Cons: "The thumping 'music' as we boarded, the over-jolly announcements which treated the passengers as if they were all mentally deficient or poorly educated. The information they conveyed was clear and comprehensive and obviously, safety instructions are crucial, but the format and tone of delivery were so patronising I thought they were a parody. They also assumed everybody was coming back to the UK after their holiday - the flight had a good proportion of French passengers and some of us don't live in the UK. Make the announcements more neutral. I fly with a lot of no-frills lines, especially Ryanair and EasyJet as well as the larger carriers such as Air France, BA, SAS and Air Canada, but I have never come across such grating and irritating announcements. I will think twice before booking another flight with them rather than endure this again."

I wouldn't have been so offended if my partner wasn't so ill, and the attendant hadn't been so accusatory. We were marched back down the aisle, and made to feel like criminals. You pay for what you get. Flight down to London with BA was lovely in comparison - lovely staff, complementary drink and snacks, and overall a pleasant flight."

I was abroad and didn't have access to a printer seven days before I was notified of this action. Additional charge of 150 Euros for checking 4 bags. The cost of the one way ticket for the two of us was 80 Euros yet the extra fees were 240 Euros. Give me a break! The seats are uncomfortable and then they broke my golf driver in my bag. I haven't even tried to claim that with this airline because they don't care about their customers. Never again and I would suggest to anyone to stay away from Ryan Air. Least transparent company I have ever used."

Baggage charges were also a surprise: you have to pay to check your bag separately for the out and return journeys -- to the the tune of $51-66 each way. $6 to pick a seat (a necessity since I had my children along). My $53 city hop wound up costing me about $183. Times that by 5, as I had my family along. That and the entire flight, the crew tried to sell me stuff. Never flying Ryanair again."

I went to get the right one and was charged 22 pounds. So now I'm 30 pounds out for a boarding pass. And yes I checked in before my flight. So upon checking my bank statement they charged me 2 times for the 7 pound wrong pass and 2 times for the 22 pound pass. Now I'm 22 pound for the ticket and 56 pounds to print out the passes. Also the staff was rude and unhelpful even though we were the only ones around they were to inconvenienced to help!"

Pros: "Staff were good - even the cabin crew member who was still training was friendly and professional. Landing was incredibly smooth. The pilot also dealt very well with the turbulence and was able to predict it so the seatbelt sign already came on before any trouble."
Cons: "Even by budget airline standards, Ryanair is mediocre at best. The chairs are uncomfortable for a 4 1/2 hour flight - manageable, maybe, for a shorter journey but not anywhere good enough for that length of time. Boarding took an unusually long time and even priority passengers were stood around waiting to get onboard a good 15 minutes or so after already having gotten into the jetway. Not to mention after landing, we were stood over an hour waiting for baggage because, for some reason, four different flights used the same carousel (and presumably only had one team getting baggage off all four planes) despite there being a second one free which I'm sure they could have easily used. Don't have four planes landing near concurrently if you don't have the facilities to deal with it. Ryanair is cheap, yes, but by the time you have to pay ridiculous amounts for things most other airlines consider normal (for starters, you can't even take a full size hand luggage bag on board without priority boarding), it adds up to being less "budget" than it would have been to fly with a higher end airline like British Airways and you'd have to be an idiot to choose Ryanair over a cheaper, higher quality, airline. Honestly, I have no idea how people choose Ryanair more than once in their lifetime."
