Cons: "Charging customers for meals on a transatlantic flight is a terrible way to nickel and dime your customers for the most basic provisions. Not all travellers carry accepted credit cards, including the woman sitting beside me. Because it is so common (formally standardized) for airlines to provide food on longer flights, many travellers assume their WestJet flight will the same and arrive unprepared. I normally love WestJet for their customer service, but these flight attendants talked down to customers with legitimate questions. I am choosing another airline for my next international flight, although reluctantly so - I hope to see some changes from WestJet for a more comfortable flight."

Pros: "I would give the crew 10 stars if I could! This was by far one of the best flights I’ve ever been on. I’m not a fan of having to pay/rent an iPad for entertainment, and it was a bit cold for my taste(I also had to pay for a tiny blanket). However, other than those two very minor things, it was a wonderful flight. I have never flown with a better crew, you could really tell they all actually enjoy their jobs. I loved that the pilot had a great sense of humor, he told a few funny jokes after we landed(while we were taxiing) it definitely helped make the time pass faster & I honestly think it put everyone in a good mood :) I have never been more satisfied with a flight. I will most definitely recommend WestJet to everyone I know, and will be my first choice for flying myself."

Pros: "Despite an ontime boarding, weather (thunderstorms) and air traffic congestion left us stuck on the tarmac for over 3 hours. Kudos to the captain for keeping us informed of every development and for taking the initiative to negotiate a southern flight plan routing that allowed us eventually to depart when other flights were being cancelled due to congestion in Heathrow airspace to the north. West Jet also put together a special team in Toronto to rebook passengers with connecting flights to later flights. This meant they had a new boarding pass ready and waiting for me by the time I got to Toronto, so the disruption was minimized."

Unfortunately, we ended up delayed on the tarmac for over 3 hours and they ran out of hot meals before they reached my seat row. I had to make do with crackers, cheese and fruit as my dinner. Lesson learned: always reserve my meal (or buy one) before boarding my flight - you never know what kind of delays will occur. To be fair, the crew did offer me a free glass of wine to go with it, which was a nice touch."

IF one goes on line 36 hours before you can get if for $55. We were unaware that the bag wasn't included (our bad, of course), but when we pointed out that on Iceland Air check in there was NO place that asked for bags?? They said it was our fault for not "reading the fine print". We can only check in 24 hours in advance, so WHO would think to "manage trip"...36 hours in advance?? Especially in rural Iceland which is where we were 36 hours ahead of time. We would have gladly paid the discounted rate for the bag, but no on was willing to help us with that, so we got soaked for $77 and were told to take our concerns to Iceland air customer service."

Information agents were either unavailable or late when an issue was present and weren’t helpful most of the time. I would do my best to never fly IA again or recommend them to anyone, especially those traveling to and from the US/Europe."

It was overcrowded to the point of being uncomfortable and there was a 30min+ wait to buy food from the only shop. As a result we did not have time to grab a bite to eat between flights. My partner was subjected to additional TSA checks which I am aware is a random check and a nescessity but due to the amount of flights departing for the US this took an extra hour, and delayed our flight. I'm thankful that Iceland Air didn't leave without us but it was an immensely stressful experience that I don't wish to go through again."

Cons: "I was traveling with my 72 year old mother and had 2 hand luggages with me. No one offered or bothered to assist my mother down the flight of stairs to get down to board the bus awaiting for transfer on the initial flight to Hamburg. The flight attendants just stood there doing nothing. I hope this airline becomes so unpopular that Americans will boycott traveling with them. Lesson learned. Just like Delta Airlines, poor customer service, cheap overpriced meals will be the downfall of this airline."

Next there was a problem boarding our plane. There weren't enough buses, so we spent over an hour standing in a cramped line that snaked down the hall in an extremely crowded airport with people trying to squeeze though us. It was really uncomfortable. The worst was the crew waited to process people and send them in to the waiting area until a bus arrived, so this added to the wait time. I think tourism is popular in Iceland now and you all need to figure out how to make your systems better. I loved Iceland but I wold seriously need to think hard before booking another flight with you."

Then they just opened boarding with no communication, very strange. IcelandAir still operates in the dark ages with seating assignments, I was unable to select seats for my flight ahead of time because tickets were purchased through another ticket vendor other than the airline itself. I also don't like how all food has to be purchased even though it is a 7+ hour flight."

When I mean there was no line, its not that there were no people, its that we stood grouped together, because there was not enough space for everyone, so no line could form. So people simply cut in front of each other and there was quite a bit of anger and tension.Once we were on board, and seated, they came through and provided a meal. However after about 3 hours, I wanted to get some water to take medicine and I pushed the call light to get the flight attendant to come over and it was literally 45 minutes before anyone came into the economy portion. All of the flight attendants were either in first class, or hiding somewhere else. As one point 5 call lights were on and no one came. My wife got up and started looking for someone and finally I got water to take my pills. Almost an hour after I hit the call button. When the flight attendant came, I asked her if it was possible to purchase a soda, crackers, or anything as my blood sugar was low. She said there is nothing available for purchase, and did not offer anything. The only help I received was from a fellow passenger who offered a candy bar. I can not believe that there was nothing the attendant could offer me. I was willing to pay 10 euros for a soda, and they still said no. That is unacceptable."

We arrived to the airport nearly 2 hours before departure time, waited 35min in the security checks and my girlfriend was held 20min in the passport control. While she was queuing for the 2no police officers to check her passport, an airport assistant came to the queue and asked who was due to board in TP364 to Heathrow. She was made aware that my girlfriend was there due to board that flight. In the meantime I made my way to the gate to make the gate assistants aware that she was held in the passport checks and was already on her way to the gate. Having said that, the zealous assistants in the gate have closed the gate in front of me, 18min before scheduled departure time and - "very kindly" - told me that I wouldn't be boarding that flight anymore even though my girlfriend have arrived in the meantime. One can imagine the frustration I felt finding out that the flight departure was delayed and that the flight actually departed 40min late. At that time I was already suffering the extortion of the customer service from TAP, claiming from me circa 400Eur from each of us for a one way ticket in the next flight to London. Therefore... until I remember this... I AM NOT FLYING TAP ANYMORE... I am very proud of being Portuguese but in similar situations that occurred with me flying British Airways, Lufthansa or Air Italia, I have always been treated with much more respect and customer care!"
