Cons: "I was asked to check my carry-on. I have used this carry-on more than 50x without an issue. I have even put it in the smaller compartments on smaller Bombardier jets. I don't have an issue with being asked to check luggage, but I resent being asked when others are allowed to take their carry-on onto to the plane without issue. Right in front of me while I was waiting for a baggage tag, others were being checked in with carry-on equal to mine and allowed to take it onto the plane. I can only surmise that my ticket limited me to one bag onto the plane, although they would not tell me this. This was not clear when I booked the ticket nor when I checked in on-line. I had a 40 minute connection in Zurich so was very concerned that my luggage would not make it. Luckily, it did make it to my next stop. Swiss Air seems to have different restrictions than other airlines which I have encountered before. I take ownership that I should be aware of a tickets restrictions but this was a multi-leg trip (5). However, I will tend to avoid Swiss air in the future, to avoid having to research their unique restrictions."

They still never provided me with an email though and information allowing me to have my daughter checked in. they only provided me with her reference number."
Cons: "All in all we had a poor experience and my family and I were disappointed. I'm about to book yet another ticket for my brother, but this time I'm not considering Swiss Air. Just so you know, I'm a very positive person and appreciate every polite and courteous gesture. Unfortunately this experience didn't allow me to do so."

I made various attempts to solve the problem, switching headphones, switching to my own headphones (which can't really be done because they have a two-prong jack and personal headphones are always one). I tried watching different movies, programs, music...it wasn't the material I was watching that was the problem. I asked the flight attendant to reset my console. That didn't work either. I just ended up reading my book the entire 9 hour trip."

Cons: "SAS has introduced hand luggage measurement and weighing at checkin, for a maximum of 17.5 lbs or 8 kg. SAS does not care if you have flown on another transatlantic carrier, which allows more than 8 kg. Then you need to start emptying your hand luggage at checkin. The whole checkin process was a big mess, the contract employees eg. at Heathrow do not help much (they probably do not do this to any other airline). SAS staff does not remind you to take your IDs and passport, medications etc. from your hand luggage, which is then checkedin luggage as opposed to hand luggage. It is obvious that transatlantic passengers have more hand luggage than many local passengers."

Crew was very affable and helpful."

The boarding area was disorganized -- something I remember from flying through Norway a few years ago as well. I also didn't quite understand why I received priority boarding, as a United gold member on my outbound fight, but not on my return. So the inconsistency was a bit confusing/frustrating. But the flight overall was smooth, and the accommodations quite good."

Also there was a delay about 40 minutes when taking off in CPH (CPH-EWR) because of a fuel-screen malfunction or smth. The pilot was very nice and kept us informed all the time. I still didn't make my connection flight due to the delay and SAS rebooked me which made my already long trip 8 hrs longer."

Cons: "The SAS Supervisor at the gate permitted all preferred-level economy class ticketed passengers to board irrespective of the amount of their carry-on items - in some cases as many as three different items and many over-sized as per the measuring box located at the gate walkway, before conducting a bag-by-bag weight check on all the remaining economy ticketed passengers. Any carry-on item over 8 kgs was refused access to the airplane, and had to be unpacked at the gate in full view of other passengers to remove all electronic devices or breakable items, prior to being left with the gate agent to be placed on the plane as checked luggage. This procedure was conducted in an officious and highly non-customer friendly way, and was embarrassing to those passengers who had to "strip down" their single bag, in particular for female passengers who had overnight clothing and toiletries. A more practical and customer appropriate approach should replace such a draconian procedure."

When I got to the airport, they told me I had a bag on my connecting flight from Copenhagen to Helsinki but not on my flight to Copenhagen from LHR. At the airport I was charged 60 pounds for a small bag. Crazy! Completely unreasonable. Never flying SAS again if I can avoid it."

Cons: "I was sitting next to a special needs man and the crew was extremely unhelpful towards him. He should not have been flying alone and they did not help him at all. When you handed out the customs form he told the stewardess he needed help and she ignored him. When I pressed the call button for him it took someone 35minutes to come back and then she told him she would help him after dinner. I pressed a call button the second time to help him find something and again it took over 30 minutes for someone to come back to us. If there was a real emergency this delay would have been a huge problem. The stewardess was extremely rude in general."

