee at least."
Cons: "the experience on board should be improved, particularly when the flight is not different from regular airlines in terms of cost"
Pros: "most of the crew were polite and helpful"
Cons: "super small plane... had to climb a very narrow staircase into the plane... overhead bins couldn't accommodate much of anything... we weren't warned this in advance. one rude steward (Miks) July 21 Flt. BT444, 18:30-19:50... he just stood there watching me struggle up the outside staircase into the plane with my suitcase... scolded me for bringing suitcase on board, argued with me, etc. (I've traveled the world and this suitcase is always brought on board)... he was not service-oriented or helpful. thankfully, other staff did help... but he left a bad taste in my mouth for this airline."
Pros: "Short flight"
Cons: "They charged me 35 dollars to check in and the reason I did not check in was because their other flight was running late and was not sure I will make to that flight. It took forever to get bags in Riga. In the empty flight the way they were seating people was crazy. I'm lifetime gold with American Airlines so I do fair share flying and can tell you it's not a good Airline."
Pros: "Newer plane."
Cons: "The plane we were supposed to be on from Riga to Helisinki had mechanical problems so they switched our plane. We had an hour delay do to that. Then when we got to Helsinki our luggage never made it."
Cons: "The passage through Riga airport was terrifying. We arrived from St. Petersburg 6.35 and we left 7.20 to Paris (passengers in transit). We explained at the checkpoint that we had a few minutes, but they controlled us several times until we had to throw several liquid items. In St. Petersburg they had already controlled us, without problems. In short: a sad experience in Riga, which does not speak well of this country: Latvia."
Pros: "Good service, good connection in Riga! Perfectly on time!"
Pros: "They waited for transit passengers Were helpful"
Pros: "Nice crew"
Cons: "Please give out water for free"
Pros: "Did not have food, so not able to rate that. Comfortable for sure! Plane ain't that big and one side had only 2 seats next to each other."
Pros: "We went to Tallin by taxi 5 hour Air Baltic gave for voucher We are group of 8 frends"
Cons: "See above."
Cons: "They overbooked the flight and without any apologies on their behalf or without even informing me, they stop me and my fiance at the gate and just told is that we can not go to the flight I book and prepay 4 month at advance! The only solution that they can offer me was to travel from Riga to Moscow and than to Tel Aviv. It become 12 hours traveling across 4 countries ( we arrived form Stockholm) instead of 5 hours flight as it was supposed to! I'm not recommending to travel with that company it can not be trusted!"
Pros: "Everything was in time. Baggage I handked in the Riga airport and received it in Larnaca, no problems"
Cons: "bag measure frames in Riga airport used for aB are smaller than in most airports, as a results we were asked to check some bags in at the last moment. we have had connecting flight through Riga with two hand bags. lets call them big and small. judge by yourself: flight, aircraft, small, big ->Riga CS3, on board, on board Riga-> DHC 8-400, on board, check in ->Riga DHC 8-400, on board, on board Riga-> CS3, check in, check in as you see, the same bags on the same aircraft were allowed or disallowed by the same company based on weather one flies to Riga or from it. i believe there is absolutely no purpose for doing last second interruptions of such kind"
Pros: "We arrived safely. Bilingual staff."
Cons: "The seats are worn and creek with every movement. There is very limited leg room even for someone who is short. When the person in front of you leans back it is impossible to reach your hand baggage or do anything but lay back in your seat. The landing was safe but not at all comfortable."
Pros: "The helpful ground person at check-in."
Cons: "This airline company looks a like person who is begging for money. First time in my life I paid for the luggage. 40 Euros!!! what for? Apparently Air Baltic has no clue about how to run a service business. Somebody has to teach them this naked reality: IN SERVICE BUSINESS YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE YOUR MAJOR MARKETING ASSETS! They don't even serve a glass of water, apparently they could not manage to integrate it in the ticket price. But they dare to get thirsty and unhappy customers on the plane. Anyways: This airline company is charging extra for luggage. And I could not see this anywhere when I was buying ticket online. If I knew I'd never buy the ticket from Airbaltic. "Not writing it clearly and visible at the time of ticket purchase" is certainly tricking and misleading us. This is a crime!"
Cons: "The flight was cancelled, so I did not make to the my connection flight with different carrier. I had to reschedule the flight and stay in the hotel overnight. AirBaltic refused to compensate for my looses due to thair fault, castomer service is very poor, they took refusal position right away. Air Baltic planes are very old and no air conditioning, avoid air Baltic."
