If you have just landed and want to explore the neighborhood, towns such as Setubal, Ericeira, and Sesimbra are within an hour’s drive. The easiest way to travel from the airport to downtown Lisbon is by metro, but it’s probably not the most convenient if you have a lot of luggage. The airport is serviced by Metro’s red line, connecting to the blue line at São Sebastião station, the yellow line at Saldanha station, and the green line at Alameda station. There are two currency exchange offices located at the airport when you arrive in Lisbon, both operated by Unicâmbio. One of them is in the baggage claim area, and the other is in the arrivals hall. Debit and credit card payments are widely accepted at Lisbon Airport, and some taxis even accept debit and credit cards as well. You can wait until you reach the city centre for better rates at exchange offices downtown, or you can withdraw cash from one of the ATMs in the arrivals area.
