The historic beauty of the lobby. Desire queen sized beds. The maid inadvertently picked up my husband's tuxedo shirt when changing the bed linen. Although we reported the loss, no one has contacted us since about ever finding it? A disappointed guest :+(
The staff at the back hotel bar was friendly, excellent and accommodating when the kitchen was about to close in 5 minutes. He even offered to get Guinness on tap from the front bar the Last Hurray. Rooms were clean and they were able to accommodate us with a better view. Bed is comfortable and linens are nice thread count. Decor is classic, wood paneled, gold, red and mustard yellow-- and reminded us of Stephen King's The Shining (where the film was made). Wifi is not included if you book through a third party-- they should change this policy as a courtesy. Drainage in tub was a little slow but this is true of most Boston older buildings.
Samantha was great as we were checking in. We were a little early for check in so she said the hotel would hold our bags while we toured the city. She came through on the promise of a room with a better view. So happy with the room that over looked Kings Chapel and Old City Hall. The hotel is right in the middle of everything, easy walking distance to anything. Beds were comfortable. Room was a little small but wont stop me from staying again. No free WiFi.
Although small, the room was comfortable and the shower quite lovely. Plenty of hot water in the morning. A blizzard was expected so I decided to check out a day early, and this was hassle free. I did not ask for the name of the person who helped me with the checkout, but she was very polite and extremely helpful. The door man and valet folks were quick to bring my car and wish me a safe journey. Overall a very pleasant stay and I was able to accomplish that which I was in town for. I found sleep very difficult due to the noise level throughout the first night of my stay, which was a Tuesday. Many drunk people coming to rooms late very loud in the hallway and then one couple in the room next to mine arguing until approximately 4am.
This hotel for the amount I paid was really above my expectations in terms of service. Location is very central to the historic district, entertainment, food shopping. The hotel itself has a rich history and great to wonder through it. Would stay here again.
Location was close to most points of interest in downtown/waterfront Boston. Large lobby and helpful staff. Clean. Would rather have traded nice large entrance and lobby area for a better room size and traded the standard (double) bed for a queen size. Price for what we received was a little on the expensive side. Hotel claims to be 4 star but it doesn't quite make that level. WiFi should have been included as is becoming standard at hotels of this level
Location is fantastic--easy walking distance to all the places of interest. Hotel is itself a historical landmark. Room was rather small, no free wifi.

A friend of mine who lives locally was surprised I booked their since she said it is really "old". She was right. Main lobby carpet needs replacing. Stepped inside the "fine" dining restaurant and noticed a musty smell associated with "old" carpets and drapes.

The price and location was excellent. It was very convenient for my business trip. It was very clean and comfortable. Fitness room was very small. sometimes had to wait or come back to use a machine in the morning.

The hotel looked nicer online to be honest. The staff were pretty great. House keeping was really good with fixing the room after i called about the bed being dirty. They left a nice note and some snacks/drinks as well. The TV was really nice. Our room was not very well kept. It was dusty, the bed hadn't been changed I believe, the sheets and pillow case was dirty and hairy, and the bathroom smelled like ciggaretes and was kind of dirty. the room was better than a motel so it wasn't the worst, just a little too pricey for the kind of quality you end up getting.

The TV and shower are excellent as is the location of the hotel. Knowing how expensive downtown Boston hotels are, I appreciate being able to stay in the heart of the city at such a low cost. Sadly, the staff isn't very friendly. They always act like they are doing you a favor if asked a question or reporting the elevator malfunctioning!!!!

Receptionist clerks responsive to questions and pleasing traveler. The bathroom shower was excellent. The heating unit in the room was noisy. The breakfast was skimpy; commercial granola bars, oranges, bananas, coffee from machine (all impersonal).
The one thing I liked the most was the location, it is convenient to a lot of areas. I loved the hotel staff and how friendly they are, as well as the bar/restaurant with entrance from the lobby. Rooms are too small, not comfortable at all, with one chair only in the room, and a lot of construction going on since early Saturday morning. Rooms are always dark with one small window.

The best part was necessarily the SPA, gym and swimming pool which can make a major diffrence in any hotel stay. The staff manning the cafe and restaurants clealry requires more experinence and effectiveness.

This was a much nicer hotel than I expected for the money I paid. We were traveling with two children and had no problems. Everyone, especially the concierge was friendly and helpful. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Quincy Market and the Aquarium. The Italian North end is just a little further. Great overall experience. The only downside was the parking at the hotel was extremely expensive and was valet only. I'm sure there were other less expensive options nearby, but we didn't want the hassle of driving around the city with two crabby kids in the car.

