Top tips for finding cheap flights to Myanmar

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Myanmar flight deals.
  • If you’re a British citizen then you’ll need a visa to enter Myanmar, which you can get from your nearest Myanmar embassy. You will also need to ensure that your passport is valid for a minimum of six months from the date you enter the country.
  • Currently, there are no airlines that use Yangon Mingaladon Airport (RGN) in Myanmar as a hub for flights from the UK. However, airlines such as Qatar Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, and Cathay Pacific offer connecting flights with stopovers from the UK to Yangon. These airlines provide convenient options for travellers flying from the UK.
  • If you plan to visit Myanmar to go to the Thingyan Water Festival, which takes place over several days in April, then you should be aware that flights normally cost more in the build-up to the event. If this isn’t the purpose of your travel then it's recommended that you book around these dates.
  • For business travellers or those wanting to explore more than just one city in Myanmar, Yangon International Airport (RGN) is the best airport to fly into. Besides being the busiest airport with extensive flight options, Yangon has good transportation connectivity to other major cities like Mandalay and Bagan.
  • For those that plan to hire a car when they arrive at Yangon Airport (RGN), you need to be aware of the current road rules. For example, your driving licence will not be valid on its own. Nor will an international driver’s licence. You will need to apply for one in Yangon when you arrive. It’s best to confirm how to do this with the car hire agency that you plan to use.
  • Flying Qatar Airways from the UK to Myanmar offers several benefits. Their Economy Classic tickets, priced similarly to Standard Economy, provide an advantage with a checked baggage allowance of two 23 kg bags instead of one. Additionally, their network of flights allows for convenient connections, like flights from Birmingham via Doha (DOH) and Kuala Lumpur (KUL).
  • If you are flying from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) then you can save time when travelling through departures by using the Reserve and Collect service for duty free. This means that you can buy your items online before you get to the airport and then collect them upon arrival. This gives you more time to relax ahead of your flight.
  • Flights to Myanmar before Thadingyut Festival are likely to be more expensive than other times of the year as it is one of the most popular religious festivals in the country. If you don’t plan on attending this festival then you should look to book your trip during an alternative time of the year.

Excellent meal served with real utensils, cardboard served hot meals instead of plastic utensils and plastic covers. Quick service, friendly and accommodating stewards.

Cabin Crew always friendly and helpful. Seating cramped - foul smelling from toilets, high risk of disease. Guard personal property such as expensive sunglasses Coffee always awful and cold Meal trays toddler sized Not worth the extra cost to fly SQ - use a budget airline, same if not better experience

Wonderful service, planes and interior in great condition, very pleasant experience

Every thing was fine. Some ild classical Hindi movies should be add

The premium economy seats were not that great. It could have been more premium than economy seats.

Perfect experience from boarding through to leaving the flight, comfortable and personalised service from all staff, highly recommended

They were able to assist my elderly father and myself after not being able to check in to scoot. The counter service was phenomenal. They did what they could to get us on the next plane so we could catch our Connecting flight. Scoot closed early on us so we ended up missing our flight.

The stewardess was very helpful all the way. My seat had an issue with headphones and after the replaced and gave me a new pair and noticed it was the seat I got a new chair to sit and a great ride back home

Due to the delay of my first flight, my connecting flight with JetBlue was canceled by Singapore Airlines, but the JetBlue crew was very accommodating and rebooked a seat for me. The crew was very nice and had good attitude.

The overall operation needs to be improved. The in-flight services took forever and sometimes ran out of options.

Extra seat belt across the chest 10 minutes before taking off and 15 minutes before landing seemed excessively safe.

My case was missing a wheel on arrival Heathrow and the staff were unhelpful when i tried to get some compensation stating it was not sufficient damage, i only wish that they at some point have to deal with the same situation it put me in, maybe they would change their attitude but overall it was a good flight

The aircraft was really old, the staff demotivated and the overall United airline service is horrible

Lunch Food was tasteful and had variety. Seat was comfortable. However, when I was reserving my seats during booking, the seat configuration showed was 3-3-3, but when I boarded it was a 2-4-2 configuration? Also during booking, I had also bought travel insurance together with my TG booking. However there was no confirmation of my purchase from Allianz and TG. After several emails with TG contact, sales, reservation and Allianz was i able to confirm my insurance purchase. When the policy was issued, the birth dates of me and my wife were wrongly stated and I had to go through another round of emails with Allianz to get it corrected. Otherwise any claims would be void! It was indeed not a very good booking experience!

Increase the number of available films, including variety. All other aspects were great.

Check in was a disaster. 90 minutes and only 2 economy check in desks open. Had to rush to catch the flight.

I couldnt go on this flight and lost all my money over 1,000 UK Pounds as my visa to Myanmar was not accepted :(

food poor i said chiken i got pack a pow breakfast lousey .job to explain wot it was ...

After going back and forth with the airline, they never reimbursed the airline tickets. Went around asking multiple people how to get reimbursed and kept getting put back, not satisfied with their customer service.

No working jet bridge to deplane, with priority customers deplaning last. Followed by bus to terminal.

