Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "On time"
Pros: "There was a special needs boy that sat behind me and he had some issues (long flight, understandable) and the crew were AMAZING with him. Not everyone has common or even human decency. These people were rad, and it was lovely to see."
Cons: "We went to Gatwick(75.00 Uber) to reschedule in person and we were told there were no refunds and if we wanted to change it would be 250 pounds. It is my wife’s and my 35 year anniversary and this wants a mood dampener"
Pros: "Pilot was friendly and addressed the crew and passengers multiple times with updates."
Pros: "Nothing really"
Cons: "Politeness during check-in, timeliness in providing gate information, having a person at the BA desk to help, being on time"
Pros: "For the most part the people and workers were very nice"
Cons: "Couldn’t add baggage with the ticket bought online. Once I did it cost $100 to add 1 bag. Checking in process was the worst, as many kiosks didn’t work and the software seemed buggy."
Cons: "Constantly late! Unreliable and missed my connecting flight, AGAIN!!! 4 out of last 10 flights I have had lost luggage. No apology, it’s “just BA”."
Pros: "BAc- great brand and very professional."
Cons: "Nothing for me"
Pros: "Fab flight in every way"
Cons: "Transit time should be calculated reasonably."
Pros: "Flight screens showed info"
Cons: "Bring back free food ba"
Pros: "Polite, friendly staff."
Cons: "A 2-hour layover was too short. We experienced crazy long lines for: the bus between terminals, immigration passport review; passport review before the metal detector, and detailed tests on permitted volumes of shampo, and toothpaste. The agent forced me to check a normally permitted carryon bag, then the bags took 45 minutes to be placed on the turnstile after the flight. Not an efficient airport."
Pros: "This is a no frills BA flight, but I'd rather do fly with BA than the other options. You have to pay for food and drink, the quality of crew far exceeds the usual low cost dross."
Cons: "Nothing for the price. Although my preference would be BA via London City."
Cons: "The connection was not good too little time between flights also the American Airlines desk was hidden. We had to get boarding passes at the exit gate. There should have been a rep to guide passengers to desk."
Pros: "Quickness of flight."
Cons: "Came round collecting cups etc within minutes of being served. No sky shop. And I was sitting in 3rd row (by choice) but didn't know I would have a curtain inches from my face for most of the journey."
Cons: "One piece of luggage was left at Heathrow. It arrived on the next flight so it turned out ok but was stressful for an hour."
Pros: "Good for leg room and nice and the seats are comfy and wide too. Still get a free drink and snack on this flight and the service was friendly and efficient throughout. We were very quick to board and flight landed early, so very happy."
Cons: "I'm guessing this plane was stopping in EDI for the night, so it parked way, way away from the terminal, so we had an extra 15 minutes none of us had been expecting to wait for the bus and transfer."
Pros: "The seat was fine. the flight was as expected."
Cons: "expectation that one will fly with only one carry-on bag and not receive any food or beverage during the flight. industry trend is ridiculous ..."
Pros: "Much quieter than Heathrow so a more relaxed environment to travel. Flight left slightly late but made up time and landed ahead of schedule."
Cons: "Having to pay for a cup of tea. No issue with BA charging for alcolhol in a 1 hour flight but still think drinks like tea/coffee should be provided free."
Pros: "Crew was mostly kind and helpful. My bags arrived at their final destination."
Cons: "I was told that I had to check my bag because it would not fit in the overhead bin. When I got on the plane I found that the overhead bins were ample sized for my hiking pack. I know that British Airways has a policy regarding bags in overhead bins that basically says 'if you cannot lift your bag into the overhead bin un-assisted, you must check your bag.' My husband and I are both experienced hikers, we lifted our packs unassisted on the last plane, yet they forced us to check our bags. I'm glad our bags made it to the UK, but this is literally the first time I've checked a bag and had it arrive. Also, the boarding passes sent to me on my phone were rejected by almost every security/boarding check. This is after BA supposedly fixed their error with the previous boarding passes. Overall not pleased with the experience but glad I paid under $300 for my ticket."
