Cons: "A couple things went wrong on this trip, my checked luggage got misplaced for a day, and a nice women in baggage claim told me what was happening and a nice man handled my claim and my bag has now been returned to me. The bigger thing is my flight bas delayed taking off by 3 hours. Let me start that I would rather have a part replaced on the runway then not, safety is paramount. The fact is my flight took off 3 hours late from London (VS11), and got to my destination (BOS) 2.5 hours late. Kudos to the flight crew for getting me to my destination faster by gaining a little time. Plus, since BOSTON was my final destination it was all fine this time. But if I had had to get home to the elder person I take care of or my teenager it would been a problem. Again, I'm annoyed, but I do understand the reasons and they are valid and preferred. I have heard that airlines to keep their flight rating high, wait for planes to leave the gate on time and then do repairs on the tarmac. If this is still a SOP for airlines you should change the way the statistics are collected and figure out a way of not perpetuating this type of disincentive. This is just hypothesis on my part, and my whole trip had little negatives."

But for 9 hours...not good. The short hop down from ATL to MCO after was a blessed relief. Virgin, you have got to think a little more about your passengers asses. Also, having flown with just about every major transatlantic operator, including previous trips with Virgin, the knee room was not good. If you stretched out under the seat in front you were ok but draw your knees up... I wore short trousers for comfort and have sore points on my knees where they rubbed against the material of the chair in front."

My son is 6'2" and his knees were literally against the back of the chair in front of him, luckily my daughter was in that seat so she didn't recline it on his knees. My back was killing me in the first hour (I'm only 5'2") my 13 year old daughter complained that her back was killing her by the end of the flight. I've never flown Lufthansa before and will never again!"

My companion did use hers, and mine (also a first in many decades). Part of the bumpiness could have been due to a weather system but the plane's movement was jerky when taxiing in Boston. BOS-MUC used to be one of my favorite routes back when it was served by the A360. The new A350 is nothing special except for the entertainment system. Ironically the large screen seemed overwhelming due to the dismal distance to the seat in front."

Cons: "We were in the middle at the very back of the plane. It was quite bouncy for some time during the flight. The stewardess informed us that that was typical for seats at the back of the plane. It is not easy to choose your seats when you buy the ticket online, but I would prefer a calmer location. Also I was squeezed when the person in front of me leaned back in her seat. Service was excellent, however."

Considering I took six flights in this month, I will let it slide that they ran out of New movies. Worst part was food. Obviously, there is no quality consideration when they decide menu. Check Emirates or other similar fare bracket airlines to understand the gravity of Lufthansa food problem. If one reason I had to choose to drop Lufthansa from my future consideration then that would be worst food and drinks. I would strongly recommend that they should assign people who need additional time to board at the back of the plane. It will help them to go back of the plane faster and avoid gridlock in the middle. Another advantage is it will help other passengers leave plane faster at the end of the ride. Boarding process will be come significantly faster by filling the plane from back to front by loading passanger with children and who needs time at the first loading area at the back of the plane. My flight from Boston-Munich was fine but on my return trip from Frankfurt-Boston, I didn't receive a gluten free meal and the passenger behind me was given my gluten free snack."

Pros: "I like to fly LH on the BOS to FRA route as they are the only carrier to fly this route nonstop. Usually the service is quite good. The crew is attentive, offers water or juice repeatedly, gives you a warm moist handcloth before the mealservice to clean your hands. Check-in in FRa can be tedious becaiuse of long lines."
Cons: "LH experienced several strikes in the last two years or so. Once I had to stay an extra day, this time I had to cut a family visit a day short. While they handled the rebooking in both cases quite efficiently, not everyone might have the flexibility to change days so easily. It is also disappointing when one has to give up on a planned activity to make it back home on time. Movie selection could be updated and I miss having an actual newspaper or magazine to read on the long flight. Will have to pack my own oin the future."

Even offered us some orange juice and milk to take home knowing that we may need it (being away for a while) and knowing that our first priority was to get to a hospital. These little events shows the extreme compassion from Lufthansa's on-board staff. We will now ALWAYS look to fly Lufthansa whenever possible."

Boarding was a bit of a mess as they did not let families board first and were not very accomodative of families with small children, though I had a 9 year old, but there was a family with two very small children and they were not very helpful to them."