Pros: "Enough said"
Pros: "Boarding went well and crew was nice."
Cons: "The air conditioning was not working properly on the 3 hour flight which made it a bit sweaty and unfortable. The purchase of a cold beer was a must."
Pros: "Great airline with good airplanes and friendly staff. I was able to board the plane using my iPhone (e-ticket) from Copenhagen to Riga to Moscow."
Pros: "Brand new aircraft Wider seats as normal Good selection of food"
Cons: "We got disembarked from the aircraft for technical reasons, then they towed the same aircraft to the next gate and off we were. Delay almost two hours."
Pros: "Quick bag drop and security line at Riga airport. Quick boarding with all the larger suitcases forcibly checked in at no charge. On time departure. Seats are comfortable enough for a short flight."
Cons: "(This is more of a comment on Kayak's review page than on the flight.) Haven't tried the food and there was no entertainment."
Cons: "Check in staff at Riga airport were rude. Check in Maine issued the same boarding pass twice, so one of us had no boarding pass. Security line was insanely long--30+ minutes! On board you pay for everything, even a glass of water. Tiny seats and the person behind me kept pushing on the back of my seat. Very uncomfortable! Will never fly airbaltic again."
Pros: "It's very inexpensive, especially if you fly with only with a carry-on luggage. On-board service has always been excellent."
Cons: "The check-in process is horrible, regardless of the airport you are flying from. It's just the trademark of Air Baltic. I learned my lesson and pay extra to use the priority check in line, as well as boarding. Otherwise you end up staying in a VERY long line. This time I was bumped from the seat that I picked when booking my flight, which was still assigned to me when I checked in online. No explanation or heads-up, I was just handed a paper boarding pass when I checked my bag, and only after I was past security line I realized that I was bumped from row 4 to row 10. I was able to get a seat in row 4 again at the gate, but not the same seat. Also, there was no priority boarding, even though I paid for it. Given this experience I will only fly this airline if I can get away with a carry on, thus avoiding the check in desk altogether."
Cons: "For people who have Airbaltic as a connecting flight this might be very inconvenient. We paid 40 Eur/person each way for our luggage . That brings the price that you pay so much higher than you expect at first. Also if you don't print boarding pass ahead of time which we didn't (plus still needed to drop off checked luggage and check our passports) they want to charge you 30 Eur a person to print that drinking piece of paper. If you don't want to pay that get out of the line with all of you luggage, go to kiosk and print it, then come back to the line. But that's companies rules , employees just have to follow it. Another problem was their attitude. The guy who got our luggage was so weird. Showing off and talking to us like a boss. After giving us boarding passes he said we can go to the screen and look up the gate ourselves. I never write long reviews but man! they got me mad that day. Never say never - but I don't want to fly with this airline again"
Pros: "Fine, left on time, short flight."
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Booked on kayak and wasn't clear at all about check in or tickets, I looked many times. No way of checking in or getting boarding passes had to pay an arm and a leg at the gate. Also had to pay to check my bag on a half full flight. Have never had to check same bag with Ryanair on over 10 flights now. Will never use this airline again."
Cons: "I tried to check in on my phone and the app did not allow me. The only way was buying lunch in order to move on with the check in process. I decided to get to the counter and the person charged me US$ 35 euros only for checking me in (even though their app had problems to check in). They charged me in total US$ 100 for checking in and checking my luggage. The service was terrible, especially from the person at the counter. In addition to all that, my luggage did not arrive to the final destination and was lost for an entire week. Every time I called the airline, they were charging me per minute even though they were the ones who lost my suitcase."
Pros: "The flights were on time, and the Riga airport was efficient."
Cons: "The planes seemed very old and rickety. One was an old propeller plane that looked like it had a large patch. The second plane was so old that It was very difficult to open the overhead storage compartments. Both planes rocked side to side during takeoff and landing. I couldn't figure out how to check baggage online through Kayak, and it cost €40 at the airport. It got me where I needs to go, but with the baggage fees, it turned out to be about the same price as other airlines, and I wouldn't recommend the planes for people with any flying anxiety."
Pros: "brand new plane, simple check in, good food, nice entertainment, comfy seats"
Cons: "Truly, I can't think of anything"
Cons: "The video screens in the cabin - especially when in default menu mode and not actually in use - are bright... really bright. I was unable to sleep because someone didn’t turn theirs off before falling asleep. Then - after landing, they simply can’t be turned off as the loop a Dreamliner promo of footage shot in the bright sky. The screen brightness is NOT adjustable during the promo and sunglasses were needed since I had no option but to have it shine in my face."
