Great crew and flight.

Great crew and flight.

I tried to reschedule the flight due to COVID and I could not get a hold of anyone either through their website or phone or email for days. I could not make the trip on the scheduled days I had booked months prior consequentially I was out a considerable fare. Given today’s difficulty with constant changing of country rules on lockdowns and testing Coupled with a lack of any customer support BA operates more like a scam than an Airline. And to think it was taxpayer money that bailed out these Airlines.

check-in in Manchester even after doing Verifly took over an hour which is ridiculous. 2 members of the check-in staff were not wearing masks and one was wiping her nose with her hand and then handling passports. The flight was late again.

Kayak screwed me on the checked bags: Gave me two free bags on my outbound flight (thanks?), but zero checked bags on inbound. I tried to correct before flight but they were no help. I had one bag to check each way but it cost me $90. Couldn't check in online in advance due to COVID protocols, then British Airways charged me extra surcharge for buying checked baggage allowance at check in. I tried to talk to Kayak before the trip - Couldn't/wouldn't help. Tried to talk to BA at check in - couldn't/wouldn't help. Clerks are not empowered to help anyone anymore. Its all about what the system lets them do. Computers rule us I guess... WTF people.

Its really good trip

Due to the death of my uncle I was unable to take this flight. I called AA repeatedly for 4 hours to tell them I was unable to take flight. I was placed on hold and told I would be called by an agent. By the time the agent from American Airlines called it was 3 min before the flight was due to take off. The agent told me they could not help me and that I needed to contact Kayak regarding booking. I did this straight away but the Kayak agent could not get ahold of AA prior to the flight departing and my entire reservation was cancelled which cancelled my return journey ticket home from London to Los Angeles. The ticket cost $2400 and I tried for 17 days to remedy this issue with kayak.