The location was great especially in proximity to public transportation. The decor was simple and comfortable. The noise coming from the hallway and room next door was somewhat bothersome. The lounge on the groundfloor became a night spot on the weekend and guests are continuing to party going back to their rooms. The acoustics in the lounge were very loud as well.
The location was perfect for seeing almost everything in Boston. You ar eright in the centre of things yet it is not noisy like some hotels right in the hub of town. 2 things - No coffee maker in the room...thankfully coffee shops were close by...and having to pay for Internet in business centre

The hotel is directly connected to a bar/nightclub that housed what seemed to be a majority of hotel clientele. "Cabin" room had a 70 inch flat screen We stayed in a "Cabin" Whig meant our room was literally in the basement of them hotel and provided no windows. It was also quite small

Wonderful location with a world class view of the Boston Harbor, the airport across the bay and the flashing lighthouse at the mouth of the Atlantic beyond. Very good downstairs staff, lovely restaurant and bar, and spectacular if you like boats, the water, watching the weather and walking to the aquarium, etc. Easy to get to by water taxi from the airport -- an adventure. The sheet on the bed had what was certainly a fresh red blood drop on it -- like someone had cut them selves and didn't know while making the bed -- when we finally came in late the first night. The staff took care of this and the room was very clean after that.
The Meritage Restaurant was outstanding. Our view was magnificent and the staff was very attentive, they seem to like what they are doing. The maid service was a bit inconsistent.

We liked the location - close to the airport, Faneuil Hall and the Financial center and places of interest. The breakfast - only one available in the area - was expensive and not good. We were forced to go to one of the closest hotels in order to get a proper buffet breakfast.

The location of the hotel was perfect. No car needed as we were right next to all of the shopping of Fanuiel Hall. Also, the spa was right next door which just what we wanted for a girls weekend away. The parking to stay at this hotel was really pricey. So we parked at the T-station which was a lot cheaper, however it meant a short walk to the hotel with all of our luggage
Great location, very comfortable, most staff was very helpful. The best restaraunt we experienced in the downtown area. Their food was fantastic! The housekeeping schedule was a bit off - but fine in detail. Also, one of the staff members was not particularly helpful with walking directions.

The staff was wonderful, very polite and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The beds were quite comfortable. The room was nicely spacious. It is a lovely hotel conveniently located for the tourist. The appointments were a little less than expected considering the expense/level of accommodation. Nothing major. The furniture was sub-par - the drawers didn't close well, the closet door light weight. The phone lines did not work. There was on-going remodeling work to which the trouble with the phones might be attributed however the issue was not resolved within our four night stay.
Great location. 0.2 miles from fanuiel hall. Next to a pub and across the street from a restaurant / next to Howel at the moon and walking distance to aquarium, restaurants, bars and harbor... Everything costs money... Parking is $51 extra per night. Wifi is $40 extra per night... King Rooms are tiny... Staff isn't friendly... Hallways are dark... Some valet people are rude, others are absolute dolls... And the lobby is depressing and sets the vibe for the rest of the hotel... Couldn't control heat, felt like cold air was blowing on us all night.
Being near the harbor. Taxis weren't always available, although the waits were not too long.
Service in the hotel bar. Ordered mimosas while we waited for our car. 4 different waitresses came over to get our order (after we'd already placed it). 10 minutes later, still sans mimosa, I asked one of them if they were coming. As it turns out they won't serve alcohol before 11 AM. Probably something worth mentioning when someone orders!!!!

It was incredibly functional--I stayed in a clean, nice one bed room and for my needs it was perfect. The only thing that didn't quite work was the fact that I was relying fully on public transportation and it is a solid walk from the closet T stop. I could do it, but if you have kids, or ladies, if you're wearing heels, plan to take 'em off to get there!

Awesome staff. They helped a lot with restaurants and hot spots of Boston. They asked if I'd like a spacious room.. I got a regular one oddly shaped. They had construction going and woke me up with drills and hammers at 730am both the nights I was there
We enjoyed the Hilton very much! The rooms were extremely clean and cozy. The Location was ideal for enjoying the night life however.... when we were trying to sleep it was extremely loud. We heard people throughout the hotel all night and everything going on outside the windows. Otherwise everything was wonderful!

The hotel is in a great location. It was surrounded by restaurants and the church bell sounded lovely. Room service was delicious, came quickly, and was hot. I was sorry that the room lacked slippers, a shower cap, a complimentary bottle of water, a newspaper, or turndown service. They are having a plumbing problem. The pipes in the shower bang and the shower head looks ready to shoot out of the wall. Breakfast was not delicious and the valets were so slow retrieving our car the following morning that we almost missed our brunch reservation.
A very clean hotel with efficient and friendly staff no coffee pot in the room and the incredible cost to get a very nice room in downtown Boston near the theaters. $425 is just too much money for a middle class family to pay to go have a fun night on the town. In the future I will make arrangements further in advance so I can find a boutique hotel like John Jeffries House or better for $200 / night. OR, I just won't go for overnight.
Our stay at the Nine Zero was beyond extraordinary. We called about six hours before check in to see if it would be possible to upgrade to a room with a city view (my husband told the guy at the front desk that we were celebrating out anniversary and seeing a show at the Orpheum Theatre that evening) - we were quickly and without questions upgraded to a king suite on the 12th floor with a gorgeous view of the city - we weren't even charged for such an amazing upgrade! nothing. no complaints.
Nice how the staff was friendly and catered to the clientele and even those that had dogs staying with them. Nice gym and equipment. Very nice room decor and comfortable bed and queen size beds were nice. Excellent location being close to everything we wanted and close to the subway for easy transportation to anywhere including the airport without having to use the expensive taxi route. I didn't like that there wasn't a coffee maker in the room to make our own coffee vs. having to go to a local Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks for an added cost. That should be a standard for any hotel. Also, there is no fan in the bathroom to get rid of the humidity quickly after taking a shower. The walls are a bit thin as you can hear too much noise from upstairs and side neighbors when using shower/bathrooms and shutting doors.