Wuhan - Dubai. Old plane: 1. Only USB charger. No power outlet to plug in.. 2. Super narrow seat layout 3. Toilet cover consistently fell down and hit my back when sitting on it.. :( 4. Entertainment system touch screen not sensitive, and need to press hard or use finger tips to hit. Crew were very nice and accommodating though.

1. I got very poor check in experience with the counter lady . This is the first airline I ever experienced that no combine check in weight allow . Even we have 4 of us but weight counter by piece . So we wasted lot of time argue and repack . This is super crazy 2. Next I left my Samsung tablet on the plane . And I started to escalate and finally spoke to southern airline lost and found in Malaysia and the amazing answer she give is : system nothing found and please try to call southern airline in china 🧐 . I have been flying many other airlines but this is my first encounterment with such irresponsible airline response and no empathy given to customer . My feeling is nobody bother whether how customer like me feel and I’m just too small for the management to take note .

No red vine, no whiskey, no vodka. No that I wanted all of them at once but still...

During flight, some passengers perform stomping leg exercises which disturb the comfort (I.e. sleep) of other passengers.

No good but was short flight. Both of our China Southern flights were on time. No surprises.

The flight was okay it was the kayak customer service that was poor, I have been trying to change my name on my flight ticket 3 days before my flight and nothing got done about it even tho I messaged so many times and phoned, all I got in return was that is was being processed and still to this day nothing has been done about it, I think it’s disgusting and un needed stress to the trip.

Quality flight from start to finish. Customer service is evidently very important to this company. The staff really exceeded expectations.

Pros: "Yes, seats were very comfortable and crew members were extremely helpful"
Cons: "Everything was excellent."
Pros: "see SH to GZ prior flight. The same."
Cons: "Same problems. Get KFC or McDonalds to cater. No one enjoys the airline's food which I suspect is prepared on a very small budget. Even a sandwich with a pre-packaged drink would elevate the foodservice."
Pros: "No..no redeeming features.."
Cons: "Coffee was the worst I've ever had. The 2+1 powdered mil and coffee stick. Truly awful. But i suppose there aren't many people on the flight who would order coffee..I would even pay extra for a coffee if they had a quality option. Food is comparable to a school canteen. I would probably pay 20rmb for this in Shanghai. Frozen butter for the half-frozen bread. They really couldn't do worse..."

The cabin was quite noisy as there were lots of children travelling for the school holidays. Found the selection of movies limited.

The best so far coz this time it was all male steward on the economy cluster. They were polite, efficient & genuinely courteous. They do not judge you when you ask for more food & peanuts.

Delayed for 45 minutes. Don't know what's the issue. Other than that, food was not to my satisfaction. However it's okay.

My first course flight (Aor-Kul) was cancelled in the morning, and they asked me to board the night flight hence I need to transit overnight for the 2nd flight (Kul-Myy) that supposed to be on the same day. The overnight stay was not provided, (I'm traveling with my spouse, a daughter (5 y.o.) and an infant (2 months old). Hence I booked Sama Sama Hotel at my own expense (fortunately using my enrich miles points). Other than this issue, all services is good.

Orange juice change to mineral water . Should keep the orange juice.

Entertainment system was too old, crew were unorganised during boarding

No recognition for one World Emerald member. Business class seat has flat bed

No recognition for one World Emerald member. I got row 1 in business class and it was pathetic. No leg space, cramped space, less recline

Legs space in the business class cabin is too small and pillow is dirty!

Flight from Shanghai to Kuala Luumpur delay byy 3.5hrs with no real explanation.

Flight was delayed for 2 hours for no reason, then we spent almost an hour after boarding because of the weather conditions. If we left on time we could avoid that 😾

Cons: "Everything was great. Very nice and friendly crew, clean plane, great food. Excellent overall"
Pros: "Because of our delay, we flew with Air Thai instead of Air China....much better airline"
Pros: "The crew was accommodating during the flight but spoke very little English and could not help with information on connecting flight."
Cons: "We missed our connecting flight due to a delay and the airline would not let us through because we could have made our second flight...."
Pros: "The food was good. It was nice that they supply wet hot towels before each meal. The seat was comfortable with the price I paid for. The rest room is nice and clean and quite spacious. The L’occitane toiletery bag was nice."
Cons: "It would be nice to supply mouthwash in the rest room. It would be nice to have a foot step at the bottom to open the trash container. The comforter is not washed and smells."
Cons: "Even for business class there is no TV screen on each seat. Just one small TV screen on the ceiling for a few rows to share. It would be much better with TV screen on each seat. I was sitting in the first row business class and the air hostess skipped me and didn’t give me a slipper. She gave me a used slipper at the end only without a packet. This is unprofessional to treat a business class passenger"
Cons: "Seats are narrow, leg room limited, and food is minimal."
Cons: "Seats are narrow, leg room poor, and food service is minimal."
Pros: "The crew was okay. The seating was great on all except for one leg."
Cons: "On one leg, it must have been an older plane, because the business class seats barely reclined."
Cons: "More TV show choices and more Hollywood movies although I understand it's a Chinese airline not American."
