Cons: "Our original flight was cancelled due to WestJet reasons (plane was not safe to fly) the following evening the flight was supposed to depart at 7pm we didn’t take off until 10:37 pm causing an arrival of 940AM into London instead of 7:23AM primarily because the crew they chose for this new flight was coming from Montreal so we had to wait for them to arrive."

Cons: "On an 8 hour flight there’s no complimentary meal. I paid for a meal and it was worse than free plane food and starved for the rest of the trip. The chairs were horribly uncomfortable with no lower back support and we were not even given pillows and blankets. There was also no free entertainment. I rented a tablet and had it taken away an hour before landing while I was in the middle of a movie. I might have been ok with that if the flight attendant had politely asked for it back rather than rudely waving and pointing while I stared at her blankly trying to figure out what she wanted. Next time I’ll pay a bit more for an airline that respects its passengers and our comfort."

The best line was, "Our plane will be landed an hour earlier! But because London doesn't like it when we land early, we're going to wait here for a while on the tarmac so we make it there on time.""

I have flown on many airlines, but these planes were by far the worst. Cheap price, for a reason. The seats didn’t recline, the food was terrible, no options were given for food, and the movies were pre-picked. No one had a choice in what they watched. Very outdated. I had 2.5 hours to board my connecting flight and they caused me to miss it. As I waited in the customs line entering Lisbon, I asked a TAP representative if I’d have to get out of the line up and go right through as my flight left at 2:10 pm. They said you will make it, stay in line. I get near the front of the line 2 hours later... hundreds of people were in this line and they only had 2/10 customs agents available!!! I ask another representative how far my gate is since my flight leaves in 30 min and she told me “no you missed it. but don’t worry others will be missing it too”. So no I did not miss it, you caused me to miss it cause I already asked if I would and you people told me no. I run to the gate, which has now changed to the other end of the airport, so I run to that gate and it is 10 min before the flight is to take off. I ask the desk agent at the gate and he tells me the flight has already left. Others had missed it too due to the insane customs line up. So the plane left 20 mins earlier than scheduled with only half it’s passengers..... unbelievable!!! When I went to the service desk they did not show any sympathy or apologetic behaviours whatsoever."

We had a connecting flight to AMS with also TAP and had a two hour window to make the next flight with the same company (TAP). We were in line for passport and then security and talked to several TAP employees and they said we would be have time and wouldn't have a problem catching the second flight. Well, we got through the lines with 30 min before our next flight and they wouldn't let us on. Customer service and organization of the airline is really poor. The aircraft had minimal room and no entertainment. We got on our next flight five hours later and all they gave us was a $10 food voucher. So poorly managed."

She was wrong. French customs wanted to see the merchandise which we no longer had. When we complained at TAP we were told do it in Lisbon. Again in Lisbon we could not get the D tax because that custom agent wanted to see the merchandise which was being transferred to our Lisbon - Newark flight. We loss refunds of over $400. This problem ruined a perfect trip."