The ambience is cool--contemporary and funky with a sense of humor and fun thrown in. The staff at the front desk were wonderful--friendly, helpful, welcoming. It would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room. When I asked at the desk, however, they brought one right up.
The room design was modern and clean, but the size of it was really difficult to move around in. The front desk people were so nice and helpful. For the price, I really do not believe I got my money's worth. The AC was set on some Eco setting that only ran when there was movement in the room, it was hot and uncomfortable and i slept terribly. There was no soap in the shower and our view was of a pile of garbage out the window. Also, to valet park it was 47 dollars, which should be free. after spending 355 on a small room.
Rooms and bathrooms were nice, fresh coffee service and water in lobby nice touch. Morning staff was lovely. Convenient to wharf and north end. Lobby has no seatng area at all other that the restaurant, where the music blared way too loud all day. My son was resting in the room and there was literally no quiet place in the hotel to go check email or make a few calls. 2 of my 4 nights there were way overpriced, priced dropped significantly over the weekend. No concierge to help with suggestions, directions, etc. when limited front desk staff is engaged with guests.

The studio room was ok and nicely furnished It was incredibly noisy, street traffic, garbage trucks, whining and motors running kept you awake from 2.30-5.30am every morning. I am afraid teh hotel was unworkable as a business hotel, and only possible as a holiday hotel if you are a heavy sleeper or a hard drinker so that you could surivive teh noise. I'll never stay again nor would I recommend it. Sorry. Having booked 2 rooms and paid so much a night I was utterly disappointed. Complaining next morning to the front desk about the noise, the receptionist was talking to me and then said "hold on" picked up the phone and started arranging some other booking with the caller. Don't Americans do basic manners anymore? Please note this is not a complaint, it was rude, noisy and expensive.
Fifteen Beacon was beautiful, staff was so helpful and servicing that we felt truly carefree on our vacation to Boston. The rooms were excellently appointed, fashionably contemporary and spacious. We loved the fireplace, the four post bed and the privacy, it was the perfect intimate setting amid the busy Boston city life.
I was thouroughly impressed with the service from the moment Valet opened our car doors till the moment Valet closed our doors at time of departure. I frequent 5 star hotels and must say this hotel, concierge and quality of service was unsurpassable. Perfect boutique hotel experience!
We checked in, headed up to our room, and found a party going on in it. Upon reporting that to the front desk, they were completely confounded. They found another room (supposedly larger than the first) and gave us drink coupons for the inconvenience. No problem. The room was small. 6" between the end of the bed and the desk. But otherwise ok. So we headed down to the bar and ordered two dry martinis a tiny bit dirty. They were out of Stoli so the bartender gave us a premium Stoli. The drinks came back with so much olive brine that they were green. Not drinkable, so we decided to head out for dinner. Upon leaving the coupons we were told that they didn't apply to premium drinks. We suggested paying the difference (for undrinkable cocktails) and the bartender got an attitude and said "just forget it". Finally, upon leaving the next morning, the smallish elevator stopped on the next floor down and the housecleaner got on with her cart, a big garbage bag stuffed with laundry, and a huge gray garbage can on wheels. We were crammed into the back corner of the elevator with our bags. How strange!
I loved the modern interior design and how friendly and helpful the staff was. My wife and I stayed at the Boxer for two nights for our mini-moon. We told the front desk staff that it was our honeymoon, and then about ten minutes later, a piece of red velvet cake and a bottle of champagne arrived at our door, completely on the house. We were very impressed. My only complaint is that the rooms in the pictures from the website looked bigger than our actual room.
Great location in center of city. Clean and well maintained. Unique and accentric feel. Thin walls, could hear everything going on in the hallway. Hard pillows, my neck and head hurt so bad in the morning. Tiny rooms.

The whole hotel was impeccably clean...wonderful. The room service was super fast. The location is close to so many great things in walking distance of hotel! The maid service was terrific; very friendly and thorough. The internet was fast - once you got on it. For a luxury hotel, internet connection is typically included in the price of your stay. As a Marriott rewards member I was surprised it was not free...apparently I was not at the right level. The parking was overpriced - one member of our group parked and $51 a day was extremely high. The cluster of cars, buses, taxes etc at the entrance was poorly managed. Pedestrians were at risk, guests at risk, and children at risk - there did not appear to be anyone in control of the flow of traffic coming in an out of the entrance area. High risk.

For $575 they could at least provide coffee and a morning newspaper. Bathroom was small and old.
We love staying at this hotel. We had a great view of Quincy Market and the city landscape. We like being close to the North End. Our room was clean and comfortable The hallway on our floor was a little dirty. Used glasses and dishes placed outside of rooms waiting to be picked up along with some spilled food on the rug.