Outraging policy to offer more bookings than available seats that turned out into my wife and me being put in standby when we had purchased our tickets last July. Waiting for 30-40 minutes to claim our baggage to know it had been left in our origin destination in the end so it would probably be delivered 2 days later since the next flight would arrive the following day but late in the evening and more time wasted on the lane to claim for it that caused to miss our connecting train that would take us home and we had to wait for another hour to take the next so we finally got home 2 hours later than expected. We will never use again another company from the one world alliance."

Towards the end of the flight, they subject you to a charity video. You have to listen/watch. The inflight entertainment is interrupted (again) for this."

Cons: "Even though all correspondence told me I could check in 24 hours ahead and choose a seat, after repeatedly trying, I gave up. I even called and was told I could do it, but I couldn’t. Because of that, I got a crappy seat. Another man and I stood outside of a bathroom for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come out, and we finally discovered that a flight attendant had locked it from the outside because of turbulence and forgot to open it. My checked bag was tagged with the priority sticker. I had a tight connection to catch a bus once I got to Boston. My bag came out of the carousel exactly 15 minutes after the first bag came out. That’s priority???"

Cons: "Before we boarded this plane we arrived at Aer Lingus for a 2 hour layover. The airport only had a snack bar open and an express bar with only drinks. There was cafes upstairs but that was closed off to hundreds of people with a layover between flights. When asked they said it was closed off by escalater and elevator to all of us. They blocked the escalator with a giant gate sign. People waited in line at a snack for over 20 mins for a bite to eat that was express food or a choice of 5 sandwiches that came hot that actually sucked not worth the money at all. People were pissed! I was looking forward to a nice meal for my layover but that definitely did not happen! They only came around once with drinks on a 6 hour flight, then twice for coffe and tea. When I asked for a sprite they said they ran out of things completely"

I almost gave up on watching a movie until I pulled out my iPhone headphones and realized that I could finally hear the dialogue over the roar of the plane."

The food and beverages were wonderful to have on the long flight in the intervals they were handed out. Had multiple flights with Aer Lingus on our trip and was delighted with all of the flights. We will definitely be flying on Aer Lingus again!"

I later noticed one of the cabin crew eating a n apparently non-daily pasta dish. One toilet was also out of service."

Cons: "Aer Lingus operated the flight. Haphazzard ticketing/check-in procedure would have been stressful if it wasn't clear that everyone else on the plane was there in line too. Both legs of our trip with Aer Lingus were on older planes, that had obviously flown a lot of miles. Sound on my seat console on this flight was so bad that it was unusable."

Pros: "Crew members communicated well and were highly attentive to customer needs. Una's crew did a fine job. Kayak reservation system leaves fliers defenseless to a barrage of changing schedules/gates and confirmation codes. An absolute mess that raises customer anxiety unnecessarily. I never was able to check-in successfully online. Thankfully Aer Lingus was ready to deal with this situation."

Cons: "The flight was over an hour late taking off. Mediocre service from the crew, they seemed tired. Upon arrival you could not open the cargo doors and our luggage was delayed for almost 1.5 hours. There were several other issues with thus flight that made the overall experience a poor one. Some where beyond the control of the airline, others were not. There was a lot of room for improvement."

Pros: "Much better than the Rome-Dublin leg. A modern plane with entertainment. A boarding process with effective signage and flowing lines. An absolutely top-rate cabin crew. Actually enjoyable food."
Cons: "Really was well done: systems seem to be functioning smoothly and feedback processes are working. One thing I did note was that the waste seemed to be collected without sorting for recycling. Considering you all are on the Emerald (green) Isle, you could take up the mantle of being the "most ecological" airline in the world. It would only take a small amount of messaging."

Cons: "Are Lingus is non responsive to their customers. When I called them about their change in my schedule, I was on hold for 45 minutes before someone answered the call. I explained my situation that because they changed my flight that I would now have to get a hotel, stay overnight and fly out the next day. They said there was nothing they could do and refused to pay for the hotel or meals that would be incurred as a result of their changing my flight. This was after I explained that I had originally paid more for the tickets on their airline so I would NOT have a long layover. Worst customer service I have ever encountered."