Pros: "Crew was courteous and friendly."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "No ability to secure seats online despite Aer Lingus stating on line that you can choose seats up to 72 hours prior to the fight. Terrible customer service cramped planes food not great! 72"
Pros: "Good legroom, comfortable seat and great entertainment to keep me occupied for the 10 plus hours."
Cons: "Security at Heathrow -slow!!!"
Pros: "they got me to LA"
Cons: "food and drink not served for 2 h ours / flight delayed 1hr 45 mins, no choice of meal it was a take it or leave it offer, ice lolly served 2 hours after food and horrid snack before landing - on a 10.5 hour flight not good enough, I will consider another airline next time I go. 3 trips a yr"
Cons: "Once again BA lost my luggage from my connecting flight. Twice in a week and a half."
Pros: "Good crew; no more or less better seating than other airlines we have used to the UK."
Pros: "The people from British airways were incredibly helpful."
Cons: "British airways pushed the flight time which made the original connection flight from Heathrow impossible. They notified justfly the company who we used to book the flight and told them the reservation would be cancelled. Only justfly never did something about that. They did not notify us about any changes and when we arrived at the airport the lady at the counter told us we don't have a reservation even though justfly happily took our money. If it weren't for the BA staff who rebooked is through Air France we probably wouldn't have made it."
Cons: "I didnt like the fact that we had to pay for a cup of tea. Surely that should be complimentary."
Cons: "My mother needed assistance with the disable wheelchair and was given one but the staff that was meant to wheel her into the flight abandoned her and she almost missed her flight."
Cons: "Inept staff throughout at Heathrow. Sat on the plane for half an hour while they located someone ‘qualified to open the door’."
Pros: "Champagne and hot face clothes to greet us. Perks of Economy premium were lovely"
Cons: "Quality of movies was not A.+"
Pros: "Nothinh"
Cons: "Flight delayed an hour from NICE and connection at Manchester was badly handled by BA and missed connection. With no refund or hotel or alternate flight offered. Total failure. Am now stuck. And very upset"
Pros: "Arrived early"
Cons: "Arrived pm from manchester stayed in hotel at heathrow to fly out following day to Basel at 8am. BA would not check bag all way through. Seems they only do this at Gatwick. Poor service from Heathrow/BA"
Pros: "Short flight"
Pros: "Not much. Eventually got to where we were going."
Cons: "I can't remember a more cramped and uncomfortable flight. Missed connection on way Paris and we arrived 6 hours late. It took British airways 3 days to get our lost luggage to us. Delayed on way back, adding 4 hours to our trip because the first plane was not "serviceable" and they had to get a replacement. They arbitrarily decide who has to much carry on luggage and force you to check it last minute at the gate while letting others with same size bags take them on the plane. Certainly no better than bargain flights and possibly worse. Why pay extra? No more British Airways for us."
Pros: "Comfortable and clean flight, only 35 minutes."
Cons: "Some movies wouldn't run"
Pros: "New plane. Good leg room. Good service overall."
Pros: "The flight was able to board early and arrive early. Very friendly service, enjoyable flight."
Pros: "As a British citizen living in the US, I have always rated the quality of the service BA has given"
Cons: "Flight was delayed from Manchester to Heathrow by 30mins. OK understandable. On arrival to Heathrow we sat on the tarmac for an hour and a half as apparently there was not enough staff to connect the plane to the gate. The computers to tell us where our connecting flights were down so they could not tell us which gate to go to. When we finally disembarked, I was not allowed to my gate despite it being in the same terminal and having 40 mins to go.I was directed to a BA desk to get another flight. After 15mins waiting here the staff were rude and announced they would be closing. I finally was directed to departures to be told the only option was the same time tomorrow."
Pros: "The website would not allow me to enter my passport details as I have PR status. As a result I could not select a seat of choice. it would be much better if PR details could be added when passport info is not accepted. The flight was fine"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "- bad airplane - cramped - bad food and not even available on all legs"
Pros: "I was traveling by British airways flight BA271 on 13 December 2017. The plane is old but comfortable. I was looking for USB pots I can't find it. Helpful crew and flight comfortable and landing was perfect. British always need to improve. Thanks"
Cons: "Flight was too long to reach Las Vegas"
Pros: "Attention"
Pros: "This flight did not get me to my Austin flight"
Cons: "Late"
Pros: "Bigger plane than I was expecting. Had I known that I would have upgraded to a better seat. I was just expecting a tiny puddle jumper so this was a nice surprise. Crew were nice, offered food/drinks but I didn't want to buy any."
Cons: "The plane had inseat screens but they said that licensing agreements prevented them from offering any video, games or news selections on a 2.5hr flight. The Pilot said he would turn on the in-flight navigator but it never did work, so I'm not sure what happened there. No internet connection in their fleet yet either. Clearly, this is a first world problem and I would still fly BA. But it's also 2017 and these features aren't "new"; I remember having in-flight entertainment back in the early 2000's on Delta flights in the US, so I'm not sure why it's taking more premium airlines so long to catch up."
Pros: "British Airways rescheduled our flights. The BA website was easy to find out how to claim additional costs incurred from the rescheduled flight."
Cons: "The flight was rescheduled within 18 hours of departure. We were in Spain on vacation which meant attempting to figure out how to get home with Iberia at the Madrid airport, who helped but was super agitated with us the entire time. When we asked for advice on how to proceed, as this has never happened to us before, they just kept telling us it was British Airways fault and that they had no answers for us. This took about two hours plus an additional hour back at the hotel to cancel our reservations in London and figure out how we were going to get reimbursed for the extra night at the hotel and additional costs. It would've been nice to get all of this information in an email, with the new ticket and instructions on how to claim the extra costs instead of us running around and taking time out of our vacation."
Pros: "My flight from Manchester was delayed so I missed my direct flight to bahrain and change of flight to deferent distantion other than my original and arrived to Bahrain next day"
