It was very convenient to see the attractions Having to pay for parking.
Its location.The bathroom was excellent.
It was in a very convenient location and friendly staff The hotel does not have a car park
Nothing I thought it was hugely ovepriced. I might just about have been satisfied at half the price. Our room was ok but was in the basement and looked out on a poorly maintained wall. The heating had not been turned on even though the outside temperature was below zero and it was snowing. We had to queue for breakfast on both mornings.
A bit run down for the price - very tired decor. Expected that for a 3 star, but paid a lot for what it was. Decor - dreadful!
The hote isl situated in an excellent spot. Nestled between the river and the Baths and within walking distance of the beautiful shops. The manager Wayne is wonderful and so helpful, as are all his staff. We will be back again.
The central location No parking so therefore I had to move my car from a car park @ 08:00hrs. Also rooms very small and very warm.
central locality. Comfortable rooms
The location was perfect for my stay in Bath, and the room and standard in general of the hotel again was good. The only meal i had was not that good(pork loin).I was unable to book breakfast because i had made my reservation on line and assumed that it was inclusive.I was then told it depended when i booked on line as to the cost of ordering a breakfast.I gave up and went to a very pleasent cafe.
Nothing I would not stay there ever again The hotel room was dirty the towels were all stained and the waiter in the breakfast room was extremely rude. I complained to receptionist about his attitude
The location of the hotel I did not like the fact that at a particular time in the evening and in the morning there was a loud ding kind of noise.
The customer service was superb. Front desk and concierge so friendly and nice. Location is perfect for exploring Bath. We had our infant son with us and they were very accomodating. All was great- no complaints
The staff. All were polite, efficient, very well trained and took the time to make you feel welcome - despite being busy. They took a pride in their job. The sound proofing in the basic rooms was not very good, so if you wanted to sleep on a bit in the morning it would have been very difficult. We were there to make the best of a couple of days in Bath, so it suited us.
Modern decor Thin walls and doors.
Clean and roomy. Nothing!
Well located to get around the city center and clean and comfortable . Staff we had contact with very pleasant Cost of parking
Convenient location for Bath amenities. We were going to Theatre Royal, and the Hilton is just a 5 - 10 minute walk away We were attracted by the Parking under the hotel - and this was easy to find. We were not told it would cost us £17 however !
The location in the city centre couldn't have been better. Nice views of the river from the restaurant. Helpful staff.
Absolutely abysmal It took 35 mins to check in because your company fax the reservations through on Saturday morning to an unused office that nobody on the check in desk knew anything about
Reception staff and parking facilities I was extremely dissapointed by the qaulity of my room, the cleanliness and general condition of the facilities. The hotel is out dates and far beneath what I would expect from the Hilton brand. I stay in hotels all over the world and this simply does not measure up on any level.
location initial confusion about reservation
The city of bath is fantastic Nothing
Hotel is in great location for site seeing and getting around Bath.Hotel room was very nice. Concierge and desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Buffet selection was impressive especially with the additional made to order options. The breakfast staff was so wonderful that they even served me when I mixed up the times and arrived late. They were very professional and friendly. The walls were thin and I could hear everyone passing by in the hallway, but earplugs solved that issue.
Needs updating. Its in a prime location but needs to improve to make people come back. We wont return
Good location. Clean and everything worked Not always staff at reception and had to call out for them. Did not have our booking when we arrived and staff had to sort it out which took some time.
pleasant and helpful staff cleanliness location creaking floorboards early morning plumbing noises
Central Location and easy to access. Slow and poor dinner service in the evening and regrettably staff that did not listen to actual service requests. English language difficulty perhaps and if so training is needed.
Central location Not enough parking space
We enjoyed our stay with you. The staff were wonderful, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was fabulous, so much to choose from. We will definately return. Just a few things. The room was a little cold, not enough chanels on the television (mostly childrens channels), it was quite noisy at night, but we live in the country so just not used it...the decor was a little dull in the room and the shower (as it so very often is in hotels) was not very powerful at all. These are not complaints, just our views.
The standard of service staff were very helpful . Location is brilliant a very short walk takes you into Bath and most importantly a comfortable bed. All was fine.
the proximity to local places of interest. The room was spacious with old fashioned tasteful furniture and a flat screen television. I didn't like the poor state of the decor in the public areas and the room.I also did not like coming back to my room to find the door unlocked and wide open
Good location for visiting bath on foot. Warm welcoming hotel. Comfortable bed. No menu available in room, no mention of breakfast cost, consequently we did not eat in the hotel.
The convenience of being in the centre of Bath Rather challenging parking
The service was excellent, making for a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Not applicable
The friendly and helpful staff, the quietness and the beautiful surroundings both interior and garden. The only disappointment was that whilst a private function was being held in the restraunt area we had to go through from the spa in our robes. When my husband sister and her husband went to the bar for a drink we had to sit tighly packed into a corner. We did not feel like guests, but more that we were in the way!