Pros: "Really pleased they fly to Austin,Texas direct from London. They give a very cost effective alternative to BA. We upgraded to Premium for a reasonable fee. We liked the masses of leg room but on a night flight it is impossible for the middle/window passenger to escape as all seats are back with footrests extended. The cabin crew were very good. The plane was new and very clean. Roast beef salad for breakfast was tasty if unusual."
Cons: "Low cost premium is rare, and some cost cutting is understandable. That said....Premium seats weren’t that comfortable. I’m not too tall (6 feet) but they didn’t support my back well. There was no music entertainment so ensure you bring your own. There is plenty of power. The film selection is the same in both directions and pretty limited. Not a problem if you are sleeping though. Note: When upgraded you don’t seem to get all your prepaid extras refunded and we couldn’t choose our seats in Premium. There is no business lounge in Austin. (There was in Gatwick). The Norwegian app never linked to my reservation automatically. Some synchronisation work required there. Unlike other premium flights the drinks service was pretty limited. I didn’t enjoy eating out of a cardboard box, but the food was tasty."
Pros: "aircraft was new and the crew was just as frustrated as the passengers."
Cons: "The process was non-existent. Simply terrible and not thought through at all. First there is no on-line check in. So, you arrive without a seat assignment or boarding pass. Stress. Then you go to the small handful of kiosks and find that only a couple are working. So you wait in line. Then you get your boarding pass and walk to the security checkpoint as you do with every...other...airline..ever. You wait on line and watch countless people being turned away from the security person. You wonder why out loud and surmise with the passengers around you - but we’ve all flow. Hundreds of times before, and we all have our boarding passes and no checked bags. So, you think youre ok. Stress. Then when it’s your turn, you get rejected because you have to have a “stamp”. What stamp? I scanned my passport at the kiosk and I have a “known passenger” number. what stamp? Go back to the counter and wait on a loooong slow line. They want to weigh our bags. Why? They are all small carry-ons. We’ve all done this a thousand times. Nope - Norwegein weighs your TOTAL carry on and it all has to be less than 10kg. 10 kilograms! So, one by one, EVERY passenger is instantly angry and gets hit with a $65 fee per bag and all carry ons get checked. Stress and now we will be late upon our arrival as we didn’t anticipate checked luggage. After having your luggage weighed and deemed too heavy, you have to go wait on the “payment line” to pay your $65 fee. This is a joy - everyone is pissed. The staff is smirking and repeating, “don’t stress” over and over. After you pay your fee, you have to get BACK ON LINE to show the bag guy that you paid and then he put your bag on the conveyer. only, your bag is in a pile of all the other bag behind the counter. So he holds up each bag and says, “this one?” Farking nuts. Then you go and get BACK ON LINE to go through security. Then the gate....that’s a whole other debacle. 250 people crowded around the gate person. Literally hell. LOOK AT THE OTHER AIRLINES AROUND YOU. COPY THEM. Oh, no food or drinks on the plane unless you know the secret handshake. We realized this when the food cart and drink cart each passed us by. Mind you, this was t just our group. Every passenger around us has the same stress filled confused experience and we all spoke about it. Never, ever again. Pay the extra $100 and fly a proper airline."
Cons: "I had to pay for seating"
Pros: "We took what was to be a 9 hour flight from Denver to London and the service was great. My fiancée has allergies to food and the staff took good care of her and made sure that she was getting meals that had no triggers in them. For me the seats are always a bit too tight for people with real shoulders. It’s okay though I’m used to that. But then landing 40 minuets early was great. It allowed us to go through the border and still be on our way as quickly as if we were home in the states."
Pros: "I believe the only thing I did like about the trip was the easement of getting checked to board the plane. Other than that, maybe just the price of my flight."
Cons: "Where to begin, first of all the flight was delayed. And not just one or two hours, but almost 5 hours! The communication from the boarding crew was atrocious, as they did not keep us informed until maybe an hour after the fact that it was already delayed. After finally being cleared to board we were all cramped and rushed on a shuttle from the waiting area to the plane. I've been on cramped planes before, but maybe not this badly. I received a middle seat, which was alright, but the amount of space to move around in was unacceptable. I attempted to load my carry on in the storage compartment overhead but it was all taken up. That made matters worse in terms of having space to stretch my feet out, as the person's next to me were not the kindest and kept cramping me even more. The delaying of my flight made me miss my check in to my hotel two hours later. I lost most of my day I'm being able to have free time before the check in due to it. Overall, I was not satisfied one bit with the airline service. I just hope that my return flight is a more pleasant one."
