FAQs - booking Peru flights

  • Which other London airport can I fly from to Peru?

Besides Heathrow, you can also fly to Peru from Gatwick Airport (LGW) or London City Airport (LCY). Your decision will primarily be based on which part of London you’re coming from, as Gatwick is quite a distance to the south of London. London City Airport makes the best choice if you live in central London.

  • How can I save on carbon emissions on my flight to Peru?

Reducing your carbon emissions is all about choosing the right airline. On this route, you can save up to a third on emissions by flying from Gatwick Airport on a combination of Air Europa and LATAM, or from Stansted Airport on Ryanair, handing off to Iberia in Madrid. You can also save roughly 20% by flying on KLM via Amsterdam.

  • How do I get from Lima Airport to the city centre?

The only public transport available to take you into central Lima from the airport is the Lima Airport shuttle bus operated by QuickLlama. This takes a roundabout route with intervening stops, for a trip of just under 2h. If you hire a car or catch a taxi, you can drive straight into town in about 15min.

  • What are the laws regarding children travelling in cars in Peru?

In Peru it’s mandatory for any children younger than four years of age to have a car seat. Between the ages of four and 12, they are only allowed to travel in the back seat only, secured by a seat belt. If you’re travelling with children and self-driving, you can book car seats when you hire your vehicle.

  • Do I need a visa to visit Peru?

You won’t need a visa if you’re visiting Peru for leisure purposes. If you’re travelling on business, you’re best advised to check what you’ll require at the Peruvian Consulate in London. You can stay in Peru for up to 90 days. Note that while you won’t need to show a return ticket on arrival, some airlines will require it.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from London to Peru?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from London to Peru.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from London to Peru?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight from London to Peru is likely to change within 7 days, so travellers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from London to Peru?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional return ticket. You could then fly from London to Peru with an airline and back with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from London to Peru?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying from London to Peru up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Top tips for finding a cheap flight from London to Peru

  • While you can fly from London to Peru from all London airports, the majority of flights leave from Heathrow Airport (LHR), making it the most convenient.
  • The easiest and fastest way to get from central London to Heathrow is to catch the Heathrow Express train from Paddington Station, which will take about 15min to get there.
  • You’ll land at Lima J Chavez International Airport (LIM), where you can freshen up with a spa express treatment after your long flight, or grab a bit to eat at more than a dozen food outlets.
  • If you’re travelling with young kids, Heathrow has a Stay & Play facility in the departures area of Terminal 4 just after you’ve passed through security, near to Gates 1-6.
  • You can rest before this long-haul flight in one of the sleep cabins in Terminal 4 for a small fee. These have en-suite showers too.
  • Lima is on the east coast of Peru – to be more centrally located, catch a local connecting flight to Pucallpa, which is more or less in the middle of the country.

LATAM is a great airline who takes care of there guests. They consistently walk around and see if you need water in addition to taking care of all the passengers. The chicken in process is really easy and I’m always offered a chance for an upgrade which I appreciate.

Good check in process Poor information on payments at Lima airport

Apart of Sky miles delta. And they go everywhere in Brazil

On board crew was very good. Crew was friendly, snacks were good, especially the chips. Seats seemed a bit cramped. Boarding seemed unorganized, as we were instructed to get to the gate an hour early and then just stood around until boarding.

We were not allowed to carry a bottle of water onto the 8 hour flight.

Comfort in exit seat was excellent. FLight crew and flight were excellent. However exit seat tray table was broken so could not use it. Entertainment monitor did not work at all despite attempts to reset it.

LATAM’s crews are fine, but God help you if you need any customer service. Their app and website never work, with error after error. Trying to solve anything over the phone is painful, and lastly, the boarding pass LATAM gave me to board the flight with Delta was invalid and I had to purchase an emergency one-way ticket at the last minute to get home.

I booked a flight through Kayak to Brazil I have traveled to Brazil several times before Kayak Delta or LATAM never mentioned during the booking or in the pre flight process that the visa requirements to visit Brazil have changed earlier this year. I was unaware of this change and as such never got a visa and was unable to fly from JFK to Sao Paulo Add to this that Delta allowed me to fly from Boston to JFK which they should not have as I didn’t have a visa. It has been a terrible experience and a huge loss of money

Wish the seats were a little more comfortable.. it was a 6 hrs nonstop trip. But the crew was courteous and w a smile

I like this airline a lot no problems at all, except being forced to check a carry-on bag ., Overall very good airline

Seating and zone. The minor I went with didn’t even seat close to me

My seat 3G did not go down fully and the buttons were not working properly

Food has been disappointing in both legs of flight to india

Great staff great experience, made a 2 hour delay very bearable

Great staff, great experience, made a 2 hour delay very bearable

Food was the worst I’ve had on a VA flight. Normally it’s a lot better

I was my pleasure to fly virgin on my birthday for my first solo trip ever 🫶🏼

These are one of the older seat arrangements facing away from the windows! Not particularly convenient sets. No storage spaces. NO COAT HANGING HOOKS. Inconvenient business class seat compared to any other airlines of similar class. Staff are excellent! Extremely professional, friendly. Food is good too.