The hotel itself is full of such beauty and is so breath taking from the outside, the staff were good and wwe had a wonderful meal there. I would have liked tea/coffee in the room rather than having to ask room service and the hotel room was a little shabby.
The location of the hotel was spot on. It was close enough to everything we required without being smack bang in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The staff were amongst the most pleasant and helpful I have come across in some time. The Spa was disappointing and the reception staff were not particularly helpful. Albeit the treatments were amazing and the therapists very thoughtful and understanding.
Pleasant situation and very helpful polite staff. Convenient for sightseeing and a relaxed atmosphere. The food was good and well presented. No flannels available in the bathroom.
Extremely comfortable in rooms and lounge. Spa was very relaxing . Service was excellent. Hotel was beautiful. Breakfast very good. Could be more relaxation chairs in the spa, although there is not much room.
small room to much furniture old t.v which did not work
The room was spacious with a lounge area that opened out to the garden. The spa was lovely, it is a great hotel for relaxing as it is very quiet but right in the centre of Bath which means you can walk everywhere. The food service was very slow and the bathroom could have done with being updated.
My room was very small, i don'tthink i had the nicest room in my price category.
the location and facilities were superb ! No !
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I loved everything about Chestnuts House - especially Tony, the owner. The room was lovely, the breakfasts were scrumptious and the location was perfect. It was a relaxing, charming place to stay. There was nothing that I wasn't happy with at Chestnuts House.
Friendly, polite and informative staff, who were there to meet us. The room was superb - we could not have asked for anything more. The breakfast was, quite simply, the best I have ever eaten. Highly recommended. NOthing bad to say about our stay.
Staff friendly and always willing to help over and above the paid for package and great location. n/a
Owner very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent multi choice breakfast menu with both hot and cold options. Impeccable service. Excellent standard of accommodation, furnishing and cleanliness. Absolutely none at all !!
The high standard of the accommodation and friendliness of the proprietor, and its location.
It was a very warm and welcoming guest house, the orner could not of been more helpful with our requests ie we loved the pillows so have some on order, also put himself out to make sure we had all information we needed 4 a lovely stay n/A
As a solo female traveller, it is important to feel safe at comfortable. Chestnuts was fantastic. The staff were all helpful and extremely friendly.Happy to go back.
The breakfast provided was excellent - good choice, quality and service nothing
Warm welcome, helpful staff, off-road parking, clean environment, wireless broadband in rooms, sky-tv in communal lounge, silent ceiling fan, varied tasty breakfast choices.
Just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops None
location, lovely building, view from our window
The location is very convenient for visiting the historic sites of Bath, and the parking is very easy Our room was on the top floor. As there is no lift the climb up the stairs could be challenging to anyone with mobility problems
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and keen to make you feel welcome. Felt like home from home. Liked being able to see in to the kitchen at breakfast, log fire, excellent breakfast, beautiful room, central location.
Staf very friendly, great location for city centre and room quiet and comfortable.
The staff were very efficient and pleasant both when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning - we enjoyed our stay although very short!
Close to city centre Rooms were very small for price. The smallest rooms I've ever stayed in and not worth the price of the room. Parking was an issue.
top class, all the staff were so helpful and friendly, great breakfast
It was comfortable, well equipped and friendly. Also nice and quiet. It has lots of stairs which may not suit everyone, but I liked the exercise and the fabulous view from the top.
We stayed in the Princess Suite and it was beautifully decorated, as was the rest of the hotel. The staff were fantastic, helpful, polite and sincere. The parking permit made things a lot easier and was value at £8 a day.To top it off, the bathroom had heated flooring! A brilliant hotel located in the centre of Bath - shops & eateries are 30seconds away.
we found the staff very welcoming and helpfull . we have no complaints about this hotel whatsoever and look forward to stopping there again .
the friendly atmosphere
Central location was brilliant. (Breakfast was very good too) Not really a bad point, just a conmment. Would be more convenient not to have to vacate room by 10 am on day of departure, particularly on a Sunday.
Two members of staff friendly and pleasant room pleasantly decorated ideally situated for the places we wished to visit One member of staff questioned need for more milk "our housekeeper keeps a strict eye on things like this" !!! even though the blurb in the room invited guests to request more milk if required - shame as this did marr thigns a little. Very dusty in places it was not clear from the booking process whether the room was paid in advance or not (it wasn't)
A lovely quirky hotel with bags of character and friendly welcoming staff.
