It was an exhausting and long wait for the next flight and I did not think it was well-handled. Staying in a hotel is not a great option, because it takes 2 hours to get out of the airport, another 2 hours cushion to get back in time."

Most of us in the cabin complained but these parents were pathetically weak and elected to allow it to continue. No sleep... spoiled experience.. miserable flight in this respect. Terrible Business Lounge 'Aspire' in Gatwick; dirty and poorly equipped - not even Prosecco on offer without paying £5 for a small glass. Qatar should stop using this dreadful place. Crew seemed to have stopped referring to the passengers by name and offer a less-personalised service in Business than we have become accustomed to. The food choices while good, have been paired back as have the selection of wines."

The chicken was looking something like a small hot dog served with potatoes which is never a part of Hindu meal. Also the curry was less making the passengers eat dry rice. Some passengers had pickle as choice some had some kind of butter to eat with rice and curry which could never be a combination."

Pros: "The plane we were on between Zurich and Copenhagen was comfortable and modern for such a short trip. This was a stark contrast to the old SAS airplane we flew in the opposite direction as a Swiss flight. The staff on the plane were friendly and helpful."

We tried to hold this flight (the return flight that we had paid for in our round trip ticket) but when we arrived at the airport we were informed that they had sold our seats. We had to pay $250 USD to fly standby (and "reissue" the tickets that we had already paid for) on a flight that was oversold by at least 6, and we heard other passengers also being told their tickets were sold. Their customer service for the ticket change and the phone calls made before hand where they promised to hold our tickets, were so disappointing, it was like dealing with any US based airline. We won't be flying with them again."

Cons: "Spaces for seats in the economy class are shrinking. With Swiss Air, seems more so as the seats recline quite a bit which is of course good for an 8-9 hours flight. However if the passenger in front of you reclines their seats, you absolutely are forced to recline yours immediately, otherwise no one will fit. Flight attendants have to ask passengers to put the seats back from reclining during meal service so people can open the food tray and are able to access it, that is how much the seats tilt."

Cons: "The real reason for the negative review is a combination of the cost of this flight, loss of my baggage and poor service after the flight. I paid nearly $4,500 for an economy ticket from New York to New Delhi. The first leg of the flight, from New York to Zurich was delayed long enough that I made my connecting flight to Delhi within seconds of them closing the gate and as a result my baggage was lost. Once I got to Delhi I had to take a connecting flight to Goa and then drive an hour to my destination, where I was attending a good friend's wedding. All of my baggage was lost during transit by the airline, and unfortunately they never delivered by baggage to my hotel...so I was without formal clothes and normal clothes for the wedding for 4 days. The customer service line was no help, and the airline refused to deliver the baggage to me...the closest they would bring it was the Goa airport which was an hour and a half away."

I tried watching different movies, programs, music...it wasn't the material I was watching that was the problem. I asked the flight attendant to reset my console. That didn't work either. I just ended up reading my book the entire 9 hour trip."

I think there has only been ONE delay in all those flights, and that was because of bad weather. I feel safe on every flight I take with them, they are sticklers for safety regulations and always get out on time! The planes are always clean. The flight attendants are always making sure you are ok, without bothering you too much! I wish they flew US domestic flights! I would never fly any other airline!"

I said "good" for teh food because it's airline food... as far as that goes Swiss is ok... I never like airline food anyway, and you get on eh plane at 9:00pm, who wants to eat dinner at that time anyway??"

Pros: "Everything about my flights on Virgin Atlantic was amazing. The plane was new and comfortable, the seats seemed to recline more than in other airplane I have been. The entertainment was good with a wide selection of movies and TV shows. The crew was incredibly nice and helpful and I had a really pleasant time talking with them. On the airport team side I can also say they were extremely helpful as I missed my flight and they promptly rebooked me on the next one 3h later, free of charge. I think the stress of missing a flight was completely deflected by the help of the Virgin Atlantic crew at the desk so thank you for that!"

Shortly after take-off, our calm and comfortable more or less empty section of the aircraft was colonised by an extended family of Orthodox Jews in a kind of airborne West Bank situation. They weren’t in our section of the cabin at all to start with, and I don’t know why they were apparently able to get a free upgrade that I had to pay £100 for. We went from being in an almost empty cabin to being basically sat in the middle of an Orthodox Jewish kindergarten. It was awful! They were noisy, messy, were constantly getting in and out of their seats, the back of my seat kept getting kicked, and there was even a baby crawling around the aisle. We were surrounded. I have no idea whether this is characteristic of Orthodox Jewish family life, or just a completely inconsiderate family. They didn’t exactly ruin my flight, but they didn’t make it enjoyable either. I asked to be moved. The cabin crew were great and acknowledged the difficulty of the situation. My wife lost her window seat but at least we still had the legroom and peace and quiet."

And finally cabin crew were lacking serious customer service and when u ask for something they were just so reluctant to deliver as if we were given a free ticket or something. May it be noted that my ticket was not that cheap to be treated in such manner."

Though the cabin crew were smiley and friendly, it was hard to get their attention when needed. The PA system is much louder than the entertainment, so announcements were ear bursting. The dinner selections ran out early, so a good proportion did not get their choice."