Pros: "Staff was pleasantly helpful and friendly."
Cons: "Window seat was uncomfortable, and plane was hot,as if the a/c was turned off."
Pros: "Crew was polite. Entertainment system was acceptable."
Cons: "While Purchasing our tickets, it was not made clear that our bags and meals need to be paid for separately. Once we got on the plane, there was an option to bye food however most of the food was unavailable on our flight. The only thing we could purchase on a 7 hr flight was chips and corn nuts."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable"
Cons: "Staff were not friendly. I specifically heard one attendant who had swapped out a meal for a passenger say out loud "she didn't like her vegan meal so she wanted another one" in front of the passenger. I found that rude and accusing. I know I did not pay for food and I expected that. However, I think that's a bit austere for a 10 hour flight. Not even water offered for non-paying passengers. I don't know how you expect people to be healthy and ok on such a long flight without water.. Will not be flying Norwegian again."
Pros: "Quick flight. Fast boarding Good choice of entertainment"
Cons: "The plane was freezing With three people sitting together, it is definitely cramped. Staff aren’t as friendly."
Pros: "The flight was fast"
Cons: "Horrible people doing the check-in for the flight Very stricted with weight so they can charge you horribly high prices for their benefit Very arrogant Delayed flights Not offered even water if you hadn’t booked meals Very expensive snack bar prices and can only pay by card Worst airline ever with the most abusive and arrogant staff"
Pros: "The film selection was good."
Cons: "Delays with very little information. Cramped plane. Unprofessional staff. No free refreshments. Bad website and faulty app. A budget airline to be avoided."
Cons: "Wheelchair was not boardedit first and was not brought to the gate on landing. We were not assigned seats near front until I complained North hot food available on flight Seats cramped"
Pros: "Great leg room considering it's a short flight."
Cons: "Rude staff."
Cons: "Economy seat, no earphones, terrible food. This was a business class ticket."
Pros: "entertainment ok"
Cons: "did not know that they charge extra for everything. 7 hr flight and they don't even give you a glass of water without charging you extra."
Pros: "I got a refund. Nothing other than that."
Cons: "Previous flight was delayed and Norwegian changed the flight so HiFly was operating. Didn’t have any way of checking in so even though I was at the check in desk almost an hour early I wasn’t allowed in and they stated I missed my flight. They weren’t able to get me on the evening flight either. I was stuck at the airport. Throughout this there was absolutely no compassion from any of the workers. I was visibly very upset and the supervisor was standing right in front of me joking around with a coworker, ignoring me. I had to go up to her. I am seriously concerned about my flight back from London via Norwegian, and should probably just cancel and use a different airline to be honest."
Cons: "Food, seat, entertainment"
Cons: "First time with this airline, so didn't know what to expect. All food, including water, must be purchased. No big deal if prepared for it, but different compared to other airlines that customarily provide non-alcoholic drinks or at least cups of water on long-haul flights."
Cons: "A multi-million dollar company that does not offer you a glass of water on a 7-hr flight, unless you buy a meal. Classy."
Pros: "The planes were nice, the crew were friendly."
Cons: "The plane on inbound flight to London was overbooked by 51 seats. The crew did not see that I paid for a premium seat and after 3 hours of waiting at the checking counter I was the last person receive a seat on the plane and was downgraded to coach. My luggage was never put on the plane - although the crew promised they would assure my suitcase made it on. On the way back (LON - FTT) the airline did not have any headphones and did not have any snacks for purchase - obviously very poor planning for a cross-Atlantic flight. If they were unable to properly stock the plane prior to departure, they should have notified people waiting at the gate, so that the passengers would have the opportunity to purchase those items at the airport prior to departure."
Pros: "The plane itself was quite nice."
Cons: "After a 5 hour delay, we finally started boarding. We were loaded in buses and taken to the plane. When we got there they told us there were technical issues. They left the heat in the bus running at 27 C for about 10 Minutes. People were banging on the doors asking to open them. Finally they turned off the heat. It was not fun."
Pros: "Nice crew and good clean plane."