Cons: "Everything was sub par with BA. We upgraded to world traveler plus and the seats were old, there was trash from the previous flight and the tv screens were from 1995. The movies are only on loop so when you take off and are finally allowed to turn on the tv, the movies are 25 minutes in. All around a waste of money. Will never fly BA AGAIN!!"
Pros: "Staff and Crew amazing and very friendly on this trip"
Cons: "Nothing negative to report best flight for some time"
Cons: "As requested checked my bag in and it took an absolute age to get my bag in Edinburgh. I ordered a toastie it was lukewarm"
Pros: "Amazing service in club Europe"
Cons: "Nothing to say"
Pros: "Cabin crew"
Cons: "Boarded on a bus"
Pros: "Last minute flight (booked 4 hours before departure), one way, economy, for €99 from Amsterdam to Edinburgh via Gatwick. Long layover at Gatwick (around 3 hours), but I had much work to do anyway, so time went faster than I realised. Not sure if this was the case at Schiphol, but at Gatwick had priority security queue as a BA customer."
Cons: "Overpriced and outperformed by the Budget Airlines."
Cons: "could not even get water to drink without purchasing"
Pros: "The best ever and a flew crew that understands hospital."
Cons: "Movies were second rate"
Pros: "Even on a short flight, you can feel a difference with the crew. This one was very good."
Cons: "security in Heathrow was AWFUL. There was only ONE person working to screen luggage AND check luggage that was questionable. There wee 15 people waiting for luggage who almost missed their connections. I sprinted through the airport and made my connection with 2 minutes to spare."
Cons: "No hay entretenimiento"
Pros: "Everything was great"
Pros: "It left on time."
Cons: "It was American airlines not BA. British airways never sent our bags on our flight leaving Gatwick. We got our luggage 2 days later."
Pros: "Luggage delayed."
Pros: "Was not made aware of baggage policy. Their regular policy allows one checked baggage but not our ticket. Was not prompted when doing online check in and led to me paying almost 200 pounds for luggage. Just ridiculous!"
Cons: "Baggage policy not clear - good way to force customers to pay more and help their revenue!"
Pros: "Boarding was straight forward with the automated scanning of boarding pass."
Cons: "I was totally taken aback that I had to pay for tea and coffee. After having to pay for baggage and to reserve my seat for the flight. At least beverages could have been offered at no additional cost. Very disappointed with BA."
Pros: "The 1 hr flight"
Cons: "They charged 3.50£ for tea"
Pros: "Comfort of plane"
Cons: "No indication given of delay. kayak knew before ground staff. On arrival parked at cargo terminal and had to get bus. Then stuck on bus for 10 minutes as could not get terminal fooors open. They turned heating up at full blast with no air. Surprised nobody passed out"
Pros: "I was travelling alone with a baby and a toddler and found most of the staff very helpful - stowing my bags, helping to carry my buggy, helping with seat belts etc."
Cons: "A member of staff at the gate referred to my 2 year old daughter as "a difficult child" to another member of staff because she didn't like having her photo taken. I felt it was very rude and unfair, particularly as I had to lift her to an awkward height (whilst also holding a baby) as the camera was in a fixed position. It was clear the staff member didn't have children herself!"
Pros: "I received an email cancelling the flight before I left home."
Cons: "Last minute cancellation of the flight by BA meant I was unable to attend the event I was booked on. Have found service has definitely declined on recent BA flights I've travelled on. Check in staff are good though."
Cons: "I arrived about 45 mins before the departure time and they refused to let my 85 year old sick dad in a wheel chair board. They did not assist him in rebooking and we had to sleep in the airport to catch an Easy jet in the morning as all hotels were fully booked. This is about the worst service I have ever encountered and I would like a full refund Thanks Charles"
Pros: "The seats were comfortable and the crew helpful."
Cons: "More than an hour late in taking off, and the food is almost inedible - get the Air Canada chef on board!"
Pros: "Slept most of the way. Cabin looked new, so that was nice."
Cons: "Having to gate check my bag even though it fit in the overhead bin."
Cons: "Did not like that I thought it was a BA flight but was really a EI flight , which means I had to get a boarding pass but I was sure was on BA and almost went to there booking counter to get boarding pass."
Pros: "Nothing. At. All."