Cons: "Where do i start? The seats are so narrow! My husband sat near the window where he ended up putting up the arm rest and sharing my seat with me. And of course the man next to me took just as much space so here I am in the middle squished between 2 big men, extremely uncomfortable for 8 straight hours. Obviously couldnot sleep due to the lack of space. They also didn't provide tv on any of the seats! What were we supposed to do for 8 hour? MISERABLE FLIGHT TO AND FROM AMSTERDAM!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN. THE crew was snobby to so don't bother asking for anything extra. You'll get all attitude."
Cons: "Flight was delayed 12 hours. They didn't offer hotel rooms so we had to sleep on the floor of the airport (hundreds of passengers, including elderly and children). No communication. One person managing multiple delays, so rarely anyone at the desk to answer questions. Appalling."
Pros: "I liked the legroom even though we had a regular seat. We sat 2x2 seating and were very pleased. Some staff were nice. The price was a good deal. So it boils down to having mediocre for a bargain or nicer accommodations for more pricey fares. My husband thought it was very good though."
Cons: "Food was awful. Service for food and drinks took way too long. Why give food 20 minutes before you are giving a beverage? I have always had drink service prior to food. I did not understand this. Breakfast was a piece of "carrot cake" that looked like was picked up from the local jail in Toronto. Really my only complaint. Flight was bumby but not anyone's fault other than Mother Nature. Water in bathroom stopped working halfway through flight. Seats were not comfy as other airlines. My butt got numb somewhere around Greenland."
Pros: "Boarding the plane was well organised."
Cons: "We boarded in time to fly at 10:05pm, however 7 passengers didn't turn up until almost 11pm. We weren't offered any snacks or drinks whilst waiting. Our 7 year old son spent most of this time desperate for the toilet but we weren't allowed. We all just wanted to go to sleep after a long day, I wanted to get to sleep because I faced 4 hours drive home after landing in London. We were served food and drinks at around midnight... I was asleep and was woken by a stewardess shouting "Would you like a drink" (not sure if she was speaking to me - but to be honest on a night flight I expected the aircrew to be a little more tactful). The cabin lights were eventually dimmed at about 1:30 for perhaps a couple of hours, when they were turned back on and we were served a slice of carrot cake for breakfast. The whole trip felt very bizarre, the opposite of the outbound trip where everything felt very special. After landing we retrieved our luggage only to find our cases were badly damaged, we've traveled with the same cases for the last five weeks during which time they have survived without a scratch."
Cons: "The cabin was blazing hot and stuffy for the whole trip. The cabin crew for the most part struggled with faking the whole "nice and pleasant" part of their job. Really made you feel like you inconvenienced them if you ask them a question..... I only asked one, "what are the food options?" I didn't have a measuring tap to prove it, but the seats definitely felt tighter than most aircraft, and were very uncomfortable. I never have difficulty sleeping on a flight, even a Ryanair flight, but I along with half the cabin could not get comfortable enough to nod off on this flight. It was reassuring that I wasn't being overly picky when I saw half the cabin going through the same discomfort as me. Food was even worse than the usually bowel clogging garbage that you usually get elsewhere. All in all, if you are saving $400-500 flying with these guys might be worth the trip for you......do not penny pince and fly with them if the are $200 cheaper, absolutely not worth it. As for me I travel too much, and life is too short to have to put myself through that again."

Cons: "It's time to update the cabin to have displays in the seats on all planes. Streaming entertainment is ok with the app a we used but then you should be able to charge your devices to very least - no jacks on board the A 310 and this on an intercontinental flight and no note to have the decices fully charged before the flight."
Pros: "Checkin attendant set us up on our own bench given the flight wasn't full. Much appreciated rather than playing games with premiums. Nice, new aircraft. Good basic flight services, though the meals were nothing fancy."
Cons: "No pillows available, and blankets for purchase. Airline certainly didn't go to any lengths to facilitate passenger comfort on an international overnight flight. Flight schedule was also kind of weird. Turned the lights on 2.5 hours out from destination for a pass-out-packaged-biscuit meal service. Was not a restful flight"

Cons: "So many of the movies had english subtitles which I didn't appreciate as It was an overnight flight and I was tired after the flight from Vancouver to Toronto and a 4 hour lay over."

Cons: "The flight attendants were very loud throughout the flight. We expected and overnight flight would be calm, quiet, and with lights lowered. It wasn't at all that way. The overhead lights were on the majority of the flight and it seemed like the flight attendants were always making rounds and loudly talking. We expected to sleep but due to all the noise and commotion were not able to do so. Also, the seats are so tiny it is hard to be comfortable on such a long flight."
Pros: "The overall experience was so bad, that it is hard to think of anything positive.....oh, one thing. The beer they originally served me was room temperature and the kind stewardess went out of her way to get me a cold one."
Cons: "First off there was a 3 hour delay in the terminal at YYZ. Once on board, we sat at the gate for another hour (4 hour delay in total). Finally worst of all, since they are a "discount" airline, they fit in 9 seats per row as opposed to the usual 8 in an airbus 330, and I am sure more rows as well. (3x3x3 vs 2x4x2) I have never been so uncomfortable on a flight in my life, and I had an aisle seat! The guy next to me was an elderly, portly Portuguese man, and because the seats are so narrow, he was spilling over into my seat (no fault of his own). Neither of us could nap And the fare was not particularly cheap at $580 one way. It was truly horrible. I arrived exhausted and am still recovering from jet lag"
Cons: "The plane was hot due to an AC issue that delayed the flight for almost two hours, and then continued to be hot throughout the duration of the flight. The crew was rude and not very accommodating. The in-flight entertainment and food service was not up to date and sub-par. There is little that could motivate me to fly Air Transat again."
