I arrived 30 minutes early for my reservation and the line was ridiculously long. It took over an hour and fifteen to just talk to someone. I elected to purchase the collision coverage online, only to get there and be told that I also needed to purchase minimum coverage for $30 per day. An additional $150 on top of what I paid online. I budgeted $275 for the rental car to get there and be told that it will be over 50% more expensive!?!? So ridiculous, especially when I am standing in a city with no other options to rent a car at that point. 30 minutes after talking with someone I was given a vehicle with substantial scratches, dents, damage, and a half a tank of gas. This was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. I would NEVER use this rental service again. I feel like I was screwed over and when you are there, have been waiting and have no other options, you just have to pay the extra money for the damaged vehicle and move on. Very terrible experience all around.Reviewed 24 Apr 2024

My flight in was delayed by 4.5 hours. On arrival at the counter, the agent said my reservation has been terminated after not picking up the car within 4 hours of expected time. A car was offered then at a much higher rate. I rebooked at a lower rate thru kayak for immediate pickup. The agent then said it may take over 45 minutes for the new kayak booking to show up in the system, and to wait. After waiting 45 minutes, the agent then said they have no cars available and would not honor either kayak booking. Not a very pleasant way to start the trip, and staff didn't seem sympathetic or interested in finding other solutions. I walked next door and picked up a car from Sixt, which was great.Reviewed 23 Apr 2024

Getting to Ace from the LAX Airport is a bit challenging as you have to take a bus that then takes you to another location where the Ace Shuttle will pick you up and take you to the rental car center. Once you get to the rental car center, this is the second time I’ve rented with this company and the lines are soooo incredibly long. Agents are virtual, so you’re talking to them on a screen. For some reason, it seemed like it took each agent 10-15+ minutes if not longer to get the renter on their way & with long lines, just imagine how long you’ll be standing there. The rental itself was nice and clean. Beware, if you have an early morning flight (as I did) you will be charged $37.00 to drop your car off at a nearby parking lot. They do offer a shuttle service which was nice, but just know Ace will charge as you cannot drop your car off after hours.Reviewed 22 Apr 2024

They are a small car company. Their shuttle service is outside the LAX airport so you have to take a shuttle to get to their shuttle. Getting your vehicle takes longer since they need more info and forms filled than the big rental companies. Overall I don’t think I’ll rent here and now know to stick to the major rental companies.Reviewed 19 Apr 2024

The worse experience ever in the last 55 years at any car rental company. They try to nickel and dime their customers by offering a good rate and then make it absurdity impossible to get the car once you're already at the counter. It's a pernicious scam. The clerk ask me to read some inconspicuous dime print and to show my return airline ticket. Secondly he wanted my complete insurance folios to show all my rates limits and deductible specifically for car rental. My proof of insurance and my Platinum AMEX was mockingly dismissed To top it off ( believe it or not) he actually asked me to bring a Utility bill. Yes! Utility Bill. !! I just don't understand why they are in business at all. Shamefully disgusting 😱Reviewed 19 Apr 2024

the price advertised is not what we end up paying, we pay 200%+ to get the car. Definitley is missleading that you get a rate and when you get there you have to pay so much more to recieve the service we booked.Reviewed 16 Apr 2024

This was easily the worst experience at a car rental place ever in my life and I am 55. Firstly they close at 10 pm which was not clear to me. Their location in LAX is very difficult to get to. I had to take an Uber to get there and paid $33 for it. Then they said that they have to see my insurance papers with all the coverage before they will accept it . This has never happened to me. Who carried their insurance papers and no one ever asks to see them. Others there were also complaining. They would have charged $45 per day for the basic insurance. More than my rental. As I was thinking the person across the counter and one other person in the office began to pressure me by surrounding me and repeatedly ask me to make the choice because it is closing time. I asked them if they could give me 5 min to think and they kept loudly asking me. 2 people were constantly telling me to immediately make a decision. When i reluctantly agreed then they told me the car I had booked was not available and they can only give me a jeep or a dodge sports car. I did not want those because the gas the consumption would be very high. I then asked if I could call my friend to see if they can pick me up at 10'pm, they once again started the same pressure tactics. And this time a really big guy came over and he was nearly shouting. At this point I decided not to rent and leave. So at 10:20 pm, I walked out. As I walked out this person said something that sounded like an obscenity. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO RENT A CAR EVER. I then went over to thrifty and got a car rental in 20 min. Amazingly different experience. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACEReviewed 12 Apr 2024

Awful. Tonne's of hidden fees. Was quoted as a $35 day rate, when I went to pick up they added a "mandatory" $45 insurance fee supposedly required by law, even though I had insurance through credit card. Declined to pick up and went to Avis. Magically - they didn't have said mandatory fee.Reviewed 10 Apr 2024

The worst. 1. Rental car closed at 9:30pm not at 10:00 as they said. I couldn’t pick up the car and ended up paying an $80 Uber to my destination 🫠 2. After I spoke with a representative they said they’d hold my reservation until the next day until 10 am. 3. When I arrived to pickup the car my reservation was cancelled and they were charging for extra money. Yes it’s a cheap rental car but the way that they work with time and customer services is the worst. We not dependent on our own time in an airplane and they have to understand that.Reviewed 10 Apr 2024
