During the boarding process many people stood and went in before their group was called, one agent noticed it and told the agent checking the boarding passes “all of these people are group A?” To which the other agent replied: “no, but I can’t do anything about it”. If there are group assignments, they need to honor that, as some people pay to board earlier."

Well, it's actually carrying a pair of sunglasses and my phone charger. totally inconvenienced and the crew saved the plane from being dangerously overloaded by an empty suitcase. Absolute nonsense."

Once on the flight, the hanging flap that separates the first class from economy, was loosely hanging and rattled fiercely and on lift-off swung back toward our faces. We had to pay 4 pounds for a coke and weird coffee. Then we had to circle London while we waited to land because of the IT mess in London."

So why did our flight land, and the ground crew were taken by surprise - "Ooo look - a plane! Full of passengers! And us working at an airport... Who knew?! Do you think the lights are attracting them? Let's all hide and perhaps they'll go away..." We landed from Edinburgh, taxiid in, and parked. No airbridge - don't be silly! And a 20 minute wait to disembark while they rousted a few idle layabouts out of their fetid pits of sloth to stand around and occasionally wave an arm in a desultory fashion in tne general direction of the shopping centre - sorry, "terminal building". Terminal is the right word. From now on I'm joining ABBA - Anyone But British Airways - not least to avoid Terminal Five..."
Pros: "Despite the fact that the flight was delayed (I think due to weather or other issues at the originating airport), the transition between flights was fairly quick and efficient. We landed late but flight crew asked people who were not connecting to wait for passengers with connections to disembark. Basic courtesies like this make BA stand head and shoulders above most American airlines and the low-budget ones."

Announcements are not heard in headphones, which in emergency situations could be dangerous. Noise reducing headphones supplier are effective in the noise reduction function, but not high quality audio resolution, with some dialogue intelligible. Business class seat wasn't a full recline as are those of most competitors, but it was comfortable. I didn't see any snack offerings that most other airlines have available between meals."

"DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE! I wish I would have taken the negative reviews I had read to heart before I had to discover it for myself. To start with, we were charged an extra $100 for our carry-on baggage apparently being overweight. This was not something we were told about prior to flying or we would have packed differently. During our layover in Portugal, we were delayed. Once they started to board, we got on the bus and drove out to the plane. Upon arriving at the plane, there were already two other busses there that had not even offloaded yet since they were apparently still servicing the plane. We had to stand in a crowded bus for about 45 minutes packed in like sardines. So much for social distancing and covid concerns! The plane itself was uncomfortable and the service terrible. I have flown across the Atlantic many many times on other airlines and have always received amazing service. This was not the case with TAP. Other than a small glass of water, we were only served drinks one time. There were no refills or additional service, which for a 9-hour flight is unheard of. I hated every minute of my time with TAP and will never fly with them again even if someone offered me a free ticket."

Now coming back however was far better, the food was good, although can we stop putting soggy food into the mix, I know the food is premade but the mash potato is always so soggy and the vegetable mix has no flavour. Drinks are always great on the flight, entertainment was the same, hosts were great, pilot knows how to fly the plane, thank goodness, and overall it was a good flight back. Make the tiny adjustments I suggested and you’ll be at the top of your game Air Canada ! Merci !"

Cons: "My traveling partner - Giovanni Medina - was given ill properly prepared food. He ended up getting food poisoning. We had a connecting flight in Montreal to Orlando (our final destination and home), he was suffering during the 2 hour lay over with an ill stomach and then had to suffer 3 more hours on a flight home. He was stopped from being able to go to the bathroom before takeoff because they needed him seated, but he immediately started vomiting right before we took off. He then spent the rest of the ride sick, they allowed him to move to the back in order to use the bathroom rather than the vomit bags, but he was not comfortable at all. He spent the rest of the night after landing in the bathroom continuing to vomit. We chose this airline because of the rave reviews of the food, entertainment, and hospitality of the crew. The latter two were certainly true. We definitely wanted to make sure that you knew of situation because this was a seriously uncomfortable situation for him and we would not want this to happen to anyone else. He had the chicken meal and the meat pastry on the flight."

