Pros: "The staff was communicative and genuine. The food was decent. Even though the flight arrived late I felt ok about it due to the direct communication of details about the situation. I was stuck in the extremely cramped space of seats just in front of the lavatory making the seat in front me 5 inches from my nose when reclined but the staff was sympathetic offering to ask the passenger in front of me to redress their seat more upright and also allowing me to spread out across two seats to compensate."
Cons: "While the staff compensated for the more than standardly cramped seating arrangement, I think the row of seats just in front of the lavatories should be either better designed or designated not usable. I am only 5’3” and 125lbs but still was faced with a mere 5 inches in front of me when the passenger in front of me reclined his seat. I couldn’t even stand in order to exit the row and had to crawl over the seats to my side. This had me thinking how dangerous this row could be in case of an emergency. Please consider designating these seats either not to be used or optional for passengers."

Frequent offers of beverages and water throughout the flight from Munich to EWR, hot towels. Nice! I was not able to choose my seats until check-in, 24 hours before flight time. Of course if I wanted to pay extra (would have amounted to $60 for two flights for each passenger) I could have. Representatives at check in in Athens, were indifferent and not very pleasant."

After booking the ticket, I didn’t say we have to check in 2 hours prior to not to get charged at the airport. When we stand at the encounter, everyone in line didn’t know this and had to turn around to get in the different line to pay for checking in. After that, we had to get back in a long line and the lady didn’t mentioned that she can check in our luggage’s. With that being said, we had to go back to other encounter to pay for checked in luggage. We paid almost $200 for checking in and luggage. How stupid is that? We and other customers in line all said we felt it’s the rip off. We come to Ireland for vacation and expected it would be welcome and nice. This turned us off. Never fly with this airlines again. Thumbs down!!!"

We didn't think anything of it until we got to airport to find that we didn't show checked in, had to pay EXTRA to have our boarding passes printed off, and had to pay for EACH of our bags as well!! OH! And it's almost DOUBLE if you pay for it at the airport where you can weigh it then if you do it online! And take caution! Our bags that are considered carry on size are still too big for this airline do you will forced to check Them! This is obviously how they offset their inexpensive tickets! The cost of the ticket, once you add in all the other unexpected expenses in order to actually get on the flight, was NOT worth the "cheap" tickets we got! That's the only reason we decided to fly to Ireland while on our trip to the U.K. Had we known it would cost this much we never would have come to Ireland for two days!!"
Pros: "I arrived safely without a scratch. The entire crew were very nice. Things were clean. There were no screens for the addicted. I got some sleep before the announcements and sales kicked in on the short flight."
Cons: "Gate was changed after initial assignment. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't sat almost in front of the counter and overheard a customer there saying my flight. I asked someone even closer to the counter if that's the gate, and was told no. There aren't even display boards at the counter so you really have to check. The right gate ended up on the opposite end of the airport, so I wasted a trip and a half, in a way. The previous flight was late, so we boarded half an hour late. We were warned to wait another half an hour on the tarmac but luckily got out in less than half that time. There was no liquid soap in the toilet. I unscrewed the bottle (they really save money and the environment there), put in hot water, and was able to get the soap I needed."

Staff was welcoming and flight was comfortable. Not a reflection of employees. 100% reflection of upper management."

You will not need to worry about my ever flying your airline again."

We had been traveling around Scotland for ten days and on our last night we were at a place where we had no access to a printer. Also the cost of one piece of luggage seemed excessive - I would rather it had been included in the ticket price and paid up front."
Pros: "I liked the fact that my initial ticket was a good value. I liked arriving safely and on time. A Ryanair attendant took me under her wing and made sure I made my flight, without her, I would not have made it. I am thankful for her."
Cons: "Ryanair is not for the uninitiated. Nor for those who don't read the fine print. My baggage fees were not included, nor were the extra heavy baggage fees. My flight change fees were also as much money as my initial ticket. I almost missed my flight because of the extra time required to add in and pay for all of these fees. All told, at the end of the experience, I ended up spending 400% of the cost of my initial ticket. Be wary, be informed, read the fine print, and then be prepared for shamelessly overt marketing, uncaring bored male flight attendants, and a shabby dirty plane covered in cheap vinyl and bill boards. Next time I will pay any price to avoid this experience."

Cons: "I was not able to use the flight to Edinburgh so this information pertains to my flight from Edinburgh to Dublin. Myself and two friends on the same flight arrived at the airport very early because we were warned we needed extra time for customs. Little did we know that the extra time we needed was to make sure we didn't miss our flight due to the incompetence of the Ryan air staff checking baggage. But actually even before that, you need to be aware that you'll pay another $15 if you are in the same situation we were in and are unable to print your boarding pass. When we arrived to check baggage their automated system was not working. This appeared related to payment however there didn't appear to be anyone in the long line able to do this. We were subsequently sent back and forth about six different places in order to Just check our one piece of luggage each. One of my friends was directed to a separate line at one point and the agent started yelling at us while we were in line. There was only one poor woman who knew what she was doing having to handle several of us who were angry (not just us), as well as a long line of passengers trying to also check their bags. As I said I would not fly Ryan Air again if you paid me! In the long run you pay more between their "extras" and the aggravation."

Cons: "It was a very rough landing, the roughest I've ever had. Also the airline tries to gouge people by having unexpected costs such as that for luggage. No baggage is included but that is in the fine print or not explained at all so when you get to the airport you have to buy luggage for the flight which unsurprisingly, is more expensive at the airport rather than online."
Cons: "I checked in online to avoid the fee yet when I arrived they claimed I didn't fully finish the check in process so they charged me 135 pounds for 3 of us. The website was horrible and kept dropping me so after I chose the extras, paid with my credit card, and received the billing confirmation I thought I was done. I even showed them the email but they played hardball and made me pay the fee. Funny thing was they had all the passport information they needed because I really did check in online so all they had to do was push a button to print out my boarding pass. Biggest ripoff ever!"

Cons: "Disappointed with the lack of transparency. They charged my friend and I 90 Euros for not checking in online. The flight cost was 40 Euros....Give me a break. I was abroad and didn't have access to a printer seven days before I was notified of this action. Additional charge of 150 Euros for checking 4 bags. The cost of the one way ticket for the two of us was 80 Euros yet the extra fees were 240 Euros. Give me a break! The seats are uncomfortable and then they broke my golf driver in my bag. I haven't even tried to claim that with this airline because they don't care about their customers. Never again and I would suggest to anyone to stay away from Ryan Air. Least transparent company I have ever used."