Was not happy as wanted to fly with Virgin.The seats were ok but the entertainment system went down mid film. Took an hour to get started again. The games didn't work. Staff were a bit grumpy."

Cons: "We were told over the phone that we could bring our kayaks with us to Africa but the airport staff denied not only our kayaks, but also our paddles which were in a standard ski bag. Their excuse was that both the kayaks and paddle bags were 2 inches too long. .. TWO INCHES!!!!!! We had record of the person we talked to and the time and date, but none of that seemed to matter. It caused A HUGE INCONVENIENCE for us since we are in Zambia for 6 weeks without our gear to paddle one of the most challenging rivers in the world... the Zambezi. Now we are constantly trying to acquire the proper equipment with very little success. Pros: "I was selected for additional screening at the gate. I have no problem with this at all. From the start I told them I am traveling with my fiancee. They tried to hold me back in a separate area after the screening and I once again told them my fiancee was waiting for me. One staff memeber walked with me half way back to get her and then disappeared. By the time I found her and came back, the staff memeber was no where to be found. Now we had lost are spot in the line and had to go to the back of the line. We spoke to 3 different staff people about what was going on and everyone said, oh the guy over there will help you. But no one did. The staff had No idea how to run a security check or handle paople. There was No working wifi! There was no tvs in the seats, only the old style in the aisle. The staff told me the plan was going to retire at the end of the month. The food was more for animals then for humans! We got updates by txt 10 mins before the staff updated the gate on our flight out from SFO. I have traveled all over the world with a lot of airlines and Never had such a poor service, but what is it to expect. It was United after all!"

Pros: "the crew were the friendliest I've flown with (Irish & British)... the lighting was very relaxing and the continuous snack service was much appreciated (especially ice cream).. gonna try premium economy next time as the seats looked even better..."
Cons: "Vera the entertainment screen was very good but there were no newly released movies, everything seemed to be a couple of months old... the leather headrest was comfortable but kept slipping down to behind my neck, would be nice if it was lockable in position.."

Cons: "The complimentary headset breaks easily. Tray table was broken and they can't fix it. Very small bathrooms, knees almost touch the door when sitting down. Food selection for dinner ran out quickly, resulting in only 2 choices and one is hot spicy, so basically only one choice. All beverages are given out in small cups, even water is given out in small cups increments (finish in one gulp), they don't even give out small bottles of water. No complimentary packet (eye shades, socks etc.) , not even a barf bag for collecting trash."

Pros: "The whole flight was great quick boarding, lots of leg room, good entertainment, a USB charge port, good lighting, and the crew was very nice and helpful. I enjoyed the flight and would like to fly Virgin Atlantic more. Finally, you are the 3rd best flight, I have ever take, and the 2nd best airline I've been on. Flew Business Class on Swiss Air once to Geneva (#1) and all the flights I have had with Porter Air are comparable to your airline, but the free cookies and beverages at Porter's terminal in Toronto wonderful."
Cons: "A couple things went wrong on this trip, my checked luggage got misplaced for a day, and a nice women in baggage claim told me what was happening and a nice man handled my claim and my bag has now been returned to me. The bigger thing is my flight bas delayed taking off by 3 hours. Let me start that I would rather have a part replaced on the runway then not, safety is paramount. The fact is my flight took off 3 hours late from London (VS11), and got to my destination (BOS) 2.5 hours late. Kudos to the flight crew for getting me to my destination faster by gaining a little time. Plus, since BOSTON was my final destination it was all fine this time. But if I had had to get home to the elder person I take care of or my teenager it would been a problem. Again, I'm annoyed, but I do understand the reasons and they are valid and preferred. I have heard that airlines to keep their flight rating high, wait for planes to leave the gate on time and then do repairs on the tarmac. If this is still a SOP for airlines you should change the way the statistics are collected and figure out a way of not perpetuating this type of disincentive. This is just hypothesis on my part, and my whole trip had little negatives."

After calling the helpline I was informed that it is impossible to change the seat after checking in until I am at the airport. No other airline has such an obscure, in efficient rule. Virgin takes pride in being a step above their competition - I didn't see it. I have flown international on Delta, American Airlines, British Airlines, United, and others and any difference in the experience was negligible."

Cons: "The seats!!!! Omg I got bed sores. Not really but they have got to be the most uncomfortable things I have ever sat in. For a European flight from Uk they'd be fine. But for 9 hours...not good. The short hop down from ATL to MCO after was a blessed relief. Virgin, you have got to think a little more about your passengers asses. Also, having flown with just about every major transatlantic operator, including previous trips with Virgin, the knee room was not good. If you stretched out under the seat in front you were ok but draw your knees up... I wore short trousers for comfort and have sore points on my knees where they rubbed against the material of the chair in front."

Cons: "In London I was required to ask fro this priority boarding with kids if not asked I would be queuing with small kids for 15 minutes.. (whilst In Frankfurt we have been invited to be boarded as first ones without asking for it.)"

