We had trouble locating the receipt and we were not given an explanation as to why we needed it again. We were traveling with 5 kids including an infant and we were not allowed to board until we found the receipt. I thought surely they would have record that I had paid, but I guess not. We were the last to board and all very stressed out. The staff seemed not to care the least in our troubles."

Finally, we were instructed to leave the line after almost an hour and a half and were then informed that our tickets had been sold to someone else (we were bumped!). Aer Lingus tried to "normalize" this by explaining that they always "overbook" by 10%. How irresponsible! Instead of arriving in Paris at 4:30 PM (a direct flight) we had to take a flight to London and then to Paris and arrived at 11 PM exhausted (the bus service to Paris had closed down and we had to take a taxi). We will never fly Aer Lingus again. Aer Lingus created the long line to create this very situation!"

My entertainment system for watching movies had major problems throughout the flight. The movie froze and I was forced to reset 6 different times throughout the flight. This is unacceptable. 2. The gentleman's chair in front of me was broken - once it was in the reclined position it would not go back into the upright position so I had very limited space especially when eating. The flight attendants kept trying to move it back into the upright position but it never really was fixed. 3. The plug in for ear phones is very outdated and has a two prong plug in. The ear phones provided in flight do work but the sound is very low quality and fuzzy. It would be nice to have the option to plug in my own headphones, however because normal headphones are a one prong plug in, they do not work. 4. Your arm rests do not fold up all the way. Why? This is a major flaw in the seat design and makes it impossible to stretch out if there is an empty seat next to you. 5. Passengers have to pay out of pocket for alcoholic beverages on international flights. This was disappointing as I usually fly Delta and they are included with all international flights."

I went to get the right one and was charged 22 pounds. So now I'm 30 pounds out for a boarding pass. And yes I checked in before my flight. So upon checking my bank statement they charged me 2 times for the 7 pound wrong pass and 2 times for the 22 pound pass. Now I'm 22 pound for the ticket and 56 pounds to print out the passes. Also the staff was rude and unhelpful even though we were the only ones around they were to inconvenienced to help!"

Cons: "Very unorganised, one person checking in luggage, long queues, two flights mixed together. The boarding gate was really badly organised, passengers being held in a very small space to wait for a bus, the buses were late. Priority boarding wasn’t being checked so everyone was being sent through into the holding space which was about 3 metres by 7 metres standing room only. The plane was late."

Seated in middle seat that didn’t recline. Had to check in via app prearrival at airport to avoid £55 fee per person. Basically the UK version of Spirit Airlines, but worse."

Cons: "I purchased Priority in order to have a carry-on, and even though the carry-on was fine for my first flight, they forced me to check it and pay 40 pounds for my second flight. Then the flight was delayed, causing me to miss my connection and completely ruining my entire travel day. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE LOW RATES. YOU WILL END UP LOSING MONEY."

Cons: "We were not told the reason for the delay. We were not given an estimate of the length of the delay. No update information was given. We all understand there can be problems; but just tell us what they are? Then, we were all called forward to board, but I was still standing 45 minutes later in the queue. Let us wait in (relative) comfort in the terminal (restrooms, drinks, wider seats etc), don't start to board us ridiculously early."

Cons: "We were charged almost 200 euros extra because we did not check in online (which we could not do because we had been traveling for 30 hours and did not have Wi-Fi in the air) and when we went to check in the receptionist was rude about the fact that we had not checked in, so we had to go across to a different counter to pay our fee, go back to check in at the first counter, and then was told we could not be seated together, when it turned out the flight was half empty. Besides all of this, the planes are not nice, you are only allowed one carry on (no personal item) and the seats are not comfortable. I thought we would save money but check in fees and ridiculous baggage fees made this flight cost more than a nicer airline."
Cons: "From now on I will pay a little bit more money to have a more comfortable flight. The aircraft Ryanair is employing is easily a couple decades old, and is incredibly cramped. The whole aircraft felt rickety as it rocketed through the sky. Our flight boarded an hour late (not the fault of the airline) and when we got on the plane the crew members hardly smiled and were very grumpy. That's the last time I try to save a quick buck on a cheaper airline."

Also, the length of the terminal to board downstairs off the tarmac is ridiculous for an older couple such as we are. The only good thing was (a) a polite airport employee who got us a wheelchair; (b) a second boarding door for rear section seats."
