We lost our car reservation as we would arrive too late to collect, we also couldn't check in to our hotel as planned as the hotel only allow check in until 11pm; we would have got there at 1am, so then had to book another hotel for the night. Airport staff at Lufthansa told us they could not help and told us to go away!"

Because the flight was booked through a secondary company, rebooking the outgoing flight ended upp: a) costing me as much as the whole original return flight; b) was no longer a 1 stop flight as I also had to stop in Frankfurt plus the company would not allow me to choose directly, I sent them details and then they booked what they could find; and c) I lost both the outgoing flight ( which was charged) and the return flight ( which was not changed) premium seat bookings both of which I had to pay for a second time. If I had booked directly with the airline this would have cost a transfer fee and I would not have lost the premium seat bookings. This was therefore a great expense and inconvenience. I will no longer book flights indirectly when using kayak. In future I will search using google flights and then go straight to the airline sites to book. Very disappointed. I never had this problem when booking with kayak before"

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

There was no indication on e tivket which terminal I flew from so I had to walk a long distance to a new terminal….. then getting checked in took about an hour because the airline was clearly short staffed and the staff didn’t seem to know what to do efficiently. All my flights have been late so had to rush for my connections and arrived late at my final destination and to top all that off my suitcase hasn’t arrived so I have no clothes at all and I’m supposed to be working which I now have to cancel because I don’t have anything…… so this airline is now affecting my income and costing me a lot of money. It’s ridiculous

The trip itself was amazing despite the sub par customer service we received from Aer Lingus that definitely put a damper on our vacation. Our flight on Wed July 19th from NYC to Amsterdam went off without a hitch until we claimed our luggage, my brand new suitcase was covered with stains. Very disappointing but we went on to enjoy our time in Amsterdam. The real problems began when we flew from Amsterdam to Dublin, first we were seated all over the plane and worst of all when we arrived my husband's bag was lost. We went to customer service and completed the paper work. Everything my husband had for the trip was in that bag. Aer Lingus only texted him once and after that he had to call every day to check the status of his bag. Instead of exploring Dublin, we had to spend Sunday shopping to get him clothes for the trip. No word from Aer Lingus. Monday morning July 24 he calls to find the status of his bag. It was found in Amsterdam and was to be flown to Dublin and shipped to our next stop in Kinsale. We arrived Monday evening to find that the bag had not been shipped. Again no word from Aer Lingus. My husband called to find out the status and made arrangements to pick the bag up when we were flying back to NYC. We were happy the bag was found but my husband still was without all of his belongings for our entire trip. On Thursday July 27 we arrived at the airport early to retrieve the bag before we checked in to our flight. We were dismayed to find that there was not a person to talk to but a phone on a column to call to get help retrieving the luggage. There was a queue at the phone with people ahead of us in similar situations. Finally someone came out to escort my husband to get his bag. We were traveling with our son, and again our seats were scattered about the plane. There was no one at checkin to help us, and we didn't get help at the gate. So we had to sit separately for the 6 hour and 30 minute flight. When we claimed our bags, my bag now had tears along with the stains. This was a brand new suitcase and it is now ruined. My husband says he will never fly Aer Lingus again and this was the worst customer service he has had in his life. The customer service was virtually non existent."

No information was available about what gate the delayed flight would be departing from, which made it difficult to relax while waiting due to fears of missing the flight whenever it finally took off. The electronic flight list said to check the monitor at 6:38pm to find out what gate would be used (for a 5:30pm flight). I checked the monitor at 6:14 and it said the flight was boarding. This seems like a recipe for making people miss the flight. At the very least it made things stressful. No free food/beverages were provided (some is available at a cost). A family with a very tired baby was forced to wait in a huge long line rather than being pre-boarded. That just seems discourteous to me."

You were late leaving from Venice to London Heathrow on August 1 which I barely made the flight to Glasgow and then coming back your flight is late leaving Edinburgh to Heathrow And my luggage doesn't make it again! You don't even serve water on the airplane which is ridiculous! Your flight crew were nice but you really need to be on time or not schedule flights with such short layover times!"
Pros: "Crew was very attentive and food and drink good as on most flight to and from City Airport. Seats very comfortable compared to main fleet. City Flyer is still worth paying the extra which most flight by main fleet ex Heathrow or Gatwick are not."

Cons: "We were late to our outbound flight due to our other flight being delayed from weather. We went to the ticket desk area, which was closed and were directed to another help desk. Once at the front the attendent refused to help us and sent us to another desk at the other end of the terminal. After waiting in another long line, the attendent told us we had missed all flights to Edinburgh. There lack of staff and customer service caused us to miss all flights and trains into Edinburgh. On top of that, we were notified our flight back to London would be cancelled because we missed our outbound flight and that she could not provide us with any credits or refunds that we would need to call customer service. We lost the money we spent on our Edinburgh hotel and had no way to get to our vacation."
Cons: "Flight LCY-ZRH (19:35-22:10) departed delayed by >1h, we had to wait in boarding staircase standing with 9mth old baby for 45mins. Due to late take-off we were too late to land in ZRH as runway had already closed. Diverted to Stuttgart, where no BA staff was on the ground to deal with and all services had already closed (~00:30). Basically ~50 customers were dumped at a place they didn’t want to be and no info on his BA wanted to deal with it was given. After 1 week still no info on compensation. And this wants to be a major carrier?"
Pros: "Fast security and passport control at both ends, Home in 30 mins after landing"
Cons: "We had a carry on and were flying business class. They made us check in the bag but it was clear that it could fit. They said it was a busy flight so we had to give our bag up to check in. We arrived on the plane and there was plenty of space to put our luggage. It was not a friendly experience especially paying the premium to fly business. They were very direct and non forgiving. Crew on board were nice though!"

Cons: "The boarding crew from Edinburgh did not allow me to bring my carry on despite it being very light and within size restriction. They said this was because the plane was already full with others' luggage and could not handle my bag for safety. Had to shove my things in a Tesco carrier bag and in my daughters small backpack on wheels. The backpack broke later as it was not made to carry more than a few books. And to top it off, the suitcase I was made to check never made it on my connecting flight to Chicago. I am still waiting for it to be delivered 36 hours later. This suitcase is virtually empty. Well, it's actually carrying a pair of sunglasses and my phone charger. totally inconvenienced and the crew saved the plane from being dangerously overloaded by an empty suitcase. Absolute nonsense."
Cons: "We had to be transported by bus both when we boarded in Edinburgh and when we got off the plane at London Gatwick. Of course when we took another plane at Gatwick, we had to take a bus again. Very inefficient process. They actually close the gate 30 min before the flight time, for really. I think it's unnecessarily harsh. Crew were very friendly."