When we arrived late in FRA, the gate attendant was extremely rude while trying to rebook and actually left us in the middle of rebooking because her shift ended. No one came to take her place!! She actually swore at us!! We were only able to rebook by calling the Lufthansa call centre and had to spend a very uncomfortable overnight at the airport without any certainty of when we would fly out. Lufthansa finally got us out on the same flight as booked but 24 hours later. And then, of course, they lost our luggage. Terrible overall experience."

Pros: "The very best experience. The decor calming, great seats. "On board Chef " , great food. Staff very attentive, polite and always smiling. They exuded a joyful atmosphere and seemed like never sat down! This was the third leg of our long trip and they made it so enjoyable.. That is a lot as a passenger is quite tired and possibly irritable by this time. This was an Austrian Airline flight and we were really blown away.. I also give kudos to management for having staff that is so efficient, hardworking and yet so joyful!"

Pros: "That my bag was at Johannesburg. My first flight was delayed due to a technical issue which meant I only had less than an hour until my connecting flight. It took me almost 20 minutes to walk to the gate just in time for boarding and was pleased that my bag had made it onto the same flight. There was loads of leg room in economy which as a tall person is really important."

Pros: "The flight was actually an Air Canada flight - a code share with Lufthansa. I had a good flight. The cabin crew were fantastic - very accommodating because I wasn't able to pre-select my vegetarian option online earlier due to the code share. They were very polite and professional. The seats were relatively comfortable and the movies onboard were aired and good. I would fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "I disliked the confusion with the code share. I have never flown a code share before an I was under the impression I was flying Lufthansa - not Air Canada. I really disliked not being able to check in online 24 hours before on either Lufthansa's site or Air Canada. That is ridiculous in this day and age - surely the two airlines can coordinate something were the traveller can check in online on one of the sites. Also, as a vegetarian, I wasn't able to select my meal - I had to hope that they had enough vegetarian meals to give me one. This is another problem thanks to the code share. If this is what code sharing is like, I won't be doing it again. No thanks. I'll book directly."

We lost our car reservation as we would arrive too late to collect, we also couldn't check in to our hotel as planned as the hotel only allow check in until 11pm; we would have got there at 1am, so then had to book another hotel for the night. Airport staff at Lufthansa told us they could not help and told us to go away!"

She was asking politely so this behaviour was rather poor in my view."

When I called in for cancellation at the airline, they told me to talk to my agent company Cheaptickets. Cheaptickets simply told me that I can't get any money back, and was extremely arrogant and impatient. Later (for a week I was trying to save this ticket by talking to the British Embassy to see if I can get the visa done and they are just "we can't help you") they told me that I can get a refund of like 30 SGD and they promised to send me an e-mail about it. They never ever did. I also tried to change the dates and the handling fee + fair difference was like 1200 SGD (are you joking?) they simply told me, prices fluctuate... Finally I went to the check in counter desperate. The staff even refused to talk to me about my situation because simply, "there is no BA ticket office in Singapore" and told me to call them. I said the office is closed, but they are like, yeah just call them. They swept me off like a moron. Extremely arrogant, impatient, insensitive. I paid 900 SGD for nothing and a whole week of anxiety and regret. I will never take this and I will never use Cheaptickets or Kayak"

Cons: "The lack of any concern or effort on Iberia's part once in Havana sans luggage was disgraceful. We were without any personal items or medications for SIX DAYS of a cycling holiday, because Iberia failed to answer the phone or deliver the baggage. We were obliged to take a 6.5 hour journey from where we were on day 6 (rural Cuba) to personally collect the baggage from Havana airport ourselves. NOT okay, Iberia/BA. Never again."

Pros: "Newly refurbished aircraft interior. Very attentive crew who found and returned a dropped passport."
Cons: "A bag of crisps and a drink was all the in-flight service had to offer. BA now charge to change seats just like a cheap and cheerful airline. At the back of the plane conditions are quite cramped. I've travelled with BA all over the world but it's rapidly becoming a third world airline and I'm going to have to go elsewhere."

Pros: "When the captain said there was only 10 minutes of the flight left and the refreshment cart was less than half way up the aisle, the third flight attendant began taking drinks orders from the back of the plane. He moved forwards and backwards getting everyone drinks and crisps. He even grabbed us some wine, even though only the drinks cart had the wine."

Cons: "The fact this flight turned out to be operated by American Airlines not BA. The staff were abrupt and rude. Complementary drinks only turned out to be wine and beer, without telling anyone. They tried to charge me $8 for a vodka. Entertainment not as good as BA either."

Cons: "the food in BA is consistently bad, at least for veggies. the entertainment system is very old in terms of quality of picture and sound and the content of movies, etc. compared to the other airlines, including the European and American ones, the entertainment system is probably the worst one around"

Cons: "The little details were not there. Funny how one appreciates that wet wipe before lunch when its not offered after running around the airport sweating. Somehow I got missed for the coffee round the next morning and not given a landing card"

Pros: "The boarding was very quick and effective. The staff were polite and welcoming. The plane was new and clean. We arrived 40 minutes ahead of schedule."
Cons: "The new BA seats were not very comfortable. The food on the 3+h flight consisted of a micro bag of pretzels, an egg&tomato sandwich and a kitkat."