Cons: "My seat was changed and I was in the middle seat, not the window seat I had selected weeks earlier. My brother and his daughter had their seats changed, too, and they were in middle seats 14 rows apart, so she flew by herself on an international flight all by hersel! My headphones wouldn't work correctly in the double jack, only getting one side. Why change the plugs? The flight attendant said that they wouldn't work and that she would get me a headset. Two hours into the flight I finally got a headset. The male flight attendant was great, but unfortunately we were dealing with others that totally ignored my two small requests for the entire 6 hour flight. Our flight to Dublin was awesome, but this flight back was very very disappointing!! Changed my while feeling about Aer Lingus"

Cons: "Two major problems, when we went to check in, we stood in line and were very rudely told by some German British Airways attendent that we couldn't check in with them and that we needed to go to Aer Lingus, this even though our reservations were through British Airways. Second, despite my efforts over a few months to make seat reservations, my daughter and i were separated. Aer Lingus reps in rome fixed that and I was very, very grateful for that, but when we got to the Dublin/Boston leg of our flight, they couldn't or wouldn 't fix the seating issue. On board the plane though, the flight attendents arranged for my daughter and I to sit together. Really upset me that I didn't know until the very last minute, on the plane, whether I was going to be able to sit next to my child."

Cons: "The new plane has no usable pouch to put small items in during takeoff and landing - you have to hold everything now, as the cargo net they use barely opens. As hard as the crew hammers you to put things away, having that pouch is handy. Also, we all know we are crammed in too tight."

They told us to go to the website to request a refund and wouldn't offer us any flight upgrades. We got on the flight and people were told not to sit in the unoccupied enconomy plus seats unless they paid for them. Pretty poor that considering there were at least 2 rows of seats available they are so tight they can't even be bothered to compensate us in a way that won't effect their bottom line. We completed the return request only to be told that refunds are not offered on schedule changes. Again pretty shoddy customer service and shows that all they are about is your money. The breakfast we had was disgusting. The melted cheese looked like someone had vomited onto my tray. On waiting for our connecting flight there was an old lady who was dumped at a gate on a wheel chair. They person then left without telling them what was happening. We could see she was anxious about not knowing what was happening. My wife went to the United help desk to ask for information for the lady's flight and was told she should just check the information board and dismissed. Not sure how an old lady who can't walk is meant to do this (this was explained to them). If United had bothered to make some kind of effort to be at least helpful in any stage with refunding / upgrading us and being helpful to an old lady maybe this review would be different. Ultimately all they care about is your money and will deliver a shockingly bad customer service wherever they can get away with it. I WONT be flying United again. I will pay more for another airline."

Oh wait, but there's still Wi-Fi service, right? Sure, if you are willing to pay $17 just to download application!! United, I understand how you want to make little money out of a customer's pocket, but this is not how you should do it. You should at least allow internet connection before departure or let the customer aware they need to download application beforehand."

One of the air hostess had a major attitude. For example one passenger who was stuck in the middle of other passengers asked her politely if she could help him put the carry on in an overhead bin near her .. and she responded "I cant help you, you need to put it up yourself sir". Not something one expects. She was also terse with passengers, ordering them in an annoyed tone."

Pros: "I didnt know I could only bring one item on board that had to be checked UNDERNEATH the seat in front of me. I didnt have the "right" ticket for over head storage. I had to buy a box for $15 to put my purse in and THEN pay $35 to check my PURSE in! I couldnt check in early. I had to go to the gate to get a seat assignment and then even though my assigned seat was in the 10th row, I then had to line up in groups like Southwest and I guess my punishment for sitting in economy was to wait to board last. I felt like third class boarder on the Titanic. United has become less than a Greyhound bus. They will NEVER be my first choice again! It was HORRIFIC I will go to ANY other airlines before them. P.S. the service at the Houston counter were rude and awful except for Ms. Edwards"

Cons: "It began going downhill at the United Lounge, where I put two chairs together to get a little sleep since my flight was scheduled to leave at 12:30am. I was summarily woken up and told that it wasn't appropriate to sleep in a lounge. I complained at the front-desk (politely) and was told ... "This is a lounge". Oh and yes, the Wifi wouldn't connect and the food was stale ... so I left, and found a very nice sofa in the concourse. On the flight, service was non-existent, whoever was in the galley was clattering things about, despite the fact that this is a short red-eye flight ... the coffee was awful. The steward forgot to give me my coat and I had to ask twice AFTER we landed and were leaving the plane to get it. By contrast, Lufthansa has daybeds and a special quiet area to snooze, and offer pillows and blankets. Clearly, the Germans are louche compared to Americans."

