Taking bus 100E is the most direct way to reach the city centre from the airport. It departs every 30min from just outside the arrivals area. Alternatively, you can take bus 200E which connects to the Kőbánya-Kispest metro station, and from there take metro line M3 to the city centre. If you're going to use multiple methods of public transportation, it's best to buy a Budapest Card at the tourist information centre of the airport. This card gives you unlimited access to public transportation and offers discounts on some tourist attractions. Prices range from 6,490 HUF (about 33 CAD) for a 24h card to 18,990 HUF (95 CAD) for a 120h card.

The price of a ticket for the Budapest airport minibus varies according to the number of passengers, so this is a great transportation option if you’re travelling with your family or as a group. Prices start at 5,520 HUF (approximately 26 CAD) per person for only one passenger, but can get as low as 1,900 HUF (about 9 CAD) per person for groups of eight or more travellers.

There isn’t a train service that directly connects to the airport. To access a train, take bus 200E to Ferihegy train station, the closest to the airport. There you can buy train tickets at the station, or you can use the Budapest Card.