Pros: "All in all a great flight both there and back. I'd recommend this airline without hesitation. I didn't have a single issue with them. Great plane with all the new gadgets etc, love that the windows could be dimmed for sleep/watching movies. Lots of leg room, bonus for me was that both flights I had nobody next to me so I was also able to lie down! Shopping system worked great, every time I ordered I received my food/drink within minutes. Boarding was carried out in number order and worked well as they give themselves loads of time. There was no backlog of passengers waiting for that one person (there is always one!) to arrange their overhead space perfectly!! Would definitely fly with them again."
Pros: "Even though we were in the economy section we had a wonderful experience. Two good meals were served and there were plenty of options on the in flight entertainment system. All the flight attendants were very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend Norwegian."
Pros: "Overall good service with timely information."
Cons: "50 minutes delay. The message from Kayak update stated terminal B and I needed to go all the way to Terminal A with luggage. A bit of exercise!"
Pros: "Quick flight on which I was able to sleep most of the way and wake up at 6am in uk. Good entertainment offering that I didn't use. No food but worked well with my sleeping."
Cons: "Lack if food might not suit all and should be made mire obvious. I nearly missed it but once aware covered it very successfully."
Pros: "The price point, relatively efficient, good baggage of you shop around for the right fare ie, kayak etc. Comfortable seat and similar leg room to BA/Virgin economy for a much lower price."
Cons: "The food quality wasn't great on the supplied meals, the best option is to buy at the airport and take onboard. Delayed flight almost guaranteed. No IFE on our flight home apart from a few TV shows. No movies. Crew are hit or miss with the quality. Some are good, some are not so good or welcoming. Gate staff/set up wasn't great and not much information about the delayed departure given out."
Pros: "The cabin crew were personable and professional. The seats were comfortable and there was a good amount of leg room."
Cons: "In-flight entertainment was not working. Within 40 minutes of take off, hot snacks were no longer available. Poor distribution of seats - many people (not travelling together) were seated 3 in a row yet several people had 3 seats to themselves. Captain did not address the one hour delay with an apology or an explanation."
Pros: "Very pleasant folk on-board. Comfortable new plane"
Cons: "Staff didn't manage boarding well with the result that people were standing for long periods waiting needlessly in a queue. The entertainment system broke down which on a 7 hour flight is not a trivial loss. The flight was one hour delayed in departing, although it did make up some of that time over the Atlantic."
Cons: "The fact that my husband and I were one of the first people to check in, four hours ahead of boarding, yet we were not even asked or told that we were being allotted seats in the row closest to the toilet- had we been told that at the time of checking in by the customer rep, we would have had the chance to request for a seat change as both of us were unable to sleep at all."
Cons: "i was accosted by an extremely rude flight attendant. after having no water offered for hours i walked into the galley in the back to get some. nobody was there and some cups were sitting next to a half empty water bottle. so, like many other airlines, i assumed i could help myself. no sooner than i had picked up the water bottle to pour some water a male flight attendant walked up behind me and said, "excuse me sir, what are you doing?" i replied, "getting some water." he said "what do you think you're doing? you can't just get water you have to ask" and took the bottle away from me." i said "well it would be nice if you served water during the flight, I'm really thirsty." he replied, "everyone is sleeping." i said "not everyone, and nobody offered any water the whole flight, so i thought i'd help myself since nobody was back here." he said, "well i was serving another customer". to which i replied "alright", as i thought "obviously not everyone is sleeping", walked away feeling terrible, and not feeling at all like a respected customer. i have never experienced such awful customer service on any flight, especially not on an international one. this is the first and last time I ever fly norwegian. shame on him! and the plane was disgusting by the way... can't wait to post this on facebook #nevernorwegianair"
Cons: "I was charged $65 for a carry on that they wouldn't allow me to carry and made me check the bag ..."
Cons: "6 hour delay and the worst customer service"
Cons: "You, it was you."
Pros: "Everything was just simply perfect. From leaving on time and arriving an hour earlier to London. Food was delicious and taking off n landing just speculation. Amazing airline, will def fly with them Again."
Cons: "No food or drink"
Pros: "The dreamliner jet was awesone"
Cons: "Apparently they had no idea what they were doing with food. You were supposed to pre order food at time of booking and pay extra if you want a meal. I didn't even realize this was legal on a 10 hour international flight. Thank God our food was apparently booked since we booked through kayak. The flight attendants were walking around with a piece of paper with the seats that had preordered food handwritten on them. It took forever to get our food. We didn't get it until about 3 hours after take off (which was 10:30pm at the origin). It was completely disorganized and made no sense. Based on this alone, I have no plans on flying Norweigan again except for my return flight back home."