Cons: "This was a nightmare. BA had no flights available to Edinburgh. Booked on 3 separate flights at 2 different airports. Last one was canceled outright. After being awake for 28 hours and traveling for 15, we finally were given a hotel room for the night in London. Still trying to get to Edinburgh."
Cons: "Couldn't say as the flight was cancelled on arrival in LHR. Took 5hrs and 8 seperate question to discover what was going on and to be offered a flight to Glasgow as an alternative. The flight to Glasgow also took of late arriving at 2310 local. Europecar were great hired a Mercedes E220 with a gps to complete the journey to Edinburgh, at a cost of 600GBP for 3 1/2 days including fuel. Arrived 8hrs late, seriously affecting sleep patterns and ruining an already tight schedule. BA could have met us exiting ac from LAS in T5 explained situation, new boarding cards etc, total fail, should have booked flight with Lufthansa to EDI via Frankfurt for 600USD less. BA Staff comments such as " I'm sorry I haven't been trained for this situation, I can't help you after 40 minutes" etc Total lack of staff available and able to assist, super poor knowledge, massive queues not moving."
Cons: "BA is the national flag carrier, operating from the newest terminal at the country's top airport. You would think that they could manage, in the 21st century, to get us to our flight on time, using an airbridge instead of 30 year old buses. Said buses were also too few in number so boarding took the thick end of 40 minutes as they shuttled back and forth. BA are a complete and utter joke. There is no excuse for this level of penny-pinching inadequacy."
Pros: "Great crew, gently made sure we had our masks on."
Cons: "Boarded some passengers very early and had to wait on bus and plane for other passengers who boarded at normal time."
Pros: "The plane was already delayed they didnt notify us and when they posted the time on the board, we went 15 mins before the take off and they didnt let us on the plane"
Pros: "Nothing I like!"
Cons: "No free food or at least water. You need to pay for everything. High air fare, No seat LCD TV, No wifi. Worst airline ever"
Pros: "The positive crew!"
Cons: "Hire more crews like this!"
Pros: "Helpful crew. Clean modern plane"
Cons: "Charging $ for everything, wouldn't fill a water bottle for me. Strict carry on policy was too restrictive"
Cons: "Easyjet seats are way better. Limiting the hand (cabin) luggage to 10kg and actually weighting it is ridiculous."
Pros: "I’m so thrilled at Transavia’s expansion to new routes like Beirut. This is the second time I traveled to Beirut since November and I noted a marked improvement in the quality of service on the ground."
Cons: "It’s still a discount airline trying to squeeze money anyway they can."
Pros: "Crew is very nice and friendly"
Cons: "Not enough legroom"
Pros: "Friendly staff, clean olane."
Cons: "Going back and forth to pay for extra luggage."
Pros: "Professional and efficient, everything one could have hoped for."
Pros: "Nothing...it was ridiculous"
Cons: "No kiosks? No online check in? Seats were vinyl and terrible, and the plane was hot. It took us over 2 hours to check in"
Pros: "New plane, comfortable and the staff is nice"
Cons: "Even a small plastic bag with McDonald's in it is considered a hand luggage! The staff need to be in more control of the travelers - we had one & a half hours delay because a traveller wanted to change seats and didn't sit down."
Pros: "Seats were more comfortable than I expected."
Cons: "It would have been better to have 2 carry ons. Even a bag of snacks was considered a carry on and i had to put it and my purse in my backpack."
Cons: "Our plane was delayed an hour and then when we landed well after midnight our bag came off the plane with a broken shoulder strap. Will not fly again."
Cons: "Wpuld be helpful to be able to put the online boarding pass in iPhone “wallet."
Pros: "Inexpensive fares are worth something. Where else can you fly half way across the EU for 150 euro? The crew was cheerful and helpful. Website, phone app and email reminders are great."
Cons: "You do pay alacarte for everything. And service suffers in the name of low price. Checked bags, drinks and food. Be prepared to walk or stand everywhere, baggage check-in at Orly is in the basement and the last areas 132. The gates are the last gates in the south terminal. And when you get to the gate boarding is done enmasss so you wait in line. But the fares are cheap."
Cons: "bad seats. too narow"
Pros: "The crew was so nice and genuinely kind."
Cons: "We loved it all."