Pros: "Flight was short."
Cons: "I was not informed about the delay until after I checked my bag, otherwise I might have chosen another flight. I was informed that though I could possibly change flights, my bag might not. I have the UA app, and did not receive timely notification. Free WIFI would have been nice as a compensation. A 4 hour delay means I miss my bus and extends my travel time significantly, one more night away from home. You did offer $50 of mt next UA flight for the next year, but I don't fly that often. Considering the reason for the delay was they were waiting for a plane was frustrating."

Pros: "Very meticulous pilots, very friendly and accommodating cabin crew"
Cons: "When we made reservations in February we opted for economy plus seating 8C and 8D on an Airbus A320. In June we received notice of a schedule and equipment change to a Boeing 737-300. I was not told or given the option to change seat assignments, and we were assigned middle and window seats 28E and 28F, which were torture, so narrow and almost no legroom. Why weren't we automatically assigned economy plus seats? Adding insult to injury I had to apply for a refund for the seat upgrade, which again should have been automatic. Seeing as how the return flight was code-shared with AirCanada, United did not give us the option to upgrade seating, so I was forced to call United, waited almost 40 minutes so that they could give me the AirCanada booking reference number which then enabled me to upgrade seats via AirCanada's website. Lucky thing too because there weren't many economy plus seats left. I consider myself to be a savvy traveler, but there were too many unknowns and hoops to jump through in order to get proper seating. Plus the extra fees for premier access and baggage are exorbitant. Finally, I bought an egg white flatbread snack which was awful. I don't see how United gets away with this treatment, it certainly doesn't make for an enjoyable experience when vacationing. In fact we are seriously considering not taking any more vacations requiring flying. We're happy that airlines are profitable, but not at the expense of comfort or navigating options that require very sophisticated knowledge."

Pros: "I got home safe."
Cons: "The customer service was mediocre. The selection of complementary beverage was minimal compared to other airlines. The staff are disgruntled and sometimes rude. There was always some sort of mechanical problems with the plane going to Puerto Plata and coming back. On the way to DR we had to divert to Miami because of problems with Navigation. They made us wait seven hours and gave us a voucher for food at the last minute. People had already bought food. I would not recommend United to none of my associates."

Pros: "goos seat"
Cons: "There was no food what so ever while business got full dinner and the entertainment was very poor"

Cons: "Wouldn't let me bring my bag even though there was plenty of space."

Pros: "There was nothing I liked about the flight"
Cons: "Layover in New Jersey was horrible. My flight was delayed 4x, and arrived at my destination 4 hours behind schedule. When I asked customer service for more information regarding my flight, the staff was rude, did not offer a resolution or give an explanation for the delay. A little customer service could have went a long way to make the situation better. I am overall not pleased with the customer service I received and was disappointed with the delay. I don't think I will ever fly united again due to the customer service."

Cons: "Flight kept being delayed. Gate agents were rude and not helpful. Acted like I was crazy for being worried I would miss connection. After flight was changed 5 times try finally changed my flight and I had to wait 5 hours at airport."

Pros: "Flight took off before scheduled departure time.l"
Cons: "Passengers were rude as they walked down the isle Several times I was hit by a person walking by me without any apologies."

Pros: "It was on time and a little early"
Cons: "I had to pay to watch any movies which I didn't and service was aloof."

Pros: "On time in spite of a late start Gate attendants were nice and helpful Comfortable as is possible in economy without spending a lot more money. Food (pretzels and drinks) as good as possible without spending more money. (I remember the good old days when you got much more in seating and food for your money)"
Cons: "This flight I had a window seat and I felt like I couldn't get up to stretch my legs or use the bathroom. (I am 70 and 4 hours is too long to sit) I usually get an isle seat but ALWAYS have to give up my bag at the gate - my bag which you tell me I can bring ON the plane with me. I do not like having to waste time claiming my bag that you told me I could have with me on the plane. I can pay $25 for that privilege!! The flight attendants always seem like they have their defenses up. One even held up the people trying to board so she could serve a drink to someone in first class. REALLY?? They couldn't wait till the plane was loaded?? I gave this flight a 'good' rating because it was mostly as good as it is going to get with economy passengers needs stripped to the bare minimum."

Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Too tight. $8 sends a little high for the amount of commercials one has to suffer though on the tv"

Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "Flight delayed after boarding by 30 + minutes. Snack was not only meager but tasted stale. As my flight from LA was a bit late I didn't really have time to get something to take on the plane. The on board choices were expensive and not at all appealing. Beverage service was only twice. The plane was dirty I had trash in the seat pocket in front of me. The bathroom I used was awful. Trash on the floor toilet was dirty and it smelt bad. It was comparable to a train I took crossing Siberia in the 90,s. My flight to LA was delayed by 51/2 hours. I was given a voucher but after this experience not sure I will ever use it"

Cons: "-Jolene at the United check in at the Vancouver airport loves to discriminate -No WiFi on a 5+ hour flight -Old clunky planes -Poor service overall -Noticed employees using their phones constantly instead of helping paying Customers -No leg room -Package on food said snack mix but it only contained pretzels"

Cons: "Seats. Not comfortable at all for long flights."

Pros: "Comfortable seats, decent drink options"
Cons: "Boarded late. There were no seats at the gate so everyone had to just stand around waiting to board. No announcement or apology. Took 25 minutes after we landed for the first bag to come down the chute at baggage claim. My first class dining options were chips, pretzels, or a banana. Short flight but still."

Pros: "Crew was awesome, flight was half empty, and we arrived 30 minutes early. Couldn't have been better"

Cons: "Delayed then changed gates with five minutes until boarding with the new gate a half a mile away. Then once onboard we were delayed again."

Pros: "Was shocked they still offered drinks on such a short and small flight."

Pros: "Crew staff went out of his way to find something for my aisle to snack on when the person next to me asked if there was any snacks on the plane. The plane had to be changed for another plane due to a mechanical issue on the first plane, and the new plane had not been stocked with food after it's previous flight, yet the crew member was able to scrounge up some snacks for us! Also got complimentary directtv - nice, but doesn't make up for not getting home in time yet again."
Cons: "United sucks. I have flown it maybe 10-12 times in the past 2.5 years, mostly back and forth between Chicago and Boston. I have had only 3 round trip flights go without a hitch. Every other trip was delayed. This time 4 hours on my return flight to Boston due to a plane switch, boarding of a new plane to discover a mechanical issue, deboarding, waiting for a new plane, then boarding and sitting on the ground for another 40 min before we were able to take off. I was delayed 1.5 hours on the way to Chicago due to another plane swap (no joke). Still doesn't top but my worst 5 hour delay in Chicago on the way back to Boston because the captain didn't show up. United is atrocious and is my last choice or any airline. Only fly when I'm absolutely forced to now due to no other reasonable choices. They are below delta, JetBlue, American, southwest, and embarrassingly, spirit as well. Terrible."

Pros: "At least there was room to sprawl out and rest."
Cons: "We boarded our plane and during preflight check on the runway the captain learned there was mechanical error (in the right engine fuel something). The issue could not be solved and we had to change planes. On the second plane, the captain shared with travelers that "and two loose wires were found, so it's good we caught that and changed planes". What the heck? Shouldn't basic functions be checked before a plane is boarded? What was supposed to be a 1030 red eye, turned out to be a 1 AM bloodshot eye."

Pros: "Captain had apologized many times about the delay. I appreciated that. . Crew attitude towards customers were way better than my first leg.( Beijing to Chicago). I wonder why. Boarding took long time. Many people had no overhead bin for their carry on. I don't have one so I Just watched them. They serviced water and a tiny snack. One man asked if they have something to eat. He was given a bigger bag of snack, free, usually he had to pay. I guess its due to the delay. Waited a little longer for luggages. But I was happy I arrived Boston safe before midnight."

Then someone remembered the pets stuck in the cargo hold, and we went back to the gate. After deplaning, we stood at the gate for thirty minutes and weren't given vouchers for refreshments on the concourse nor bottles or at least bottles of water. Finally we were called for boarding, and then 10 minutes after that, the first passenger actually got on. After a second boarding we made it out to the runway... where we sat for another 40 minutes. Keep in mind, this particular plane has no seat outlets nor in seat entertainment systems, so most people had either dead or dying phones at this point, rendering the "complimentary in flight entertainment" available through the United app useless. Once we were finally in air, we weren't comped drinks or Internet or any other amenity offered by United. I've been stuck in situations like this on other airlines, but they worked to provide the barest glimmer of hospitality. Fly the friendly skies?