Pros: "Nice, new airplane, modern bathroom, movie selection pretty good, was expecting a low budget look, but it was all high-tech and attractive."
Cons: "the usual complaint \i have with all the airplanes, not enough legroom, and no, \i will not pay extra on principle. I also had a problem with the TSA agent, but \i guess that is not your problem. Had to wait a long time for "opt-out.""
Pros: "Plane, crew and all other aspects on boarders very good."
Cons: "Norwegian boasts of having great legroom, entertainment and food options but after a 3 hour delay for an 11pm flight, the plane that was used was an old 777 from another random European budget airline. I'm only 5'6" and my knees where touching the seat in front of me. When the person in front of me reclined I was literally trapped and had to climb onto my seat and over the armrest. There was no working entertainment system and the food was some terrible fare that didn't meet any very low standard for an international flight. The crew was clearly understaffed but they were pleasant enough. also the plane was not clean. Before wed even taken off you could smell sewage from the bathroom. Overall it was unpleasant and not all worth the "budget" price of $800."
Pros: "Someone in the boarding area called this airline "cheap and cheerful" but that doesn't convey the fact that it's the 787 Boeing plane with roomy seats. And the flight attendants--of which there are many--are cheerful!"
Cons: "There wasn't a great deal of choice of food to buy on our flight because it was under 2 hours. also on our flight heading out of the UK i did find that the staff were paying more attention to the needs of the people sitting on the other side of the plane. I thought they were rather rude."
Pros: "The ease of boarding and the friendly crew"
Cons: "I have a Gluten allergy and I decided when I got to the airport that I would upgrade to Platinum. When the started to serve the meals, I politely informed the flight attendant that I had a Gluten allergy and would like to purchase a salad instead. She stated that I needed to reserve my Gluten Free option 72 hours in advance and that a salad was not available. So I ate my snack of a nuts for an 8.5 hour flight. This is a HUGE disservice to those who have allergies! Because of this...I will no longer fly with Norwegian!"
Pros: "The 787 dreamliner is a great aircraft, but being stuck with a middle seat still stinks."
Pros: "Fantastic new airplane; the 787 Dreamliner is quite a nice plane. However. it has it's glitches; we were stuck in the plane while an engineer had to come out to "reset" some instrumentation. We lost an hour, after we pushed off from the gate."
Cons: "Kayak let us down; it was completely unclear that we had a "bundled" package which included luggage, the ability to reserve a seat and food. We would have preferred to take additional savings over all of that. We only needed to bring two small bags, for two passengers, which would have easily fit in the overhead compartments. a £200+ savings would have been far better, in addition I wasted a considerable amount of time attempting to reach the airline in an effort to confirm exactly what was included in our purchase. Extremely poor communication from Kayak; not happy!"
Pros: "i wasn't sitting next to anyone"
Cons: "the one toilet in use had a leaky faucet which meant by the end of the flight there was no running water to wash hands with. gross! the other toilet was used as storage."
Pros: "The windows you could make them light or dark"
Cons: "We had a 10 hour flight we were so cramped we could barely move, the crew were miserable and failed to interact with many passengers. While I was in America I ran out of money and tried to contact the air line which they responded to my message but then took my details and to this day I'm still waiting for a reply for the earlier flight home ( considering I'm home now but I wasn't impressed with that. Overall I wouldn't fly with this airline again. Awful experience"
Cons: "Delayed. Confusion over gates."
Cons: "Very bad service. Everything is bad"
Pros: "Staff is really fine."
Cons: "There was no food and drinks at the flight. Not even the water. Also I dont understand the point of priorirty biarding as 90% of passengers were on that row."
Pros: "The ground crew was very helpful before boarding."
Cons: "Delayed announcement could be done a little earlier before boarding time, not after it was past the boarding time."
Pros: "Price and efficiency"
Cons: "Well it is a low cost airline, you get what you pay for"
Pros: "Seat not too cramped. We didn't get lost - as BA flight did recently!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed! Info re delay was limited."
Cons: "Late takeoff - late arrival"
Cons: "have to pay 55 euro’s for checkin .... crew very rude at the desk"
Pros: "I liked that I didn't feel squashed and this is about it."