Pros: "Friendly staff. Passanger leg room is ok. Very reasonably priced food and drinks. No serious delays."
Pros: "We had arrived to destination in somehow safe condition"
Cons: "- Will charge you for anything... extra kg (or less) - charge! Water for 5 hours flight? - Charge! - They ruined my suitcase and won't pay for it - Drunk people making mess on the plane and throw-up on your cloths? Your problem. To conclude, flight with many low cost, but never had that bad experience before."
Pros: "As expected"
Pros: "weather cancellation...very accomadating"
Pros: "Excellent price with good crew and good equipment"
Pros: "Unexplained lateness and slow boarding process but otherwise good flight"
Pros: "Comfortable seating and pricing"
Cons: "There was nothing I didn’t like. All was as I had expected"
Cons: "Waiting for suitcases"
Pros: "We were disappointed that there were no kosher food options for purchase on flights in and out if Israel. This would be a welcome addition to your service."
Pros: "This is the second time in a short period of time I flew Transavia from MUC to DUB and the plane had 1 hour 45 minutes delay due to "technical problems". Moreover I wasn't informed at check- in although the fact was known by then as mentioned on the departure board!!! I prob won't book anymore Transavia flights"
Pros: "Didn't like noting"
Pros: "The crew were friendly and helpful."
Cons: "The planes are older and lack the amenities of the larger airlines. You have to purchase food and drinks. No USB ports or inflight entertainment. Seats where old shows wear and there was still trash from previous passengers in the seat pocket and a empty soda can rolling around under our seat."
Pros: "All of it"
Cons: "No room for long legs, reclinable seat in front of me"
Cons: "I don't understand why it took them around 15 min to check in each person. This was the most terrible check in I have ever experienced. One other staff member actually had to take over for one man doing check in because he was so slow. The flight ended up being almost an hour delayed. After this, they didn't even offer people free water. I have flown with low cost airlines all over the world and this was by far the worst."
Pros: "Excellent choice of food"
Pros: "On time, quick boarding process, comfortable flight (seats and flying/landing style), price was right."
Cons: "Having to pay for luggage. I'd rather have it included in ticket price."
Pros: "Nothing good about it."
Cons: "They put us in a Transavia plane from Barcelona to Amsterdam, we were on a line at five am for two and a half hours to check in. That was terrible. At the end the clerck was so stress out, that she did not write our connection flight number correct, so we did not get our luggage until the next day."
Pros: "Agents at the check in counter in Lisbon"
Cons: "Green seats"
Pros: "Crew was friendly"
Cons: "Flight was 1 hour late departing"
Pros: "Once we figured it put, fast check in. Small airport, lots of construction."
Cons: "Poor directions at airport, messy boarding on busses"
Pros: "Prompt and on time"
Cons: "Airplane too small"
Cons: "I didnt get a receipt. It said 5 Euros on my receipt"
Pros: "Crew was nice and friendly. Quick boarding"
Cons: "No Free drinks. 2.50€ for a soda."
Pros: "I got one of my suitcases destroid during the flight."
Cons: "Misrepresented dates on the booking page. Tried to cancel immediately no help from kayak staff. Had to contact 3rd party agency and airline. No luck with refund. Have to work with bank to try and contest transaction."
Pros: "For the price I wasn't sure what I might get, but the flight was pleasant. Staff wasn't the best but ......"
Pros: "The crew was great"
Cons: "1. Did not embark on time 2. Didn't took off on time 3. It is expected to a least have free charge water"
Cons: "Bad seats. Charging 40 euro about 1 bag. No water . No credit card payments abikity on check in point. I give you rate of 1 in a scale of 1 to 10."
Pros: "I liked the fact that my flight was only 2 hours. Other than that it was miserable."
Cons: "The flight attendants were extremely rude. They wouldn't let me bring the bottle of water I purchased at the gate onto the plane because they wanted to make money by selling drinks. I completely understand that but when I asked for water (just regular water) one flight attendant told me it would be 3 euros. I told her I didn't have any cash on me because I had used it to pay for the water that I bought at the gate that they wouldn't let me bring on. She said "Oh well. Guess you're out of luck." She was rude, hateful and such a disruptive part of my flight. I would NEVER fly Transavia again!!"