They did not do this to any other passengers. Also when I ordered and paid for my food certain items were missing (I believe because I told them I was upset that they thought I was under 11 years of age) when I am more than double that age. It also took ages to get on the plane and there were delays when trying to land as well. The staff needs to also learn better english and other languages besides icelandic."

Cons: "A couple of things happened that brought down the scoring if these didn't happen the score would be higher. First.they lost/forgot to put my luggage on the plane. When we got to Newark there was a guy waiting for me and told me my luggage was still in Iceland. Not a huge inconvenience because I was home, but was was irritating was that we paid for an extra bag but they lost my bag. I feel i should get reimbursed the charge for the inconvenience. I'll take this up with the airline directly."

The worse thing is that when I booked my ticket it said one meal will be provided. But there was none. The choice of food for purchase was poor. I will never use Icelandair again. And I will discourage my colleagues using it too, who, like me, travel to conferences regularly."

The water is apparently from some very good spring in Iceland... but think about all the plastic bottles that are going to was up on your shores EVERY DAY! It's a very bad trade-off if you ask me. (Which you did via this questionnaire.) And on a loosely related point... At Reykjavik airport (which was a packed chaotic mess the day we passed through) I could only find ONE fountain (downstairs by the toilets) where passengers could refill drinking bottles. I went down three times to fill our bottle and every time there was a line of at least 10 folks. Clearly people want to use refillable bottles but it sure makes it hard when there is only one location to do it. Throw in at least a half dozen of them around the airport please."

Cons: "Unfortunately we were herded into a tiny waiting area, pushed up against one another waiting for a bus to take us to the plane. The wait was unnecessarily long and the room very hot. Then again we were held in a crampt and very warm bus to the aircraft. Passengers inside the bus, pushed open some of the windows to give us a little fresh cool air. Finally we exited into the rain and wind to very slowly board the aircraft in no order, which led to people standing out on a slick staircase getting rather wet prior to entering. One of the worst boarding plans I've experienced."

Pros: "Liked the bigger plane, where you could stand up. This was the nicest of the 4 Icelandair planes we traveled on."

Cons: "Where to start? I'm traveling with my wife and we decided to consolidate our stuff in one luggage since she is pregnant and I don't want her to carry any bag... We are allowed for 2 luggages of 23kg each combined it's 46kg, our bag was 30 kg. Through my previous trips with various airlines we had no pb with that until we reached the check in counter, the lady very politely explained that she has to charge me 35£ back and forth for excessive wait on the bag which I found outrageous so i had to squeeze a bunch of stuff in the hand luggage to send it as a cargo Then she infomed us that the plane is gonna be late for 1h while eventually it was delayed more than 2 h On the plane the staff was very friendly however the variety of food is so limited and the hostess passed by in the middle of flight with the duty free cart decorated as a Christmas tree while the lights were off and everyone was sleeping Finall we reach the airport, the bags took 45 minutes to reach us I love Iceland but i will not book with the same airline again"

Pros: "My eyes were closed and the crew passed by while serving food but did not wake me up. As a traveller I been woken up while food was served or food was kept on the seat tray."

Pros: "We really enjoyed TAP Air Portugal and expect to fly with them again. Comfortable seats, pillow, blanket, and MEALS! Good ones with actual silver! USB charging port at every seat, with a good selection of movies. Great airline for a great price!"

Cons: "We missed our connection flight because our first flight was delayed. Despite getting to the desk when there were still people queuing he refused to let us board. We are now delayed for 30 hours with no money or clothes. TAP staff were horrible- no sympathy or even an apology. Just awful."

Cons: "I had to pay to check the first piece of luggage 85€ one way. I was not inform of that when I bough the ticket and I could have chosen a different airline If I had considered that expense. The first piece used to be free intercontinental flights but now it varies depending on the company. I find difficult to find this information when buying and it makes a great difference in the final price you pay. I found strange flight attendants having a very loud conversation in a very quiet flight where most of the people were sleeping."

Pros: "In flight meal was one of the best I have ever had."
Cons: "Could not choose when to start a movie. If you wanted to watch one, you had to turn it on from the beginning or you would start in the middle. Plane could have been cooler as well."