Cons: "I disliked the fact that our flight was delayed and we weren't notified about it. I disliked that we got told there was a problem with the engine but they didn't allow us to either get off the plane or change plans we just sat there as they ran test after test. Asking us to sit down for them to see if the engine is working okay. They asked a member of the public who was sat by the wing to keep an ear out for any funny noises. We stayed on the runway for an hour and a half after it was already delayed. Once we set off in fear that the engine might fail again Ryanair didn't even off us a free glass of water to show appreciation for peoples tolerance. It honestly isn't worth the money you save."
Pros: "This flight issues were so plentiful they provided me with knowledge on how not to run an airline."
Cons: "5 X delays, Incompetent pilot, No organisation of ground crew 2.5hr late"
Cons: "Bag policy is not clear. We had two guitars so we paid for two bags then i found out there is musical instruments charge which is 50 euro per instrument. It’s a discrimination against musicians. Huge sporting goods fee is cheaper than that. Also there is no phone number to call. I asked about refund at ryan air check in desk and nobody knows what we should do. Ryanair makes it so easy for customers to pay add on fees but they won’t refund you when you pay by mistake. Total non sense."
Pros: "Boarding was ahead of schedule, but we waited on the runway for a long time. Checking in via an app is great too."
Cons: "The seats are uncomfortable, the application of the baggage policy is inflexible & difficult, there are no places to put your things and having seating assigned randomly when you travel with someone is ridiculous. I love discount airlines, but being charged for things that would make me happier while not costing the airline a penny is too far. Ryanair gets your initial business with artificially low rates and then nickle-and-dimes you until you pay at least as much as you would by just going with an honest carrier that charges normal prices up front. I am tired of being messed about when there are equivalently priced carriers that aren't such shysters."
Pros: "Loved the speed and efficiency of everything; we arrived from Dublin to Gatwick 25 minutes early. Plenty of opportunity for inflight purchases for such a small flight which was great!"
Pros: "Boarded from gate beside the executive lounge."
Cons: "Ground staff made final boarding call too soon. Had to rush from the lounge only to find no passengers had left the terminal steps to walk to the plane to board."
Cons: "No flight announcement at Dublin airport so missed flight"
Pros: "the flight and the flight crew were quite good and professional."
Cons: "The way we were gathered up like sheep at the departure lounge. There was one person who acted like a mini hitler, scolding people if they dared to cross the line. An unpleasant experience."
Cons: "Very long walk on landing"
Pros: "Staff is young and energetic! Beat crew on trip so fat and we've been on three other planes."
Cons: "Seats are eat too close if you are, tall. The landing was a,3,out of 10."
Pros: "That it took off and landed. That's all."
Cons: "Being made to queue for almost an hour, with staff seeing and allowing people to push in front because they had a child (over 5y.o) with no regard for people who queued. Staff then came from the back to the front of the queue telling people they had to put their carry-on luggage in the hold. When questioned why, the response was "you either do it or we won't let you fly. You don't like it? What do you want? It's Ryanair, deal with it." Very disappointing, flown many times with Ryanair but never been treated like that. Also disgusted with the new policy of having to pay to sit next to your partner of the same booking. Disgusting."
Cons: "Customer service"
Pros: "Everything. Staff was wonderful."
Pros: "One crew member was genuinely nice!"
Cons: "Ryanair have found yet another way to squeeze some money out of you - book two or more tickets together and rather than sitting together, they'll ensure you are randomly allocated seats away from each other! Of course for some extra money, you can "enjoy" sitting together. Pathetic."
Cons: "Flight was very late.(over 2 hours) Notices not posted timeously No meal tokens offered, or anything else to soften the irritation Boarding and offloading by stairs into the rain - cheapest possible options."
Cons: "Sitting 10 rows from my wife"
Pros: "Cabin crew is pleasant and professional."
Cons: "Two days in a row the gate operations seemed disorganized. My flight from London to Dublin was over an hour late, and then my return flight from Dublin to London was also an hour late today."
Pros: "Easy to check in online right time boarding and arrival ahead of time. No problems. I wonder why some people call queueing and check-in at airport "normal". If they enjoy it - it is fai to charge them extra."
Pros: "Wish the back of the seats in front of me had the pocket to hold things."
Cons: "Tap water offer would be appreciated. Too bad the checked bag price is so high that everyone brings what they can onboard which fills up all the overhead storage. Tickets that are bought together should be seated together if possible and not just randomly assigned."
Pros: "737 800 plane much more comfortableScramble at boarding."