Convenient to the centre of town, friendly staff, good breakfast. They had double booked one of our rooms - that was resolved but it was a bit of stressful start. On the second day, the cleaner left one of our rooms part cleaned with the main door and fire escape door from the room open so it was completely unsecured. I lost faith in the place somewhat as a consequence.
Fantastic location and wifi working nicely in the room. Better have a small suitcase as the old building as this has narrow stairs, but this is an advantage to pack reasonably :)
friendly atmosphere and staff great location
Excellent location. The staff were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and other tourist information. Overall a wonderful weekend I couldn't have asked for better.
First was the friendly staff ,the ease of check in. After being shown to our rooms to were invited down for a complimentry drink ,we have travelled the world over never ever have we had a free drink!!!!the attention to detail in the inn ! top qualitybed linen &towels, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in .the location to the important sites was excellent, but mostly it was the staff who deserve a big pat on the back they were fabulous.we were with friends from norway and they were very impressed,we can't wait to return. Thankyou None
the proprietor was very welcoming and the location good. It would have been a lot easier if the website address mentioned that crescent gardens are actually on old bristol road as I had great problems finding the guest house. by choice I would not share a large table at breakfast.
Food ok Had to pay for 2 nights we could only stay 1 night as I had bad tooth ache absess under tooth was on antibiotics from dentist so had to go home early but still made to pay full amount!!
Warm and comfortable... little pricey...
Excellent breakfast in dining room at large family table. Service was very good and staff was friendly and helpful. As it was quite warm while we were there, we had to keep the windows open at night and the main street is quite noisy, especially on weekend nights.
Warm welcome very friendly and helpful owner, excellent breakfast, convenient for the town centre and places of interest Room rather small
nice hotel, comfy, slept well.the manageress went out of her way to help out and the breakfast was excellent. Everything was ok.
staying at the crescent was an experience that I will have again, as i intend to use the crescent again in the near future, the house was spotless, rita was welcoming and the food was second to none would recommend it to anyone. nothing!!
Friendly staff; clean room; nice breakfast. very cramped; shower did not work properly.
The owner was very helpful and could give dining recommendations and events to see when asked. The environment was very friendly and welcoming.
Warm welcome, everywhere very clean and very comfortable bed. The local car park is convenient but very expensive. The guest house have permits but you need to collect this before parking the car.
It was close to town centre (only took 5/10 mins to walk) the hotel was easy to find and also was very nice to look at from outside.
Clean room, great breakfast, convenient for Bath center, good parking. Night porter woke us up at 4.30am getting linen from the cupboard outside our room.
Location was excellent, easy parking on site, I would use the Hotel again, evening late bar also good. Breakfast & room very nice. Room size was very small, I understand we booked a small double but you could not walk around the bed. We would use the Hotel again but book a larger room.
Room was clean, comfortable with good facilities, excellent breakfast, staff helpful.
Easy to Park and close to the town centre
The situation, the staff and the room I was disappointed that there was no dinner available at the Hotel. I did not spot that this was the case when I booked.
Convenience, leave car & walk No lift
We were travelling around UK by car during September and stayed in total in 26 different hotels. This one was the worst. The room was extremely small, the bathroom was awfully tiny. The receptionists were quite unfriendly. And a funny thing was that they did not let us leave the car for a couple of hours at the parking while we wanted to walk a bit around the city. The worst place we´ve seen!!!!
Good location, good staff, clean and car parking We thought it was a 5 star when we booked. Whist it was quite good the room was relatvely small and the bathroom ditto
closeness to city room was a little smaller than expected
Staff Little over priced
Great room, great staff, great breakfast in a very good location. Stayed in four different hotels on this trip and the Brooks was far and away the best.
A great guesthouse, looked exactly how it did on the website, safe parking in the public car park behind and ideal for walking into town. We were greeted by friendly staff and the room was very comfortable and stylish.
Comfortable, clean surroundings. Delicious breakfasts, very helpful staff. Not exactly a 'dislike' however bathroom windows could have done with a roller/roman blind - just to give a more 'finished' and less cold, look.
Only about 3-4 minute walk to the centre of Bath, nice and central the sink was not in the bathroom it was next to the bed and the room that we were in sloped inwards to were only able to use one side of the bed. The bathroom fan in the room next door was loud at night as well (midnight)
close to city centre we booked a double room, but the double bed was two single beds put together.
Prolific hot water, baths/showers at any time. Comfortable, clean room. Quiet room at rear of hotel. Proximity to town centre and car park very good. Lovely choice of breakfast items. Friendly, welcoming proprietress. Would have preferred breakfast to be included in the price.
Sally was always happy and helpful. I left my purse on the train from Bath and the station in Cardiff called the B&B to let me know they had it. Sally was very helpful with the problem and helped a lot.
a very friendly guest house Michael was very helpful and had lots of advice about the area
Friendly clean comfortable helpful Parking expensive