Cons: "75 euros per bag on an international flight is robbery. I was also on my honeymoon, which I know shouldn't guarantee anything, but wow did it leave a bad impression, particularly when I hear stories of free upgrades all the time and I couldn't even get a free bag."

Cons: "Though the weather was fine - no excuse - the 7 hours delay! the fact that instead of landing in Newark (my original reservation), we landed in JFK! VERY INCONVENIENT AND AN EXTRA EXPENSE! The fact that in Lisbon airport I had to wait more than one hour to reach the help desk and then plead to receive a voucher for refreshment (left Madeira on an early flight, no breakfast on that flight, the flight to NY delayed till 5 PM!). I chose TAP because it was the most direct way to reach Madeira - but the delays on both flights were more than unfortunate - it was simply poor service."

Cons: "1) I tried several times while traveling but was unable to figure out how to choose a vegetarian option for the flight. When I called customer service, after a long hold time, the woman I finally spoke to told me it was too late to order vegetarian and refused to help me. I have never flown another airline (Air India, Turkish Air, United, American, China Southern, etc., etc.) that did not make this easy to choose during booking or check-in and that did not already have a standard ovo-lacto vegetarian option on the regular menu. Vegetarians practice for all sorts of reasons, including religion and health needs. It's unacceptable to make it so difficult to meet your meal needs while trapped on a plane for nine hours. 2) The check-in agent did not know the rule about all remaining seats being opened for passenger choice three hours before booking and insisted we had to pay to get aisle seats despite one of us having a health problem necessitating her standing up and walking every 45 minutes. Then another agent told us we couldn't choose seats for free for our Porto to Newark flight when we check in for our Madrid-Porto flight because it wasn't technically three hours before the Porto-Newark departure. But how were we supposed to choose seats for the Porto-Newark flight three hours in advance if we are in an airplane flying to Porto at that time? This makes no sense. Seats should be opened for every leg of a same-day journey at the same time. The agents were unhelpful and unsympathetic. 3) This was an old plane without options to choose a film or show to watch. Instead, passengers could flip through a few channels and hope to find something of interest that was already playing -- there was no way to begin a film or show from the beginning if you landed on it in the middle of its running time. I cannot recommend TAP Portugal to any of my friends, family, or colleagues after this experience."

Cons: "I was told that I can check in my luggage free of charge. So I bought some wine and checked in for the connection flights. They charged 35 euros and to final destination 75 euros. I tried to watch some movies and they had only one English channel. I couldn’t believe that kind of shitty system still exists. I don’t recommend it."

Cons: "I would like to see all TAP planes come with a standard entertainment option on the headrest in front of you with the advanced menu option of movies, games, radio, etc. and ensure all headphone jacks are operational. (Thisnflight the screen was messed up...not something you want to look at for 8 hours. ) I couldn't eat half the food because the salad wasn't anything but cabbage and a tomato and the corn and meat dish was cold and weird. I don't know what the dessert was but I got it down. I think the sandwich I got before landing was pesto and mayonnaise but I'm not sure. I didn't get much of it down before gagging. I wish when booking a flight you were given the menu or you could choose early in the flight and then be served. I bet it would cut down on wasted food and money."

Cons: "They damaged one of my bags and lost the other one. Bad service, really old planes and seats were to small; mind you I was traveling in business class. Over all a horrible airline"

Pros: "The checkin staff at LHR were really good and helped me with my visa application. They helped me to not miss my flight. Ten out of ten for them."

Cons: "I found it very frustrating that we were told at the ticket counter the boarding would begin at 11:15am for a 12:45pm flight time. I arrived at the airport over two hrs in advance and then had to run a significant distance through the airport and sweat and be unnecessarily anxious waiting on the customs line only to arrive at the gate at 11:20am, to have my bags checked for a second time and then be unable to get any food or coffee before a flight that did not begin boarding for another 40 minutes. I did and still do not see the need for that additional luggage/security check and then being held at the gate for almost an extra hour for seemingly no reason at all."

Cons: "Once we entered the boarding area we weren't allowed back out to get a sandwich, souvenir, etc. This was absolutely unacceptable. I felt like a prisoner in that area. I can't believe they thought this was OK."