Cons: "Load in numerical order by ordering passengers to line up in that order"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Hard seats"
Pros: "Was cheap"
Cons: "Was very late"
Cons: "The customer service agent was horribly rude. When asked her name, because she wasn't wearing a name tag, she said "Oh, you'd like my name? I'll be sure to write it down for you." I never ended up getting her name, but the way she treated me and my fiancé - as two customers that were very much over paying - was inappropriate and unprofessional. Never again will I fly RyanAir."
Pros: "Crew were polite."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 1 1/2 hours. There was no announcement that there was a delay or explanation.. The Priority boarding is very poorly organised . when we were finally let out onto the tarmac there was a mad scramble by the non priority customers to get to the plane although the one lady in charge did control things to a degree I might add that at Gatwick going to Belfast the Priority boarding was a joke. If you are going to make customers queue in the corridor please put a sign up outside to indicate the you dont't have to queue"
Cons: "We have never flown Ryan Air before and are not from Europe. We booked or flight one day prior to the flight and were shocked to show up at the airport and pay 90 euro to check in at the airport. This is simply a price gouge. I understand a small, nominal fee for this but not 90 euro! That is asinine. I will purposely avoid Ryan Air in the future as this leaves a bad taste in my mouth."
Cons: "I was told next time I have to be careful with my carry-on because I'd have to pay £50 otherwise. However, my carry-on is TSA approved, it has a lot of pockets so it may appear to be a bit bigger but I don't overstuff and I've had no issue getting my bag into the overhead bin. Granted, the officer was kind when she said it, but I also measured my bag and weighed it before my flight and I shouldn't feel there should be an issue with my bag. On my return flight I had souvenirs in my bag (meaning more in my SAME bag) and no one said a word about my carry-on."
Pros: "The price"
Cons: "It was uncomfortable It was late"
Pros: "The price was fantastic! the best around :)"
Cons: "There was no notification from cabin crew to advise us to ensure we collect our luggage BEFORE we go through the glass doors at Gatwick. We were expecting to show our passport and collect our luggage from the carrousel but didn't realise until after we went through the glass doors and had to wait over 40 mins for it to be brought to us. What was so astonishing- we were told we weren't the only ones this happened to. It would be very useful if cabin crew made the passengers aware of this to avoid it happening time after time with others/flights"
Pros: "The crew were very friendly."
Cons: "My wife & I had our flight departure delayed by an hour due to overcrowding of planes & our arrival was delayed by 30 minutes for the same reason. Also, the seats were cramped & they didn't recline."
Pros: "Timings, the plane was fine for the short journey we had."
Cons: "The boarding process and difficulty in hearing the crew member as he had a very strong Eastern European accent"
Cons: "Boarding/delay etc was shambles did not get on flight had to get flight next day at my expense at cost of over £240"
Pros: "Price - boarding was good, especially considering plane was full."
Cons: "Punctuality - about 40 mins late both ways - I kinda factor that in now!!"
Pros: "The price was right. ...at least until I figured out that my checked bag cost twice as much as my airfares ticket!"
Cons: "I think maybe I should have flown on Aer Lingus instead. Next time I will do more research. Absolutely nothing is free on Ryan. The only free thing is your carry on bag. Food, drinks, prearranged seat assignment, etc. all cost money."
Pros: "Staff was nice and flight was efficient."
Cons: "A lot of hidden fees were frustrating and flight was cramped and felt like a sales pitch."
Pros: "The flight was relatively on time and fairly smooth."
Cons: "I don't like the fact that you have to pay extra for EVERYTHING! For a boarding pass, for any luggage (other than a small carry-on), for a seat assignment and for a cup of tea on the plane, The flight is relatively inexpensive, but you end up paying a lot of money for the"
Pros: "Ryan Air is the worst airline. They rip off unassuming people by exorbitant charges at the airport."
Cons: "The customer service is nonexistent and the companies policies ar designed to take advantage of customers."
Pros: ", bought a coffee & the male attendant told me how to use it . New filter lid"
Cons: "waiting to take off . Flight boarded early then we sat on plane . 12.50 flight & arrived just before 15.00."
Pros: "Cheap, quick, and safe flight."
Cons: "Because the tickets are so cheap, they try to get money out of you at every turn! They charged us $20 each to print our boarding passes at the airport (it wasn't enough to have them on our phones)! They make you pay to check a bag and you have to arrange it ahead of time (cannot ask to do it at the airport). They made a big fuss about the sizes of our bags and threatened to charge up to $55 per bag if they needed to check them at the gate! They have tiny compartments at the gate but our bags fit without any issues on the plane itself."