I had a flight to Athens that was in final boarding my friend still has not arrived the first person I asked said she didn't have time to look if she was still on the flight , the second told me it was private info and finally a 3rd let me know she had been rerouted and would arrive 8 hours after me in Athens and that her bag though made my flight . She did last minute make it via running to our plane but in that time they had given her seat away, she had to prove that she paid did and deserved a flight . The way home from Athens all of my aid Canada flights were delayed and late . I had a 3.5 hour layover in Seattle to switch carriers to make it home , my flight out of Vancouver was 2.5 hours delayed that they continually said was only another 10 minutes , versus being upfront that it was severely delayed . Long story worst experience I've had ."

The wheelchair assistance was provided, but there were only three agents booked to manage 12 wheelchair passengers. They tried their hardest, but we still ended up missing our connecting flight. If the crew and agents hadn't been wonderful, it could have been a stressful trip!"

Running through the airport with us, pleading with TSA to move along, trying to talk sense to some guy who eventually allowed people to get off a flight, but wouldn't let us on. I guess its easy to make those decisions when he makes the call from some office via a phone and doesn't have to face customers. All other Air Canada employees we worked with were exceptional!!! Kudos to them."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed 3 hrs from London. Once in Montreal the systems that Air Canada uses to correct the situation are horrible. There was no way we would be able to catch our rescheduled flight in the time it takes to deboard, go through customs, get bags, recheck bags, go through security. We didn't. We missed the next flight too despite the heroic efforts by the staff (excpetion - TSA security. They moved very very slow to the point that they seemed passive aggressive to our situation). This is the second time it has happened. I probably won't fly Air Canada again, if possible."

This was "the" trip with the noisy, screaming 2yo sitting directly in front of me. I feel for the child and parents and feel some of the issue was the parent. Crew seemed to mostly ignore the situation. I'm a grandma so usually patient but others around me we clearly annoyed."

Cons: "The fact that because I was late for my flight, my reservation was cancelled. I was not given the opportunity to change my flight at all, I just lost out on the return portion of my travel. I would have been willing to pay a fee to change my return, but not given the opportunity. Had I booked directly with the airline, they would have had no problem making a change. Buyer beware!!! If you don't book directly with an airline, you may suffer the same fate as me! This was an almost $1,300 dollar learning experience. Do not use third party online booking agents! You do not have the same protections as dealing with the airlines directly."
Cons: "The person next to us was too heavy to fit in her seat, so she flowed over into my husbands, making the whole trip uncomfortable. In addition she had a smell. Not sure what can be done about it, but it made a long trip really uncomfortable. Service and food was also much better on the South African airlines portion of the trip."

I understand that industry standards have gone in this direction and that it's necessary to remain competitive, but at some point the industry needs to take into account the actual size of passengers. What are the seats now, about 16" wide? With so little leg room that I couldn't cross my legs if the seat in front of me was reclined. I'm a slim woman, about 130 lbs., and I was very (very) uncomfortable. I can hardly imagine the discomfort for the poor woman next to me (a plump post-middle-aged lady). I would definitely fly Air Canada again, as the staff was great and the overall experience was good. But I'm looking forward to the end of this trend of reducing space per passenger."

It would have been nice to leave the airport with my boarding pass. Then in the morning had to stand in line for an hour before I could get a boarding pass for a flight that was again delayed. I did ask one flight attendant if the salad option was gluten free, and she said "I'm not sure," but also didn't offer to look into it further, meaning I didn't have food for my transatlantic flight. Luckily I took a few small snacks, but that was a little bit of a bummer all the same."
Pros: "As far as the aircraft, it was comfortable, even in economy. There were numerous pleasant and surprising technological features, such as the tinting windows and the personal viewing screens, the latter of which offered tremendous screen quality and graphics. There was plenty of seating room and overhead storage room. I'm a large person, and I really didn't feel cramped. As far as the airline service, it was very good. The food was, and I cannot believe I'm saying this, very good. It was hot and tasty. The flight crew was also very nice and helpful."