Pros: "Flight on time, good crew."
Cons: "Legroom in Club Europe is poor, seating in the front rows should not have been densified so much."
Cons: "Leg room/space BA offers is calculated for short and small body frame passengers and it is on not acceptable. It feels like cattle Wagon. BA should show consideration for real passengers not some sort of statistical average. I am 6'4" and sitting in your plane's cabin inflicts hours of body pain. The space given is sufficient for children and teenagers. Also sitting in the hot cabin for extended amount of time is extremely uncomfortable. Why there is no cooling and proper air ventilation right from the beginning?"
Cons: "The check-in personnel refused to allow us to check bags until 90 minutes before the flight, then delayed that time three more times. This caused a real scene with nearly one hundred people standing around the check-in counter waiting to put their bags on the conveyor belts. The flight, which was delayed multiple times--once due to the ground personnel at Orly not turning in the paperwork for the flight--eventually took off, but the cabin crew seemed confused the whole time. We asked for Landing Cards, but they told us we did not need them, when in fact we did. That extra delay at immigration caused us to miss our connecting flight! Since half of the plane was connecting in Heathrow, why didn't the crew suggest that those staying in London wait on the plane until the connectors had a chance to disembark?"
Pros: "I require a wheelchair for getting around the airport. When I first checked in at LHR, they claimed to have no record of my wheelchair request and my seat change, despite my very clear notations of who and when these were made. They did have a record of my paying for one suitcase. The agent at LHR promised to make these corrections so I would not have the same problem when returning to London. Furthermore, to turn this into a humiliating situation, at the gate I was informed that the jetway was broken and they would have to find some other way to get me onboard the plane. I cannot believe that British Airways has no contingency plan for a situation like mine. After many discussions between BA reps and ground crewmen they decided to bring me down in a lift at Gate 34, though my plane was at Gate 32. I was then loaded onto the freight platform of one of those food delivery trucks and driven over to my plane. The truck backed into place and again I hoisted up to the plane. However the plane door was locked and we had to bang on it for them to finally open it. To my great embarrassment I helped down the aisle to my assigned seat, looking back at the curious looks and glares from all those passengers who had no explanation for the delay and humiliating scene. Officially the flight was listed at 28 minutes late, when in reality it was 40 minutes till we taxied away from the gate My return flight from Brussels was little better because the changes that were supposed to have been entered at LHR never were and so I had to go through this whole routine again costing me over one hour in delays. Fortunately I was able to board the flight through the jetway and did not have to be hoisted up again, and delivered like freight. How would you rate these flights. I had problems with every single British Airways flight!!"
Pros: "This short flight had no food. I guess that is acceptable"
Cons: "I was hungry but there was nothing to eat"
Pros: "The flight was on time. The wheelchair I had ordered was also on time and handled well. There was a wheelchair waiting for me when I got off the plane and someone helped with our luggage."
Cons: "I paid two pounds for a cup of tea that was not very hot. I couldn't use money and as my credit and debit cards were visa, the machine would not accept them. I think that giving your customers a.free drink would not break the company!"
Cons: "No complaints"
Cons: "We arrived at the airport more than 2 hours in advance since this was an international flight. There was NO British Airways staff available to help with obtaining actual boarding passes which were NOT available on the BA mobile app. Although we made the flight with enough time, that was only because the security line was short and the passport control line was short as well. British Airways should have staff available to process passengers and boarding passes, luggage checkin, etc. earlier for their flights."
Pros: "OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS MADE DIFFICULT AT BEST"
Cons: "INITIAL FLIGHT TO LONDON CANCELLED ONLY HOURS BEFORE FLIGHT...MANCHESTER FLIGHT WAS LATE TO HEATHROW WAS LATE,THEREFORE MISSED FLIGHT TO L.A. AND HAD TO STAY IN LONDON...LASTLY,I HAD UPGRADED MY SEATS TO MAKE MAKES WIFE'S FIRST OVERSEAS TRIP COMFORTABLE....WE WERE SEATED IN BACK OF PLANE...WILL REQUEST MY SEAT MONEY FOR ROUND TRIP BACK..."
Cons: "No seats in gate area. Had to line up in the hall. Manchester terminal 3 is a dump."
Pros: "Pleasant efficient staff. Flight on time"
Pros: "I liked the demeanor of the crew that I interacted with and I appreciated the updates from the pilot since we were delayed into London and I had a quick connection."
Cons: "The breakfast option ran out by the time the crew got to me in the middle of the plane. The delay was nerve-wracking with the very close connection to my international flight."
Pros: "nothing the plane got delayed four times with no warning and then got cancelled when we all got lined up at the gate for the plane (we stood in line for 15 MINUTES BEFORE ANYONE TOLD US SHIT)"
Cons: "I didn't like that the plane got cancelled after hours of sitting in the airport, I didn't like the lack of communication between British airways staff and (would be) passengers, I didn't like that it would've taken me literally three hours to speak to a representative, and I am going to get a refund. I ended up taking an 80 pound train to London that took two and a half hours, and I expect the airway to pay for that too. This was bullshit and I hate this shirt air line."
Pros: "Service was fine, the plane was full but it was a pleasant flight."
Cons: "The flight was delayed, the gate was not announced at the airport n London until 15 min before departure which was irritating. This flight was delayed and my checked in luggage did not make it to my destination. Hope to get it sometime tomorrow (a bit inconvenient but it happens)"
Pros: "The crew were ok, nothing really to comment on bad or good."
Cons: "The boarding area was just a corridor. The seats are cramped and uncomfortable. At check in there were not nearly enough staff to handle the volume of customers checking in."
Cons: "The plane was all ready to go, but it had no fuel. We were delayed by 30+ minutes while they found someone to fuel it up, and then it took forever to take off. I almost missed my connection in Heathrow and my bad didn't make it!"