Overall, flight was excellent but check in was very slow for Premium Economy. Economy queue was shorter but we weren't allowed to use it.

The staff was not very polite but the flight was very very nice and comfortable and the entertainment was great

In general, I've had excellent experiences with Iberia flights and will continue to use them. In this last flight there were two things that didn't go right. I didn't get the kosher meal I had pre-requested when I had checked in on-line. Things worked out OK as we ended up eating the fish and vegetarian choices, which were really good. The other issue was that some movies for me and my wife started fine but after 8-12 minutes the content just switched to something else. The flight attendant reset our entertainment systems, but the problem persisted. We ended up choosing other movies/TV shows that did work fine.

Good plane, excellent food, crew and entertainment. Seats in business could use an upgrade

We were delayed 2 hours because the crew was late. They need better planning by the crew, we had to sit in uncomfortable seats waiting for them.

Disaster. Downgraded. Zero apology. No effort or coordination between gate and crew. Awful seat blocked by door emergency slide box. Iberia is a mess. App never works. Avoid this airline.

Difficulty to check in online, but well handled at the airport. Flight delay was unfortunate. Crew was adequate but not what we have usually experienced from BA. Seat was not comfortable.

Food was terrible. Going to Italy I gave benefit of the doubt however returning to the USA was no better. Rolls were frozen. Butter was frozen. Quality of entree poor

Flight was OK. Waiting for luggage in Madrid for 55 minutes, unacceptable

This is where i leave an airline review. Test test test!

Check in needed to be in person, not nice. Also I won’t do connections in Charlotte again because you need to go through security again and short connections become a problem

Boarding on the buses isn’t efficient. Overall, it was great.

Cramped seating but standard in all smaller aircrafts today no matter what airlines. Crew very helpful, friendly & attentive so makes up for that.

Wonderful business class flight in a lovely new plane with an excellent crew

OK, except for a cabin attendant's lack of attention.

efficient. on time. cabin crew were very professional and very nice to deal with. would definately fly BA again.

It was great overall. A few slight improvements could be made on the onboarding process at the Gates with announcements and clarity of communications (both at the gate and in flight). The movies in the entertainment options could be improved for bollywood, hollywood.

I alrady responded to this request, and expllaned at length that this was the worst flying experience in my 77 years. I will NEVER fly BA again.

Airbus A350 is poorly designed for wheelchair users and reduced mobility passengers. The angle of the pods makes it awkward to transfer. I was able to but I have ab stability. It could be a real challenge for people with more severe mobility impairments. You'd think Airbus would have come up with a solution for this or thought more about us disabled folks more when designing this aircraft.

The crew has always been great on BA. They are very friendly and accommodating. I like that they have vegetarian options already in the menu. And the free wine is a nice perk.) I noticed (both directions of my trip) minor upgrades/ replacements needed on the plane itself (touch screen didn't work with touch; bathroom light didn't go on). However, this is one of my favorite airlines.

It was not British Air, we were put onto Air Portugal for our London to Lisbon leg.

Everything was spectacular except the boarding. It was just a mob of people while all groups were called over the public address system.

The crew was great! They waited for me as Air Canada flight was delayed by 1:15 hours from Ottawa to Toronto. I am a bit disappointed that we could only use wifi for entertainment but I survived! The only thing I would of liked is a more comfortable seat. The seat cushions are not thick enough for flights longer than 3 hours. Aside from that, everything was great.

Overall, the flight went well and the service was good. However, there was a very frightening moment during landing in Bogotá. Just as the plane was about to touch down, it suddenly went back up into the air. The aircraft was not descending straight and seemed to move left and right, which made the situation feel unstable. This was quite scary. After going back up, the plane circled for about 15 minutes before attempting to land again. Although I understand that safety always comes first and situations like this can happen, it was still a shocking experience for passengers.

The worst experience I've ever had because the "people" @ Avianca wouldn't let me fly because they said I needed a round trip ticket

It was delayed and I lost my connection flight to Cali and I missed my Mom's funeral and avianca lost my check in luggage

It was delayed and I lost my connection flight to Cali and I missed my Mom's funeral

I upgraded to businesses class. Because of that the flight was comfortable.

Boarding was late due to the company’s that cleaned the aircraft (very poorly done) and the catering company. The entertainment system was not working for this six hour flight, uncomfortable seats in business (barely any cushion or recline). The airline staff is very good but the planes are horrible and not well maintained.

Deplaning was a mess, I sat in business (seats are horrible) and the front door had a problem so we had to deplane from the rear exit. The stairs were not tall enough to reach so there was a large step down from the plane to the top of the stairs.

The flight attendant smashed her beverage cart into my knee, causing significant amount of pain. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. No food or drink is offered unless you want to pay the ridiculous prices for it. The schedule of flying in the overnight hours is also very uncomfortable.

I like the crew members they're very friendly. Clean plane. The flight was on time. I dont like the comfort my car seat its better that the plane seats. They charge for everything. This airline was very good. Now it's a low cost airline
